  1. "A friend of the Espadas... Espadases, Espadaii? Talya?" Ace replied when Davyd called to arrange a meeting finally settling on his old friend sans surname "Think nothing of it, swing by the manor, next Tuesday afternoon?" The ageless man of mystery effortlessly encouraged not offput in the slightest by the out of hte blue call. When Davyd arrived at the imposing manor house of the Danger clan the gates swung wide and awaiting him at the end of the manicured drive was a positively ancient butler in full black and whites gloves and all, "Young master Ace is expecting you." he intoned breathily without a hint of irony in his voice, "He awaits in the conservatory." not waiting for a response he turned to lead the young man through the storied halls of the manor at a surprisingly quick pace for a man of his apparent age. Throwing open the glass paned doors the butler announced in his same reedy tone, "Master Palahniuk to call on master Ace." beyond the doors tables lined with lush exotic flora and the heady smells of earth and humidity nearly obscured the famed adventurer as he carefully pruned one of the plants with a delicate pair of shears. "Thank you Georg." Ace called out and waved for Davyd to come in. Georg closing the doors behind the young man and shuffling off to his other duties. "Welcome Davyd, can I offer you a drink?" Ace politely invited as he finished his final cut and set the shears down, "How can I help?" he inquired with a paternal smile. He seemed open and affable comforting even in his demeanor but there was something in the appraising way his eyes darted over his guests form that spoke to the age and experience behind the innocuous question.
  2. The Danger! mobile slid into traffic not long after Frost had called his old friend about the newcomer the league had recently completed debriefing. Weaving effortlessly through traffic the famed car roared to a stop in a spot reserved for league members, Ace not for the first time shook his head at the absurd sign, when was the last time anyone but Frost actually drove and he borrowed a League car from the motor pool. He hopped out of the open top of the convertible and strode up to the stammering security guard with a wink as he took the mans hand palming a generous tip as he did so, "Now you keep a good eye on her for me son." he bade and with a snappy salute jogged up the steps to the main entrance flashing a smile to a familiar face behind the security checkpoint, "Charlie! how're the kids?" he asked as he made directly for the bypass waiting expectantly for the senior security officer he'd gotten the entry level job for almost a lifetime ago. He flirted briefly with the receptionist as he waited for the elevator and rode casually up to the floor they'd indicated the newcomer awaited. Frost having been called off for some business she was currently overseen by some staffers as Ace arrived taking in the scene in the small waiting area with a raised brow before stepping forward, "Greetings and Salutations." the immortal greeted warmly, "Ace Danger at your service, Dmitri suggested you might be in need of a guide?" he smiled wide. Yes this was going to be an interesting task indeed.

    Star Fall

Location: Liberty Park Date: July 22, 2019; 10:07 AM Star Child It was a lovely morning in Liberty Park, not yet hot enough to drive people to air conditioned environments and full of summer sunlight. Children were playing, there were teens skateboarding along the path. The athletic fields were full of people playing mid-morning matches of one sport or another. It was a perfect, peaceful Freedom City morning in July though if anyone was was used to how things could change in an instant, it was the citizens of Freedom City. There were a few scattered shouts as people sun bathing or otherwise paying attention to the sky noticed the sudden streak of light. Of course, it could be a super hero with a contrail but it just... didn't look quite right. Freedom City was used to seeing the occasional flying form in the sky. This... well, it didn't look anything like that! For one thing, it was coming straight down towards the park with a glowing red contrail. "Oh my god, its a meteor!" That's about when people started to grab things and run just in case. A few - a very few - eagle eyed individuals, watching the rock drop out of the heavens noticed that it swerved suddenly. Where it should have impacted the athletic field, right in the middle of a soccer match, it veered suddenly and sharply, landing with a splash and a column of hissing steam at the edge of Sunset Lake instead, just across the path from the shocked soccer players.
  4. Saturday September Eighth 2018 10:00 AM Espadas School of Self-Defense and Swordsmanship But for the low hum of an electric motor and the tinted windows the Danger International fleet car that pulled to the curb a few car lengths from the Espadas Dojo was nondescript and would hardly elicit note from passer by. This was perhaps slightly less true about it's occupants. Before exiting the car Ace turned to his niece. "Alright so, as I said, he's the best, but also a little touchy about keeping a low profile." which was to say had a standing threat to stab Ace should he descend on his home with reporters again. "So uh, casual is hte rule I guess?" Low profile was really no more in Aces vocabulary than his companions, luckily this was actually nothing but a legitimate visit for the establishments actual purpose. That said the immortal adventurer hopped from the car and strode confidently up to the doors to the dojo slipping inside to await the proprietor, he'd even done the due diligence of arriving between scheduled classes.
  5. GM ???? ????, Freedom City, New Jersey Wednesday, October 5th, 2016 ???? PM Ace Danger When Ace awoke he found himself in a room of mirrors. His lips were notably dry. Having no memory of how he came to be in what appeared to be a funhouse mirror room, Ace could take comfort in the fact that he seemed to still possess much of his equipment. But, it was hard to say if the internationally renowned man of mystery was traveling a little light when the past few hours were a haze. Arcturus When Arcturus awoke his mouth felt unusually dry. He found himself bereft of memories of the past few hours. Leaving him with absolutely no explanation how he found himself in a seemingly empty corridor. Empty, but not silent the sounds of bells and whistles flooded his head. Accompanied by a loud thud every so often as the sound of an object colliding against a nearby wall reverberated through the area. The opposite of the corridor seemed to open up into different pathways, whereas the path behind Marcus seemed to have no other hallways and simply a single door. Wayward Valerie Cain had some vague notion of what how she found herself in this predicament. After all, it was during her concert that things took a turn for the ugly. She was just about to start her set for the crowd, after warming them up with a plead to donate their old toys to the charity drive funding the concert. That was when the gas hit... But, that was then. Now Wayward found herself playing for an entirely different crowd. A pack of lions encircled her. Armed only with her wits and a low cheaply made microphone, Valerie Cain transitioned to her latest career move as a lion tamer.
  6. With the team gone an eerie silence settled over the suddenly too large, open, and vulnerable dojo. The children were fitful in their beds the tension in the household penetrating their slumber though not yet waking them. Gina wheeled herself silently around the kitchen completing the tasks left unfinished by the evening's interruptions with a quiet efficiency that belied the worry etching her face. Jill was left to monitor the security systems with VINCE looking for signs of anything out of the ordinary Talyas final advice ringing in her ears, "When they know we've come for them there's no telling what he might do, don't let him draw you out, and be ready for anything." Dimitri sat in the control room at freedom hall monitoring the police and military bands for anything unusual fortunate that he'd been left behind from the rest of the league's mission to free a small town in Vermont from Glaciers grasp when Talyas call for aid reached him. The usual dispatch and report of the police bands suddenly shifted as an evacuation was called for a West End neighborhood, a 'Gas Leak' but no chatter on the utilities and the order sent from some office of public safety the league had no ties to or information about. All too convenient. Across town Klara sat in a parkside cafe sipping her tea when Talyas request to be on alert reached her, perhaps it was for the best after all her wife had been called into the embassy tonight, it seemed date night was destined for interruption this week. She had just finished her cuppa when a caravan of firetrucks blazed past heading east sirens screaming into the night. Ace hunched forward over his desk phone pressed to his ear, "Those were supposed to have burned up over the pacific after the invasion." he sighed very nearly sounding his age as he hung up the phone and stood pulling on his coat and hat with a disgusted glance at the phone before he stormed out of the office shouting orders to the staff.
