  2. Magic Club Room, Claremont Academy Bayview, Freedom City, New Jersey Monday, November 5, 2018 5:45:13 PM Nicole Whitfield-Hall slammed Bellios' helm on the school table in front of her, causing it to wobble. She ignored the wobbling, instead turning to meet the eyes of everyone in the room that Claremont's Magic Club called home. It was, as club rooms go, nothing too magical. The walls were painted white and the floor was covered in wood paneling. Light fixtures did a good job of lighting the room in white fluorescent and the windows were open to let the fall air in. Couches and cushions littered one side of the room, fluffy in bright colors. A large whiteboard dominated the opposite side and it was covered from end to end in Nicole's scribbly handwriting -- notes to herself and metaphorica-logic based tandems used to navigate her type of magic. The two wooden tables were pushed to the wall, freeing up the middle for the current occupants, a bunch of monoblock chairs that matched their numbers, and one table in the middle of it all. Nicole's eyes were a little bit crazed, like those of a powered up cultist high on otherworldly drugs and gods. Too much caffeine and too little sleep frayed the edges of her features and she sniveled her nose, ruddy with the cold she had been harboring for the past few days. She was sitting in her wheelchair, in clothes that could have been a day old or three. A gray sweater and blue sweatpants completed the I-just-woke-up look, though for her it might as well have been a I-haven't-slept-for-two-days look. "Right, so, I've gathered yo--" She stoppped, bringing a hand up to cover her mouth just as she sneezed. Taking her hand away with a sniffle, she reached for a handful of tissues to wipe at her nose. There was a few seconds of awkward silence as she did so and pocketed the used tissues before she looked up again to continue her explanation. "Right, so I need your guys' help. And I really need your help so I'm glad that you came here today no matter what we think of each other." And at this she looked pointedly at Huang, before muttering under her breath. "Jerkass." Then she continued, tapping at the helm on the table. The helm gleamed a bright red and their faces were reflected on its purple-tinted visor. "See, Bellios over here has been acting up ever since a thing I did last week, if you know what I mean. Now, I've fixed most of the problems but this last one is tearing my hair out. It's honestly pissing me off and it's been doing so for two nights now. And there's no way I'm going to a faculty member after Summers' drumming after the assembly." She paused and shivered, having experienced how scary Summers could really be in a locked room. Alone. "So," she said, picking up again. "I think you've got the skills. Is why you're here. And the magic obviously, this would be so much more complicated if you aren't. Some of us are touched by magic through the sympathetic bonds you've created with your... things." She threw a thumb at Elizabeth and Veronica. "And some are dripping magic like sweat after P.E." And here she tilted her head towards Abigail. "You're what I got and if you're thinking of walking back out the door right now we can deal. You scratch my back and I scratch yours kind of deal. What do you say?" She met their eyes again, clearly expecting them to either agree or "deal" in her words.
  3. Main Quad, Claremont Academy Bayview, Freedom City, New Jeresy Monday, Febraury 18, 2019; 8:35 AM The morning sun had done little to warm the cold morning air thus far as it began to shine over the open air courtyard located at the front entrance of Claremont Academy. Veronica Danger stood toward the front entrance, not far from the grass circle in the center where stood a statute of Dr. Charles Claremont. The teenage Danger was dressed in dark green cargo pants, a pair of well-worn hiking boots and a long sleeved brown shirt with a winter jacket over it. The rest of the quad was deserted as the school was closed today. Veronica was out waiting to meet a new student that was arriving this morning so she could provide him a tour and help get him settled in.
  4. Early Spring 2019 Claremont Cafeteria A few weeks after the incident where the duplicates of superheroes showed up at Freedom City, Veronica was just starting lunch when she was interrupted by Judy Smith. Judy and her sister generally gave the Dangers a wide berth, but today Judy looked burdened with purpose and Ashley looked vaguely mortified through the usual air of disdain she tried to project. "Veronica? Can Ah talk to you for a minute?" asked Judy, who of course had no food. Judy usually didn't come into the cafeteria either, come to think of it.
