  1. Torque couldn't see who Vicky was blasting at but certainly assumed she had a good reason. He was about to shout a warning when the two 12' tall robots burst through the dirt between them. He wasn't fast enough to get out of the way; the energy beam clipping one shoulder painfully. Torque wasted no time in throwing another disk right at the huge robot. He blinked, almost surprised, when the robot completely ignored the attack and lined itself up for another shot. "Wisp! You ok?" he yelled, getting ready to dodge.
  2. The woman, clearly believing she was hidden, staggered back a step from the unexpected blast to her chest. While she winced a moment at the hit, she grinned at the teleporter. "Oh? Is that not enough? Very well then... Enjoy darling," she sneered before disappearing like a popped soap bubble. "Have fun till next time," her voice drifted back faintly. Around Vicky, the trees seemed to rear back as one, all of them coming down to slam on the young teleporter with a significant amount of force. Between Torque and Wisp, the ground shook and vibrated a moment before two massive robots exploded up from the ground. One faced Vicky but couldn't quite see her amidst the smashing trees. The one facing Torque opened up a panel on its chest and loosed a massive energy blast into the young hero.
  3. Sorry for the delay Az; life's been a bit rough last few days (rougher anyway) Her taking the hit: toughness (1d20+15=24) vs a 27...she's got a Bruise aid: aid: need hit DC 10 (1d20+8=23, 1d20+8=25, 1d20+8=24, 1d20+8=11) That's a +8 to hit to hit! (1d20+14=31) vs DC 23 That hits Wisp! Soak away! to hit Torque; DC 24 (1d20+10=26) which hits... Torque's toughness toughness (1d20+13=21) he gets a bruised! Torque's turn... to hit (w/ +2 from master plan) vs dc 27 (1d20+9=11) HP 'cause that was just sad to hit (w/ +2 from master plan) vs dc 27 (1d20+9=23) toughness (1d20+12=30) Nothing! Wisp is up as soon as I do some IC posting! (last round for master plan bonus btw)

    Under the Sea

I could volunteer Torque for this as well.
  5. Dark Star will be making stops all over the world; dealing with multiple problems, rushing between them. Torque will likely be fighting Grue Drones in Freedom City. *shrug*
  6. Gran: Apologies! Somehow I missed your response. Kinda brain friend atm, but I'll think of something tomorrow! Quote: of course!
  7. He gave a little hesitant node. "I guess so," he said slowly. He just didn't quite understand the need to win or impulsive to acquire wealth. It just seemed so weird. Of course, admittedly his own perspective was somewhat skewed. He hadn't acquired those competition and greedy traits one normally gets from just living. Heck, barring freedom, he'd had pretty much everything he needed just delivered and handed to him. "I'll take your word for it. Either way, that's not something you'll have to worry about from me. The whole 'fame and wealth' bit have no appeal for me," he said with a shrug. "I wouldn't know what to do with either anyway."
  8. Torque's turn attack (1d20+7=17) +3 from Master plan, so 20. baddies toughness toughness (1d20+10=23) and Torque's notice to see battered girl or anyone else notice (1d20+10=13) ...Is just sad (not rolling well here)
  9. Cole landed with a crouch as Wisp pummeled the heck out of whoever their attacker was. When she suddenly vanished in a midst of mobile vegetation, he scowled. Fighting multiple opponents with unknown powers was rather annoying. He looked around for the source of voice or anyone else who was hiding. As his sensor searched and scanned, the throwing ring solidified in his hand. He whipped the disk out, barely focusing his awareness on the target. The energy disk hummed as it flashed through the sky and sliced the head of the stone statue clean off. The disk dissipated even as the animated statue froze in its new position, headless.
  10. The girl, for she certainly seemed like she was more Wisps own age that that Vicky was up close, was too battered to anything. She was struggling to just remain conscious at this point; making a witty retort just wasn't going to happen. There was a sudden ripple and rustling sound from her feet as it exploded in vines to envelope the armored girl. The tree right next to Vicky sudden swung one of it massive branches down at the teleporter but it was far too slow and sluggish to connect. Behind them, the stone figure grabbed another bench to throw...with about as much success when it came aiming. Actually, the aim seemed to be getting worse. That same voice came back, filled with scorn and contempt...as well as interest. "Perhaps so...maybe we should step up our game." The young heroes, especially Vicky given her proximity, noted the voice didn't match the pained gasps of the girl Vicky had just pummeled.
  11. 2 different attacks on Wisp (1d10+8=10, 1d10+8=11) Ok...now that's just freaking sad... (and no, this is not a fiat. she's still messed up...just need to find her)
  12. Cole quirked an eyebrow as he listened to Sharl. "That's kind of weird...selfish in non-selfish way weird. I'm not sure that would matter to me, the being first thing. Everyone working together, science is being done, the goal is achieved. Does it really matter who gets to say 'I was first'? Seems sort of...juvenile maybe?Least I'm right there with you then; I don't get that one." He blinked at Sharl on that one. "Wait, what? I can use my knowledge and ability with science to make money and provide for myself but you can't? That...sorta prejudicial, isn't it? I'm not complaining about getting the job mind you but...yeah, its weird."
  13. He chuckled ruefully. "I didn't realize it was so competitive. And here I just thought it was science for science sake! Anyway, thanks for this," he said as he finished flipping through the packet. There wasn't really any chance he was going to turn it down. "I'm not going to wear a tie though. Just so we're clear," he grinned, extending a hand to Sharl. "As soon as I get settled in and stuff, I'm in." He gave a small smile. "Yeah, it is I guess. Just wish I could remember the details," he muttered.
