  1. GM Saturday, February 18th, 2017 Backstage, The Schuster Auditorium, Hanover 9:06 PM Today was the night of One Last Shot. As UWL’s traditional February PPV, it was the place where two men walked in, and one walked out. It was where the big storylines of the winter season ended, and the first seeds for Spring and Summer were sown. It was full of brutal matches, and it was full of heated confrontations. And, it soon would be the place of the debut that would influence the upcoming seasons. Backstage, things were rather quiet. The second most important match of the night had just ended, and now most people had gone to grab something from catering. As Glacier, now once more holding UWL’s Freedom Championship, returned to backstage, he immediately went to the group standing next to the technicians. Hedley “The Orangutan” DeShaek. Kwame “Hammer” Harris. Jesse “The Spur” Cassidy. Sharon “Vixen” Nelson. Zayn Lee. Save DeShaek, they all wore matching outfits. The moment they had been training for ever since joining the UWL was only one match away. Soon, they would be ready. He was just going through the program once more, to make sure everything was right. While the three would sneak in with the technicians setting up the final match and hide in the crowd (they had all gotten extra large hoodies), Kwame would stay backstage. And once the main event was over, it was time. He would stand there, make his entrance, and reveal himself, and his group-members, to the world. “Okay, that’s all, we’ve trained this. Now, get ready to go out there with the techies. And, guys, good luck. Let’s have a debut for the history books. “ Glacier had stayed in the background, but now walked up to them, smiling. “Let’s show them what you’re made of.”
  2. Saturday, February 5th Riverside Savings & Loan, Freedom City It was a sleepy day in Freedom City, the shining face of the Riverside Savings & Loan reflecting the sun off the surface of the river. Officer Morel pulled into the bank parking lot, noting that there wasn't much activity in the bank this Saturday morning. Usually plenty of folks were lined up early in the day to take care of their banking on the weekend. While Morel saw a few cars in the lot -- including a pair of cherry roadsters that looked to be from the 20s or 30s -- he didn't see anyone moving around inside the lobby. That prickled his senses and probably saved his life. The officer turned to reach for his car's radio, saw a glint of metal, and dove behind the engine block. Gunfire roared across the parking lot, rounds glancing off the pavement and exploding against metal. A figure stepped up to the broken bank window and Morel paused the gape at it. The man was dressed in an impeccable pin-stripe suit, wide-brimmed hat, and was balancing an honest-to-God Tommy gun on his hip. What shocked the police officer the most, though, was the face of steel and iron that looked out from under the hat. Another burst of automatic gunfire made Morel hug the ground. "That's right, copper," the metal-faced robber shouted. "Keep yer head down and keep the other flatfoots out of, and no one in here has to get whacked!"

  4. Claremont Academy January 3, 2017 Noon, EST Sunny, 45 degrees... An Orange colored tent was up with snow embankements around it, forming a snow-fort around the international orange bubble supported by pressurized ribs in a hexagonal pattern. But this was an experiment. A project that Claremont's resident Senior super-genius was doing. She was testing how this portable habitat could work out for terrestrial research efforts in the Antarctic. She had considered installing floats on the bottom for Arctic Ocean research, but she wanted to start off with baby steps. Although with the way the snow outside was melting from the recent snowstorm... it might be a considered an option. She did consider that the market for deployable consumer-grade tents with enough creature comforts to make even the most urban outdoors enthusiast happy could be an untapped market in general. A couple panels were peeled back revealing clear plastic membrane windows, as well as generous solar panel blankets anchored into the snow drifts facing south in the open field, the winter sun of the day filtering through clouds being kicked up by a near-miss of a Nor'easter heading for the Grand Banks. Sakurako was inside, sipping on a hot cocoa, looking up some information online with her laptop, otherwise spartan arrangements were set up inside: a collapsible table, a pink inflatable chair that she was sitting on, an inflatable couch, and what looked like an electric stove. She would have been proud of installing a portable restroom, but that would create a logistical nightmare for the school. So she's had to resign herself to the fact she'd have to return to civilization periodically to take care of herself. The tent itself was providing heat, and even had a shower stall, using heated melt-water as a water supply, something Sakurako enjoyed shoveling to try to get her willowy frame stronger. She'd have to be once AEGIS calls her in to start the real training soon... That was beside the point, a new Hero she ran into, a gentleman by the name of Hammer wanted some help, some advice in terms of securing his identity and place online. And she was happy to help. She looked at her smart phone for the time. "Well, this isn't a formal business meeting, so being late is expected... particularly if he's beaten up some bad guys or is doing a rescue or something. The greater good comes first." She looked over to the airlock-like doorway, awaiting a ring of the doorbell attached outside. "Added a few upgrades from the simpler model at the storm party a couple weeks ago... Now the cold air'll stay where it belongs... outside." She said, activating some firewalls with the type of encryption that would make the NSA Jealous... and paranoid.
