  1. The title is really is all you need in this instance. Right now I'm wanting to lean on social threads to help reintegrate Bastion into society, though I totally understand the desire for the other PC's to want to devolve it into a combat thread (which I will support if there's interest). There are three avenues I've been thinking of for threads to occur, but I'd like input for which people think would be the most interesting and/or which they would like to be a part of. Characters that were associated with Malice/Bastion are going to be given priority. 1 - The Press Conference - You simply don't let someone with Eric's rap sheet walk out of jail without letting everyone know that this is going down. I'm waffling between whether or not the details of the press conference were released ahead of time. On the one hand the real life implications seem to favor letting the press know ahead of time, while the comic-book implications would totally have the surprise reveal of Eric walking into the stage and shaking hands be the last splash page of a comic to continue in the next issue. 2 - Villains out shopping - Eric wanders into a PC when the both of them are in their civilian ID, Eric being oblivious, but the other PC not. A nice walk in for anyone who own their own business or the like. Semi-related to Eric getting his finances back in order; maybe the penthouse he moves into makes him your neighbor. 3 - The Patrol - Eric goes out on patrol as Bastion in his full power armor hoping to help solve the latest crime spree, but to the PC's or the police want his help? As I mentioned above, if anyone has any other thread ideas, I'm all for it.
  2. Okay, folks - Looking to recruit a small collection of newish players for a thread! The idea here is that your character has been hired for publicity/security for the test run of a brand-new cruise ship, the SS Mictlan. Your PC should be credible/famous enough that a company would reasonably want to do that. Who wouldn't want an all-expenses-paid Caribbean vacation?
  3. I am starting it up. It is primarily social,. But there may be... special kinds of actions. This is sort of a senior-ish trip. But basically Elias/Errant is running a a harder core camping trip., over a week, for credit and stuff. I know there have been rumblings before, this should be about 5 to 6 people
  4. So I'm looking to just generally get into more threads not just revive the old threads I have been reviving as of late. So come one come all. In the spirit of Gizmo's Freedom Finest (Seriously go check that out those with newish characters Giz will make you care for NPCs like never before) and Electra's And I Was Just Standing There (Also seriously check that one out. E's characters are awesome why wouldn't you want your characters to know them?) a here's my thread. A shameless piggy back of their excellent ideas. Essentially, anybody whose interested in grouping our characters for a thread (Social/Combat/or somewhere in between) drop me an idea here, through pm, or in Chat and we'll work something out together. I will accept pitches for up to 3 PCs per thread (including my own PCs), but no more than that. The joking goal may be to overwhelm me, but it's not to leave everyone hanging in doing so! Yes, I know I have some thread ideas in my old thread that I've yet to form into threads. But those are ideas I pitched. Now I want to hear what ideas others have had sitting in the back of their mind. Any of my characters are available. So here's a run down of my characters, if you want to have a team up thread with one of them. Argonaut (PL: 10 [7 if Argonaut is to stay unarmored all thread as armoring up formally requires permission]) : Late 40s. Freed Omegadrone turned Agent of AEGIS. Has been on Earth Prime for two decades, but has been an active part of the hero community for far less time. Not always great with normal social cues or leaving out grim details, Yves Zermeno is not the world's most social butterfly, but her survivor's guilt and PTSD drive her to place the lives of others above her own without fail. Dalir the Dashing (PL10): Emerald City Stage Magician. Connected to a hidden society in the mountains, the illegitimate son of ASAD Dalir has a penchant for the flashy but his powers are tied to his nine viridian rings. Dalir has no particulars about the sort of crime, but he will always follow a lead to locate his missing mother. Foreshadow II (PL12): Early 20s. Prescient heir to the Foreshadow name. Adopted by the original Foreshadow, Erick Sloane is a shameless flirt (happily taken though), millionaire turned billionaire through investments, with a recently earned MBA. Attached to the UK superhero team Vanguard(Whose access to portals allows him to travel back and forth between the UK and the rest of the world), Foreshadow favors street crime above all else. Glamazon (PL 14 [9 if the thread involves somehow depowering the demigoddess of her divine powers]: Atlantean Princess, Olympian Demigoddes, ambassador to the Surface, and Freedom League Aux PR disaster. Glamazon is essentially a Homeric heroine with more modern sensibilities. Glamazon acts before thinking and her first thought is usually to punch things very, very hard Hellhound (PL7) Bedlam city bouncer by night, Werewolf by also night. Hellhound is your typical down on his luck blue collar werewolf as you are want to find in Bedlam City. Waging a one-man war against his father's MC. The Bedlam hero favors street crime but is more than equipped for the magical woes of the city as well. Roulette (PL11): Zultasian Bounty Hunter and part of a crew of bounty hunters known as the Voidrunners. Roulette is just the worst taking pleasure by grating on anyone and everyone's nerves, but the man has a semblance of a conscious. Despite the fact that he shoots concussive laser beams from his eyes, he has an aversion to violence and will generally attempt to avoid it. Shock and Awe (PL9) He's human thunderstorm, she's a lightning rod. Together they fight crime. These two Southern teens find themselves attending the Prestigious Claremont academy as part of the intramural Orange squad. One's sour, one's sweet but both are full of all sorts of uncommon Southernisms.
