Tall for a woman with an athletic an lithe build Infinity carries herself with the cocky confidence of the fighter pilot she served as.  Free from the restrictions of formal military membership she wears her hair long with a shaved undercut along the sides and back.  The white locks fall in a graceful arc over one side fading from her natural brilliant white through soft lavender to a deep violet at the tips.  On duty she wears a flight suit or more often her full scout armor.  When off duty she dresses for the occasion though nearly always with slightly more toned skin on display than would be modest.    Her deep amethyst eyes glint with a hint of mischief and she wears an easy smile and friendly laugh at ease in large or small groups.


History:  The mining colony orbiting the gas giant of Relsys was perhaps not the easiest place to raise a child and particularly after her brother was taken in by a core world ascetic order Fa'Rua grew restless and acted out.  Her parents were somewhat despairing as she snuck out to wander the docking bays and old mining warens picking up all she could of the pilots tips and tricks before applying them to breakneck drone races in the abandoned mines below the colony.   Despite her wild streak she made good marks in the colony schools and avoided the worst the drifters and spacers had to offer, more than could be said of some of her more circumspect peers.


When she was old enough she surprised near everyone by signing up for the Navy and even managing to earn a place in the academy.  She had said it was the fastest ticket off this rock but the truth was she knew she'd never be satisfied hauling bulk freighters around the fringe.  She wanted more.  Military discipline proved less an impediment than she expected and the order and schedule even managed for a time to gentle her, well as much as a top pilot school trainee might be gentled.  She earned her wings shortly before the incursion and climbed the ranks in engagements against the Communion throughout Lor space.  She earned a reputation for a certain reckless streak that endeared her of her peers and outraged her superiors as well as her call sign Infinity, the number of demerits a superior officer promised at one point in her career.  Not that they could afford not to have her flying with a war for hte galaxies survival on the line.


That became less true once the incursion came to an end.  Knowing she'd risk being busted to a shuttle pilot in the core worlds if she didn't tow the line she did hte only reasonable thing and quit to join the newly formed colonial Scout corps searching the unexplored regions for new worlds and new allies.  She was joined by her twin brother their psychic bond just as strong if not stronger as when he'd left.  While they may be a bit of an odd couple at first glance they complement each others strengths and cover each other's weaknesses as loath as either is to admit it.


Personality & Motivation:  Despite chafing under the rules of military life Infinity retains a deep respect for those serving and loyalty for them and the republic.  She finds the scout corps a way to serve while still having the freedoms she treasures.  She is a fiercely loyal companion and friend if dryly sarcastic and with a healthy ego to match.  She's a thrill seeker and adrenaline junkie modding her ship for speed and tooks well outside the norm for the STR class scouts.  She approaches all things in life with much the same gusto as flight and if she stayed in one place long enough would like as not earn a reputation deserved or no.


Powers & Tactics:  In a fight Infinity relies on her military training and the scout corps equipment a pulse rifle and armored environmental suit.  She will use the suits mobility to position herself where she can apply the maximum pressure with minimal exposure.  In both flight and combat she takes full advantage of her unique spatial senses adding to her maneuverability with exacting precision.  She is a bit more circumspect about her full space folding abilities and still works to integrate them into her fighting style.

Power Descriptions:  Her rifle is a standard issue sturdy semi automatic pulse rifle much as most scouts are issued.  She has made some minor customizations herself as well of course.  Her suit is a standard armored environmental suit military surplus in fact.  It's not as heavily armored as a full power suit certainly but it can handle most small arms and violent besties they might encounter in their explorations.  Her teleportation is expressed with a visible warping of spacetime around her such that both places more  moment overlay and when space unwinds she'll be at her destination.



Fly Casual: Fa'Rua is technically in the service of the Colonial exploration corps.  As such she and her brother are after a manner of speaking representatives of the Lor Republic and their mandate is focused on exploration and outreach.  This can limit their activities without some finessing of reports.  (Gain HP when orders and regulations get in the way or must be broken with deleterious consequence.)