  5. GM Wednesday, December 28th, 2016 “The Palace of Practice”, The Waterfront, Freedom City 8:47 AM The Palace of Practice, UWL’s fabled gym and training area, was quite a sight to behold. While the upper floors of the building belonged to the UWL’s business side, the basement was a large room, spanning the limits of the property the building stood on into all sides, with multiple floors in height. UWL was fairly big and popular, but that didn’t explain how they’d been able something like this. This place truly was the best way to exercise that various internet and industry rumours made it out to be. It accommodated various powers, from weights ranging up to multiple tons in the lowest floor, to a large open area going through all the floors for flying. Standing in a group on the topmost floor of the gym was Kwame Harris, Hammer. He was part of the UWL’s most recent batch of new hires, standing in a half circle together with about ten others, three women and seven men. He recognized three of them, people who had made it to some fame in the US, including Jesse “The Spur“ Cassidy, a Canadian with the ability to turn into iron (His real name actually was Lawrie Stott, but that didn’t matter). Kwame had worked a program with him for some months a few years ago, and the two still had some contact. On top of a small stage made of various wooden elements that were easy to move stood two people. Both of them were easily recognizable, and Kwame had dealt with one of them before. Hedley DeShaek, endearingly called the “Orangutan” by both fans and wrestlers. The former wrestler of some fame was UWL’s main booker, he was responsible for everything from storylines to the length of matches. The other, a tall masked man. His mask covered the upper part of his head, white and black, mimicking the look of feathers. His torso was undressed, while his pants fit the look of his mask. As the last few people found their way into the room, DeShaek began to speak, his mouth moving above his ginger full beard. “Good to see you all made it. Welcome, to Ultimate Wrestling League! And welcome to the Palace of Practice! You’ll be spending most of your time in here, but it’s cozy, no worries. Now, before we start, do any of you already have questions?”

  15. Monday, December 19, 2016 1:35 am "Ladies and gentlemen," began the slightly garbled voice over the speakers, "we'll be beginning our descent to Jordan International Airport in just a few minutes. Please stow your trays and bring your seat to the upright position." Kwame yawned and stretched before proceeding to follow the instructions. First, he put the tray before him away. Then he reached over and pulled the empty chair to his left up. The late night flight from O'Hare airport in Chicago to Jordan International in Freedom city was practically empty. Kwame took a moment to look around at the other passengers. Looks like there's only six others here in business class with me. A little more than I would have expected on such a late flight. I wonder why they're going to Freedom. Kwame gave a wide smile at the woman sitting in the same aisle when their eyes met. The gesture was quickly ignored as she turned away to fiddle with her belongings. That one must be a lawyer. With a briefcase like that, she must be a pretty good one. Still, there's no reason why she should be so rude. It was just a smile. "Damn it!" The exclamation drew Kwame's attention. He turned around to get a better look at the man four rows behind him. From the awkward position, Kwame figured the guy was some big honcho of a mid-sized company. The gray business suit and his pushy attitude towards the flight attendants were big indicators that his guess was correct. One of the flight attendants hurried passed Kwame to deal with the man. She was one of the older attendants on the flight. Kwame smiled inwardly as he remembered the private conversation they had earlier during the flight. I'm going to have to get her number. Maybe she'll be willing to show me around the city. Perhaps even stay a night or two. If we had more room, I'm sure I could convince Jenny to try some more interesting positions. "I said I bring me another bottle of wine! I don't care that we're about to land. I've paid good money for this flight!" Kwame frowned as the man began berating Jenny. She spoke in a softer voice in an attempt to calm the man but it didn't seem to be working. The man began swinging his arm about causing the attendant to flinch in fear. Kwame grabbed a magazine from the chair pocket, unbuckled his belt, and proceeded to move over towards them. Jenny caught his approach in the corner of her eye and shook her head slightly as if to get him to return to his seat. Kwame ignored the gesture and stopped next to her. He then dropped the magazine into the man's lap and smiled. "Excuse me, but I thought I'd bring over some reading material for you." The man looked up at Kwame's muscular frame and frowned. "What the hell are you talking about?" he asked as he lifted up the magazine to look at the front cover. His eyes widened slightly as he recognized Kwame's face on the cover. "Yeah, that's me. They call me Hammer when I'm in the ring. That was before I became a meta. If you keep up with this noise, you'll get a chance to learn first hand why I decided to keep the name." Kwame reached down for the magazine and flexed. The color quickly drained from the man's face as he watched the muscle seem to grow larger than any normal human's would. "Now, if you'd be so kind as to apologize to Jenny here, I'll let you prepare for our landing. We wouldn't want you getting hurt before we land now, would we?" The man shook his head quickly. "I'm sorry," he said in a subdued voice as he hastily stowed his tray and straighten his chair. Jenny simply nodded and gave Kwame a thankful look. Kwame returned the nod, took back his magazine, and returned to his chair. I think I'm going to like it here.

