  1. One of the perks of having a show on the Discovery Channel was a generally cordial working relationship with public broadcasting systems all around the world. It was especially nice in cases like this, where instead of doing interviews on the street or in a rented conference room, they were able to line up a cozy little interview space at the FCTV studios right downtown. The SuperCrime crew had piled all their outdoor gear in an unobtrusive corner and taken an hour's break to thaw out, eat lunch and back up footage of the morning's work. Now Paige was redoing her makeup in front of a mirror in the corner, covering up a slight case of windburn with concealer while the crew did light tests and their waited for their guest to arrive. The studio was not very large, a living-room themed stage area big enough for perhaps four or five people maximum. It was set up with two comfortable chairs cheated towards the camera with a low table between them for coffee cups and looked very much like a thousand different news program sets. The crew already had all the cameras set up and ready to go, and the smell of coffee floated invitingly through the warm air.
  2. Wharton State Forest, just off Sorrow House Road Right Now The creature in the clearing lounged in a throne made of bone enjoying there first taste of freedom in centuries. It had expected someone to try and stop its return but was really disappointed by the effort, only a single human female had tried to stop them with her flaming sword. She was now held by some of the skeleton warriors, servants of old returned to carry on there servitude. The glowing green eyes beneath her hood was a nice touch they'd have to determine how she managed such a trick. "Did you expect to be able to beat me all by yourself pitiful human?" "Not exactly." the woman voice had an accent unfamiliar to them "Let me tell you how this all started a..."
  3. GM Train Station Mystery, New Hampshire 2:24 PM Saturday October 11th, 2014 Amddiffynnwr O Lleu Llaw Gyffes has eyes where it is needed. All members of the order understand this simple principle. Perhaps none more so than Cerys Pfer, whose cover at Claremont has gone through it's own series of trials over the years. An agent for the order had been tracking rumors of a lost artifact in a small town in New Hampshire known as Mystery. Until suddenly the order lost all contact with him. As such, it befell on their closest contact in the area Cerys to perform her duty and recover the artifact. Thaelia, princess of Atlantis known to her peers as the boisterous Glamazon, had no stakes in the matter. In fact she had no idea where her friend was going when she snuck off from the Claremont grounds early in the morning. Just that when she saw Cerys leaving the campus grounds early in the morning, Thaelia took it upon herself to tag along. Even after finding out they were in for a six hour train ride with three transfers in between. Lynn Epstein, the veteran shapeshifting fey touched hero known as Grimalkin, had her own reasons for heading to Mystery, New Hampshire. Having purchased a rare book in an online auction, Lynn had found herself required to pick up the book in person. The book being a touted as genuine fey article was of utmost interest to Lynn. Just before the train reached its final destination it shook violently. A woman's panicked yell followed soon after. Those with a keen enough eye would have turned their heads in time to look out the window. In the distance stood a massive mastiff with baleful breath and blazing red eyes. It's wispy dark black fur moving like living shadows. All three of the heroines on board were quick to spot the creature. Before it disappeared without a trace. The train arriving in Mystery shortly thereafter. Mystery is in the shadow of Mystery Mountain, the largest peak in the southern New Hampshire area, situated some distance from a spur of the White Mountains. “The sun sets early in Mystery†the locals say, given the vivid sunsets over the peak of the mountain as its shadow spreads eastward over the town in the early evening.