  5. Face forward, true believers! In the spirit of Marvel Team-Up and The Brave and The Bold comes Freedom's Finest! Each month I'll be running a team-up adventure for a newer player character and one of my own characters at request! The idea is to give new players and established players with new characters a chance to dive into the world of Freedom City and beyond, letting them show their stuff and jumpstarting connections with existing heroes, just like those classic team-up comics! Naturally not every team-up idea will make it into a monthly installment of Freedom's Finest, with preference being given to players who have been active for less than a year and to pitches that spark my interest! What should a pitch look like? Something along these lines: "My super-serious dark avenger and the wise-cracking Jack of all Blades arrive to foil the same jewel heist and have to overcome their personality differences to work together and stop the thieves!" "My impetuous telepath is out patrolling after curfew and runs into Midnight. Realizing she can't read his mind, she mistakes the shadowy figure for a villain and leaps into action!" "My pyrokinetic character is a student at Joseph Clark High School. Maybe he could go to Wail for advice on whether to maintain a secret identity or go public, now that he's got powers?" In other words, post in this thread telling me a little about your character, which of my PCs you think they should team-up with and why! The idea can be combat-based or purely social, so long as it's interesting! Details can be worked out in private messages and ideas that aren't picked for the following month will still be up for consideration going forward! It bears mentioning that this is hardly the only way for a new player or new character to get involved in threads, it's merely one more opportunity - and a good way for my own characters to meet some fresh faces, too! So who's available for team-ups? Glad you asked! Jack of all Blades - This community-minded, acrobatic hero creates energy swords and leads the low-power, high-impact team The Interceptors! The only thing faster than his blade is his tongue; his confrontational style is amusing to some and aggravating to others! Jill O'Cure - Younger sister to Jack of all Blades, Jill is a part-time medical student, part-time EMT, full-time source of deadpan snark. She uses her force fields and healing powers in defence of the West End and her biokinetic attacks to bring villains to their knees! Midnight II - Grandson and heir to Freedom City's original mystery man, Midnight is a shadowy figure of few words. Unmatched on a motorcycle and with a gadget for every situation, he brings his tactical acumen to the Liberty League's fight against fascism across the multiverse. Wail - The last surviving member of the 70s super team 1-800-JUSTICE, today Keith LaMarr works as a civics teacher at Joseph Clark High School. That doesn't stop Lincoln's sonic shouting, super tough, brick house of a hero from teaching fools a lesson! Ghost Girl - A cold, lonely death in the forests outside Thunder Bay was the end of one story and the start of another! This teenage poltergeist is a ray of sunshine and the chill of the grave all wrapped up in one incorporeal, effervescent package, freezing evil in its tracks! Set - In the Silver Age, Set the Destroyer was one of the Freedom League's most dangerous foes but that was then and this is now! This social media savvy rogue is looking to rehabilitate his - and just as often her - tarnished image and to look good doing it! Sekhmet - Not everyone is so ready to believe that the reincarnated Set has reformed and this warrior goddess has been saddled with keeping and eye on the trickster's antics. While she's in the mortal realm She Before Whom Evil Trembles stands ever stalwart! Rock - The stoney strongman of Captain Eclipse's crew on the Horizon is a walking quarry for hire with a heart of gold and fists of granite! Bodyguard, treasure hunter, smuggler, freedom fighter and more, you don't want to get stuck between Rock and a hard place! Nae-Dae - Rock's four-armed, foul-tempered companion, this Irreran wrench monkey can fix anything with nuts and bolts and is liable to try stealing anything that isn't nailed down! Sticking up for an underdog, though, is when she brings out the big guns! Reagent - A concoction gone wrong encased this teenage alchemist in stone, taking her from Victorian England to modern day Freedom City! If the culture shock wasn't enough, when in danger she transforms into an unstoppable behemoth: the Alkahest! You'll find links to all of their sheets in my signature. So be brave! Be bold! Be counted among Freedom's Finest!
