Art Work?

I guess this is as good a place to set up shop as any. Hello and welcome to the magical world of Art!!! OK, it's not that magical, and it's not exactly a "world". BUT(!), it is Art. Specifically art that is inspired by the forums, characters, and chat here at FreedomCity pbp. I appreciate any comments critiques, helpful nudges, requests... basically anything but flaming and insults are welcome here. If this thread should be moved just let me know where it ends up so I can keep posting to it. The List A list of art projects that have yet to be completed Self Assigned: Gaian Knight - Fox Rogue - Chumpsteady Hellion - Cyroa Requested: Colt - Quote Breakdown - Quote Valkyrie - Quote Kid Cthulhu - Lone Star Los Links!!! A list of links that show locations where you can find the images I post here (just in case something happens to the source). There will also be links to other artwork of mine that does not pertain to Freedom City pbp. Plus(!) on my DA you can download the images at full resolution! They look better when you have more pixels imo. [*:i4ako53y]Freedom City on Deviant Art - Literally, this is the same stuff I posted here. Nothing new, just bigger! [*:i4ako53y]Random stuff I've done - This page is basically just stuff I've been happy enough with to publish online (as not everything goes online) [*:i4ako53y]This comic I drew a long time ago - This one isn't my best work mostly due to it's age, but also (mostly) do to my age at the time I drew it. Please do not be too harsh in criticisms about this piece.
2. Blitz shook his head to shake out the buzzing sensation he felt in his brain. He looked around the room and saw the science techs stopping what they were doing and looking at them. Blitz’s face contorted with disgust as the techs transformed in front of them, his eyebrow raising to it’s highest reach. His body sparked as he prepared to run into the fray. The air vacuumed into the space he left behind with a soft FWOOMP. Blitz ran across the room, his right arm beginning to spark heavily, leaving a glowing blue streak in the air as he ran across the room. The “lab tech†on the right looked like a good target to Blitz. So he ran past the lanky-spiky creature and landed his hand on the guy’s arm. Blitz had tried this move only a few times before so he was still new at it. As a result the electricity that had been building in his arm simply arced across the surface of the Lasher without harming it. ’Crap!’ Blitz berated himself mentally, ’I need more power next time!’ He ran past the group of mooks and proceeded further into the room, hopefully out of attack range.
3. BLAST!!! Fiiiiiiiiiine. I shall make the appropriate IC post... muttering darkly: stupid defense shifted lashers... I'll get you next time you jerks...
4. OK, so this is gonna be the first time I use this attack on the boards: Static Discharge. Blitz knows that the general equation "Rocks > Electricity" from his pokemon playin' days so he's gonna go for one of the Lashers on this attack. The roll is 1d20+9=21. I have no idea if that hits or not, but past experience tells me that PL 10 characters usually do get hit by rolls of 21. Fort save (DC16) to not get bad conditions!
5. OK, action goes like this: Move, Rush, move-by action to keep moving, fluff moment to stop and admire his work, mechanically keeps moving down the bridge. I'm going to say that Blitz doesn't actually reach the bots this turn, just to be on the safe side. :p
6. 'Blah, blah, blah!' Blitz's mind was all mixed up. The pain from the chainsaws, the pain in his torn up hands and fingers, the fatigue of pushing himself past his normal physical limits, and now the mentally fatigue being set in by that metallic maniac Talos broadcasting his hate message across the bridge. The falling bridge. That was another thing that was eating away at Blitz's mind. He couldn't save the people on the bridge, not all of them anyway. He could get one maybe two of them at a time off of this collapsing structure, but there just wouldn't be enough time to save them all. Then something astounding happened; the riverbed rose out of the river and made a secondary support structure underneath the bridge proper, completely halting the slow fall of the bridge. "Well... That makes things a bit more manageable." Blitz's body sparked as he sprinted along the surface of the bridge stopping when he arrived at the site where he had punched that pretty-boy-bot. What he saw there made his stomach drop. The robot with the liquid metal skin was standing there amidst the flaming, exploded remains of a car (probably the van that had been surrounded by that energy dome), the hero he had been fighting laying unconscious on the ground. Shaking his head Blitz said, "Tin-man you made a big mistake showing up here." The speedster's muscles tightening and his body sparked from unsuppressed power now leaking out of him. "Last I heard you were supposed to keep electronics away from water." Blitz ran directly for Keres. He put his hands out in front of him, tackling stance for any of the players on the school team, and pushed the robot up off the ground. It was easier when he was moving as fast as he was, lifting the robot just off the ground and pushing himself to his limits to throw Keres off the bridge. The edge of the bridge came up, Blitz thrust Keres as hard as he could out over the water. Blitz wasn't able to watch the progress of the robot, he had to keep moving or else he'd fall off the edge himself. He ran down the new support structure under the bridge, around the huge pillars and back up to the bridge surface again. Time reverted to it's normal flow and Blitz took a moment to watch with blatant satisfaction written on his face as he watched Keres fly out over the bay and out of sight. He smiled and gave a small nod before running down the bridge to help the rest of the heroes fight the remaining bug bots.
