  2. GM Robbing banks is not the profitable business it once was. In the daytime you're more likely to leave with a bullet than leave with cash. And even if you did leave with cash, the banks in Bedlam aren't large enough to hold enough money to retire on. It just wasn't good money. What it was however was noisy. Especially in the dead of night, Hardwick Park was filled with the sound of an alarm blaring through the streets. Coupled with the unmistakable sound of glass shattering. A crowd slowly forming outside of the bank and actively egging on the crime being committed. And at the center of the commotion were the four thieves. They were Latina women armed with a crowbar, a steel chain, a hockey stick, and what appeared to be inflatable or enlarged boxing gloves. Boldly, they dared to steal from BMF National bank. A small local bank with only three locations. And each one was within Mara territory.
  3. Foreshadow II Gilles rolled his broad shoulders forward as he reached for his pint and turned around. "Oh ho monsters. Your children are past the bedtime. Careful wouldn't want to get caught in all this grime. This is not a place for your government sponsors." The French man apparently deciding to p play along with a rhyme scheme of his own. Though he wasn't versed in flitting, he clearly enjoyed talking smack. Foreshadow didn't engage in the exchanged barbs. Instead, he focused on the reactions of the patrons. Especially noting that Gilles had yet to answer his question regarding why the pub was still open. None of the other patrons had set off any alarm bells as far as his sixth sense was concerned. But, it was clear that the atmosphere had shifted from when they walked in. Alright, if it gets out of hand I'll step in. But, he's probably not stupid enough to get them too worked up.
  4. Everyone can also give me a Notice Roll! Since everyone's taking their own perched look on sight, at presumably different angles you'll get different results even if getting the same DC.
  5. He's able to find an intermittent flow of people arriving into the multi floor parking garage on various levels. It's possible to isolate a couple people who didn't have early start times.
  6. Foreshadow II I guess not everyone's good at following instructions. Erick mused as he took a sip from his glass. Ideally he knew he should use the crowd to find somewhere to sneak off to and change to his work clothes. But, if someone was potentially in trouble. He's never had any reservations about fighting out of costume. As long as he stuck to traditional boxing it was enough to fool most eyes. Hm, I'm tempted to just jump down to the floor below and follow them. But, I'm not exactly dressed to impress. As he telepathically messaged his fiancé, Erick reached for the table cloth off a nearby table and in a smooth motion pulled it off without even taking care to prevent anything from falling to the ground. The lack of auditory clue was an adjustment, but it also provided the perfect cover to avoid making a sound when breaking glass and dishware.
  7. Foreshadow will roll Gather Info for Well-Informed (17). Identifying the portentous blinged out man as Mihalis Dimitriadis a second generation Greek immigrant and heir to the Dimitriadis media group. But, nothing much past that.
  8. GM Most of the hectic crowd stopped in their tracks. There were still a few people who were too caught in their flight response to listen to reason. But, most were reassured by hearing the voice of one of UK's premier superheroes in their head. Some people began looking around for where she was but mostly they began falling in line with the given instructions. But the club had attracted quite the crowd beforehand. It would take some time for everyone to file out in anything resembling an orderly matter. It only took a few seconds for the Erick's signature foresight to hit. Through their shared connection Dee was given a direct view of Erick's precognitive vision. The man she had spotted earlier was about to be forcibly dragged into the kitchen area by one of the women accompanying him. On its own the vision didn't seem to imply impeding peril but it was strange.
  9. That's enough to tell him that Detective Archer is a decorated detective of the FCPD with years of outstanding service. She was accused of some crime years ago that made the evening news, and Ghosts doesn't remember the exact details. But, hey she still has a shield so was probably not guilty.
  10. Notice wouldn't pick up anything with a 20. But Sense Motive will beat Detective Archer's Bluff (10) . Detective Archer was definitely withholding something when questioned about magic but also Singularity's able to tell that her having not been in the closet was not a lie!
  11. GM "I haven't been in any closets since high school." Detective Archer joked though barely cracking a smile as she pushed through the question. "The crime scene technicians still have the scene, and I have been interviewing witnesses until you all came and volunteered your services. We were actually waiting for a social worker to come down, but middle of the day. It's hard to get in between the packed schedules." It didn't take an expert to tell that from her tone that the word witnesses was very generous. Considering the news reports of everyone falling asleep. It was at this point she actually answered both Singularity's latest request and Ghost's earlier one of seeing the supply closet. "You may examine the closet. I will have to accompany you of course. Just...try not to make a bigger scene"
  12. Maybe his adoptive family has extended relatives there?
  13. Ghost can see that there's nothing! As in no escape hatches, no hollowed out walls, no hidden by the bookshelf doors. There's also no bookshelf but when listing tropes! However the bad guys left it wasn't something hidden in the building's infrastructure as far as he can see.