I don't have people, I'm alone:  Fa'Rua can not become Empyrean without being in contact with her brother the cosmic entity being bound to them jointly.  (Gain HP when separation or being grappled/snared etc keeps Infinity from becoming Empyrean)

I made a lot of special modifications myself:  Modified jump drive alt power only functions when piloting the Star Hopper with its custom jump drive; in any other vehicle Fa'Rua can't take full advantage of her spacial warp abilities.

It's Not My Fault: Infinity has made some custom changes to her ships drive systems.  The biggest being implementing an experimental jump drive to integrate with her natural space folding powers.  Outside of this custom ship or potentially another similarly outfitted she can't augment a ship to perform space fold maneuvers.  Worse her system is experimental and thus can fail at critical moments or require recharging (Gain HP when the space fold system malfunctions or is otherwise unavailable in a  critical moment.)

You know, sometimes I amaze even myself:  Infinity is a bit brash and competitive particularly when it comes to her skills as a pilot or her ship.  (Gain HP when a challenge to her skills or ship derails the sensible path.)

Jolan is an athletically built Lor of average height and calm unassuming demeanor.  Garbed normally in simple loose fitting synthweave clothing in a drab gray.  For more formal occasions he has the ceremonial robes of his order still of simple cut but woven of natural fiber and dyed to pleasant lavender and accented with a subdued slate grey.  His head is neatly shaved in accordance with his ascetic vows and his eyes though cloudy as if blind are lively and quick conveying a heartfelt depth of emotion.  He moves with the subtle grace of one well trained in exactly where his limbs are at all times, the controlled motion of an athlete, dancer, or martial artist.


History:  Relsys V is a lumbering gas giant on the far edge of it's stars habitable zone, the system itself on the fringes of the Lor Republic and the unexplored regions.  The colony where Jolan and his twin were born is the smallest moon orbiting the gas giant from where the hardened scooper ships dive into the Gas giants crushing atmosphere and extract rare compounds built in the extreme pressures.  Psychic potential is not uncommon among the Lor though less so among the colonists of the fringe.  However Jolans potential manifested young and in an obvious fashion when a barely verbal Jolan foresaw and prevented a nearly disastrous descent that would have lost his father's entire crew.  The colonial magistrates quickly stepped in and after testing he was granted the honor of being raised and trained on the Lor core world of Telis, a garden planet and ancient seat of Lor spiritual and philosophical thought.  


Jolan was trained and raised by the Order of the Celestial Path which he eventually came to join.  The Order has grown into a trusted diplomatic corps over it's long existence as a monastic sect among the Sacred Assembly of the Prophets.  The ascetic vows of its adherents and egalitarian leanings serving to cement it's place in the broader Lor society.  As the republic grew they came more often to represent colonial or corporate interests and act as mediators.  In the time since the Incursion they have taken an active role in securing and reinforcing alliances with member races and states as well as active work in the expansionist colonial initiatives imbedding themselves with the scouts exploring the fringes of Lor space seeking habitable worlds and potential allies.


Though forbidden to contact his family directly by the precepts of the order Jolan retained a tight psychic link with his twin sister and through this conduite he tracked her progress through a normal life on the fringe and she his strange life in the core.  Despite distance and difference this bond remained strong.  When the Communion was defeated his sister retired her commission in the navy to pilot a scout ship seeking colony worlds for those displaced in the Incursion and he Joined her perhaps against the wishes of his superiors in the order though with the blessing of the orders greater goals.


Now they together jump from system to system seeking potential homes for their peoples or allies and resources to aid in the rebuilding efforts.


Personality & Motivation:  For as long as Jolan can remember he has seen hints and flickers of the past and future as if they were right before his eyes.  It manifested as nightmares and strange dreams in his early life though with training he largely has command of his visions and is able to tune them to his own purpose.  Because of this training he is exceedingly calm in most situations having usually played out the most likely outcomes to any given set of choices.  This and his mindful techniques the order taught to hone and control his powers have left him exceptionally mature for his age but equally exceptionally naive.  While he has a keen understanding of people and how to read them needed in his training in diplomacy he consistently thinks the best of people nearly always able to see the path to their best selves.  