  6. To celebrate the Cherry Blossom Festival this year, and not random coincidence and chance , I'm dusting off an idea for a thread set in Japan. I've already got one brave volunteer but I'm after another to get involved in a mystery in Tokoyo. I'm happy with characters in the 8=12 range and whilst Japanese would be nice it#s not essential.
  7. I need to get Brigandine into threads with other heroes now that she's around, and since it's sort of still in the middle of the school year, it doesn't seem right to just have a "new arrival at Claremont" thread. So instead we're going to say she's always been around and is only now getting her own title. This thread is going to be for PCs at the PL 7 or PL 8 level. It's going to involve a ruckus at Millennium Mall; I'm looking for two or three other PCs to be in it, besides Brigandine.
  8. Hello! Now that she's back to Earth, I have a little plot in mind that involves my character Mechanized. Time to introduce her arch-enemy, Steampunk! Formerly an engineer working for Emily's father, he was fired for stealing parts from work to create his personal robot prototypes, and over time he devolved into a Doc Ock wannabe. He also picked up magic skills and a way integrate them with steampunk style robots, before returning as a supervillain. In particular, he hates Emily because he believes her father favored her over himself, and the grudge only worsened when Emily beat him up a couple of times. Now, he's back for more. He holds civilian hostages and won't let them go until Emily comes over and fights him and his robot minions! This is going to be a good old superhero brawl, and I'm looking for a couple of heroes to help Emily along. To keep this thematic, I'd rather have tech or robot themed heroes.
  9. I am looking for three to four science/history/mystic PCs to investigate a rash of murders in a small, North Dakota town. This sleepy burg has had its population double since the discovery of shale gas underneath the land, and this has created a lot of tension between the settled population and the itinerant workers; the newly-flush citizens and those who remain impoverished; the oil company's workers and a group of hardcore eco-activists; the sane and the mad; etc.
  10. For quite some time now, Riff has been more or less unattached to any superhero team in the game and to be honest Riff not the sort of person that works well as a solo hero. Hes a Musician that plays Rock and Metal after all, he's at his best when hes in a band and not a solo act. Since I've been informed that there are a few superheros floating around that are currently unaffiliated who are not A ) Teenagers part of Next Gen or B ) Off in space having space adventures with all the other space teams, I thought I would check over here and see if there was any interest in a shiny new superhero team!* So , who is interested? *Name of superhero team still pending and is subject to change.
  11. I'm looking for two or three other PCs to be a thread involving alternate universe counterparts of themselves. These are going to be friendly, or at least non-hostile versions; the focus of the thread is going to be Jay confronting the fact that there are no alternate versions of herself. EP has graciously volunteered to GM, so he has final say on things.
  12. So, as it stands now there are going to be two threads coming up. One starting sooner. 1. Campout/Social thread/adventure in your mind! Errant attempts to have a bit of socially stuff with friends, and 'friends', and classmates, because... they tell him it is a wise thing to do. And then he accidentally imbibes hallucinogenic mushrooms... Oooooooo! Characters Involved: Errant, open. 2. Errant gets kidnapped by a nemesis, and is getting turned into a telepathic living weapon. His friends have to save him. This is set during during Thanksgiving, or in the chaos post Incursion resolution/new year what not.. Characters involved: Arrowhawk, Glamazon, Thoughspeed, Blod, (room for 1 or 2 more?)