  4. Blodeuwedd Power Level: 12/15 (226/250PP) Trade-Offs: None Unspent Power Points: 24 In Brief: A Welsh Ninja trained since an early age to battle rogue gods and spirits. Residence:. Base of Operations: Catchphrase: Alternate Identity: Blodwen Jones, Cerys Pefr, Ellis Bexter Identity: Secret Birthplace: Caerdathyl, Gwynedd, Wales Occupation:University Student Affiliations: Amddiffynnwr O Lleu Llaw Gyffes (Defenders of Lleu Llaw Gyffes), Blue Jay, Crimson Tiger, Kit Family: None, orphaned at birth Description: Age: 19 (DoB: 1st March 1996) Gender: Female Ethnicity: Welsh Height: 5’8” Weight: 125 lbs. Eyes: Hazel Hair: Dark Brown Blodeuwedd plays many parts and with years of practice she plays each part remarkably well. She can go from a high socialite to street kid with an almost perfect attention to detail from clothes to hair to makeup. When not playing a part, or at least Blodwen (or previously as Cerys), she tends to dress simply in loose fitting comfortable clothes with her hair tied into a ponytail or into braid(s). Her costume is simply the artefacts she has been entrusted with by the order, with the cloak around her and the strange glow of the goggles she can cut quite an imposing sight. Power Descriptions: Blodeuwedd has no natural powers only the years of training that has been provided to her by the Order. The Order has however managed over the centuries to have acquired, legally or via industrial espionage and even outright theft, a number of items both magical and technical. The best of this equipment has been given to Blodeuwedd to aid her in the mission. Each has been given a name after one of the fabled treasures of the British Isles. Dyrnwyn "White-Hilt": Scholars of the order debate whether this sword is the actual mythical weapon or a similarly named item. The debate is centred on the fact that the sword is actually a more medieval broadsword than the more suitable Celtic designs. Like the mythical sword this one becomes covered in a magical fire when it is drawn, though whether the sword will burn the unworthy is still unproven. Gwyddbwyll Gwenddoleu ap Ceidio "The Chessboard of Gwenddoleu ap Ceidio": These goggles appear to be a simple set of oversized night vision goggles, and they do indeed allow her to see in the dark. They also however contain a pair of specially prepared magical lenses that allow her to detect magical energies. The large flat lenses glow with a slight green light. Llan Tegau Eurfron "The Mantle of Tegau Eurfron": A tight fitting body suit and floor length cloak, with hood, weaved out of cutting edge materials that are not only light weight and flexible, but provides substantial protection to the owner. The suit is colored a dark blue to assist stealthy operations during night time. Made of advanced fiber panels there mimetic qualities allow it to alter its appearance to appear as almost any form of clothing. Ffoniwch Eluned "Ring of Eluned": This item is an alien ring, of unknown origins, which has been gifted to the order by one of their allies working from Cardiff. The ring projects a thin field of energy around the wearer which not only provides a degree of protection it also allows the wearer to camouflage themselves into the environment History: Blodeuwedd never knew her parents, they died when she was young, all she has known is the sanctuary of the Amddiffynnwr o Lleu Llaw Gyffes (Defenders of Lleu Llaw Gyffes). The men and women of the order were caring people and she was raised in a loving caring environment, but from an early age she was trained as an athlete and a warrior. Trained to be an agent of the order. According to legend the Order was founded by Lleu Llaw Gyffes himself as a body of men (and later women) to help defend him and the Kingdom of Gwynedd (later Wales) from the vengeance from the goddess, and his mother, Arianrhod. Through the centuries the order has expanded there remit to defend the nation from any supernatural threat being from the Celtic gods and spirits. Mostly from within Wales but occasionally the acted on threats outside the country. A small and deeply secretive order they rarely concern themselves with matters outside of Wales, but in the last few years there augers and intelligence network, have heard rumours that one of the Celtic god or goddess have allowed one of their offspring to live in Freedom City in the United States. After much debate the order decided to send an agent to the city to monitor the situation. As the seer showed the main focus was an unusual school they needed someone of the right age to infiltrate the school. Blodeuwedd knew nothing about this; she was being trained to recover dangerous Celtic artefacts. The first she knew was when she was informed of her mission by the Order and sent to America to infiltrate the school. Her orders were simple, find out if such people exists and if they do what danger they present to the order. Her time at Claremont has been where she has bloomed into a young woman who's confident and capable in her abilities. Whilst her loyalty is to the Order that raised her she is confident enough in her abilities to have stayed in Freedom City and finally in her life pursuing the interest that she wants to do with the firm friends that she’s made along the way. Personality & Motivation: Blodeuwedd is a quiet and reserved person with all her word and actions being carefully considered. She’s a quiet and conscientious student who watches everything and considers all the fact before asking questions. She a very stern and serious person but does has developed a very dry wit and is a master of deadpan, very few can tell if she’s serious or not. She also fiercely loyal to both the Order that raised her and the friends she’s made at Claremont’s and would, and has, drop everything to help either of them in her there time of need Powers & Tactics: Blodeuwedd has been trained to be a cautious fighter. She will spend as much time as possible calculating her enemy's abilities and weaknesses, if possible at a distance from a hiding place. Then when she is ready she will strike quickly and swiftly trying to disable her opponent. She has had it drummed into her to always spare her hand against human enemies, only against the gods and their allies are she allows unleashing her full fury. Complications: Rwy'n Cymraeg: Raised by a very pro-Welsh Order Blodeuwedd is naturally very proud of her Welsh heritage, it takes a great effort of will to hide her nationality or even her accent. She, and the order, aren’t however rabid nationalist fighting for independence. In their mind if the Queen was unfit to rule the land then the land we become barren. Only then would they have to act. Dipyn o acen: However hard she tries Blodeuwedd has never been able to completely lose her Welsh accent. Even when she does an almost flawless American accent the odd word or phrase will give away her Welsh heritage. Cyfeillion am byth: Blodeuwedd had forge friendship with her fellow Claremont students that were forged in fire. She would put everything on the line to help any one of them at a moments notice. Pwy ydw i?: Blodeuwedd maintained multiple identities in Freedom City. As well as Blodwen Jones the student she is also Ellis Bexter a young business woman, as well as temporary identities she may adopt to serve the Order. Along with time spent as the hero Blodeuwedd these various identities can take a toll on her time and energies. 6. OOC for this. Everything there is pretty much googleable, I don't expect any of them not to know the terms. To keep things simple I'm using Fomhóraigh for the mythical versions and Formorians for those from the book.
  7. Toraigh, Republic of Eire 20th December 2016 GM Post Tomas O Floinin hating this island a little spur of rock sitting of the coast of Ireland, but it contained a treasure worth more than it's weight in gold so he'd spent months searching. None of the obvious historical or mythic places held the object, so he'd spent month growing to hate the island more as he scowled every millimetre of the place. Finally after all that time he'd found the object so in the middle of the night he ended up digging for the item, in the dark it wasn't that impressive an object, just a circular lump of iron around the size of the dustbin lid. As the light of the torch shone over it he could admire the fine Celtic carvings on it's iron surface, impressive it this object was as old as the myths suggested, more so for the planks of wood that it sat on that look like they'd been felled only yesterday. It was the Eochair Balor ar, Balor's Key and if the stories were true it was could hold a place so no one could enter through any magical means. It was ironic then that the weather, as always on this accused island, meant he wouldn't be able to leave until after the holidays. But still what harm would it be to wait a few more weeks?
  8. Fred's Diner. Corner of 49th and 6th. Freedom City, USA. 11:29 PM Freedom City's cowls were a rarefied bunch. They knew each other and how they worked; and when one disappeared, it was noticeable. Not enough to cause a massive stir - some heroes just came and went - but Cerys Pefr knew Morgan Crowe a bit better than most. He might be appalled why, mind, or approving - either-or. As it stands; he'd dropped off the grid about four years ago, shortly after a quiet wedding to a young lady. Scuttlebutt said he'd disappeared from the very limousine carrying them to an airport for a honeymoon, no less. Neither'd arrived at their destination. He'd picked a fine time to disappear, though - Parkhurst had been up to it's eyeballs in their own problems, and by the time it became obvious he was missing, they couldn't find hide nor hair of him or her. Just another unsolved mystery for Freedom City. Until now. Rumor had it that a familiar cowl and coat had been working the Waterfront and the Fens again, with occasional appearances in other trouble spots across the city. That Crowe Security Consulting had reopened - citing a brief closure for renovations. That a face had appeared in Parkhurst at least once, studying tomes of scrying and tracking. That a lot of questions had been asked - usually at fist or knifepoint - to various henchmen concerning one Victoria Knight-Crowe. Or Crowe-Knight. And, in other news - one Morgan Crowe was apparently now a semi-regular patron downtown at Fred's Diner. Best milkshakes and burgers in town. He sat at a corner booth, looking over a folder of security information - using a knife to ferry fries one by one to his waiting maw.
