Sandman XI
This is what he's blabbering about in OOC terms Device 3 (easy to lose; Quark Tech PDA): Comprehend 6 (speak to machines, understand machines, speak any language, understand any language, speak and understand all languages, ready all languages) AP: Super-Movement 1 (dimensional 1; Extra: Portal; PF: Progression/Size 2) AP: Datalink 10 AP: Quickness 20 (flaw: mental checks) Link to comment
Dr Archeville
That's not Datalink 10. That's Datalink 10 with Area (and possibly a lot of Progression to increase the Area). Datalink 10 alone would let it get to any one computer on Earth or the Moon, but only one at a time, and only if he knows where the computer is. What you were describing accessing them all at once, and that's an Area thing. More likely an Area Datalink with lots and lots of the Rapid power feat. Also, that's gonna be A LOT of porn on his computer Plus, I'm not sure I'm comfortable with the idea of a PL 6 char being able to download info from every computer on the planet at once. Or even attempting to, given what would then happen to the city. How would the handheld PDA make his brain work 5 million times quicker? I'm not really seeing that in the IC text. Link to comment

Think of it like fishing: Yeah, you can catch any fish, anywhere in the sea, but you only have one fishing pole, so you're only goinf to catch one fish at a time. How would the handheld PDA make his brain work 5 million times quicker? I'm not really seeing that in the IC text.I want to make it "checks that involve information", ie he could use it to gather information, use knowledge checks, profession check concerning the job, reasearch, etc. He can't use it for search, sense motive, or notice, etc. Basically he pops in a few search terms and the program instantly supplies him with the information. I knew "mental tasks" wasnt the right term for it, but it was late  Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Sorry for the delay, I've had numerous RL concerns, and one of the nastiest cases of Writer's Block I've ever experienced. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
So does Darian want "Conscious Full Memory Scan" or "Conscious Single Memory Scan"? Link to comment
Sandman XI
"Ve could set it to a consciously-held memory, in vhich case you vould need to be actively recalling it in order to unlock de mechanism. Upside of dis is dat it can only open if you are thinking of de memory, it vould not open if someone dragged your unconscious body to de door. Downside is dat you vould need to hold a very clear recollection of de memory for de entire time de scan is performed, vhich can be difficult even in de best of circumstances. Though, as another upside, it vould mean you could not access it if under certain forms of mind control."This one. Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Gotcha, then it'd have to be one single memory (since it'd be impossible to consciously recall every single memory you've ever had ). Link to comment
Sandman XI
Right. So... is there something I need to fix? Link to comment
Dr Archeville
If you'd not mind, editing so it's clear we're just going for the "conscious single memory" method. Link to comment
Sandman XI
Sorry about that. Done and done. Link to comment

Moira Morley
What this needs now? Darian looking up to find Dr Archeville is not there, and from outside the sound of a car door slamming and a car peeling out :P Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Don't be ridiculous. Dr. Archeville would never use such a primitive mode of transportation ;) Link to comment

Dr Archeville
Notice lets Quark glimpse the readout on the scan Archeville did on his own brainwaves, a good enough glimpse to get the gist of the readings. The two knowledge checks tell Quark that something was very, very unusual about the reading. He's certain that Archeville's superhuman mind is, at last in part, the result of magical enhancement and not genetic mutation. Not having any training in Life Sciences, he cannot tell what percentage that is. More ominously, the magic involved is such that, on a deep and fundamental level that he cannot put into words, it horrifies him. (Archeville's tech usually can't do anything for/to/with magic. I'm fiating that the bizarre technomagical nature of Quark's HQ is interfering with it and letting it pick this particular thing up ) Link to comment
Sandman XI
Are the readouts Quark is so scared of on the screwdriver or the MRI? Link to comment
Dr Archeville
Screwdriver, the results of the scan on Doc's own brain. Link to comment