7. OK, since that little complication has been taken care of, I'll just go push him. Rush attempt will be +7 since Blitz has no strength bonus currently (Fatigued Condition) and +7 due to his Speed power: Roll is 1d20+7=27 HELL YEAH NAT 20!!! That means that Keres has to hit a 27 on a strength check to resist the charge and make Blitz bounce off of him like a very small rock. I'd like to see what the result is before I make my post tho (for dramatic reasons), so I'm not gonna make the IC post yet. I await the results from Keres' save with eager anticipation!
8. See, now that sounds like a good idea. Rock Bat + Epic Strength of the Sun God = smashed up bug-bots Approved!
9. Blitz nodded to Kid Cthulhu's words. 'He's right. We can't save everyone. All we can do is try.' The thoughts weren't comforting, they were simply true. All he could do was move on from this failure and do better next time. Blitz reached into his back pocket and pulled out a small disposable cellphone and dialed 911. "911,what is your emergency?" "Hello!?" Blitz said into the phone, his voice was hysterically high, in a falsetto, and his breathing rapid and uncontrolled. "Hello, is this the police?" "Ma'am calm down, what is the emergency and where are you?" "Oh my god! I'm at the airport! There was an explosion and now there's a fire! Please you have to get here now! I think there were people who got hurt!" "Alright, Ma'am we--" Blitz hung up the phone before the woman on the other end could finish her sentence. He looked at Kid Cthulhu and put his phone back in his pocket. "They respond faster to crying women than to composed teen boys from my experience." Blitz shrugged and then looked around for a rope or a chain or something that he could use to tie up the thugs long enough for the cops to arrive. He found a long length of what looked like towing cable and used his super speed to tie all of the thugs together in a tangled "web". It'd take them at least 10 minutes to figure out how to get untangled and untied, and they'd be passed out for a little longer on top of that, and the cops usually had a response time under 8 minutes for stuff at the airport. They were as good as caught; it was time to book it. "Let's get outta here before the cops arrive. They usually get pretty pissed when the airport gets lit on fire." As soon as Kid Cthulhu would start to move, Blitz would follow at a reasonable speed.
10. I'm cool with making a post that has some of Blitz's actions written in. Assuming that Blitz does something that he's obviously gonna do seems like a completely logical thing to do, so go for it.
11. Quote, if you have Val tell Blitz that that's her plan, he can sprint to that location and they can probably share an epic entrance. Just a thought.
12. Blitz smiled and shook his head just a little as Valkyrie ran down the hall, hammer in hand, screaming as she charged in to "war". She really was a crazy viking. It hadn't just been a show for the sake of the group of hero's after all. It was kinda refreshing to see a crazy hero when it seemed like most of them were pretty well balanced... at least... most of them. He gave himself a quick shake and jogged off after Valkyrie just as the doors behind him exploded off of their hinges. His considerable speed allowed him to keep up with her easily; it was actually child's play, Blitz wasn't even moving fast enough for the speed to alter his perception of time. He plodded along after Valkyrie and decided to ask, "So... do we know where we're going or are we just running along until we find someone else?"
13. I'm with Quote; I'm differing to someone with more experience to be honest.
14. I know that technically I can't have Blitz go back and forth and keep dragging out the C's. However, since combat's over, I'm just writing it off as several "actions". I know for a fact that he can actually make the trip in a single move action but I can't grapple enough times in a single turn to do this so I'm just saying it's something he's doing (especially since the bodies of the C's can't fight him right now). I'm also not going to award Blitz a hero point since I'm just assuming that he's fast enough to get into and out of the smoke without a problem (but mostly because I think that would be self-servient). I think that's it for combat though... The C's are all incapacitated and the drugs are burning. I really don't think that there's much for Blitz and KC to do except to "tie-em-up" so to speak.
15. The standing thug ran out of the billowing smoke cloud, tendrils of ash floating from his shoulders, hips and head as he escaped the choking smoke. Completely unaware of Kid Cthulhu's ranged mental abilities he thought he was in the clear. That he could make it away without the speedy guy finding him and that crazy bat-squid thing wouldn't be able to follow his movements with the smoke in the way. Then he clutched his head as blinding white-hot pain filled his skull. The thug crumpled to the floor in a twitching heap. Blitz's head spun around as the drugs burst into flame and immediately filled the area with that choking ash cloud. He had to do something. These kids were scum, but they were still just kids. They deserved to live just like anyone else and Blitz had the means to keep them living. He dashed around and grabbed two of the Southside C's at a time and dragged them away from the smoke cloud and piled them up on top of the fallen thug just outside the ring of light. Blitz was pretty sure he had gotten them all he was just turning back to check one last time when there was a sudden change in pressure as the air around him sucked inwards. Then the air pushed out. It was accompanied by a bright flash as the drugs from the other crates finally caught fire as well. 'Well... that settles that. There's no way I left anyone in there, right? I mean... I made sure to get them all right?' Blitz counted the piled up bodies and thought that he counted 8. This was one short of the number that he and Kid had come across on the airport yard. "I missed one..." Blitz took a deep, slightly shuddering, breath. "Damn."