  5. Hunter Museum of Natural History North End, Freedom City, New Jersey Thursday, October 18, 2018; 7:25 PM The Hunter Museum of Natural History had recently achieved something of a major coup among American antiquities museums, managing to obtain a showing of an impressive collection of Egyptian artifacts only unearthed a few years earlier on loan from the Cairo Museum. The Hunter Museum was aided in this endeavor in no small part by its connections with Danger International, which had been one of the main organizations funding the dig. In fact, members of the Danger family had been instrumental in planning the location of the dig and had been present for the major discovery. As such, the museum had worked with Danger International to have Veronica Danger speak at the opening event for the exhibition to discuss her and her parents’ work. Two of Veronica's fellow Claremonters, Elizabeth Grey and Kam Kingdom, had expressed some interest in the exhibit when they had heard her discussing it with Janus over lunch a week ago. So Veronica had made sure Prudence arranged tickets to the opening night event for the two. Now the two teenagers were seated in the crowd of well-dressed men and women that were gathered for the presentation that was the start of the opening night of the exhibit. Seats had been arranged in one of the larger rooms off the main lobby, a small podium set up toward one end of the room where the chairs were facing, and a large projection screen having been set up to one side of the podium. The room was filled with the sounds of various conversations as those gathered awaited the start of the opening presentation.

It was shortly after classes had finished the day several of the students had been presented with several ethical questions during philosophy class. Veronica Danger was walking at something of a brisk pace through the Quad from the main classroom building, trying to catch up with one of her fellow students, Abigail Storm. The weather was still warm enough that the teenage Danger was dressed in her typical cargo shorts, this time a brown pair, with a red T-shirt over which she wore a short sleeved tan button up shirt that she wore unbuttoned. "Hey Abby!" She called out as she started to draw near the other girl, which allowed her to more easily catch up with the other teen as she stopped to see who had called her name. "Hey, just wanted to see if you were okay." Veronica said as she drew up alongside Abby. "You seemed to get a bit frazzled toward the end of those questions in philosophy."
  7. GM December 10th, 2018, 4.54 AM Star Island Space Control Center, Atlantic Ocean, USA All around the heroes, the Space Control Center buzzed with activity. People rushing by in uniforms of every shade, shouts, the rattle and roar of machinery, the feel of the floor and air vibrating with the sheer noise passing through them. Above was a clear, chill Atlantic sky, a few stars twinkling despite the blazing lights of the offshore aerospace facility. Over the base's cacophony, a voice cut through. "...And that's where we're at. Thanks to the cooperation of these two, we have a lock on Blackstar's most likely location by tracking the signature of his Shadow Bands. Faster-than-light approach in a Pegasus should let you get close to the base without raising the alarm, and if our readings and the information from his followers is accurate, his castle should be minimally-staffed." To his credit, USAF Col. Randall Austin didn't look enviously at the sleek navy blue spaceplane taxiing into the launch sling. The flickering decade and change had thickened the man a shade around the waistline, and the grey in his hair fair outnumbered the thickets of coarse black, but the last hour and a half of explaining a lot of information clearly and concisely proved his mind was as sharp as ever. "If you can apprehend Blackstar, that would be great. But if you learn how he and his followers are transporting to Earth without the Lighthouse detecting them, that's far more important. Now, are there any questions before takeoff?" Behind his glasses, Randall beamed hopefully.
  8. Joint United Nations and Danger International Refugee Relief Camp Just south of the Burundi/Tanzania border along the shore of Lake Tanganyika Tanzania, Africa December 25, 2018; 6:40 PM local time Veronica Danger was seated in camp chair outside the pair of refurbished Ecopod cargo containers that served as her family's quarters at the relief camp. The sound of Post Malone and Swae Lee's Sunflower came through her headphones from her iPhone as she looked up from the sketch she had been working on in the leather bound journal in her lap. The subject of teenage Danger's sketch was slowly fading in front of her, as the sun set over the Congo across Lake Tanganyika from where Veronica sat. In her young life, Veronica had seen hundreds of amazing sunsets from various exotic locals, and now she had the memory of yet another to add. This was hardly Veronica's first trip to Tanzania, with her having first visited to join in a climb of Mount Kilimanjaro, returning a year or so later to visit Lake Victoria and then a third time to travel through the Serengeti. But this was her first time along the shore of Lake Tanganyika, Tanzania's western border and the world's longest freshwater lake. This trip however was not as nearly as exciting as the three prior, however it was one of far greater importance. Tens of thousands of refugees displaced by unrest in Burundi were living in camps just inside the borders of Tanzania and other countries. The morning that her winter break had begun at Claremont, Veronica had aboard a DI relief plane from Freedom City, bringing medical supplies and personnel as well as food to the region as part of the ongoing UN and DI efforts to address the crisis. Since Veronica had arrived at the refugee relief camp she had been almost constantly on the go, working at several medical stations providing vaccinations and basic first aid for any injuries as well as helping distribute food to the various refugee camps. Though today had been