  1. I have the idea for a plot involving a rogue AI copy of a villain and an attempt by said villain to give the AI a new home. I'm thinking of two characters one of whom needs to have a computer in there head, though being Russian is optional .
  2. Who: Space-worthy heroes Where: Space Synopsis: Solar Sentinel gets a call from the aliens he helped defend in the war, and finds that there are those who don't want to have peace and are trying to spark things back up... Proposal Do you like space? Do you have a hero who could survive in space? Is your hero between around PL8 and PL12? Well, check this out; The Zarnashi are a race of people who live in a small corner of a faraway part of the galaxy, ruling over a relatively small empire of allied worlds. The Makh'rell are the neighbors of the Zarnashi who rule their own, slightly larger piece of the same area. The two of them had many small and moderately sized border disputes for centuries before all out war broke out just under a century ago. The two races fought a long, bloody conflict and ultimately, Henry William Mason lead the Zarnashi elites to the Makh'rell base world, punctured their defenses, and stopped the war. There are those who hate the peace and want to resume the war, even if it leads to genocide on one side or the other. Solar Sentinel, a respected man on both sides, has been called by the Zarnashi military to intervene and try to talk them down and prevent another bloody war. However, Henry is probably going to need help... PC relevant details Characters involved in this thread will probably need to either be able to survive in space or provide their own transportation through space. Not needing to breathe isn't necessary, but it can help. Characters may want ranks in Galactic Lore, and social skills might help.
  3. Hi folks, I have been wanting to use an old restautant/gambling joint called the High Steaks (yes, I know, pun) again, and am contemplating running a thread there. Any interest? Its going to be about high society, secret IDs, card cheats, super powered gamblers, thugs beating you up to drop out of the game, and a priceless Daka Crystal. A bit of Casino Royale, lots of socialising, cheating, and deception, and of course some strange Daka empowerement madness at the end! Will be a slow burner, probably, but depends on how it goes and what you do. 3 PCs tops (if there is any interest at all).
  4. I have some ideas for some threads, future and current, some for my characters, or involving my characters. And some that are wholly me GMing, they will be annotated: *Survival/Hunting thread, this is where some of the characters are on a flight that gets knocked out into the wilderness (preferring heavy forested or jungle). There will be some levels of injury, and possibly escorting NPCs from the plane crash. Of course this group is being hunted. Because why not? (Can involve Errant, Tona/Blue Jay is tentatively committed.) *Red Rat thread. She is made with old Russian/Soviet tech... so she should end up with an mad Russian Brain in a Jar, and his pet Atomic Powered Bear crashing at her doorstep and needing some help, with promises of some answers. Maybe. Either way it's gonna be messy. (This thread will contain 100% of your yearly needs of Atomic Powered Bear; also Red Rat will be involved). Characters involved: Red Rat (duuuuh), Comrade Frost, Graft. *Errant has been hunting/interfering with an advanced tech arms dealer. The dealer snaps back, and kidnaps the telepath, because why not weaponize him? He managed a Pyschic SOS to his friends after his disappearance. Now it is a race to save him, while the crimes of his parents, and possibly himself, become manifest. (Whilst ostensibly an Errant thread, he is more a Macguffin than anything else, and the other PCs have to save him). So... Thoughtspeed, Red Tiger, Glamazon, Stronghold, Bloeuwedd, and special guest Scarab Side thread of this for Terrifica and Bloodline, as they work on another aspect of the guy's operation, possibly with someone else? *Someone has picked up some a bunch of low-level goons/thugs, think street level/lightly powered. Except they are all female. Seems the recruitments have been most vicious. -Terrifica, Red Tiger, Jay, Wayward, Blodd, and one more? Tying into the first, I think some male characters getting pulled into the machinations outside of this would be good. Foreshadow, Nevermore, and one more. Maybe Blodd here instead?
  5. Vibrant Community Reclamation is a charitable organization dedicated to investing in low income neighbourhoods around Freedom City, building parks and youth centers while providing ample high profile photo ops for its board of directors and prominent contributors. Recently, however, Jack of all Blades has been hearing more than one drug peddler suggesting that VCR is a front for money laundering. The intel is of questionable reliability and given the organization's good reputation a formal investigation is unlikely. If VCR's shady business is going to be exposed the heroes will need to find evidence without tipping off anyone in a position to destroy the relevant records... I'm looking for two or three PCs to join up with Jack for this. Ideally PL10+ to make balancing things easier, you can expect a balance of skill checks and detective work with the potential for combat if things go wrong!