  7. The OOC for Look What You Made Me Do The assumption here is Talya contacted her friends to be on alert that the interceptors were addressing a threat and the kids et al might be in danger. Vince and Jill will take note of the police and fire activity and reveal that there is an evacuation in progress for a gas leak. Vince however can detect no fluctuations in gas pressure that would indicate any truth to that. The fire trucks passing klara are clearly heading for hte west end. As people spill into the streets they will grow congested making swift evacuation difficult if not impossible. feel free to message me with any other questions or clarifications
  8. It was a small list - the friends that Talya still had from her time among the Allies of Freedom was a small list that grew smaller yet every year. Most of them - all of them, really - had public personas just as flashy as Natalya Browning's public facade. They were also well aware that Talya's actual private life was something she had always kept decidedly so, so the understanding that discretion was expected was well understood alongside her invitation to visit the recently renovated apartments above the Espadas' School. Well, to most of them, it was likely well understood. For Ace, she made the effort to include a pointed phone call alongside sending a private town car - lest she get the damn Dangermobile hovering outside a window just because he wanted to tease. It might have been any other cheerful weekend afternoon at the rather noisy home of four very young children. That Talya was tense was only clear to those who knew her very well - and those who could compare her usual level of tidiness to the current downright sparkling level of cleanliness in an apartment with very young children. It was, frankly, unnatural to see the living room looking like something out of a magazine as the blonde Brit frowned before going to rearrange the art fully folded quilt on the couch's arm for the third time.
  9. It wasn't entirely uncommon for Raina's training sessions to be unconventional, really. After all, Talya had made her practice running in heels and picking locks. The immortal spy's idea of well rounded skills was, to say the least, unconventional. Still, there was something out of the ordinary for even her training sessions when she arrived to the dojo and was hustled in quickly by a robed Talya. "Excellent, you're here. Just enough time to get changed," she told Raina, shooing her towards the restroom and a gown hanging on the back of a stall and a pair of shoes. "High end society - old money." Talya volunteered with a nod towards the cosmetics before vanishing towards the door to get ready herself although it wouldn't take her long at all. She was well used to the art of the quick change. "And we've just under an hour to be gone before Erik gets back for his evening lessons to make our escape. Never ask permission for what you can apologize for in the morning... Honestly, that's terrible relationship advice. I'm rather lucky that they're quite so indulgent. I'll wait outside the door."
  10. The IC! Notice or sense motive say DC 15 for the robbers gettin ready to rob. Ace'll get an HP for his distraction.
  11. Thursday, June 1st 2017 10:00AM Riverside Community Savings and Loan Sunny and Humid The blustery spring thaw had long since gave way to the balmy heat of the season and with it the accompanying "good cheer". Of course none of this was helped by a pace that could only be called glacial, in some final and cruel irony, with which the line moved. The line to the business window was little better given the number of business owners and managers grabbing extra change for the weekend ahead of the rush and the highly cash dependant nature of the artisanal shops that dotted the tree lined boulevards of riverside made it all the more necessary. Ray was reminded not for the first time why he usually made this busywork for an apprentice. Behind the almost angelic being, Ace Danger stood nonchalantly in his disguise as he waited to empty a safe deposit box left over from his brief semi disowned period in the late eighties. He wasn't even entirely sure what he had left in the riverside stash but clearly it had seemed important enough to go above and beyond the usual bus station locker that was the norm for that less than exemplary period of his long life. Idly examining the man in front of him he was much distracted by the twisting runes hidden by the more vibrant inks of the painted man lest he might have taken note of the unseasonably heavy coats of the men who slowly filtered into the busy bank and arrayed themselves around the lobby with practiced precision.
  12. 09/11/2016 12:35 PM The Boardwalk Freedom City It really does say something about Freedom City that the men and women on the Boardwalk weren't overly concerned by the sudden sound of speeding cars. The echo of revving engines up and down the long wooden walks. The squealing of rubber tires. Oh, I grant you, the majority of the citizens present still dove for safety when a trio of multicolored sports cars came screaming past, but they didn't let it end their perfectly nice shopping day on Freedom City's famous Boardwalk. The call had come in a few hours before - an 'anonymous tip' from a 'concerned citizen'. Five cars, complete with descriptions of license plates, would be stolen from the parking lot of one of the most expensive hotels in Freedom City. Cars worth millions - tens, if not hundreds of millions - in value. One, even belonging to a noted diplomat visiting from the Middle East. Thanks to the vigilant efforts of the FCPD, two had been stopped at the lot - one by catching the thief in the hotel bar's washroom (attempting to flush a shoe down the toilet?), and the other just before he'd jacked the door. It was the remaining three that were giving the FCPD headaches trying to catch. The first was a Lamborghini (because of course one was a Lamborghini) - it tore down one of the Boardwalk's straightaways, managing to take the lead for a few minutes - skidding around a corner on two wheels. Black, with red neon underlights; she belonged to a notable reality star who was currently screaming at one of the police officers in the hotel parking lot about how she'd sue the pants off anyone who so much as scratched it. The second, riding right on it's tail, was a lovely Ferrari. Cherry-red, of course, and belonging to a pleasantly tubby multi-millionaire internet tycoon; producer of the notable Irate Fowl knockoff of a popular video game series. He wasn't threatening to sue the pants off whoever scratched it, he was more threatening to ruin their credit scores. Yeah, he was one of those people. Bit late for it, either way - the thief behind the wheel wasn't that subtle about ploughing through a souvenir stand, and a Centurion shirt was currently flying like a flag off the back spoiler. And the last...oh, the last. Neon yellow Bugatti Veyron. This was the diplomat's vehicle. Import, with diplomatic plates, and who knew what in the glove compartment. This one was steadily remaining in the middle of the pack, the driver the most conservative of the three. Not to say he wasn't a point of concern - he'd escaped the parking lot by ramping off an asphalt pile and flying over the retaining wall. Credit where it was due, however, the gentleman in the turban who owned the car hadn't stated any threats or made any violent statements of intent if his car was damaged. He didn't really have to - savvy? Either way, under the circumstances - made sense when multiple networks monitored by heroes of the city started screaming blue murder begging for help before someone got killed, eh? Let's see who answered the call and why!