  13. So I really should do something with this little team I've put together so I thought I'd offer this idea. Basically the characters will become trapped in an animated adventure. I'm hoping for a light hearted romp poking gentle fun at animated superheroes past and presents. I'm looking for four Claremonters to join the wacky fun, preference will go to current Next-Gen but they may be a spot or two for newcomers.
  14. Hi! I planned a little adventure to introduce my latest character, Nano Angel. What I'm looking for here is a team of 4-5 heroes with a mix of abilities, including psionic powers and technological knowledge. Synopsis: For the last several months, a mysterious hacker that goes by the name of Cyberskull has been wreaking havoc on the Internet, fooling even the best security systems thanks to his ability coupled with an astonishing amount of raw processing power. AEGIS has been trying to stop him without any success, but they've finally managed to pinpoint Cyberskull's location: a secret compound hidden deep in the Wharton State Forest. Time to assemble a superhero team and get rid of this villain!
  15. So, thread idea, with a side of 'see how Vector's doing' and 'because I have villain ideas, darn it' The Australian Superhero League's sending out a call for support in an operation against the villain Redback, a supervillain who's one of the Big Shots of the Australian scene for a number of reasons- one of which being that he's well-known for having killed the superhero Cloudrunner I- he seems to be expanding some of his operations, and some of the directions he seems to be going in are... disturbing, so the League's calling for some outside support- after the whole fuss with the Omega Boss, they're putting major focus into uprooting his organisation, and Redback seems to be... taking advantage. So, I need three to four PCs, ideally around PL10 or so. Any origin is fine with me.
  16. I was thinking that Mechanized could use a trip in the great beyond, to be introduced to the fact there's much more beyond Earth. Someone is willing to put up a space based adventure for her?
  17. So, an introduction thread for Shiranui! When a 16-year old girl is kidnapped, it turns out that the girl in question had recently developed powers of what may well have been a mystical source... and there's some signs that magic may have been involved in the kidnapping itself. As such, the heroes are contacted by the authorities/get involved. This plot would work with street-level or mystical characters- I still need to do some plotting out, so I can actually work the PL around whoever shows interest. So, who's interested?
  18. Hey folks... Do you have a hero who operates in the Fens? or knew the King of Suits well? As you may know, the King of Suits in a night when the Fens errupted into violence, its residents, lead by the Kings, throwing King Cole out of the Fens. It was dubbed "The Night of Two Kings". The Fens will honor its own hero in a rememberance service. If you are interested, we can have a short memorial service and social thread to recall him, and pay respects, and just a little hanging out? You may even wish your Fens street hero to have been involved in the Night of Two Kings (in which case let me know and we can add a post from you into the Lucky Shot thread). Anybody interested?
  19. “It was an ordinary day in Freedom City at least until a strange light was seen in the sky. That light grew and grew until it became a fireball that streaked across the sky. A meteorite fell from the sky and struck Freedom City right in the heart of Liberty Park. A resounding crash echoed throughout the city streets, followed shortly by the blare of car alarms and sirens. But this was no mere rock from the edge of space. It was alive, and it had a purpose.†And because this is a thread that I'm running, it's purpose will involve the heroes punching things. I'm looking for 3-4 PC's all PL 10+, not including Maxima who I will be playing in the thread. We'll say this place on 8/30 at around 10am or so. Anyone who would be around Liberty Park around that time, or have cause to investigate a falling meteorite are welcome. The thread will be pretty straight forward. It'll kick off with some combat shortly after the heroes arrive on scene before having some more plot / complications / investigations, which is then followed by some more combat.