  6. (with a much better name obviously) Those poor boys and girls at Claremont have been lacking a team for quite some time now and with a influx of newish character at the school it seems to be as good a time as any. So is anyone interested in doing a team-up thread with the possibility of everyone involved joining a new team?
  7. What: There's a new gang of young supers in town, foundlings of the humanitarian WYRM(World Youth Rescue Movement, as per the tag above) organization dedicated to saving teenaged exceptionals from abusive, corrupt, criminal or neglectful circumstances. The ones they save are taken to Freedom City and given the best training and education the Movement's obscure yet fabulously wealthy backers can afford, and encouraged to become superheroes in their own right. It's a group founded partly in fear of what disadvantaged metahumans might become if not given a 'proper' upbringing, and partly on real charity. And in a city as big as Freedom, there's plenty of space for an accidental meeting while taking on some fire-based villainy! Who: Fourish Claremont students, including Cho Lee. I was hoping for a lineup of lighter, fun-loving sorts. PL isn't too much of an issue, 8-10 preferred. How: Combat opening, talky ending. Plenty of space for bizarre or novel tactics over simple blasting.
  8. What: A rash of bizarre, vivid and brutally hallucinatory nightmares sweep the city, all on a similar theme: the sheer hopelessness of any normal citizen making a difference in a world of superpowers! The wave of despair that follows leads to suicide attempts, people doing their darnedest to get powers of their own, a slowly growing tide of hopelessness and mayhem. Into this mess, Our Heroes must step and help those so afflicted(for the sake of plot, a handful of key individuals) overcome this malaise, and recover the power to strike out for the freedom of the heart from the tyranny of shackled dreams! And find out just what lies behind this creeping evil from the realm of sleep... Who: 3-5 PCs, any PL will do, and no theme required. How: Mostly Skill and Power-use(non-combat). Very talky.
  9. What: Master Mage Adrian Eldrich, in a ludicrous display, loses one of his manifold off-screen battles with monstrous, mystical madmen from beyond the veil! Not only is he conquered, but his body is turned into a facile puppet and his soul enslaved! Said conqueror(their identity unknown) promptly rolls into the World of Freedom, seizing the mystic reins unseen and and directing the dimension's very essence into one more suited to their will. They masquerade as the good-hearted magus to the rest of the dimension, but bit by bit, enough pieces fall out of alignment(weird things happening to physics when 'Eldrich' is supposedly fighting otherwordly beings; powers, people, places or memories altering at seeming random for the smallest fractions of seconds), enough clues are found by the wary or specially-attuned, for a smattering of Earth's denizens to realize something is very wrong. And that larger changes are soon to come. The thread starts with the rebels first banding together and pooling their discoveries, in conjunction with a rare public address by 'Eldrich'... Who: 3-5 PCs, PL open, no theme necessary. Alternate takes on said PCs welcomed. How: That's largely up to the players once they've gotten a game plan. Taking the fight to the Dark Lord, gathering support and power by public words and deeds, seeking aid from beyond Earth or the physical world, even pretending to ally themselves with the two-faced sorcerer, the options are all open. Depending on how play goes, it can skew anywhere from being a massive brawl against the forces of world-warping evil, a subtler, skill-focused game or anything in between or outside those boundaries.
  10. What: Mysterious happenings at a small town in southern Arizona, which overnight has somehow become a thriving mini-metropolis, lead magically-affiliated heroes to the scene. Who: 3-4 magic-affiliated heroes, any PL. How: All magical slamdowns and bizarre magic traps all the time, relatively little interaction or other Skill requirements. So yeah, already told Supercape and trollthumper the details, but if anyone would be more interested if they knew more of the 'backstory' of the thread, just ask and I'll send a PM. Think of it as Dr. Fate and Pals go to Night Vale.
