  1. During the whole exchange Blodeuwedd had stayed just behind Myrmidon, ready to react if his bluff didn’t work. She made a mental note of just how easily he’d commanded the two, she assumed, clones. Another strange event of this day to mental store away for a later time. <> As she talked she kept scanning the corridor in case anyone else decided to investigate the alert they’d triggered. All the while try to keep up the façade of being just another of the facilities troopers.
  2. For the first time since Amir had first met her Merge actually seemed lost for words. She sat there for several second almost open mouthed She then gestured over the waitress to order her food, and recovered her composure. Finally she’d recovered enough to answer the question. “It seems I’ve misjudged you, not something that happens to me often. You can’t understand how much I’m tempted to accept this offer. But there are thing I’ve got to do, important things, that might mean I’ve got to do less than savory thing to achieve them. And I couldn’t, I wouldn’t, drag you into that world even if it’s by association.†She managed a sad smile “I just hope this isn’t a limited time offer…â€
  3. Compared to its rather impressive arrival the journey itself was rather unremarkable, just a strange feeling of vertigo and they were somewhere else. The room itself was a rather plain concert room, but was packed with a variety of equipment that wouldn’t look out of place in the top laboratories of Freedom City. Standing beside the General were two soldiers in similar uniforms to her own. <“If you don’t mind we’re going to shut down the portal. I thought that these two might be of use to you. Centurion Gurt here speaks the Germania tongue, whilst Brix here has spent time in an area of Gaul that speaks a tongue similar to your own.â€>
  4. “Well I’m not supposed to, but I could hardly refuse a request from the famous Rene de Saens. Best to do it now before this place really gets busy. If you wish you can bring along your friends.†When ready she led them up the left most of two magnificent marble staircases, which met in the middle before continuing upwards. By the looks of things this was where the painting was going to be placed for its big reveal. For now however she continued upwards to a room just off the main landing. The room was guarded by two armed soldiers; it was a mark of the painting cultural importance that it was protected by the elite soldiers of the Legion. Sophie had a brief, a heated, conversation with one of the two guards. It seemed that they were not happy to show the painting to anyone until its allotted time. It seemed that she however had the authority to do this and after snapping of a salute he open the door into the room. “If you’d like to follow me…†Sophie gestured before walking into the room.
  5. Despite the time of the day the tavern was suspiciously busy. To Rene’s trained eye it was obvious that most of the patrons are soldier and rogues of one sort or the other. Whilst they are arranged haphazardly there main aim seems to stop people from reaching the stairs at the far end of the tavern. This was confirmed by the several burly men that were guarding the foot of the stairs. Without skipping a beat Constance made her way to the simple bar at one end of the room. “We’ve travelling far to taste the famaous wines of the Sinking Ship, all the way from the Domrémy region.†She handed him a coin, which instead of its normal faces carried the three Fleur-de-lis of the royal family. Passing a glass, of what appeared to be serviceable wine, to Rene she raised her own in a toast. “To the Maid of Orleans.†All this seemed to do the trick as the Tavern keeper nodded to one of the guards, who went up the stairs.