  17. Hammer - Kwame Harris Kwame Harris, aka Hammer, is a performer. He likes to showoff for people. That's why he became a wrestler. He was good at the job, but wanted something more. The sudden rise in super powered beings gave him the idea to become one himself. Having gained incredible strength, Kwame decided to move to Freedom city and join the Ultimate Wrestling League, an organization for super powered wrestlers. Now, he's turning his attention to helping protect the citizens from danger. In return, he hopes to spread his fame. History Kwame started life as a wrestler at the late age of 25 in the Pro Championship Wrestling (PCW) organization which lasted from 2006-2014. There, he took on the name Hammer and enjoyed a productive career, but Kwame always wanted to do more with his life. So, when the PCW closed its door, instead of hanging up his time in the ring, Hammer decided to join a new organization. Kwame then signed up with Total NonStop Action (TNA). His two years with TNA gave him a chance to perfect his two signature moves: HKO - a modified version of of a flying cutter, and his finisher, Hammer Down - a double handed leaping attack. His success was limited in the organization due to his desire for a bigger stage to test his mettle. By 2015, the world had fully embraced the existence of metahumans. Word of the Ultimate Wrestling League in Freedom City had spread and the profits were finally piling up. Kwame wanted in on the action so he began researching ways metas had appeared. Through his research, he learned of the various designer drugs on the market that would give a person superpowers. Costume and Appearance IMAGE GALLERY: Hammer wears a black t-shirt with red shoulders and a red H centered insignia. He has black fingerless gloves that cover his forearm. The area on the forearms has a red intricate design. His black pants cover 3/4 of his legs, leaving his calves bare. A red outlined star adorns the left leg. A red leather belt defines his waist. Hammer wears tall black boots that have a bit of red them. The costume was given to him when he joined the Ultimate Wrestling League. Powers Hammer has displayed enhanced strength and constitution. He also has super strength that he has managed to adapt to his wrestling style of fighting. Through the use of his improve musculature, Hammer has displayed the ability to leap far and run faster than normal humans. As he has just gained his powers, he has not learned how to use his strength from a distance other than throwing objects. A member of The Ultimate Wrestling League (UWL) Residence: Theater District Base of Operations: Theater District Catchphrase: “Time to knock some sense inta ya!” “It’s Hammer Time!” “Time for the main act!” Alternate Identity: The Hammer Identity: Public Birthplace: Chicago Occupation: Wrestler Affiliations: UWL (Freedom City Ultimate Wrestling League) Family: Older sister and younger brother living in Chicago. Description: Age: 35 (DoB: July 15, 1981) Apparent Age: 35 Gender: Male Ethnicity: African-American Height: 5’11” (180cm) Weight: 265lbs (120kg) Eyes: Brown Hair: Black but keeps he’s bald. Kwame is pure muscle. Unlike most powerhouse heroes, Hammer still looks relatively normal. If anything, he seems like a very dedicated bodybuilder, which he is. Power Descriptions: Hammer’s powers are manifested by pure muscles. He uses his superior strength to augment his wrestling fighting style. Having just recently gained his powers, Hammer has yet to learn how to use his powers in the traditional "powerhouse" fighting style. Instead, he uses his strength to power his devastating wrestling moves to great effect. It won't be long before life in Freedom city teaches him how to more effectively apply his great strength to helping the citizens of the city. History: Kwame Harris always wanted to become a wrestler. He grew up watching various wrestlers both in person and on TV. To fulfill his dream, he began working out to get his body into peak shape. He slowly began to gain a following in the wrestling world, but then Freedom City announced the newly formed Ultimate Wrestling League. Kwame saw the league as the next evolution to his dream. There was only the simple problem that he lacked any superpowers to allow him to compete in the league. Kwame didn't let that stop him. He began looking for ways to gain powers. Through his studies, he learned that some meta-humans gained