  11. So, Bloodline has (or rather will) arrive in the current timeline of the Freedomverse soon, Terminator-style. His objective beign to prevent his timeline/universe from hapenning, either altering time or just saving this universe the same fate. Details aren't clear and time travel is a complicated and messy thing and HE doesn't know how it works, so it can be kept vague. What I need; Someone to GM the arrival thread. Maybe another hero or two to investigate Bloodline's arrival and actions, since while he's not a rampaging Terminator, he's not exactly entirely squeaky clean and might leave a (non-lethal) mess behind to ensure the apocalypse he come from doesn't happen here. Either some heroes who could detect the temporal anomaly or who are more street-level heroes or have dealt with vampires. I've left the details of the vampire plague unclear, at least in it's origin. Someone, somewhere is going to accidentally (or not) create a viral outbreak. I'm open to suggestions as to who is going to cause that and needs to be stopped.
  12. Okay, who left the keys in the prison lunchroom? So! Seeing as how my ex-con superhero Breaker's been approved and put into the list, I think it's a fine time to scramble together a story that I was hoping would be his first! Before Project Freedom lets him out, that is. AvengerAssembled has very kindly agreed to set up a prison break thread, with a pack of villains attempting to escape Blackstone prison, and a squad of brave and courageous heroes attempting to stop 'em cold! With maybe a little unexpected help from the inside. Thinking about 2-3 other people, at this point - anyone interested?
  13. With the approval of Miras, I am now working to get her into threads. There's one I've had bubbling in the back of my brain while putting the finishing touches on her. Basically she is doing her set at a club when a fight breaks out, with some minor superpowers mixed in. So I'm looking for two or three other PCs, all around PL 10, all of age to be in a club/bar at night.
  14. Since I've managed to float my way back here yet again, I find myself needing some Adventure! (I promise to try really hard not to vanish mysteriously again or I'll just leave you all alone forever. >.<) As my only character is Amelyth she'll be the one I'm looking to play as, I would prefer some kind of Claremont related thing though anything with younger heroes would be good too.
  15. The Plot: The usual celebrations are going on in Sydney on Australia Day, when suddenly, a monster appears out of Sydney Harbor! Can the PCs SAVE AUSTRALIA DAY? The Characters: Whoever has the means and motive to be in Sydney for the Australia Day celebrations! Maybe you're there to put in an appearance at the League party that night, or just there for the parties in general, it doesn't matter much. I will note that the planned monster for use is PL13, so keep that in mind. The Tone: Fairly light-hearted. This is a fun fight against a Monster Of The Week, poking good-natured fun at silly monster movies (and the cliches involed). We're not being too serious with this plot. So, who's interested in my first attempt at GMing something? :D
  16. I am looking for two or three PCs for a thread. It will be set on the outskirts of Freedom City, at an impromptu ice-carving competition. Which will be interrupted by dinosaurs. This is to be a somewhat low-PL adventure, so no one above PL 10. Who's interested?
  17. So, looking to help CorsecJedi get some more threadage, I'm thinking of trying out GMing another thread. In this case, I'd be GMing only. I don't really have a specific story idea yet, but I kind of want to tailor it to the characters involved. Maximum of 4 PCs counting Shadowblade. PL 9-12, though looking more for street-level or skill-based, anyways, moreso than raw powerhouses. But, I think I can be flexible! If we get more than 3 other people (besides Corsec) applying, I'll go over who's put their names in the hat and decide from there.
  18. Allright, I'm doing it. I'm jumping into GMing, since he who risk nothing get nothing. Or something. This should be a pretty simple, hopefully not too long thread. Mostly because I need to 'warm up' my GMing skills before tackling something more complex. There's been a slight upsurge in gang activities in the West End. What's unusual is that once small-time criminals have seemingly gotten their hands on superpowers. What's unusual is that witnesses and police say that the gang members exhibited different abilities whenever they commited a crime. Currently there is no explanation as to why or how they have such volatile powers.
  19. While I've GMed before, GMing M&M (beyond a one shot or premade adventure) is new for me and so is PbP gaming. Would anyone be kind enough (and interrested) in perhaps co-GMing something with me so I can get the hang of it all?
  20. So, now I've gotten back into Freedom PBP, I'm looking to get into something involving Vector, and I've got a couple of ideas, involving high-tech weapons being smuggled into Australia. Freedom City's been identified as a source, and since Vector was already planning to return to Freedom City, the Australian Federal Police have asked her if she could help investigate. Given that AA mentioned that Omegadrome Mafiosi have been a thing in some of his past plots (and gave the okay), they could easily be Terminus-tech weapons with said Omegadrone Mafiosi being involved, but that'd be up to the GM. The thing is, I'm still a bit unsure of my GM skills (in particular, I don't trust myself not to spill all the beans too quickly in anything resembling a mystery), so if possible, I'd prefer someone else to run this. I'd also be open to other superheroes being involved, of course. So, any takers?