  7. “Well that sounds like a plan. We’d be happy to scout for you.†For the first time she saw exactly what Subito was wearing. She went over and gave him a chaste kiss on the cheek, having to bend down to do so. “I just love a man in uniform.†She turned to the rest of the room “We’re partners as well as, well, partners it stop’s unresolved sexual tension.†She didn’t expect them to get the reference, but she was enjoying herself. “Oh a Sharps long rifle, I prefer the Baker myself, may I?†she gently took the rifle out of his grasp and stated testing the weight. She them began twirling the rifle around in a quiet impressive display, before planting the gun on the ground and snapping off a perfect salute. “Yeah we’re not going to need this.†She threw the gun to the Captain without looking at him “Now about these maps, and maybe some breakfast.†She leant in and whispered to Subito “I hear historic calories don’t count.â€
  8. She couldn’t help but feel a flush of pride at the Supervisors comments. Whilst she had supervised her own ops, with varying degrees of success, but this was her first official operation. But whilst she was beaning on the inside she kept her demeanour neutral. “What you got to understand about creatures like the Afanc is that are much things of myth as much as they’re creatures of flesh and blood. In some ways more so. They tend to act in certain way’s not out of some instincts but because that the way the stories say they at.†Whilst they finished off their picnic she told Subito some of the legends about the various Afanc’s that inhabited Wales, including a few that had never been recorded anywhere else
  9. “I suspected as much, but it’s good that you spotted them.†Rene couldn’t tell if she was being genuine or just humoring him. “Follow my lead inside, if asked your my bodyguard. It’s not safe for a woman to travel unprotected in these time. But loyal also to the cause, they wouldn’t let a mercenary into the Countesses presence.†She gave a small smile “And I want you to be there, despite what you think we’re partners in this venture till the end.†She pulled the buggy up to the tavern and dismounted, petting the buggy’s horse whilst she waited for Rene to join her.
  10. There was a tiny part of Blodeuwedd that wanted to just give up and go home. But there was also a stubbornness that meant she couldn’t, she wouldn’t, just give up. Only now surrounded by other students did she begin to realise just how difficult being Cerys would be. “You’re all being very kind, well at least I think you are…†she gave Crow a quizzical look, then a little grin, at his statement “I suppose I could try some of the more physical activities. I’ve done a little Parkour and Freerunning, but it’s a little difficult to do in a village. Same for any kind of climbing, Freedom City's perfect for Buildering. I’ve also done a little archery; we’re famous for the Longbow after all. It’s just finding people to compete with on an equal level, especially in a school like this.â€
  11. She gave a sly smile as she looked at the credit card. “Ah you’re working on a false assumption. That this is all about the money. I’m here sitting here because my employer left me out to dry, revenge if you like. I have my reasons for what I’ve chosen this lifestyle, not that I feel like sharing my reasons…†She got out a pen and wrote on one of the restaurants napkins. “I really don’t want a reward for doing this, surprising at that seems. But if you feel the needs to repay me for my services, this is the name of one of the finest Neurological expert in the city.†She slid the napkin towards Amir “She’s also almost impossible to get a consultation with. I don’t have the influence or the money. All I ask is a promise that you’ll try to arrange a meeting no questions asked.â€
  12. Sense Motive 1d20+8=22, her lawyer senses to the rescue .
  13. Initiatives are: 24 Starlight, 4HP, unharmed 22 Synth, 1HP, unharmed 12 Grue, unharmed So Starlight to start.
  14. Well she doesn't have no taste, but it is severely reduced so she can only detect strong flavours. If that counts I'll take the HP.
  15. Freedom City was a place of many strange sights and sounds. But even the most jaded of the city dwellers had to marvel at the sight of Lord Steam Airship taking to the air, a magnificent object all brass and wood gleaming in the sunlight, steam pouring from its engines. It kept low in the sky, for safety sake the various Aviation authorities insisted that the Airship stayed below the normal flight paths Lord Lockwoods staff were as efficient as ever and a flight path had been cleared all the way to their destination.
  16. Lucy happily accepted the Champaign with a broad smile at the Matre’ d. It didn’t have any effect on her, and she didn’t really taste the alcohol, but it helped to maintain her cover. “Try not to enjoy the Champaign to much Doctor; I need you to keep a clear head in case trouble starts. And don’t worry about the cost of the meal, I have money stashed away. It’s one of the advantages of not having to normally eat or drink. Unless you want to go Dutch, I’m a modern 20th Century girl…†It wouldn’t be that easy but she scanned the room looking for someone who fitted the man description of this Vampire, despite herself of cause.
  17. A brief interlude with Grue drones. Initiative please. Grue Assassin 1d20=12.
  18. At the Commanders insistence they were all ushered up onto the bridge, in case the Lor contacted the ship immediately. Which was fortuitous as everything wasn’t as it seemed. Everything seemed to happen at once. Lavender noticed that they weren’t in the part of the Soo-Tine system that they had decided upon. Whilst Starlight and Synth notice that the ships Helmsman was getting up from her seat, some form of blaster in her hand. All the while the Holotable showed a approaching ship that was defiantly not of Lor design, but a small Grue craft.