  13. Wednesday April 27, 2016 Washington, DC AEGIS Headquarters The AEGIS headquarters in Washington, DC is not where most of the field agents are posted - the single largest AEGIS facility is located in Freedom City. This building, one of dozens of other square glass boxtowers built along the Anacostia River, is a place of bureaucrats; payroll clerks and human resources types, archivists and pension planners, the thousands of other workers whose unglamorous jobs keep the glamorous agents of AEGIS fed, happy, and well-paid. The MAX Armor agents kept on staff here are there mostly to deal with supervillains whose research for major super-battles consists of Googling "AEGIS Headquarters." With a heavy BOOM, the last of the MAX agents hit the parking lot asphalt, the sound of impact soon drowned out by the cataclysmic storm overhead. As millions of fist-sized hailstones rain down on AEGIS, tough windows cracking but not shattering, as lightning splits the sky overhead, a voice breaks the heavens, carried by the thunder itself. Although it seems to crack the air above AEGIS headquarters, it echoes across the city, reflected by nearly every surface in an intimidating feat of acoustics. "LADIES. GENTLEMEN. HERE WE ARE, AT THE HEART OF THE CANCER THAT CALLS ITSELF 'POLITICS.' FOR TOO LONG, YOU HAVE DEFIED THE WILL OF THE EARTH! YOU HAVE CRAFTED LAWS THAT ENABLE AND SHELTER THOSE WHO SPILL POISON UPON THE LAND AND THE SEA! YOU HAVE SHELTERED THOSE WHO IMPRISON AND TORTURE THEIR FELLOW CREATURES, DOING NOTHING AS THESE BUTCHERS CONDUCT A BLOOD-STAINED CAMPAIGN ENDING IN THE DEVOURING OF FLESH! YOU WASTE YOUR TIME WITH SENTIMENT AS PEOPLE ARE ENCOURAGED TO WASTE THE SEED AND THE EGG, DENYING THE CREATION OF NEW LIFE! THE STORM WILL COME TO SWEEP AWAY ALL YOU PERVERTS, POLLUTERS, AND OTHER FILTH - AND I AM THE STORM! WHEN THE HARD RAIN FALLS UPON YOU, YOU WILL KNOW YOU HAVE A CHOICE TO MAKE. REPENT YOUR SINS... OR BE WASHED AWAY."
  14. GM post Sunday, February 28th 2016 10:30 AM Espadas School of Self-Defense and Swordsmanship, Private Apartments "It is still early for a Sunday Ma'am." the personal assistant suggested quietly, the protest fell however on deaf ears. "Marjorie, If this was not time sensitive I wouldn't be bothering the poor woman." came the reply clipped but not cold, "Besides they have children and I have raised enough of those to know late mornings are likely the least of their concerns." She added a bit more warmly, "Make the call please." Thus on the crisp february morning the phone in the apartment housing the ever growing Espadas family began to ring. The number was blocked, and at a very high level though expertise such as the household AI like as not could break it in short order and reveal the call as originating from Danger Internationals sprawling Hannover Campus. When the phone was answered Marjorie spoke in a bright and clear tone, "Good morning, I'm trying to reach a Ms. Rebecka Danvers." she requested politely, "Is she available?"
  15. August 6th, Saturday Evening Freedom City, the Boardwalk Opening Night! Sir August Card has great pleasure in announcing The High Steaks Reopening Night August 6th Entrance $500 All inclusive food and drink Complementary $50 Chips for Gambling All night Event Places Limited This is a Card Productions Ltd Event Please refer to rules and regulations etc with regards to High Steaks gambling and conduct Strictly Black Tie Only No Riff-Raff So said the "open" invitation flyer. Of course, not many could afford such a swish event. And besides, the flyers had a habit of being onlcy circulated amongst the rich and powerful of Freedom City. Or, ideally, the rich and powerful. The last words of the flyer were often alluded to with an unspoken emphasis. After all, places were limited, and choices would have to be made. The High Steaks had been closed for a few months, done up, and looked even more resplendent than ever. It had always had an excellent reputation, but now, it seemed, it was gunning for a world class one. Stretch Limos dropped off well dressed couples, or singles (and even a well known playboy with a dame on each arm). The building looked neither completely modern or completely antiquated. Built in the 70s, it kept the best of that era and had styles both before and after bolted on. Perhaps it shouldn't have worked, but the refurbishment had clearly involved some excellent architects, artists, and builders, and it most certainly looked the part, in and out...
  16. This is the OOC. Feel free to ask me quite literally anything about the thread, especially if it doesn't make sense. I've likely missed something. As for vital details about the situation, I do believe I've covered it quite well. Though I will admit the sky is only properly darkened around the Canterbury Estate. Doesn't mean that North Bay isn't having a very bad afternoon, though.
  17. March 21. Freedom City. Port Royal. Shore of Lake MacKenzie. Helena Canterbury was a sheltered young woman. Born into wealth and privilege, she wanted for nothing. Except her freedom. She had the best of tutors. Private and very exclusive. The best schools and the finest university. All so that she’d be the all too worthy heir that the Canterbury family deserved. She was never given a choice or asked her opinion. Upholding the family name was the most important thing in the world. And yet…university provided a small window, a way to spread her wings a little. She joined a poetry club, where her skill at macabre verse was immediately compared to Edgar Allen Poe. The small window, once opened in such a way, allowed all sorts of emotions to spill out. Helena had always resented her family and the seemingly vast circle of other people deeply invested in her success as the Canterbury heir. They never showed any interest in what she liked. In who she was as a person. The little sparks of poetic and artistic creativity, the oddball clothing she wore when she could, the interesting quirks of personality she at times displayed…all met with fierce disapproval. Don’t be like that. Be like this. Be what’s wanted. What’s expected. What’s necessary. Helena’s anger burned inside her, but she was not strong enough to oppose her parents. They had trained her too well. She had to be content with the little rebellions, like the poetry club. For now, it was spring break. She and two friends from the poetry club had come back to Freedom. They had bought a few things from an old costume shop in Lantern Hill, and now they were going to act perfectly silly. Helena put on the mask she had bought. Instantly, she noticed a change. The whisper of feathers. Birdsong. A great presence in the sky. She thought it would be nice if she could see it, and birds of all kinds appeared out of nowhere. They sang her songs of understanding. Of compassion. And of power. Sparrows, pidgeons, hawks and eagles. Birds smaller than her hand and almost as large as her. Crows and ravens. Helena smiled. Oh, yes. Strength at last. Vengeance would be hers. But her friends had earned her favor. With a thought they too were empowered, and their loyalties made unquestionable. She did not hear their screams of terror. They were not important. First she must find out her limitations. And then, plan well. Helena Canterbury was no more. Long live The Matriarch! March 25. Freedom City. North Bay. The Canterbury Estate. 3 PM. A flock of birds of all kinds darkened the skies about the North Bay. Screams echoed from many mansions as they broke windows and fluttered about everywhere, attacking nigh indiscriminately. For the smaller birds, like sparrows, this was not a life threatening attack. For the larger birds, like eagles, lives were very much in danger. Maybe a superhero could do something about it?