  14. OOC for this thread in which people go missing! @Tiffany Korta@Kaede Kimura@RocketLord
  15. I'm not bothered by a rebuild at all. Letsee. Started four out of five threads. Added Foreshadow to Assassination Classroom (Since I only had Vanguard interest there. Which means I'm also up for any other Vanguard PCs that want to join in on there Still need more for Bedlam in Bedlam. Especially since the opening will include a Not!Wrecking Crew. But, yep just recruiting for Bedlam in Bedlam.
  16. MarsTech Campus Emerald City, Oregon.Wednesday, March 10th, 20219:15 AM Sydney Alexander is Mars Tech's Chief Operations Officer. Second in command as far as the administrative day to day was concerned it came as a shock when she never made it home after clocking in for the night. That is to say, she never made it out of the building either as her vehicle could still be found in the parking garage. Then came the real commotion. First, MarsTech announced not only a reward for anyone who had information relevant to the safe return and recovery of the missing executive. But, also that any Ultio suit rentals for the party who found her would be half off for a year. But MarsTech was not the only company to offer a bounty on Sydney Alexander's safe return. In fact, Majestic Industries and Kesscorp both offered competing bids for information on her recovery. Exclusive information that was. Almost as if it wasn't a living person they were competing for the technology giants were attempting to claim their own stake in Ms Alexander's safety. It seemed the only person(s) not weighing in on the missing Ms. Alexander was whoever kidnapped her. If this was in fact a kidnapping. The multinational business empire came to a screeching halt seemingly dedicated with one goal in mind. Maximillian Mars was nowhere to be found. Leaving the public perception that Grace Graves, one of Maximillian Mars' personal assistants, had taken over Sydney Alexander's duties in the interim. Going so far as to personally answer police, reporters, and would be heroes questions. And yet, not a single answer had yet to have turned up as to where Sydney Alexander had disappeared to. The when and the how also lingering in the air.
  17. GM "A child was taken from her mother." Detective Archer answered rather frankly. Sidestepping whether they could visit the room the child had been kidnapped yet. She moved on to Aquaria's offer. Apparently open enough to what Ghost and Aquaria were offering to listen. "You can hear spells? So was this magic, like for sure for sure? Department 32 has our magic guys. That paperwork's going to be a real pain." "No you're not under arrest. Honestly, you'd have to be some real sickos to return to the crime scene so soon after. Which I don't believe to be the case," Detective Archer paused. Her eyes shifting to the glass pane on the door outside. And the occasional wandering eyes from the nurse station. "Although, I said that. I'm sure plenty are already writing you all off as suspects. Probably won't take long til it's a social media rumor. Consider this a more gentle hand than being detained and wasting all our times. I don't want to cause any undue stress on the victim's family. Time is of the essence when it comes to these things. And I'll take anything that will help cut the time down. If you can truly help, fine, I am willing to talk to the family and see if they're willing to speak to you. "

  19. Riley's Pub Peterborough, England'; UK. Saturday, March 20th, 20212:01 AM In the heart of rural East England and the center of Peterborough lied Riley's pub. Riley's was the very definition of a seedy pub. Though tough to see from the stained glass windows the lively atmosphere could be heard before one even entered. There were various billiards tables and tvs throughout the property. Though the noise itself made attempting to actually listen to a tv set a failed experiment. The clientele consisted of various roughnecks and known criminals. With hardly a full set a teeth among the lot. To say nothing of the smell. In the center of Riley's was a boxing ring. As Foreshadow explained, before the trio arrived, housed various underground bare knuckle boxing tournaments. The most well known of which was something called the Blood Brawl. Suffice to say, it wasn't exactly Cape territory. Various eyes following the members of the Vanguard as they made their way to the bar in the back. There sat an elderly yet muscular black man. He was missing an eye, half his arm, and an entire leg replaced with a prosthetic. Before Foreshadow invited them to come with him, he had explained they would be meeting this man as a favor. He was Gilles Gordeau the man who trained Foreshadow in Savate. And former kneebreaker for various organized crime families. And all around dangerous thug. Who spent his days now coaching underground bare knuckle boxers for still legally questionable pay. "Bonjour, Gilles. You know pubs should have shut down hours ago right?" Gilles didn't turn to look at the three members of Vanguard and instead dismissively waved his remaining hand. "Eh, I say to come alone. You bring children on to my establishment. Soft. Too soft. This is no babysitting service"
  20. Everyone starts off with an HP! But also, Aquaria's Auditory Magic Awareness is going crazy. She can hear magic all up on this floor. Especially from Detective Archer.