Christmas, it had been no less busy for the teenager, as she again spent a morning at a medical station before again helping to distribute food throughout the afternoon. While the work had been rather routine, the mood at the various refugee camps had been very different. Christmas was an important holiday in Burundi, one that was celebrated all day long. In each of the camps, large spaces had been cleared for the people to gather to dance and sing. Veronica had taken a number of pictures of these celebrations, from which she would chose a couple to add to her journal in addition to her various sketches. The teenage Danger was glad she and Janus had found a few other students that were as dedicated to fixed and intense exercise regimes as they were, otherwise she might been feeling these long days more than she did. The rather sedentary life at Claremont had been something of an adjustment for Veronica, luckily there were excellent facilities for exercising, challenging classes and interesting classmates to help prevent the school from being completely dull. Just as she was pulling herself out of her thoughts of school, her father came up to take a chair next to hers. "Hey Ronnie, you okay?" Veronica gave her father a smile as she gave a small nod. "Yes dad, I am fine. Was just lost in thought a bit." She then held up her journal for him to see her sketch of the sunset. "Was just finishing up a sketch." Rex Danger II smiled as he looked at the sketch and then back at his daughter. "You keep this up, you will need an entire library to store your journals by the time you are my age." Veronica chuckled slightly as she set her journal back in her lap. "That would be a nice problem to have." The teen paused a moment, and then added, "though, I sometimes wonder if there will come a time where I no longer have anything to add to a journal." This time it was the elder Danger's turn to chuckle. "Not likely." He replied. "Besides Ronnie, you’re a Danger. Even if you somehow ran out of new destinations here, you would find a way to new discoveries and adventures. I mean, right now, how many people do you know from how many different dimensions?" Veronica could not help but laugh again as her father made his point. "Quite a few." She admitted. Her father smiled. "Anyway, you still have a long time before you need to worry about dimension hopping. Right now it is time for staff coordination meeting combined with Christmas dinner down at the main tent." Veronica nodded as she closed her journal, slipping it into a well-worn backpack that she slung over a shoulder as she got to her feet and started off with her father.

  10. Sub-basement of Claremont Academy Bayview, Freedom City, New Jersey Tuesday, October 2, 2018; 4:30 PM With the announcement of the intermural teams, the members of the newly formed Green Team had managed to get some time scheduled in the Doom Room to get some training and learning to work together. Veronica Danger was standing in the hallway outside the entrance to the Doom Room, waiting for her fellow teammates. The attractive teenager was not dressed all that different than normal, but she seemed even more prepared for a trek into the jungle or the mountains than normal. She was wearing a pair of dark green cargo pants, her normal well-worn hiking boots and a long sleeved tan shirt which was mostly buttoned up over a brown T-shirt. A pair of half-finger black leather gloves covered each hand and her long brown hair was pulled back into a ponytail. She still wore a pair of necklaces with the dozens of small silver charms around her neck, but the chains on which they hung from were heavier than normal. More out of the ordinary was what was on Veronica's belt, as a survival was on one hip, while a pair of climbing axes hung at the other. She wore a small backpack as well. As she waited for the others to arrive, the teenage Danger began leaning from side to side as she worked to limber up for whatever they would face in the Doom Room.
  11. GM September 1st, 2018, 4.28PM A.S.T.R.O. Labs The day was winding down, the light was starting to wane, and the people working at one of the premier technological application centers on Earth were starting to think fondly of home. By now the horrors of the Terminus Invasion had already begun to fade from all but the hardest-hit. But the fact remained: while there was a sense that the Terminus might not make such a move again, there were other dangers in the omniverse. So far the day had gone famously. The dimensional conduit prototype, code-named DR(pronounced, naturally, 'door') was in full working order, the odd-looking man from AEGIS hadn't gotten in the way while 'checking for mental leaks', and the representative for the prestigious Danger Foundation had been nothing but helpful with the finer details of avoiding dangerous interaction with the forces she unaccountably referred to as 'magic'. The support staff had been on top of their game today, especially thanks to a newcomer with an ease around the strange materials they worked with that confounded even veterans of the Labs. Regardless, there was only a little clearing up to do and everyone would be off the clock. So it was with a certain regret that one of the walls exploded inward from a shower of dark energy, followed by two odd-looking men in Atom Family Adventure-like uniforms of black, silver and purple with armbands that radiated power. "Hello!" the finned one said merrily "Please leave this to us, Terresi!" "I'm Electrum Eagle. No prey escapes me." The winged one snarled, knocking the room off its feet with a wave of his gauntleted hand, emitting a punishing shockwave that made the nerves scream. "And I'm Platinum Porpoise! Take a seat!" A snap of his webbed fingers and a boyish smile heralded a great seething wave of bluish-purple energy that started flashing across the room, pinning everyone in its path with coils of otherworldly darkness! However, even as they headed for the great arch of the DR, they were unaware that someone had followed them ever since they first materialized in Freedom City...