  18. Ace Danger Power Level: 15 (233/250PP) (PL 10 combat caps) Unspent Power Points: 17PP Trade-Offs: +1 Attack / -1 Damage, ± Defense / ± Toughness In Brief: Daring Boy Adventurer who grows into a Superspy and Immortal Playboy. Catchphrase: Theme: Alternate Identity: None Birthplace: Freedom City Residence: Danger Manor, North Bay, Freedom City Base of Operations: Danger Manor, North Bay, Freedom City Occupation: International Man of Mystery Affiliations: Allies of Freedom*, Danger Industries, Liberty League*, AEGIS*, Freedom League*, The Jungle Patrol* (*Former Ally/Member) Family: The Danger Family Description: Age: 90 (July 4th 1925) Apparent Age: 22 Gender: Male Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 6' Weight: 185lbs Eyes: Blue Hair: Blond Ace has a sturdy six foot frame not overly muscled but certainly well defined in an almost careless way that suggests given effort he could develop quite the physique. His head is topped by thick blonde locks that are maintained in a perfect semblance of disarray. He retains much of his fathers classic lines but softened slightly, a strong jaw and chin, but not quite chiseled, his bright blue eyes always have a slight twinkle of mischief dancing in them. Despite his advanced age he appears an attractive man of 24. He dresses well socially though favors a somewhat beaten down Fedora and bomber jacket while "on duty", and favors a kind of retro chic look without looking like he can't keep up with the times. History: The first of the Danger children was born on July 4th 1925, named Ace after Ace Adams his godfather also his father's pilot and close companion through many an adventure. His early childhood was fairly normal despite his father's extended absences with two more siblings following A brother and a sister (the youngest) over the next five years. The family relocated to Africa where his famed father made his fortune in diamonds of dubious origins by today's standards. Once Ace reached the age of eight his father decided to make up for lost time and Ace joined him on his various adventures throughout the 30's and into the early 40's despite the dangers Ace enjoyed this time though he was always felt he had fallen short of his fathers larger than life expectations of his first born. As Ace came of age his brother was included in more and more of his father's travels and Ace found himself at loose ends. While he could certainly claim a unique education it was perhaps even worse suited than he was to academia. Eventually, wishing to prove himself on his own merits he lied about his age and signed up with the army his skills, and family name, earning him placement with the sometimes empowered special forces operating often behind enemy lines. After the War it wasn't long before his maverick stylings and controversial activities had him discharged (honorably thanks to family connections) to his father's deep disappointment. After his socially disastrous, if technically successful, military career Ace fell to the baser accusations of his father and became the exact layabout his father claimed him to be and dear old dad seemed to just give up and instead focused on his second born Rex. By 1950 Ace had earned quite the reputation as a libertine and despite the efforts of Little sister Donna to control the rumors he was steadily eroding the family's reputation. Her answer was simple and with some maneuvering of family money and contacts she neatly made him someone else's problem as he was inducted into service with the CIA where he was the very picture of the dashing spy later immortalized in print and film. He roamed the world much as he had with his father only now it was a deadly game of cat and mouse with the Soviets rather than thwarting Nazi schemes. He was well suited to the work and relished the risk. Due to his unique contacts and knowledge from his days traveling with his father he was assigned to the more esoteric missions no simple spying on ambassadors for Johnny Dangers son when there were communist backed voodoo cults in Havana or Soviet researchers developing doomsday devices in the himalayas. His fast and loose interpretation of regulations kept him fairly stationary in the organization despite his successes but at least he wasn't bored. It was during this time that his training with Shambala monks and blessings from witch doctors and voodoo queens led to some of his more extraordinary abilities though he carefully hid these from his antsy employers given the political climate. It was only natural that when the fledgling AEGIS organization cropped up he was optioned off to it though that barely lasted a year before he was drummed out for disrespecting a superior officer. The family stepped in once more to keep the specifics quiet but he was still blacklisted form government work. By this time his sister and her children were fully running Danger Industries and his father was retired having passed the torch to Rex who continued to live up to all of the Danger elders expectations. Ace for his part also prided himself on living up to every claim his father made. He with pride says that his actions alone supported the fledgling tabloid industry through the sixties and early seventies and it's not far from the truth. He publicly partook of much of the worst the decades had to offer and was the center of most major scandals of the era. Likely he much like the rest of the country would have continued on the self destructive course they were on if not for the Big One. The Terminus invasion was a rather brutal wake-up call for everyone but it was particularly so for Ace. His brother Rex had recently spirited him away from yet another party gone too far when the call came in. The city was under attack. Rex being Rex immediately spun the car in the direction of the trouble and told Ace to stay out of the way if he could. They never even had a chance as the burning lance of energy sliced through the car. Ace's last memory was his brothers scream as they were both vaporized. Ace woke up still in the tangled wreckage of the car after it was all over. In the end Rex was yet another in a long list of Heroes who fell in the invasion, Ace was sure to embellish the story the press got, to everyone else Rex went out like a Hero should. His brothers death affected Ace strongly, he had experience and more than a few tricks up his sleeve, he would do what Rex would have wanted. He became a Hero too, though granted still with his own specific idiom. In hero work a handsome smile and flare for the dramatic turned out to be as much a benefit as it had been a hindrance in his days at the agency. Of course he still had his father's globe trotting tendencies and soon was swept up in events throughout the world. His niece Rachel is fairly supportive of such activities but has slowly convinced him to stick to freedom city for now on and with Ace Danger is back in town the funs sure to start soon. Personality & Motivation: Ace has really been training for the Hero gig almost since birth and despite some unorthodox methods he's good at it. He's a larger than life personality from a larger than life family and lives it up as such. To most appearances he's a shallow attention grabbing playboy with too many toys, and that's not entirely inaccurate but he does have a strong sense of justice and feels a responsibility for the people of freedom. Rex's death pulled him out of a pretty self destructive spiral but that hasn't kept him from having fun while doing good in the here and now. Coming up and living his long life in the public eye as a hero or sidekick as the times have called for has left him distinctly out of touch with those less immersed in the world of high adventure. He knows no life but the absurd one that he calls his own and knows a certain loneliness drawn from that. Even other Heroes often have downtime or off camera moments, for Ace every day is another day on duty and privacy, though not secrecy, is all but unknown. Powers & Tactics: Every person who asks how Ace got his talents gets a different answer each more unbelievable than the last some of them are probably even true. He has been blessed by mystics of many traditions for long life and that's likely the actual core reason for his immortality, He most often will say however that he's to pretty to die. In his travels he has also picked up more than a few tricks. He has learned many martial arts forms from various groups through the years that has left him a capable hand to hand fighter though no specific style really take preeminence and his fathers wicked left hook is still his most signature move. 19. Ace Danger Power Level: 10 (211/211PP) Unspent Power Points: 0 Trade-Offs: +1 Attack / -1 Damage, ±0 Defense / ±0 Toughness In Brief: Daring Boy Adventurer who grows into a Superspy and Immortal Playboy. He has also trained with various yogi's and mystics throughout the world to hone his mind and has picked up on the tricks that he most liked granting him a suite of mind tricks harnessing the power of his mind. He has also made some upgrades to his home to better fit with his new "super" lifestyle, using daka crystals he has pulled it off the grid and installed a communications and computing suite made it in his mind the perfect luxurious base of operations. He augments his training and vast collection of super tech and mysterious curios with some special items from his days as boy adventurer and super spy. 20. Ace Danger Interdimensional man of mystery and immortal adventurer across the ages. Ace Danger began his career with his two fisted adventuring Father Johnny Danger of the Jungle Patrol, Served with the Allies of Freedom in the second world war, Battled Shadow and Communism alike as a gentleman spy through the cold war and has earned a reputation as rake and libertine across more than one dimension in his wide travels. His unique life has left him with a wide net of allies, associates, enemies, treasures and a wealth of experience in the most outlandish of adventures. History Birth to 1933: Ace was born in freedom at the estate his father had purchased shortly after his return from the first of many African ventures that earned the family it's wealth. In the early years his father was a distant figure who was heard to say of the boy, "I'd just assume wait until he turns into a person to spend time with him." Ace was close to his mother in his youth and grew more so when at age three the family moved to a small home in Ghana not far from the diamond mines that were the primary family venture of the time. He was not at this age the frontier child his father expected him to be doing little to improve their relationship. His mother he of course adored and she perhaps coddled the youth so out of his element in those early years though she did ground him in the good the family was able to do living closer to his fathers pursuits and taught him a deep respect for the native born of the community. Not long after his eighth birthday his father decided to become more engaged in Ace's upbringing and Ace began to travel with Johnny Danger and the Jungle Patrol on their ventures. 