  21. GM When Sea Devil and Singularity arrived at the hospital, much like Jessie White feared it didn't take long for the police on the scene to corral them to an empty room for questioning. What was unexpected, is that they weren't the only person in the empty delivery room to be questioned. Ghost's reputation with law enforcement was equally shaky. Despite the trio's good intentions it was clear that they had become the prime suspects. "Alright, alright. Give us a moment" Detective Valerie Archer waved away two enthusiastic uniformed police officers. The Latina detective looked between at the two humans and one Deep One. Then without saying a word she locked the door and placed her forehead against the door. Sighing in open frustration before finally addressing the three. "I'm sorry there's nowhere to sit. But, I think it's better than the visual of dragging three heroes to the station for a bad photo op. I'm Detective Archer with the Major Crimes unit, assigned to this kidnapping. I assume you're here to help?" It didn't take super senses to hear the loud whispering out in the hallways. Even above the beeping of the various medical implements and broadcasts, one could hear the audible suspicion as a second group of flashily dressed people(and Deep One) arrived on the ward.
  22. GM After some time they charted the route and began swimming one hundred miles off shore. Up until they began descending everything had gone uneventful. The darkest depths of the Mariana Trench had all manner of wildlife and . But, what wasn't immediately apparent was signs of the Sea King's former facility. That wasn't to say there weren't signs of an Atlantean outpost at all. Atlantean carvings remained on stone structures laid out in a circular pattern. There were scattered weapons all about. And signs of lighting. All these things pointed to Atlantean activity at some point in time. In the center of it all was what appeared to be half of a giant frog with some sort of German letters. Swimming around one would be treated to a clearer view. It was some sort of abandoned robotic submersible that had been cut cleanly in half. The insides imploding under the pressure afterwards, but there were no nearby remains. So the passengers did not die with the vehicle.
  23. Tsunami Initial expectation shows signs of seafloor erosion. The trench being even deeper than normally reported. However, Tsunami's keen eye is able to distinguish that despite being decades removed whatever caused the erosion was not natural. There are scattered signs of uneven erosion focused around the most hazardous locations such as the volcanoes near the ring of fire and the subduction zones. Almost as if someone attempted to start a massive natural disaster at some point. Luckily, the bottom of the trench does not currently appear to be a risk for such a disaster. Artificer It may be hard to see in the darkest depths even with his of low-light vision, Artificer's senses are able to feel a strong magical presence in the soil. His years of study on teh subject make him acutely aware of the fact that what he's feeling is a strong convergence of ley lines in the area. However, the Ley lines have become damaged over the course of time, Whether by extreme magical forces or other monumental events he can't quite narrow down. The damage has left a supernatural bruise that bleeds out into the location surrounding the convergence. This was not an easy feat and either required advanced preparation or divine assistance.

  25. Lor Star Navy 3rd Strike Group [AKA the Spear of the Republic] .3 AUs from the remains of Lor Van Lor time mark 1972.3 [April 7th (Terran Calendar)] Chiliarch Valerius Detinson , was a high-ranking member of the Lor Star Navy. In command of an unconventional warfare focused strike group, the Chilliarch was always ready for war. The carriers in his fleet were armed enough with enough firepower to bombard any Khanate property for days on end. A fact that his men were quick to brag about. Those of whom weren't bragging about which generation clone of Valerius they were. Despite the access to the advance medical technology of the Lor fleet, Chilliarch Detinson's body was a tapestry of his 70 years in the Star Navy. Scars adorned every inch of his scalp. A cybernetic replacement sat where his eye would be. And even his uniform looked outdated by modern Lor military standards. He was not exactly the sort of man to reach out lightly. So the weight of what it meant when Valerius reached out with a coded message to the capital Valerius was not taken lightly by the Capital. It wasn't long before many arms of the Lor Star Navy including the Republic Colonial Scout Corps and even the Praetorians were brought in. So that Chilliarch Detinson could describe. Two Lor exploratory vessels had managed to disappear without a trace. It was confidential information that the Lor would not share with outside parties if given any other choice. A week ago a second wormhole had appeared near the former capital of the Lor Republic. Running parallel to the existing wormhole it created a somewhat stable Roman Ring with chronological readings whose applications had yet to fully be researched. So two exploratory vessels complete with multiple armed scout ships were sent to survey the land once the wormhole was deemed stable. But, as soon as they traversed through the spatial irregularity all contact was lost. The ring is now showing signs of fracturing within another week and with it the wormhole. If it disappeared before the missing Lor would be lost. Possibly forever.