  12. OOC for this thread. @RocketLord Forever Boy debuts, alongside @Supercape's Echohead, @Exaccus's Facsimile and @Thevshi's Veronica Danger. For the stats of your opponents from Blackstar's Blackguard, consider them to be PL12 versions of this sheet by Troll, with the amendment the powers come from a Hard-To-Lose Device: Electrum Eagle can fly under his own power, and Platinum Porpoise is Immune to Suffocation by all descriptors.
  13. Claremont Academy. Third Floor, Rita Kord Dorm. September 4, 2018 10:05 am Lulu didn't have too much stuff to bring in; most of her clothes were still back at the Harrows' place across in North Bay, still in the boxes and bags from the mall. She was used to travelling light, carrying her most important belongings in ziplock bags tucked into a backpack and a gym bag. Growing up in rural Alabama, there were always floods or hurricanes or tropical storms that forced you to relocate for days at a time, pulling up stakes in a hurry as you grabbed some bottled water for the road. Most of the houses in Columbia were either trailers or simple uninsulated structures that were cheap to repair or rebuild. There was no real sense of permanence; God could wipe out everything you owned with a simple wave of His hand. But Freedom was very different; everything here was built to last, or even survive assault by supervillains. The walls and floors of Claremont were thick and well-worn, scuffed and polished by the passing of hundreds of youthful hands and feet. Everything was spotless and freshly-cleaned, yet you could still feel the history of the place. Lulu found room 309 with little difficulty, and stood in the doorway for several seconds as she took in the space that would be her academic home for the next three years. Two beds, two dressers and two desks in a pleasant, airy room that somehow managed not to smell like a hotel. She picked the left-hand bed at random, dropping her two bags next to it as she laid down on her back, staring up at the ceiling, idly flexing her sneakered feet this way and that. "Well...here we are."
  14. September 4, 2018 Claremont Academy (Third Floor, Rita Kord Dorm) Janus followed along, glancing at the numbers of the rooms as they passed each one in turn. The Danger scion had dressed 'down' recognizing that there would be a lot of hauling and unpacking from dark windowed car to the dormitory which meant that they only somewhat looked like some lost extra from an over-embellished k-pop video. Hair that faded from white to rose at the tips was pulled back in a tight braid that brushed the tightly laced leather pants. (Who wore leather pants in the late summer? A Danger, that's who.) The flouncy poets shirt had been cuffed back above leanly muscled forearms. Bright violet eyes cut to the sign. "Three-twelve. This is us, 'Ronnie." Like the androgynous features, Janus' smooth tenor didn't betray if the tall, slim individual was male or female, though their handsome features lent itself to an easily assumed pretty male. Shortening Veroncia's name with familial familiarity, Janus paused before apologizing as they well knew high school had an impact. If nothing else, Janus had seen all the high school movies while taking up space in Danger Manor over the summer. "Sorry, Veronica." Janus amended as they bumped the door open with one lean hip, "Habit."