1933-1942 The Jungle Patrol: Ace traveled with his father on minor ventures considered by the times to be safe as early as age five, however it was at eight years of age that Ace's career with the Jungle Patrol truly began with what would later be cataloged as the famed, 'Jungle Patrol and the Tomb of the Boy Pharaoh!' serial. It was intended to be a mundane excursion to visit an archaeology dig at the behest of team antiquarian Huang 'Hong Kong Harry' Chun. The Tomb it turned out bore a curse and many traps and deadfalls, a harrowing experience for a boy of eight certainly but his quick wits and limber (and smaller) form allowed the young man to escape a trapped room and eventually to find his way to the heart of the tomb where he put the curse to rest by returning the boy Pharaoh's amulet. Reversing the rising tide of sands just in time to save the adults Ace was from then forward a constant companion and mascot of sorts to the Jungle Patrol. He was at his father's side for some of the most famed expeditions the Patrol undertook to the heights of the himalayas seeking the mysterious Yeti, or the depths of the sea exploring Atlantean ruins, and many more beside. Ace was a darling of the press upon the Patrols return from these ventures regaling them with tales from his diary which would later, very loosely, form the basis for the 'Ace Danger and the Jungle Patrol!' animated series in the years after the war. During his travels with the Jungle Patrol he was joined by Rahim, a boy of his own age and ward of the Danger family. The boys were fast friends, inseparable in their many adventures getting each other into and out of trouble at every turn. Toward the later years as Ace and Rahim blossomed into teens the Patrol was more and more often joined by Ace's younger brother Rex as well, Rex had lived the frontier life with the family in Africa longer than he was able to walk and in Aces mind at least was his fathers favorite. As Rex took on more and more of the mascot and youthful scamp role that Ace had once held Ace and rhim more and more took on adult responsibilities in the Patrol though still under the guidance of older members. Through these years Ace learned much of hte wide world and hidden lands and the peoples throughout them. He also became skilled to at least a small degree in the many arts and skills needed to keep an expedition going despite setbacks and conflict. As the war in Europe raged and the flames of the conflict spread to Africa and Southeast Asia the Jungle Patrol had greater and greater difficulty avoiding involvement. Nazi and Thule expeditions often raced the Patrol for potent artifacts that might turn the tide of war and the dangers grew. Patricia and the younger children returned to the states and the Jungle Patrol more and more often confronted the agents of the Axis powers though they remained nominally independent from the allied military. Ace however felt he had more to prove to his father who had often spoke of his time serving in the Great War with Ace Adams as a young man and lied about his age on his service papers joining the US Army. 1942-1945 The War Years: Ace was never destined to serve in the infantry and was forwarded immediately out of Basic Training to the OSS. Initially in the OSS and soon as a member of the Allies of Freedom Ace operated behind enemy lines often in North Africa, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia as a special liaison to local tribes as well as an agent provocateur. He saw some service in Europe particularly as the war closed in on the eastern theatre serving with other Allies of Freedom on occasion but primarily working in the realms of espionage and sabotage. He and his families many allies in the wild frontiers of the world were of great use in bringing local forces to bear on Nazi supply lines and later Aces own training in a wide variety of realms was put to good use undermining Nazi operations in europe in advance of the normandy invasions. Here he met and worked with other covert agents such as Bombshell and Comrade Frost as well as the more famed faces of the Allies of Freedom. Through much of this time his good friend Rahim was at his side though in later years of the war Rahim operated independently in the Middle east helping with local knowledge to stabilize the region as Allied troops were redeployed to Europe and later the Pacific. After the war there was less use for a famous and sometimes spoiled scion of a wealthy family in the armed services and Aces maverick stylings and less than circumspect romantic behaviors were no longer as easily overlooked. Though his service and familial connections ensured he was not publicly disavowed he was no longer welcome in the service. This never sat well with his father and led to a lengthy estrangement between the two men. 1945-1968 Ace Danger Gentleman Spy: Removal from the Army did not long put an end to Aces service. First as a hired hand of sorts for the short lived Strategic Services Unit and later the Central Intelligence Group. Ace traveled primarily in the Middle East and North Africa shoring up alliances with tribal leaders and nascent governments against the new threat of spreading communism between assorted personal ventures. When the CIA was formally created by the National Security Act in 1947 Ace was one of the first recruits his expertise outweighing the prevalent homophobia of early espionage organizations. Ace was brought into the Special Activities division then later AEGIS where he operated against both remnants of Shadow still manipulating events behind the scenes as well as Soviet agents, some of which had been close allies in the war years. Ace was at best reckless as an agent, while he got results his activities were rarely pursued with the subtlety of more traditional agents in the company. Most attributed this recklessness to his immortality though whispers abounded that his estrangement from his family or perhaps a romantic engagement gone wrong was at the root of his almost suicidal approach to espionage. Among the intelligence community his libertine tendencies were as legendary as his miraculous escapes and daring rescues. He was always it seemed one step ahead in a business where that was the bare minimum for success. In later years his actions, particularly against Shadow, would grow in fame when novelizations and films were made about his more high profile capers. He defined the carefree gentleman spy that while largely inaccurate served as a romantic notion for the public. By the late sixties his outrageous behavior grew to be more liability than benefit and more and more often he was deployed as distraction rather than actual agent, a tendency he resented despite on some level knowing it to be wise. He formally left the service on good terms after spending a few years bouncing between AEGIS and CIA command as the organizations tried to find a place for him in a world more and more driven by stable and staid intelligence practice and less and less the cowboy agent provocateur methods Ace personified. 1968-1979 Wandering Dilettante: After leaving the intelligence game behind Ace tried to reconnect with his family to middling success, it was in these years that he became most active in the assorted properties in production based on his life and that Danger Manor was built initially as a set for films and a short lived TV series about his many adventures. He acted in some as himself though usually could not be bothered to keep so grueling a schedule. He spoke at assorted engagements celebrating veterans and early heroes, wrote rather premature memoirs, and attended and managed an extensive social calendar in the days and sunk into the excesses of the era by night. Perhaps in some call out to his youth or his father he pursued expeditions to inhospitable regions and strange lands seeking something just out of reach, acceptance perhaps or maybe some sort of lost innocence of his youth. A long wake of broken hearts and angry parents led to Ace slowly being weaned from the spotlight by his family lest he cause too much embarrassment. In late 1979 Ace gave up any pretense of concealing his sexuality or for that matter more outlandish behaviors and the Danger family lost the ability to do much damage control beyond distancing themselves from his excesses. He became a black sheep of the family in a very public way though his brother Rex refused to treat him as such. Ace partied hard all night slept all day and started it up again week in week out. He lived as a cautionary tale of wealth, power and jaded immortal ennui run rampant. 