16. *smacks forehead* Duh! Sorry 'bout that. I forgot that the "damage" cap applies to "stuff that involve dice rolls".
17. After looking at Blitz's character sheet I realized that his alternate powers could be updated due to his recent base power increase. If one of the Ref's could please update his alternate powers so that they reflected his new power cost, as follows I would be very appreciative. AP: Stun 7 (electrical) Static Discharge [1] AP: Dazzle 6 (auditory) (Extras: Burst Area Flaws: Touch Range Linked Damage 4 (Extras: Burst Area)) Sonic Boom [1] Thanks, Carbon
18. OK, this months points are gonna be spent as such: Feats Power Attack Powers Speed 7 (1000 mph) (linked power: quickness) [6] LP: Quickness 7 (250x normal) [6] That's it. I leave my character sheet in the capable hands of the Ref's. DONE BY SHAENTHEBRAIN Redone by Sandman XI
19. DOH! Thanks for that catch Quote. It's actually a holdover from how I write down my stats on my sheets in my tabletop games and it didn't get fixed as it made the transition onto the Freedom City sheet. I fix'd that little problem and the notation you mentioned from the stats section.
20. OK, trying this again; Here's Carlan Moran, Cicada-Man. This is just a working title until I can figure out a more permanent name to call him. Yes I know "Cicada-Man" works, but it's not really my style so I'm gonna see if there's something better to be had. He's a metal singer/bassist with an Irish heritage, which I feel is fitting. He's a noble kinda character wanting only that people be free to make their own choices in life and live "in the pursuit of happiness." This makes "tyranny" number one on his "I hate that" list, but anyone/thing that is in the business of oppression is not going to be viewed favorably by Carlan. But enough about stuff I talk about in the sheet. Again, I'm asking for suggestions on anything that I might do to improve this build. Thanks in advance, Carbon
21. Blitz watched as a streak of flaming golden construct fell from the sky and smashed into the concrete. The whole bridge shifted with the force of the impact. Blitz rocked back and forth, arms pinwheeling as he tried to keep his balance. He finally came to a rest, his balance regained. "Phew! Glad that's over wi-AHHHH!!!!" Blitz had to dodge the spinning blades of whirling death coming in from all sides. While he had been balancing the bug-bots had climbed up to the top of the support for the bridge and revealed their chainsaws. They were already swinging these deadly apparatus at Blitz by the time he realized they were there at all. Dodging wasn't enough to save Blitz this time, he was caught off-guard and the chainsaws that the bugs were swinging sliced into Blitz's shoulder and side. His head felt like it was filled with cotton. The world was moving in slow motion, and not the good slow motion like when he was running. This was like being in a nightmare where you knew something awful was coming down the dark hallway and you couldn't get into your apartment. 'No,' Blitz thought, 'I'm not going down here at the hands of some stupid-' "Piece of Junk!!!" Blitz raced underneath the looming bots in front of him and reached into the crevices between their "hull plating" and pulled out their all-important robo-parts. Blitz saw an opening to escape through and ran down the cables to reach the bridge surface once again. He dodged in between the swarming bug-bots and made his way up down the bridge. He saw another super seemingly doing battle with a guy who Blitz recognized from advertisements on that all-consuming tube of life and information, television; 'That's that dude from Twilight... but with a little skin color for a change. Hmm... I've always wanted to punch that guy in the face, and now's my chance!' Blitz sparked and put on a burst of extra speed and aimed a punch right at the bad guys face. The opportunity was too perfect but there were still bug-bots everywhere so Blitz took the opportunity to also dash around and rip up some more of those obnoxious spidertrons. However, he'd seen first hand what sticking around the bots could get you, so he also bid them all adieu and bolted further down the bridge.
22. OK, I'm gonna have Blitz spend his last HP to shake off his stunned condition. Then he'll rapid attack the bots around him to clear them out of the way. 1d20+9=13 As I remember the defense that hits them all. DC21 toughness to save. Since I'm gonna assume that at least 1 of them falls over/explodes, I'm gonna have Blitz beat a hasty retreat and wall-run down the cables and across the bridge towards Keres and Sparksmith. When he's close enough Blitz surges and move-by action rapid attacks again to hit everything in the area there as well. 1d20+9=12 *sigh* Any bots in the area are gonna get hit, but Keres (the one I wanted to get) is gonna get missed. :anger: curse you roll of 3!!! Blitz will end his turn a good distance down the bridge and will likely get fatigued on his next turn.
23. Acrobatics against DC20, 1d20+9=22. Blitz passes with room to spare on his acrobatics check.
24. Well... even before I make my rolls I'm gonna call this situation Extremely Bad for Blitz. Lets Roll: Toughness against DC23, 24, 21, 7 I'll spend an HP to re-roll that last 7 since I have no desire to see Blitz get diced to ribbons: *sunnuva-* Hero Point re-roll Toughness DC23, 3+4+10=17 (+10 since it was lower than 10) That's a Success, Fail by 2, and Fail by 6.
25. Well Doc, if you feel that strongly about it I'll scrap this character as well. Go ahead and just remove the topic whenever you get time and I'll start over.