  21. What: A fairly brief mostly skill & social thread, with possible combat. Where: The Lands Beyond(around the Spanish side of the Straits of Gibraltar). Who: Cobalt Templar and one or two others, with heavy preference for former members of Young Freedom. From Spain word reaches Corbin: the Indigo Ring has been sighted. Elusive and seemingly in ceaseless movement, its new bearer has cloaked themselves in darkness, but the light that shines from their hand into the minds of the few eyewitnesses, and the ethereal power it wields leaves no doubt. Along with a handful of those he trusts, he moves to meet this new player. Links: '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> IC. '?do=embed' frameborder='0' data-embedContent>> OOC.
  22. Ladies and gentlemen! Children of all ages! Come up! Come down! The carnival has come to town! It's hard to not love the carnival. It's got rides! Prizes! A circus! Something for everyone to love! Except for some members of the Freedom City Police, apparently. A couple of members at FCPD believe that Circus Maximus, the traveling carnival setting up shop just off of the highway between Bayview and Southside, is guilty of some illegal activity, but are unable to dig up any actual proof. These agents are out to round up a group of heroes to act as their eyes and ears at the carnival. Are these officers onto something with their hunch? What could a simple carnival be up to? Will the alter ego of any of our heroes be caught off-guard? Find out in the next adventure of... Freedom City Play-by-Post! ---------------------------------------------------- As this thread is going to be on the lower end of the power level structure. I'm looking for a party up to 4 players, running PL 7-10 heroes. Sound off if you're interested!
  23. Players: me and TheAbsurdist. Characters: Asad and King of Suits The Scheme: I am reasonably sure nobody has picked up the DeCosta Construction company's possible ties to the Freedom City mafia, so I figured we might as well get on with that! The Gamemaster may use any plot they choose, just remember to run your request to use DeCosta and/or the Mob past the Refs.
  24. I'm looking to run a thread for lower PL characters, probably in the 7-8 range, facing off against the Fearsome Five, a villainous team who's shown up a few times. Set and Sekhmet will be a part of this, so it's also an opportunity to team-up with them. The Fearsome Five are all PL 10 and individually dangerous, with a broad range of abilities so a group of PL 7-8 heroes are going to be in significantly over their heads. That means figuring out a way to win other than a straight fight and knowing as a player that your character may well have their butt handed to them in the process of saving the day. Hey, the Fearsome Five may even get away with their plan! If you're interested in a challenging thread with some strong personalities, let me know. I'll be choosing less based on first-come and more on which characters would be most interesting to include so feel free to make your pitch along those lines! For reference:
  25. The landlocked African country of Dakana, home to wonders of science thanks to the mysterious and powerful Daka crystals, lately emerging from centuries of isolationism onto the world stage. They are few, yet still hold the keys to a fantastical future. The submerged continent of Atlantis, a living myth from a vanished age whose people once held sway over half the world with their fusion of magic and technology and the mighty Orichalcum metal, now all but ignored and forgotten by the surface. They are many, but still a shadow of what was. For eons these two have had nothing ill to do with one another, courteous cousins in the great household of nations. Now, though, tensions rise between them, and accusations fly thick and fast of deception and attempted evil! Who could gain from bringing these two into conflict? Who would seek to make these two rivals or even bitter foes? Who plots a war that could spell a cataclysm across the Earth if it came to pass? And who will step forward to stop...the Showdown of the Super-Nations?! (All credit goes to Russoboo, and to Johnathan Hickman for being the guy who's writing the New Avengers series with an Atlantis vs. Wakanda plot) Players: 3-5 Suggested PL: 10-13 Preferences: Characters with some kind of diplomatic standing, establishment with the Freedom League, UNISON or international status(aliens, etc). Focus: Even split between Skills/interaction, with combat a distant third. Tone: Serious, streak of bombast(because the stakes are high!). I seriously doubt I'd be able to pull something like this off, but in the event of nobody else wanting to give it a go I'll get it a-rolling.