  19. â€I’m sorry what did you say? Ah you have your pistol ready.†She held her hand out “Best I keep it somewhere safe, we have to assume they will try and confiscate any weapons from her presence. There are places where a man would never search a woman.†She gave a knowing look. The Sinking Ships was a substantial building, designed in a time when it might have defended itself again. It had prospered from those arriving too late to enter the city at nightfall. Especially in these uncertain times. Around the Tavern were some supposed locals gathered in small groups around the building. Rene soldiers eye saw that however relaxed appeared they was keeping a shape eye on the coming and goings on the road, and all their weapons were in good condition and ready for action.
  20. It was the old tension between the warriors and the seers. As an infiltration expert she needed knowledge of the Arcane side of their business, so she straddled the line between the two sides. It didn’t help that one of the two warrior here would probably have inherited Dyrnwyn if it hadn’t been for the Seers prediction of possible doom. She couldn’t help but give a grin at Subito’s pure enthusiasm. Whilst she could appreciate the cold logical method of the Order, his can do attitude was infectious. “I’m sure you can If we could capture the Afanc not only could we subdue the beast we might be able to trace the magic used back to its source. It unlikely that they would use magic from the Otherside, its different time flows would make control difficult. If we’re lucky they’ll have a link here in Wales."
  21. There was a brief pause whilst coffee was served, and Merge asked them for a few minutes to consider there order. “So I went through the portfolio to see what could be worth so much effort. Most of its was straight forward stocks, share and some property. All of which are still being maintained, you old romantic you!†she gave a little smile “The stand out was a safety deposit box in her name. So I managed to get into the vault and take a peek inside, and no I won’t tell you have I did it, and of cause it was empty. But of cause you must have done all this as well, as I’ve said before you’re not a stupid man. But I’ve got avenues of inquiry that you couldn’t even think about, and wouldn’t consider investigating…â€
  22. “Well I can’t gave away too much, after all the whole point is the reveal†after a though she blushed a little and looked embarrassed “And of cause to celebrate the foundation of the French Republic." she sipped her champagne to calm her nerves But as it you Monsieur de Saens I could reveal a little of my findings.†Beatrice gave a conspiratorial wink. She pointed up at the noble looking visage of the mysterious lady. “Everyone agrees it’s a 19th Century painting, but her clothing’s all wrong it contains influences different periods. But then I figured it meant to be like that.†She displayed real passion about her work as she spoke “Then I remembered a story about a flamboyant figure from the Terror… But I’m revealing too much.â€
  23. Blodeuwedd there was something comforting about the general chatter going on around the table. It was a nice change from the rapid improvising she had gotten use to in Freedom City. She was In a strange situation, she was still there junior in age and the order, but she had also seen and done thing that none others had experienced. And there was Subito, it shouldn’t have bothered her what he thought about her, but for some reason she really wanted him to still think of him as the cool kick ass woman. It wouldn’t hurt to make a few observations here and there. <â€Is it to late to sooth the beast back into slumber? If not is it worth trying to subdue the creature until we can find the Twylyth Teg and break there enchantment?â€>
  24. Merge didn’t seem at all bothered by Amir’s blasé response. Instead she polity ordered a coffee, her voice full none of her normal bounciness. She sipped her water before speaking. “I hope you don’t mind my subterfuge, but I remember you saying that I’m not welcome at your offices. How are the refurbishments going anyway?†she paused slightly before continuing, waiting for some kind of response from Amir “This isn’t the magazines fault they did book this interview, I just hijacked the event. I wouldn’t normally do this, but I think I’ve found out something you’d like to hear. I’ll even cover the cost rather than let the magazine pay for it.†It was hard to tell with Merge but she seemed to be telling the truth.
  25. Attack Roll 1d20+9=29 yay! I'll take the +5 so he'll need a 23 Toughness Save.