their powers from manipulation of their basic genetic makeup. Kwame learned there were a number of drugs in the city that could enhance him. After a few months of fruitless pursuit, Kwame came across a shady dealer offering a drug guaranteed to give him enhanced powers. Kwame paid the large sum of money for the drug and returned home. Since he was unsure of the effects of the drug, Kwame made sure to take a leave of absence from his wrestling duties. Kwame took the drug and it had an immediate effect upon him. Unfortunately, it was not the intended effect as his hair fell out and he experienced constant pain. For months Kwame found himself restricted to his apartment as his body began to adapt itself. Now that his body has adapted to the changes, Kwame has moved to Freedom city to join the Ultimate Wrestling League. Personality & Motivation: Kwame sees Freedom City as the biggest stage to perform upon. With the large number of heroes and villains, the city has become a larger version of the Wrestling federation he once was a member of. Since his powers placed him in a league above the other wrestlers, he has turned his sights to becoming the greatest hero in the city. Now he can strive to become a star in the world of Heroes. Hammer is loud and friendly. He usually has a smile upon his face. Outwardly, his whole persona is way over the top but when he’s alone, a lot of his bravado disappears. Kwame is always acting in front of people. The act along with his powers tends to lull his adversaries into underestimating just how devious he could be when it counted. Powers & Tactics: Hammer is first and foremost, a showman. He likes to build up tension when he finds himself in a fight going so far as to fake the results of a blow. He starts by weakening his opponents with standard punches and kicks. From time to time, he places his foe into a submission hold. These holds vary depending on the area he wishes to weaken; leg locks are used to weaken a foe's ability to avoid attacks (vs Reflex), body locks to weaken a foe's ability to resist damage by applying pressure to nerve points (vs Toughness), arm locks and shoulder stretches are used to soften up the foe's ability to resist physical pain (vs Fortitude), and headlocks are used to rattle a foe's mental stability by inflicting pain directly on the head (vs Will). When he has his opponents on the ropes, he often uses that time to strut around getting any witnesses hyped up before delivering his finishing move, Hammer Down, a modified version of the Superman Punch. Hammer also likes to taunt his opponents throughout fights, treating his encounters as a typical wrestling match. Hammer uses his Eye rake as a means to further weaken his opponent as well as a way to escape grapples of other fighters. Hammer has taken his skills at wrestling to the streets. His punches and kicks are all signature wrestling moves. A suplex here, a drop kick there, are all ways that Hammer damages his opponents. It's when he goes for his special moves that things get interesting. Eye Rake: Hammer drags his fingers across an opponent's eyes, blinding them. [Dazzle visual] Hammer Down: Hammer's finishing move. After weakening his opponent, he poses slightly before performing a leaping attack. As he comes down, he he hits with his hands clenched together. His momentum and excessive strength increases the changes of a critical hit. [Damage (PF:Improved Critical 2)] HKO: aka Hammer Knockout is a modified version of RKO. Hammer leaps towards the opponent and grabs the opponent's head in a ¾ facelock while parallel to the ground, and then slams the opponent's face to the ground in a cutter. [Stun] Submission Move: Hammer likes to toy with his opponents. He quickly grapples whomever he is fighting and using his superior strength, weaken their ability to resist his attacks. [Drain any one save] Complications: Got to keep the fans happy: Hammer is always putting on a show. He likes to get bystanders involved and would easily allow for an opponent to regain their senses instead of quickly finishing them off. The World’s a stage: Hammer tends to make sure that any possible witnesses know that he is around. This has lend to situations where deliberately announce his presence instead of using stealth. Secret: As a role-model for young kids, Hammer has to keep the true origin of his powers a secret. I’m no chicken: Hammer can’t back away from a challenge.