  20. Because original titles are for witty people, who I am not among. First and foremost, Samaritan is very much approved, so I'd like to do a social thread intro'ing him to the school. Let's have some takers, eh? Second, I've mostly worked out (because names are hard) a nice plot for the Claremont brigade that'll introduce the Exiles to Freedom proper. Since going through proper channels would take tons of time (and I'm not that confident in a few of their builds anyway), they'd be plot devices this time around. The idea is that a random teen has woken up to some serious power. Doesn't quite know what to do about it. Radical Dreamer, being a seriously powerful precognitive, would have the Exiles either on the scene when things start to go bad, or recruiting Claremonters because things have can't be stopped from going or have already gone bad. And of course, there's a villain or three interested in this new powerful kid. Just to keep things nice and complicated. Third, I can do street level threads forever. You want one? Give me a shout. It won't be Chandler, but I'll keep things interesting. A pattern of robberies that doesn't fit anyone's established MO? Gotch covered. New dangerous drug on the streets? Done in my sleep. Rich kid's been kidnapped? Rescue time, gents. Corporation doing something shady that's just caught up with them? Makes four. I could go on, but you get the idea. I'm told a new GM is needed. I'm willing to help, even if my plotting skills are lacking.
  21. Who: Street level heroes, PL doesn't matter. If your PC hits the streets and fights thugs, drug dealers, etc, this is good for you. Should be a big part of their identity, but not required to be all of it. What it is: An organization, called The Network, that unites street level heroes with the goal of opening up communication channels. Heroes that are part of The Network will receive encrypted contact info for themselves and others, enabling them to get access to assistance. This could be information, a safe house to crash in, or even assistance from other heroes (provided they can and are willing). What it is not: This is not a team. These heroes would barely even see each other face to face unless help was asked and granted. In fact, players (and GMs) could feel fee to use the Network as a justification for why characters are teamed up in a thread. What the thread is: The thread is for the first meeting. If you want your character involved in the Network and the thread gets overcrowded, don't worry. Your character can still join the Network even if he or she isn't at the original meeting. Where: To Be Decided, but probably in a basement bunker. When: Also To Be Decided. If your character is part of the Network (which is likely if you ask), then your PC will receive an untraceable card, like a business card, with information on how to get involved. If your character is in the meeting thread, he or she has already gone through the process. The Mission Statement: To clean up the streets of Freedom City by talking with other heroes and trading information. Post away!
  22. I have been meaning to run a thread featuring Necromme (Occult brain in a jar NPC) for some time. Sounding out you folks if any interest? Ideally looking at PL 10 ish. Maybe just one or two PCs. Slightly favouring investigative, spooky, and human types. Magic background strictly optional. If anyone actually fancies being a distant relative of Necromme (which is possible, he is old old old and it could go back 200 years), that would be very interesting (and HP worthy!)
  23. I have the idea for a plot involving a rogue AI copy of a villain and an attempt by said villain to give the AI a new home. I'm thinking of two characters one of whom needs to have a computer in there head, though being Russian is optional .
  24. So, trollthumper's agreed to write a thread introducing Memorial (and, incidentally, THE COMMUNION), so here's a thread looking for 3 other characters who might have a reason to be in space to take part! Around PL10 is preferable.
  25. Who: Space-worthy heroes Where: Space Synopsis: Solar Sentinel gets a call from the aliens he helped defend in the war, and finds that there are those who don't want to have peace and are trying to spark things back up... Proposal Do you like space? Do you have a hero who could survive in space? Is your hero between around PL8 and PL12? Well, check this out; The Zarnashi are a race of people who live in a small corner of a faraway part of the galaxy, ruling over a relatively small empire of allied worlds. The Makh'rell are the neighbors of the Zarnashi who rule their own, slightly larger piece of the same area. The two of them had many small and moderately sized border disputes for centuries before all out war broke out just under a century ago. The two races fought a long, bloody conflict and ultimately, Henry William Mason lead the Zarnashi elites to the Makh'rell base world, punctured their defenses, and stopped the war. There are those who hate the peace and want to resume the war, even if it leads to genocide on one side or the other. Solar Sentinel, a respected man on both sides, has been called by the Zarnashi military to intervene and try to talk them down and prevent another bloody war. However, Henry is probably going to need help... PC relevant details Characters involved in this thread will probably need to either be able to survive in space or provide their own transportation through space. Not needing to breathe isn't necessary, but it can help. Characters may want ranks in Galactic Lore, and social skills might help.