  9. Nơi mẹ Restaurant, San Diego It was one of those small out of the way places that only the locals knew about that served possibly some of the best Vietnamese food outside of the country. Blodeuwedd was quite proud that she'd been able to track down the place despite having only been in town for a few hours. Having just finished up some business for the Order and having a few hours before her flight back to Freedom City she thought she'd catch up with her old friend from Claremont Giang Trang. Right now was almost unrecognizable in a well cut suit her hair pulled into a severe bun playing the part of the young businesswoman. To be honest she'd be happy to get out of character into something much more comfortable.
  10. ?????????Monday, June 8th, 2015???? Time had become a distant memory. Day in and Day out the three teens had been dragged out to fight for the entertainment of an alien audience. Never as a team. Always one on one in a staggered order until they were left exhausted. Their clothes were torn, their bodies battered. And worst of all they hadn't spoken to anyone in a week. At least not out loud. Errant, had been acting as a communication relay from his cell when it wasn't his turn to fight. Perhaps serving as the only saving grace in keeping a measure of sanity. Each of their cells remained completely unlit. There was no mattress, the food in their trays were flavorless gruel. They were essentially in completely sealed 4' x 4' rooms. There were guards posted outside of each of their cells, sight unseen. All armed with staves that acted as blasters. Despite their imprisonment, their spirits had not been dampened in the slightest. Escape was on all four teen's minds. Ranked slightly ahead of revenge.
  11. Freedom City, New Jersey, United States Wednesday, January 6th, 2016 Midmorning A neon green bolt sped through the center of Freedom City with a tail of red and blue lights stretching behind it for a solid block. As it turned the corner with a squeal of tires, Blue Jay swung into an alley on a blue-white grapnel. She was moving fast, fast enough that the buildings were a blur around her, fast enough that one grapnel shot took her entirely through the alley, and when she shot out the other end she was just in time to see the car chase shoot past her. The archer swung around and landed on a convenient rooftop. She watched the tiny neon car with the green running lights flash past her, easily staying out of the reach of the police cars that were chasing it. Unfortunately, that same speed and agility kept it out of Blue Jay’s reach. She watched the chase move away from her, breathing through parted teeth. She’d never catch up with the car with her own speed; she’d have to get smarter to stop the reckless driver. Jay reached up and tapped the commlink in her ear, sending out a signal. “Blodeuwedd. Do you see where the car is headed?”
  12. GM The Super Museum Midtown, Freedom City, New Jersey Saturday, October, 31st, 2015 8:30 PM For many in Freedom City, Halloween was a time of relaxation. A day for those who didn't already don a mask on a nightly basic to put on a costume and get in on the fun. If you went to the right places the crowds were comparable to the zombie hordes sprawled on many a tv set. Malls, bars, and even museums offered special events and trick or treating opportunity. One such museum was the famous Super Museum in Midtown. Normally a super or two volunteered to pose for pictures following a documentary showing of a hero's known history. The Q&A session followed by grab bags of candy being handed out. Unfortunately, for the Super Museum festivities were cut short. Before the building could be reopened it was discovered an artifact had been stolen. The artifact in question was known as the Horn of Taurus, and was notably not a replica. Due to the magical nature of the horn, it didn't take long for word to spread about its theft.