After the losses of hte Incursion it is more important than ever that the Lor strengthen their alliances and find a way to peace with their neighbors.  Jolan wishes to do his part and is a genuine believer in peace and the greater good.  Which on the fringes of Lor space can seem hopelessly naive.

Powers & Tactics:  Jolan perceives time past present and future overlayed in the myriad paths of destiny.  With focus he may glean useful hints of what has or will come to pass in a location or even wander up and down his timeline and potentialities.  Near term events are even easier for the psychic foresight to grant him insight allowing him to know exactly what his foes will attempt even before they themselves might.  Combined with his training in the martial techniques of the order he is a skillful combatant when his hand is forced to conflict.  His powers of late have grown allowing him some ability to manipulate the very flow of time immediately around him slowing it in an area or speeding it for himself or an ally allowing for swifter strikes or accelerated recovery.


Power Descriptions:  Jolan has mastered a series of techniques for attack and defense augmented by his psychic abilities.  To those knowledgeable of such the Lor martial techniques can be recognized.  When calling upon psychic force to augment his blows the shimmering purplish pink of his psychic power manifests around his fists.  His temporal powers are even more obvious as time bends to his will creating palpable distortions in spacetime as he twists time itself.  When engaging his foresight beyond the everyday awareness his eyes go almost pure white as his senses travel the timelines.


Naive: Despite his keen awareness and interpersonal skills Jolan still thinks the best of people and can be too trusting (Gain HP if despite overcoming an interaction skill he still reacts as if he failed)

Timelost: though anchored in time his senses are less so and when exploring the myriad paths he may lose track of time as others experience it (Gain HP to effectively stun him or delay him while using his myriad paths, or pre/post cognition powers)

Empyrean has taken a physical form built into a large crudely humanoid form of cosmic energy hardened to an approximation solid.  It's 'skin' has an iridescent quality like a thin sheen of oil on water enveloping a roiling core heatless flame that shifts in color on whim and emotional state.  The form emits a soft light insufficient for illumination but noticeable in darkness.  As they move traces of potential trail behind each movement as as they come to rest the same visual echos will fade along potential courses shadows of the higher dimensions to which the Empyrean is native.


History:  Outside of Time and Space exist the Empyreans an ancient race of intelligences without physical form as it is known on Prime.  They are at once collective and individual their origins lost to all but the eldest of their kind.  A portion of this intelect, representing a certain youthful curiosity by the timeless beings standards attached itself to mortal forms of a pair of Lor infants some decades ago.  it imbued them with a measure of it's power that it might experience and gain understanding of life under the strictures of linear time and defined space.  It has followed them through the trials and tribulations of their collective mortal existence with a kind of wonder and curiosity that has grown protective of they and that which they have come to value.  As it's power has shaped their lives courses they too have shaped it's understanding of this universe.  If in contact with one another the twins can call the Empyrean into it's physical form and surrender themselves to it fusing into a being of Cosmic Energies that can more directly interact with the lower dimensions they exist in.  As the bond between it and it's hosts grows it is more able o encourage this even when they are not in need of it's power.


Personality & Motivation:  The Empyrean is first and foremost concerned with what it means to exist in a singular time and place and the fascinating entities it has met in ints travels.  The Lor it has bound itself to have shaped it's perception and goals into a protective streak for the intelligences of this realm.  It wishes to understand and experience all the universe has to offer and to share it with others of it's kind.  At the same time it is deeply concerned with that which might bring harm to the beings it has become attached too.  More so those close to it's hosts but intelligent life in general as well.  It delights in experience and questioning those who exist in but the perceived dimensions of the average mortal of Prime.