1979-1993 The Lost Years: Ace partook of the worst excesses of the eighties with wild abandon. He was a jaded playboy throwing his sexuality and lifestyle in the faces of the pubic with outrageous stunt after outrageous stunt. He was of course even more beloved for it, a darling of the tabloids and those rebelling against the new straight and narrow popular culture. While decried by many for his outlandish behavior later observers would say his carefree and open attitude and devil may care demeanor did much to beat back the repression of the era or at least keep alive hope for those less protected by wealth and privilege that they were at the least not alone. Of course his frank and open abuse of assorted controlled substances and libertine sexual behavior landed him both in trouble with the law and the morality cops of the time. He was the poster child of all that was wrong with the decadence of modern society or a waving flag of freedom depending who one asked, polarizing in all things he did. But all parties must come to an end and for Ace the end was the resounding roar of an Omega Beam amidst the 1993 Terminus invasion. 1993-Present Ace Danger Interdimensional Man of Mystery: Ace was in his brothers sports car as Rex drove them both toward the city center in a desperate bid to maybe make a difference. He never got the chance, the entropic beam wasn't even aimed at them, Rex turned the car into the way of a stray disintegration beam to buy a bus time to empty. Ace woke up minutes later on the street alone, the bus was saved long enough for other heroes to get the civilians to safety, There wasn't even a scrap of Rex to bury. Rex's selfless sacrifice snapped Ace out of his decades old funk, his brother had remained certain that Ace was not a lost cause long after the rest of the Dangers had given up. Ace decided in that moment he owed it to his brother's memory to prove him right. Ace returned to the active heroics scene using almost a century of experience with the weird and wild to do good in the world, and look good doing it. Ace has done battle with many villains in the time since always using his unique skillset to buy him the edge he needed to bring them in. Equally at home on the streets or dancing between dimensions setting wrongs right Ace Danger is once again a force for good and for awesome. Costume and Appearance Standing at a solid six feet Ace is tall but not towering, with a sculpted athletic figure. His delicate features are set of with bright and alert Blue eyes and a full head of blond hair most often in that unique state of purposefully mussed that is so popular today. Day to day wear varies as the occasion requires though casual day to day wear is relaxed slacks, casual shirt under a rough and ready bomber jacket topped by his hallmark rumpled brown fedora. This also serves as his standard wear while active in superheroics or other adventure. Powers The core of Ace's super-human power is his immortality, his youthful adventures in tombs and mystic lands has rewarded him with life eternal. He does not age, is untouched by toxins and disease, and will recover from even the most grievous of wounds. Beyond his immortal form Ace has nearly a century of training and experience in the wide world of superheroics, gifts and treasures from many places and esoteric training in a wide variety of arts martial and esoteric. If he hasn't dealt with a similar situation chances are his wealth of experience will buy him time to tap into a more than a lifetime's worth of comrades and cohorts who have. Allies Ace has friends around hte world, and a few in others, that he can call upon for favors here and there. However there are some that he is closer to than others. He shares a bond of common service with Bombshell and Comrade Frost after they served together in the war and have remained friendly if not allied through differing sides of the cold war and the law over the times since. He remains close to the former members of hte Jungle Patrol who yet live as well and through Huang 'Hong Kong Harry' Chun is allied with the enigmatic Phantom. Through their forebears he knows both Mark 'Edge' Lucas as well as the mysterious Midnight (II). And of course he can call upon the wealth and influence of his family should the situation require, the Danger Family and Danger International have resources that eclipse even his own impressive holdings. Danger Manor The Danger family owns many properties and homes from penthouses in the city to rustic cabins and high end homes in the best neighborhoods of their chosen cities. Ace bases himself out of Danger Manor, Originally built as a set piece for the Ace Danger serials in his younger days it has been updated with the best that Ace's long career could acquire. The opulent mansion is not only a fully functional home with all the amenities, it also is possessed of the features popularized from ti's days as a set and the former production areas reworked into training rooms and security centers from which the entire house can be monitored. Hidden docks and landing pads, underground garage, advanced communications and computer technology and a Dakanan power generator keeps it independent from the power grid. The many rooms are filled with artifacts and treasures from his years of travels and adventures. Timeline Lost to the Sands of site migrations...
  21. Ace Danger Power Level: 13/15 (200/223PP) Trade-Offs: None Unspent PP: 23 Alternate Identity: None Height: 6' Weight: 185 Hair: Blonde Eyes: Blue Description: Ace has a sturdy six foot frame not overly muscled but certainly well defined in an almost careless way that suggests given effort he could develop quite the physique. History: The first of the Danger children was born on July 4th 1925, named Ace after Ace Adams his godfather also his fathers pilot and close campanion through many an adventure. His early childhood was fairly normal despite his fathers extended absences with two more sibblings following A brother and a sister (the youngest) over the next five years. The family relocated to Africa where his famed father made his fortune in diamonds of dubious origins by todays standards. Once Ace reached the age of eight his father decided to make up for lost time and Ace joined him on his various adventures throughout the 30's and into the early 40's despite the dangers Ace enjoyed this time though he was always felt he had fallen short of his fathers larger than life expectations of his first born. As Ace came of age his brother was included in more and more of his fathers travels and Ace found himself at loose ends. While he could certainly claim a unique education it was perhaps even worse suited than he was to acedemia. Eventually, out of boredom as much as anythign else, he joined the military. By the time he was out of basic of course the war had drawn to a close and his family name was considered more of an asset than any of his skills. It wasn't long before his mavrick stylings and controversial activities had him discharged (honorably thanks to family connections) to his fathers deep disapointment. After his socialy disasterous military career Ace fell to the baser accusations of his father and became the exact layabout his father claimed him to be and dear old dad seemed to just give up and instead focused on his second born Rex. By 1950 Ace had earned quite the reputation as a libertine and despite the efforts of Little sister Donna to control the rumors he was steadily erroding the familys reputation. Her answer was simple and with some manuevering of family money and contacts she neatly made him some one elses problem as he was inducted into service with the CIA where he was the very picture of the dashing spy later immortalized in print and film. He roamed the world much as he had with his father only now it was a deadly game of cat and mouse with the Soviets rather than twarting Nazi schemes. He was well suited to the work and relished the risk. Due to his unique contacts and knowledge from his days traveling with his father he was assighned to the more esoteric missions no simple spying on abasadors for Johnny Dagers son when there were communist backed voodoo cults in Havana or Soviet reaserchers developing doomsday devices in the himalayas. His fast and loose interpretation of regulations kept him fairly stationary in the organization despite his successes but at least he wasn't bored. It was during this time that his training with Shambala monks and blessings from witch doctors and voodoo queens led to some of his more extrodinary abilities though he carefully hid these from his antsy employers given the political climate. It was only natural that whent he fledgling AEGIS organization cropped up he was optioned off to it though that barely lasted a year before he was drummed out for disrespecting a superior officer. The family stepped in once more to keep the specifics quiet but he was still blacklisted form government work. By this time his sister and her children were fully running Danger Industries and hsi father was retired having passed the torch to Rex who continued to live up to all of the Danger elders expectations. Ace for his part also prided himself on living up to every claim his father made. He with pride says that his actions alone supported the feldgling tabloid industry through the sixties and early seventies and its not far from the truth. He publicly partook of much of the worst the decades had to offer and was teh center of most major scandels of the era. Likely he much like the rest of the counrty would have continued on the self destructive course they were on if not for the Big