  14. GM UC San Diego; San Diego, California Wednesday, February 18th, 2015, 4:04 PM Giang Trang's was no less active outside of the comforts of Freedom City. The Environmental Systems Major was always on the move in one way or another. In the interim between her classes she had only had enough time to make it back to her apartment for a quick change before heading out. Being a lifeguard was a seasonal occupation, but a need for pay was not equally so. And if it wasn't for the man laying outside the entrance to her dorm Giang may have had a shot of finishing another workday. He was badly injured in jaguar print loincloth, which even in Southern California was less than conspicuous. The lacerations throughout his body were made all the more concerning by the fact that he seemed to not be actively bleeding despite how fresh they seemed. Instead the wounds seemed to be cauterized. With matching burn marks to show for it. - Bayview; Freedom City, New Jersey Wednesday, February 18th, 2015, 7:04 PM It was a normal quiet evening in Freedom City. Or as quiet as Freedom City got. The sky was blue, the birds were chirping. Everything was copacetic...with one small issue. There was a gigantic, even in scale of dinosaurs, Tyrannosaurus Rex charging through Bayview. Vehicles scrambling to get out of the creature's way. Some parked cars already had the unfortunate opportunity of meeting the creature's maw. The neighborhood famous for the sheer number of superpowered teen hero appearances within its confines was no stranger to having a bit of the unusual rampage here and there. The news copters were able to get into position to capture the footage so quickly it might have been a record with a number of local stations having running their traffic feeds. Not that one needed to be paying attention to the news to catch the commotion.
  15. A Blind Alley, West End, Freedom CIty 7:30 pm 20th March 2015 Freedom City was for many a popular destination for tourists from all over the world. Yes the near by New York had it impressive buildings but only Freedom offered so many superheroes. Despite this the city still offered dangers for those who didn’t have their wits about them. The well dressed woman had obviously taken a wrong turn whilst exploring one of the lesser known area of Freedom City. She hadn’t realised it yet but she’d started walking down an alley closed at one end. The two muggers who followed in behind her did however know this and was obviously taking advantage of the situation. Luckily for the woman the were heroes here even in this area of Freedom City.
  16. Friday, May 15, 2015 Port Regal, Freedom City Sundown The setting sun cast long shafts of golden light across the city, making long shadows on the lawns of the oldest homes in Freedom City; complicated gables and spires threw Escheresque shadows across wide, manicured lawns. This was once the quarter for the rich and powerful, and although many may have relocated north of the bay, it held old money, old power, and old secrets. Three women were determined to reveal some of these secrets. Blodeuwedd had been making her regular patrols along the waterfront when a silent alarm drew her attention. Armed thugs had been trying to break into a warehouse containing exotic metals like iridium and electrum. Monkey Wrench had caught a gang trying to sneak into the shop and steal scrap metal; when the drones cornered them, they would only scream about the Signal, the Signal! Temperance had spent most of her day tracking down a spiritual violation, a nearly-silent scream that seemed to pervade the entire city. Their separate investigations had lead them to an experimental physicist of ASTRO Labs who hadn’t been in the office for two weeks, and from there to a home his family had owned three generations ago. Apparently the family’s fortunes had fallen from the Forties, but the man had returned to his roots for whatever scheme was afoot.