  14. toughness vs 30...ow (1d20+15=20) ow...failed by 10. Staggered and Stunned...
  15. Cole continued trying to get the people to move faster but time was up. His sensor picked up on the multiple attacks on Vicky causing him to frown. The spikes were the problem; they needed to be found. He leaped up through the trees, letting his noticing/looking for stealthed... (1d20+10=17)]sensors quest outwards and tracking the spike thrower. There! Certainly hard to see but thanks to throwing and his own sensors, he locked onto her. A shadowy woman...in rather revealing stylish (and not very protective looking either) black armor. "Wisp, NOW!," he yelled, highlighting his target.
  16. Either Cole had not been seen yet...or they were really focusing their attention on Vicky. The Grey Stone Man/Statue apparently decided it had waited long enough. Reaching down a massive hand, it yanked a park bench out of the ground and whipped it right towards the white haired teleporter. Towards being the operative word given how far it missed her though it did come very close to the civilians she was trying to get to leave. The flying furniture certainly helped usher them along! While she had easily avoided that attack, the long black spike/spear that came flashing down through the trees was significantly harder to dodge...
  17. attack wisp; (1d20+8=14) BIG miss... attacking Wisp (1d20+13=31) That hit! need a DC 22 toughness for her then Cole is up
  18. Cole powered the suit down and turned as the door opened. When Sharl approached and handed him a packet, he quirked an eyebrow. "I'm sorry...but are you guys offering me a job?," he asked curiously. He didn't deny the prospect interested him a great deal; the idea of research and development for its own sake as well as sharing that knowledge was very appealing. Not to mention he certainly needed some kind of income. He flashed a quick grin a Sharl with a nod as he began to glance through the packet quickly; it was only going to take a few seconds. "Thanks. I should point out that individuals like use don't need a suit given their own intrinsic powrs," he grinned. "But thanks; yeah I like it too."
  19. Dark Star tilted his head a moment despite no one being able to see him as he responded. "Building a ship? Do we have time for that? I'm certain I could requisition a shuttle from Daedulus if really needed, though I could simply transport everyone there." He shrugged. Who knew what they had available to them. Still, time was pressing. "I am on the way. I'm currently in high orbit over the Pacific; should be there in a few seconds, " he said before re-orientating himself. He wasted no time, shooting down into the atmosphere and right to the lab in the blink of an eye. What took longer was locating what room they were all in by identifying their signatures. He zipped through the walls but paused outside the door to the lab. He gave it a few telekinetic knocks to be polite before floating on through. "Good day everyone. Murdock said something about me being needed and asked that I come in. How can I help?"
  20. The park was lightly wooded, not too large. It was nice, clean. And there were a few civilians moving about. Mostly parents and a few kids as well. But beyond those half-dozen people, there was no one else in the park. Except for the 8' tall grey skinned and costumed fellow standing in one of the 'clearings'. He had a rather large grin on his face and was standing immobile. Cole and Vicky would almost think he was a statue, except the base for that statue was a few feet behind him and those grey eyes were the only thing that moved, tracking Vicky as she got closer. Neither Cole nor Vicky could see anything else amiss as they moved through the park though the feeling of foreboding was definitely intense. Cole frowned in his suit at the sight of the civilians. They had to be his first priority. He dialed up the local police and gave them a quick tip before moving forward towards some of the people. He whispered quietly, telling them to leave the area...and most had the common sense after being startled to start leaving the area.
  21. no, not yet. notice (1d20+10=27) stealth (1d20+12=31)
  22. Tactics if needed for Master Plan tactics (1d20+15=25) notice (1d20+10=30)
  23. Cole jumped sideways several feet in surprise. Even as the figure retreated, he was running for the bike. He looked up and gave a tight smile to Vicky. "More than fast enough. You can change as we move." Even before she responded, he gunned the vehicle to life and the second she was on, it roared off in pursuit with such speed it was like standing on the wing of a jet. Cole activate his armor as they took off, reassured as the energy weave enveloped him and protected him. As he did so, beneath them, the bike began to change become more aggressive and futuristic looking. As he turned the corner to follow, the figure slipped into the trees of the park at the end of the street. "First off, let's be clear. This is a trap. Whoever this is targeted us, or at least you, specifically which leads me to all sorts of unpleasant conclusions that will need to be addressed later. But for now, pick your target. Don't go for the obvious and presented one. It's a trap, whoever this is was prepared. We need to disrupt it and destroy the opposition in a way they aren't anticipating," he said. Cole's voice had almost changed, gotten colder, more forceful. Direct. He skidded the bike to a stop and got off. "Autopark," he muttered and the bike drove it self off, changing forms yet again. "Stay within a hundred or so yards of the path. I'll take left, you take the right. Really need to get some comms for other people," he muttered to himself as he activated his own stealth systems. As he faded from sight, he quickly and quietly moved into the park.
  24. Dark Star pushed the massive space telescope a tiny bit. He took a minute or two to double check the angle and its readings. There were quite a few tasks that needed doing, even without the impending threat of the Gorgon. Playing contact and sharing what he knew was also keeping him busy, not to mention being a husband and father as well as helping with Sanctuary. This was just one. Satisfied that it was as perfect as he could make it, he turned to head back down to Earth. As he picked up on the signal, he slowed his descent to give it some attention. That particular channel was not used for casual chatting after all. "Dark Star here. What can I do for you?"