Powers & Tactics:  In combat the Empyrean is a blunt instrument.  Able to manipulate the forces of the cosmos it tends to act with power rather than finesse.  In the grander scheme of hyperdimensional entities it is crude flailing.  Within the limited dimensions it constrains it's forms to there are an assortment of brutal attacks, blasts of cosmic energy, nova like explosions, myriad beams swirling out into a stream of ceaseless attacks or channeling raw cosmic energy into a torrent of destruction.  They are conversely able to focus on siphoning energies from their surroundings and nearby foes.  The Empyrean approaches conflict with a direct and naive approach attempting to plant themselves in place to unleash havoc upon their foes.  They rely on their sturdy form for protection and approaches most conflict with an earnest and direct effort, whether combat or social interaction.  


Power Descriptions:  While able to use it's energetic fields to vibrate air it is an alien concept to the Empyrean and thus it prefers to broadcast directly into the minds of those around it.  This form of conversation allows it to instantly translate to language or concepts understood by those receiving the messages.  While not true telepathy it can unsettle those not expecting the voice in their heads and may be ineffective against those shielded from such powers.  Beyond the ability to manipulate cosmic energies into protection and attacks and the traits of consisting of hardened cosmic energy the Empyrean has senses beyond the norm for a human though out of a desire to experience the limited existence of this realm does not reach into the cosmic sphere or higher dimensions simply greatly enhanced perceptions common to many species of Prime.


Luminosity: Empyrean not only literally glows making concealing themself difficult but their energetic form is highly recognizable and unusual making even blending into a crowd all but impossible. (Gain HP when this form prohibits evading foes that might otherwise be avoided)

Binary System:  Formed collectively from it's paired hosts Empyrean can potentially be forced apart by significant damage or directed manipulations of cosmic energies, or even a cleverly implemented trap.  It's component hosts may be stunned by such a sudden separation and unable to rejoin for some time. (Gain HP when forced out of the cosmic form by fiat/damage that doesn't already render them unconscious)

A bit of explanation of what's going on here:


This is my construction of a gestalt type character ala firestorm

Infinity is the core character a using a PL12/180PP reward slot to make a PL 10 180PP character.  Infinity has a 30 point sidekick in the form of her brother Eternity a PL10 150PP sidekick.  She also has metamorph for the Empyrean form a PL12 180PP version of the character and a complication requiring her to be in contact with her brother to activate metamorph and change forms.  When activated the Empyrean form absorbs both the twins and when it changes back they both split back out.  If KO'd the Empyrean form dissolves back to the Twins as well (or by other GM Fiat per complication) after this forced dissolution the twins would likely be unconscious or stunned/dazed as the GM and the cause dictates. 


Ship details:

Infinity has an AP of her teleport power representing her ability to augment her teleportation range with the ship granting the ship an effective TP 20 with some restrictions.  

I've also put two sensor related features on the ship that I hope to get added to the house rules shortly.

An interesting take on Gestalt! Let's see, here.




Communications 5 with a power feat would be 6pp, not 5.


Looks like you bought 7 ranks of Super-Senses, not 9.


Barring the changes above you've only bought 46pp of powers, rather than the stated 48, giving you two extra power points to play with.





Double-check the abilities tally line; looks like Charisma got dropped by 2 and it got reflected in the final total but not the math leading up to it.



With flat Dexterity and Improved Initiative 2, Eternity would have Initiative +8, unless I've missed a +2 bonus from somewhere.



You cannot take 10 with Concentration, and thus it cannot benefit from Skill Mastery.



What specific trait is Boost boosting?





Double-check the tally line here: 0 + 0 + 10 = 12.

dropped communication in the armor to 4 ranks and subtle for 5PP cost

added acute to the super sense and adjusted the costs up to use up the PP in powers.



fixed the bad math notations and swapped concentration for medicine skill mastery


Boost boosts the Autofire Extra.  He can accelerate himself or an ally in time to have a normal attack they posses gain up to 6 ranks of autofire is the idea.  The definition of Trait is somethat open ended and Partial extras like penetrating, impervious, or autofire seem like a valid option.  But I'm open to suggestions on how to better model that sort of effect.

Hmm. An interesting use of Boost. I think the math works out, but I'd probably note it as:

I'm willing to take pushback on that, though.