One. The Terminus invasion was a rather brutal wake-up call for everyone but it was particularly so for Ace. His brother Rex had recently spirited him away from yet another party gone too far when the call came in. The city was under attack. Rex being Rex immediatly spun the car in the direction of the trouble and told Ace to stay out of the way if he could. They never even had a chance as the burning lance of energy sliced through the car. Ace's last memory was his brothers scream as they were both vaporized. Ace woke up still in the tangled wreckage of the car after it was all over. In the end Rex was yet another in a long list of Heroes who fell in the invasion, Ace was sure to embelish the story the press got, to everyone else Rex went out like a Hero should. His brothers death affected Ace strongly, he had experiance and more than a few tricks up his sleeve, he would do what Rex would have wanted. He became a Hero too, though granted still with his own specific idiom. In hero work a handsome smile and flare for the dramatic turned out to be as much a benefit as it had been a hindrance in his days at the agency. Of course he still had his fathers globe trotting tendancies and soon was swept up in events throughout the world. He's a larger than life presonality from a larger than life family and lives it up as such. To most appearances he's a shallow attention grabbing playboy with too many toys, and thats not entirely inaccurate but he does have a strong sense of justice and feels a responsbility for the people of freedom. Rex's death puled him out of a pretty self destructive spiral but that hasn't kept him form havign fun while doing good in the here and now. Powers & Tactics: Every person who asks how Ace got his talents gets a different answer each more unbelievable than the last some of them are probably even true. He has been blessed by mystics of many traditions for long life and thats likely the actual core reason for his immortality, He most often will say however that he's to pretty to die. In his travels he has also picked up more than a few tricks. He has learned many martial arts forms from various groups through the years that has left him a capeable hand to hand fighter though no specific style really take preeminance and his fathers wicked left hook is still his most signature move. He has also trained with various yogi's and mystics throughout the world to hone his mind and has picked up on the tricks that he most liked granting him a suite of mind tricks harnessing the power of his mind. He has also made some upgrades to his home to better fit with his new "super" lifestyle, using daka crystals he has pulled it off the grid and aplified his own mind clouding abilities to hide the entire structure from prying eyes, hte instalation of a comunacations and computing suite made it in his mind the perfect luxurious base of operations. Also it helps with dodging the ever present paparrazi. Complications: Disarmed!: Aces gadget power is hard to lose as he has to be stripped of all of his devices to completely lose access. However many of the individual items are hand held and can be disarmed as normal. 22. History The Jungle Patrol formally traces back to 1927 when the Patrol that would grow to international fame first came together and formally used the Jungle Patrol Moniker as immortalized in Season 1 Episode 1 of 'The Adventures of the Jungle Patrol!' serial. The basis for hte organization of course was not so watershed an event. Central to the Jungle Patrol was of course Johnny Danger, explorer, adventurer, and renaissance man extraordinaire. Johnny was born on the cusp of the twentieth century in 1899 on a ranch in montana. The family ranch was lost in conflict with a local cattle baron and Johnny was taken in by a local band of the Crow his family had good relations with before he reached his teens. Hard life in the frontier state and then among the tribe taught the young man much about wilderness survival and spurred in him a strong independent streak. As he grew older he wandered the states doing odd jobs before finally joining the army when old enough and serving in the Great War when America entered the conflict. It was while serving that he first made the acquaintance of Ace Adams a fellow westerner and a hotshot pilot, the two remained close after the close of hte war as Ace entered a career as a barnstorming pilot and Johnny began to travel the world. In his travels he made many friends and contacts in every port and frontier fort he found himself in, Aiding Huang "Hong Kong Harry" Chun in recovery of a lost family heirloom, sailing the caribbean with the fast talking Billy Browning in search of sunken treasures, and working on the small farm in surrey of Professor Arlan Jones. In 1927 he and Ace found themselves stranded in sub-saharan africa after a particularly rocky 'landing' in a thunder storm while seeking the fabled mines of Dakana. It was here that they met Dendaji, a Dakanan Native exiled after his negligence allowed a band of Thule society sorcerers to steal several precious Daka Crystals. In return for his aid getting them out of the jungles surrounding Dakana Johnny and Ace took up his cause to chase down the sorcerous cult in a chase that spanned five continents and saw them Joined by Hong Kong Harry, Baby Face Browning, and Arlan Jones as well as his daughter Jezebel. Through wit, grit, and no small measure of luck the soon to be jungle patrol managed to corner the Thule Sorcerers on a mediterranean Island and steal back the Crystals thwarting the Thule ritual. Returning to Dakana they declared themselves the Jungle Patrol and earned 'Doctor Daka' an end to his exile and themselves a favored position as rare outsiders welcome in Dakanas borders. The Jungle Patrol continued to operate primarily in Africa seeking lost treasures and protecting allied tribesmen from the machinations of post colonial interests. The aging Arlan Jones left the patrol in 1929 though his daughter stayed continuing to maintain and improve on the marvelous feats of engineering the Professor had built for the Patrol. In 1930 shortly after the discovery of the diamond mine that would make him one of the wealthiest men in the world Johnny began to bring his young son Ace on his globetrotting adventures and had earned himself and the Jungle patrol a reputation as a team that could get things done wherever in the world they needed doing. From ancient tombs to forbidden vales, Hidden monasteries to otherworldly wildlands the jungle patrol explored seeking and preserving artifacts, treasure, and lost peoples and civilizations. Their adventures came to be chronicled in the 'Adventures of The Jungle Patrol!' serials later renamed 'Johnny Danger and the Jungle Patrol' where the irascible Ace Danger first grew to fame. When the tides of war started to sweep across the world the Jungle Patrol came often to the aid of the Allies in campaigns in Africa and Southeast Asia in particular with daring rescues and sabotage behind enemy lines. With a war on the Patrol spent more and more time fighting Thule, or Green Dragon agents than their traditional exploratory adventures. Ace Adams fell to an assassin's blade meant for Jezebel Jones near the close of the war and Johnny Danger grew more absorbed with the day to day running of Danger International and it's many works in the aftermath of the second world war. Other than occasional press conferences when promoting a new product or similar endeavors the Jungle Patrol was in effect no more. The remaining members continued to work together though in pursuit of their own interests now. Membership Johnny Danger: The leader of the Jungle Patrol was a two fisted adventurer and world traveler before he even began the famed group. A master of survival, linguist, bare knuckle brawler, crack shot, and all around expert in adventure Johnny Danger was the glue at the core of the Jungle Patrol. He was a decisive and caring leader and knew his friends better than they knew themselves. This knowledge payed dividends not only in loyalty but also in utility as his keen tactical mind could weave their skills into exactly the plan needed to overcome nearly any objective. After the death of Ace Adams and the close of the war he disbanded the Patrol officially and shifted his Focus to Danger International, his sprawling corporation and world wide commercial empire tuned to his priorities of protecting indigenous peoples from exploitation, the environment from destruction, and the world from, he hoped, war. His family peddled his fame and influence into a lasting dynasty and legacy of good works around the world. Ace Adams: Johnny Dangers best friend and closest confidant the expert pilot and self proclaimed fastest draw in the skies (thanks to a particularly famed shootout with a nazi operative aboard a zeppelin) was Johnnys constant companion even before the patrol was formed. He was the de facto second in command as well as a master of vehicular feats of daring. From automobile to airplane, submarine to jet pack if it had a wheel, stick, or rudder he'd get it where it needed to be. He was most famous for his rocketry pack, an invention of the jones, as well as his twin .45 revolvers, Truth and Justice. According to the serials he was one leg of the love triangle between himself, Jezebel, and Billy, though he had promised Arlan to look after her and refused anything untoward, at least as far as the serials, comics and later cartoon reprisals indicated. Ace died at the end of the second world war, his death one catalyst for the dissolution of the Patrol. He was unwed and to public knowledge had no children though he served as a mentor and role model for many adventurous youngsters. Huang 'Hong Kong Harry' Chun: Huang, or Harry as he is