  15. Veronica Danger Power Level: 10/12 (238/250PP) Trade-Offs: None Unspent Power Points: 12 In Brief: Globetrotting daughter of a family of explorers who picked up some magic along the way. Catchphrase: “Did I ever tell you about the time that…” Alternate Identity: Veronica Danger (Public) Birthplace: Nice, France Residence: Claremont during the school year. Danger Manor when not in school or off with her parents. Base of Operations: Claremont Occupation: Student Affiliation: Claremont; Danger International Family: Veronica is the oldest child of Rex Danger II and Jaqueline Giroux Danger. The Danger family tree grows more convoluted every year, especially with the predilection towards adventure that seems to run in the family. While Veronica’s parents are normally off in some far part of the world, they regularly visited Freedom City at least a few times every year (occasionally only once if they were in some very remote location), so Veronica had plenty of interaction with her many cousins and is close with those around her age. She is also reasonably close to her Aunt Rachel (her father’s sister). [Janus Danger] (cousin) Description: Age: 18 (August 2002) Apparent Age: 18 Gender: Female Ethnicity: Caucasian Height: 5’ 4” Weight: 115 lbs Eyes: Brown Hair: Brown Veronica has a slim build, as might be expected of someone who has spent her life being physically active. Her brown hair comes down to about the middle of her back and is usually in a ponytail to keep it tougher and out of the way. She generally dresses in cargo shorts or pants and solid color T-shirt over which she wears a button up shirt (khaki or olive drab), either long or short sleeve depending on the temperature. Her normal footwear of choice is well broken in hiking boots and thick socks. Veronica is rarely without her bronze colored amulet, which she wears on chain necklace. The amulet is covered in unusual writing and there are four empty oval sockets spaced around its surface, which could hold small gemstones. History: Veronica’s father is the second son of Rex Danger (Ace’s younger brother). Rex II took after his grand-father, travelling the world and exploring remote locals. While his aunt, and later sister, were busy handling the day to day operations of the family business, Rex was out there representing its interests in the field. It was during these travels that he met French archeologist Jaqueline Giroux on a Danger International sponsored excavation. It was not long before the two were married and began traveling the world together. After Jaqueline became pregnant with their first child, the pair settled briefly in Nice, France. It was there that Veronica was born, and after she was about a year old, her parents once again set off on their world spanning travels, taking Veronica with them. Over the years Veronica has searched for endangered gorillas in the jungles of central Africa, rode camels across the Sahara, explored lost temples in India, dove to submerged cities in the Aegean Sea, walked among the monuments of the pharaohs in Egypt, and climbed to remote villages in the Himalayas, among other adventures. From an early age, she began a habit of collecting small trinkets (like jewelry charms) from the various places she has visited. As one might expect, along the way she has learned a number of different skills and languages, in addition to being provide a more formal education by her parents. Recently, Veronica was at the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul, when she came across a small jewelry vendor on one of the back streets of the bazaar. Veronica’s attention was grabbed by a small circular amulet of what appeared to be bronze. It was a bit dirty and battered, but was covered with markings in a language she did not recognize. There were also four empty sockets that once appeared to have held gemstones. Despite the amulet’s poor appearing condition, Veronica bought it and took it home to add to her collection of trinkets. It was not long after this that Veronica began to realize she was able to sense magical energy in both the amulet and the other charms she had collected over her life. She was able to learn that the amulet she had purchased provided her with a variety of protective magic. She also determined that the small charms she had collected each contained a small spark of magic, which she has been able to figure out how to link together to create a number of magical effects. When Veronica went back to the Grand Bazaar to try to learn more about the amulet from the street vendor, she was unable to locate the man, finding the location she knew his stall had been at, but there was no sign of the stall’s presence. After the appearance of these new abilities, her parents decided it might be best to send Veronica to Freedom City to attend Claremont Academy. They also felt it might be good for the girl to spend a bit of time among peers her own age. The fact her cousin Janus was going to be starting at Claremont as well made the decision even easier. Personality & Motivation: Veronica is pretty much what one would expect of a Danger: adventurous, inquisitive and daring. She loves exploring new places and seeing new things, and if she could be one of the first to see it, so much the better! But she also has embraced the spirit of her family’s humanitarian efforts, wanting to help those in distress and improve the lives of all. Now that she has discovered her magical abilities and her unusual amulet, she wants to learn more about them. Powers & Tactics Veronica has learned a lot about her powers over the past couple of years, especially during a trip to another dimension at the start of the Summer before her Senior year where she was cut off from the trinkets she had believed were magical. She has now learned that the magic was always within herself and the trinkets were just a focus, which she no longer needs. Her abilities have become somewhat more fixed, but she still has some ability to use her magic in more creative ways. Her magical sight provides her considerable details about anything magical she studies, and it is difficult for anything magical to be hidden from her sight. Over the past couple of years she has also located two of the gems that were part of the amulet that came into her possession in Istanbul, adding new abilities to the protective magic the amulet already possessed. Complications: What’s over that hill? Like many members of her family, Veronica constantly feels the urge to explore any unknown place and solve new mysteries. Unfortunately this often results in her getting into things she probably should not and being too nosey, particularly in a place like Claremont, where many students have things they would rather keep secret, Fame: Although there are a lot of perks with taking on some of the face of Danger Media, sometimes being a public figure can cause real problems not only for Veronica, but those whom she calls friends. Responsibilities: As a member of the Danger family, Veronica has not only inherited some of the considerable enemies that the family has made over the years, but she also, in addition to school, has whatever responsibilities to her family or their business that might come up. Ancient Artifact: Veronica’s amulet is in fact an ancient magical artifact, reduced in power due the removal of the gemstones that once were part of it. There may be those that are searching for the amulet for their own purposes. Just fell into my lap: The amulet ended up in Veronica’s possession under some mysterious circumstances. There may be more to this than just happenstance.