  18. December 17, 2014. The West End, Silverman’s Books. Unknown Parallel Earth. Unknown amount of time after sunset. The books were getting a little dusty. Wynn Epstein hadn’t been inside in a few months, since the rebellion’s last gasp took a few employees…off the payroll. But today she was back, and cleaning up. New glass windows to replace the boarded up and broken ones. In the morning, a few new eager employees from Claremont would be by to help out, and best of all, a Carson security robot was schedules for delivery to keep things orderly. Everything was going to go just fine, and soon enough, the store would reopen. That was the plan. Meanwhile, Cerwyn Pefr was chasing down a thief. Yes, the world was largely peaceful and crime-free since the rebellion had been put down, but crime didn’t just magically go away. Heh, magically. The thief was fast. No. She was a teleporter. Moving from shadow to shadow. He touched his commlink. “Kit, it’s Blod. Can you catch this one? I’m having some trouble here. Seems she’s a teleporter.†Christina Vance, alias Kit, rolled her eyes. “She’s not a ‘porter. Just faster than eyes. I’ll get her.†Chris wasn’t what anyone would call subtle about it, either. A massive ball of fire flashed past the thief, stopping her short. She glanced around for a hiding spot-and found a store with the lights still on. She bolted inside, never bothering to notice that the fireball didn’t actually damage anything. In fact, there wasn’t even a wisp of smoke to prove it was ever there. Blod frowned. “You call that getting her?†He jogged up near the store, stepped into a shadow, and vanished from sight. “The freshmen can do better.†Kit popped out of the shadow next to him. She towered over the diminuative Welsh boy. “She’s off the street, isn’t she?†Inside the shop, Wynn was quite surprised by her guest’s sudden appearance. “I’m sorry, but we’re not open yet. Try again in a week?†This young woman was an archer, judging by the bow on her back. And, as Lynn abruptly learned as she stepped up to Wynn in the blink of an eyes, she was very fast. “I’m sorry. There’s a couple of people after me. They’ve got bad intentions and I’m not anywhere near invulnerable, so I’ve been on the run for a bit. Can I hide out for a few minutes?†Wynn was prepared to tell her to leave now, please…but on closer examination she bore a striking resemblance to one of her lost employees. Her heartstrings twinged, and she sighed. “All right. Bathroom’s in the back. Water…should work.†But before either of them could do anything else, Blod and Kit burst into the store. The young woman tossed a glance that screamed “HELP!†in Wynn’s direction. The timid young woman refused to lose her dear employee a second time, and she activated her fae magic. Blod and Kit had no choice but to defend themselves. Magic twisted, clashed, and surprisingly melded. There was a brilliant flash of light, and the store was empty. December 17, 2014. The West End, Silberman’s Books. Earth Prime. 7:43 PM. Cerys Pefr was taking Lynn Epstein’s offer of visiting the store. The Welsh girl and the fairy were having one of the most disjointed conversations of all time when the store was abruptly illuminated by a bright light and four people tumbled out of the air and onto the floor. The lone male of the group grumbled in a familiar accent to Cerys.“Gods curse it, Toni. You couldn’t just give me back my vid, could you?†The boy could almost be from Wales, but something was slightly off. “Now, again. We’re in another dimension, again. We’re gonna have to figure out where we are so Kit can port us back. Again.†For the parts of Tona Baudlin and Samantha Vance, the two lovebirds were enjoying a night in, when the hubbub distracted them from their activities. Specifically, Robin Hood: Men in Tights (along with a few other choice Mel Brooks movies) and a truly ridiculous amount of snacks. A certain mutual acquaintance had recommended the man’s work, and well…so far, so good.

  22. GMLacandan Jungle Chiapas, Mexico Monday, June 1st, 2015 3:04 AM Six hours. It took Six Hours and onetime zones for Miracle Girl to fly Blodeuwedd into Mexico under the cover of night. And it would take another six hours to fly back. Casey was the only other student on campus who could cross the distance that the Welsh ninja could find despite it being so early in the morning. The senior was on a bit of a timeline as it were with the festivities later on in the day. But, when the Raven herself shows up in the middle of your dorm explaining there is a situation. Well, one didn't argue. The family of a pro Zapatista diplomat had been taken captive by mercenaries in an unknown location within the confines of the Lacandan Jungle. The diplomat was also being held captive. Supposedly, they wanted him to make a press conference filled. Or at least that's what the few people in government who had. The Raven presented Cerys with more information. The captors did not in fact political goals in mind. The Zapatistas had uncovered a Preserver artifact within a Mayan ruin and had chosen to hide it, deeming the artifact too dangerous and far too untrusting of the central government to hand it over to them for safe keeping. Only someone caught wind of the discovery. And they wanted the artifact badly enough to kill. An explosive situation that found Casey and Cerys in the middle of the jungle. Silently making a ground approach to try and find the mercenary camp site.