still occasionally called, is an archaeologist and expert in antiquities as well as master martial artist. He served both as muscle for the team and as an expert in many mysterious artifacts, legends, and lost languages on the Patrols adventures. He holds a doctorate in archeology specializing in the far east and continues to lecture at prestigious universities the world over between visits to digs. His skilled fists and feet got them out of almost as many scrapes as his keen mind puzzling out the secrets of ancient tombs or hidden temples. Thanks to a combination of clean living and likely some mystical intervention the elderly Proffessor Chun continues to travel and teach to this day. He has many students of antiquities as well as a small selection he has agreed to teach his martial arts. Additionally he has a large family spread between Hong Kong where he resides and the U.S. though no children of his own, claiming he and his wife just never had the time. Dendaji “Doctor Daka”: Dendaji is a Dakanan by birth and trained in the mystic ways of that secretive country as well as the intricacies of Daka technology. His expertise and innovation in technical and biomedical advances for the Patrol led to the development of their famed sleeper rounds as well as many other devices and artifacts that have saved the day on more than one occasion. While a more cerebral member of the group his high tech devices and ancient Dakanan fighting techniques proved to be an great asset tot he team it the field as well as the lab. After the Patrol dissolved he returned to Dakana to continue his research and development of daka based medical devices and non-lethal defensive technologies. He remains a friend of the Danger Family but rarely leaves his homeland now. the secretive nation has revealed little about his personal life after the Jungle Patrol. Billy “Baby Face” Browning: A con man and artiste of the slightly shady deal Baby face was the friendly face and fast mouth of the Patrol. Though Ace would often say the mans mouth got hem into more trouble than out of Billy was a valuable member of hte team. He was a master of disguise as well as skilled orator and diplomat. When the Patrol ran afoul of official problems wherever they operated it usually fell to Billy to smooth the way. A consummate ladies man he was however denied that which he most ardently sought, Jezebel who had eyes only for Ace Adams. He managed to peddle his fame and contacts from the Jungle Patrol into a position with the US diplomatic corps and has served as a sometimes Ambassador to Dakana though his less than diplomatic approach to US politics has had that position stripped and reinstated enough times to make one dizzy. None the less even at his advanced age (thanks to living primarily in Dakana with full access to their medical advances) he is invaluable to any diplomatic efforts with the hidden nation. Rumors swirl that he may have wed a Dakanan lady of means as well though as with all news of the hidden nation it is never certain how much truth there is to such. Arlan and Jezebel "Jalopy" Jones: the Jones are the creators and innovators behind most of the large scale devices used byt he Jungle patrol from vehicles like the Jungle Jeep, to Ace Adams rocket pack, to more strange devices still. Arlan was primarily an absent minded professor and not long for work on the field however his daughter Jezebel fell in love with the excitement, and Ace Adams, of life with the Jungle Patrol. "Jalopy" often stated she could build a zeppelin from coconuts and banana leaves given time, and according to at least one famed episode of the 'Ace Danger Boy Adventurer Hour!' did so on at least one occasion. Though she had deep feelings for Ace Adams he never seemed to return them and she had eyes for no others. After the Patrols disolution she returned to her family farm to continue her fathers work on various devices supporting herself off occasional patents though most of her devices never saw the light of day. She passed still unwed the last of her family and left the farm and her inventions to be overseen by Danger International. By her wishes they have not been made public and are kept secure at the Farm where employees of Danger International act as caretakers of both property and prototypes. Chim-Chim: The ubiquitous ape companion of Jezebel since she saved him from poachers in his infancy. Chim-Chim was trained to fetch tools and acted as a sort of mascot for the team until an accident breaching the power core on one of Doctor daks wondrous devices somehow granted him human like intelligence. He continued to serve Jezebel after she retired to her family farm and predeceased her after a long and productive life. No formal attempt to recreate the circumstances of Chim Chims sentience were made though other accidents or even secret experiments might have managed the same or similar results. Ace Danger: Johnny Dangers first born was raised in the family business and was an ever popular child star of the serials as well as a darling of the media. He traveled into his teen years with his father and always managed to find himself in more unusual circumstance than even his famed elders. Ace has gone on to have a successful career as a spy, sometimes soldier, and more recently international hero. Along his many adventures he was blessed, cursed, or granted eternal life and dependant on who you ask is intent on making hte most of it or frittering it away on frivolities. Rex Danger: Before Ace even left the Jungle Patrol second born Rex had started to accompany the patrol on more and more adventures. The spitting image of Johnny Danger Rex was the all american red blooded adventurer hero rex served as a sort of replacement for Ace in the last years of the Jungle Patrol but between the danger and secrecy of the Patrols wartime operations never really gained the fame of his elder brother while traveling with the Patrol. Rex like many of the heroic minded residents of Freedom perished in the Terminus invasion of 1993, he is survived by three children including Rachel Danger, the youngest, and the current CEO of Danger Industries. Rahim Gilani: The ward of Johnny danger and close friend of Ace Danger in their childhood left the Dangers to return to Iran as an adult. though he had many adventures with the Jungle Patrol he managed to marry well in the liberal climate of the Shah's Iran. He passed away not long after the revolution. Legacies Most of the Jungle Patrol had descendants or at least those they might have trained or equipped as described in the individual member descriptions. As well there is alway the opportunity for someone, most likely connected to Danger International, to try and make a new Jungle patrol for the new world fighting injustice and exploitation of land or people around the fringes of civilization.
  23. September 12, 2011 Not long after their meeting in Paris, Edge made his own way to the Chateau Relais, following the plans laid down by Midnight and the more experienced heroes on the team. I guess I can't really call it Young Freedom; that belongs to the Claremont kids and anyway some of them aren't really that young! He'd hidden in plain sight as a UNISON employee on break, renting a car at the Bern airport and chatting volubly with the clerk there about how great it was to be in Switzerland and how much nicer it was than his usual African posting. From there, a car ride up to the mountains had taken him to the Chateau, where the last few weeks before the first real snow of the year had left the roads empty and quiet as he drove up and up towards the Chateau at an impressive 10,000 feet. Once there, he was all the cheerful, loud American tourist, buying a jaunty Tyrolean hat and parading around in it while he butchered German for the amusement of the locals, eating a huge breakfast in the chateau's impressive dining hall adorned with hunting trophies from all over the region. There were quite a few people there already, Japanese businessmen and quiet Swiss and Germans alike, and he let them see him without a trace of apparent artifice. The more of that that was in place, the better; who could be suspicious of that loud tourist in the silly hat? He kept a close eye out for his team, however, knowing that they'd find ways to contact him once they were all in place. Of course, with some of them, they'd be obvious even to him...
  24. North Bay September 22, 2011 While interstellar monsters weren't the specialty of anyone on the Liberty League these days, the new superteam was on high alert as the Gorgon's approach brought a dawning chaos the world. They'd only been back from Switzerland a few days, but those had been busy days for many of them between the Gorgon's coming, Edge's visit home, and of course various changes in Wander's general lifestyle. The wealthiest neighborhoods in town had so far avoided the panic beginning to gnaw at the poorer areas of the city, or at least that panic had been confined to the interiors of beautiful mansions rather than on the wide streets. North Bay, the home neighborhood of Ace Danger and the Midnights, had locally been the scene of one particular set of bizarre local disasters: localized thunderstorms had rocked the area for nearly 48 hours, flooding the streets, blowing tiles off roofs, and worst of all setting several homes ablaze as lightning strikes rocketed down from the sky in the middle of the 'North Bay storms' as the news was calling them. No one had died, yet, but several people had been hospitalized from electrical shock and at least one home, the Munoz manor near the waterfront, had burned to the ground with total loss of property. It couldn't be a coincidence, and so the new team had gathered together beneath Midnight Manor to discuss evidence and options.
