  1. Well, he was for my vignette (that never was finished ) and I needed something that Moira couldn't affect. Absorption 14 (which in the beginning was an immunity to all damage ) was just enough so she couldn't harm him. The mental immunities are so she can't reason with him or take an easy way out and mind control him.
  2. Moira looked up to O'Ren and smiled as she shook her head. He had what it took to be a hero: confidence and courage. Here she was choking on the fear of the unknown and she wanted to be a full-fledged hero one day? She uncrossed her arms and reached for the camera, "Yeah, I can do that," she meekly stated. She cleared her throat and repeated herself, this time with more of a growling strength behind her voice, "Yeah, I can do that!" The camera was something to keep her busy. It would probably take her mind of the horror of the event if she could fire a flash and forget it.
  3. I am trying to make a nihilistically empowered NPC. "Numb" will have Absorption 14 and immunities to mental effects and interaction effects. MBCE points out that he may be a bit strong and that he needs a weakness. Noone wants to be put against the unstoppable force. Cyroa suggests a weakness to positive emotions since his MO is "the world sucks and I'm here to make you see that the world sucks". Power Loss is a bit too neutering for him. He watches someone give someone else a hug and his powers are gone? Maybe Weakness, but how strong and what way to do so? I would have gone with Vulnerability, but "positive emotion" attacks are few and far between Finally, maybe it works in reverse. He gets Boosted around negative emotions. Though that probably wouldn't work with the immunities and probably would be way expensive. Any suggestions?
  4. Moira lightly put her hand on the Captain's chest to balance herself as she downed the shot she poured. Taking her hand back, she balanced herself with her forearms on her thighs. Leaning towards the Captain, but not violating his personal space, she smiled, "The dresses can wait their turn then. But no, I'm talking about business. You're the type that can get the word out about Morley's faster than any commercial. As much as you get out? We'll be bigger than Shaugnessey's in no time." She reached for the bottle again, filling their glasses. "Are you willing to do so though," she questioned while raising her glass.
  5. Moira clapped exitedly for the Captain's show of awesomeness. When he sat down, she poured the drinks again and drank another shot. "You have no idea how great that was, do you," she asked rhetorically while giggling, "I'll do you one better." She stood up on the seat and whistled for everyone's attention, stopping everything as the Captain did, "On top of that, you guys can make that two rounds!" The crowd cheered again and then went back to partying. Sitting down on the table in front of the Captain, she poured them another round. She floated hid glass in front of him in a servile manner, "You know, this partnership could turn out pretty well."
  6. The reason I ask is that me and Cyroa are trying to set up an adventure. I suggested space adventure. Shaen noted that Dark Star could get to the end of the universe very quickly.
  7. What's there, canonically? A cosmic wall? Another universe? Aliens looking at us in a snowglobe?
  8. Moira remembered the first time she had the drink as she swallowed her second shot. It was like someone had poured liquid elation down her throat. She eventually got accustomed to the drink over time, but it still gave her a rush after a few shots. She couldn't help but meet the Captain's gaze. Something about his demeanor was almost too engrossing. That and he wasn't hard on the eyes at all. "Attention," Moira questioned with interest inflecting her voice, "Are you sure? I mean, we've been here for a long time." Taking her eyes away from him for a second or two, she refilled their glasses. Everything was starting to get a light amber hue after she downed her third helping. Not that she cared. I'll have to stop soon, her thoughts reminded her, maybe only a few more.
  9. Sandman is very sick. We had to go to the hospital type sick. They gave him some antibiotics and told him to rest. Right now they think it's just a virus that's been running around. So for the next few days, he won't be here.
  10. Well, now, you'll have to taste it to find out, won't you? :D
  11. Moira caught a glimpse of the Captain staring as they walked to the table. Not being one to disappoint, she unobviously slowed down so he could take everything in. A pair of hip-hugger jeans did their job of accentuating and a brown t-shirt with the logo of The Vigilantes folk rock cover band clung to her in all the right places, exposing a little bit of middriff. "Well, you are the first guest of your caliber to ever come to Morley's," she winked to the Captain as she slowly slid into the corner booth, "It would be a spit in the face of your awesomeness for you to not be treated." "The good stuff is a secret family recipe. Some people called it Ambrosia so the name stuck," As if on cue, a server put a shotglass a piece in front of them. A light amber liquid flowed from a bottle mimicking a small vase, filling the glasses. Moira thanked the girl and then lifted her glass to the Captain, "Here's to you," and then downed the liquid quickly.
  12. "Of course, Captain, you seem to attract people purrely by your force of awesomeness," Moira nodded as he grinned, "I'm sure you have a lot of tales to tell." She looked around to the crew again, they seemed a bit too busy with the overwhelming crowd. "Since your entourage seems to have put the pub into overdrive, allow me to personally invite you to have a drink on me," Moira gestures like an usher to a table in the corner. Looking over to the bartender, she smiled, "Frank, get the good stuff and keep it coming." Frank nodded then mumbled under his breath, "This'll be an interesting evening."
  13. Moira smiled and snickered at the Captain's natural bravado. Looking back to the crew, they are doing their job of serving the unusually large crowd. She then turns back to give the Captain a checkout, head to toe and back. Not bad, she thought. "Yes, I am Moira. Arent you the guy with the billboards all over town? You reputaion proceeds you, Captain."
  14. Moira looked around. It was just her, O'Ren, and the pieces of dead human remains left. She so very much wanted to do something, but apparently hitting something really hard wasn't the answer this time. At least not yet. Walking over to O'Ren, she sighed. Her arms where still crossed as she leaned only her forehead against his chest, her body completely detached from his. "I wonder how long we'll have to wait."
  15. Moira leaned on her pool stick, watching the entourage come in the door. There was no reason a weekday should be this busy. Looking to her friends, she shrugged and smiled, "Guess you guys have to get back to work." Then the announcement came. The arrival of one of Freedom City's most notorious had arrived. This was something she had to see personally. No, she wasn't going to act like one of those girls that fawned over him all the time, but the Captain's attitude was infectious. She left the pool table as is and walked into the crowd. They seemed to step out of her way when she passed by them. All the way until she was in front of the Captain himself. "Good evening, Captain Kneivel," she said with a smile while reaching her hand out in greeting, "I am Moira Morley, owner of this establishment. How may I help you?"
  16. Hm, has anything he's done recently made the news (besides the billboards ) Basically what has he himself done to continue his legacy of awesome?
  17. So, what does Well Informed tell her about the Captain?
  18. With O'Ren's help she picked herself up and mock dusted herself off. Sure there was nothing there, but she could never be too certain. Doing so made her unaware of her trainer's leering eyes. Nodding to let him know she was ready, ehe did a couple of practice hops like she sees the fighters do before matches some times. She always wanted to try that. She wondered it was supposed to get her ready for battle. Was it supposed to loosen her muscles or make her more alert or both or neither? Either way it was fun. She listened to everything he said and watched him closely When it was fimnally participation time, she smiled. "Alright," she said mimicking his stance, but not so well. Knees were bent and shoulders were down, but it looked forced and amateur.
  19. So, I'm gonna finally learn how to fight, Moira thought, No more bar brawling or self defense classes. I gotta get ready for the real thing. She pictured herself fighting Grab with some cinematic kung fu moves as she got dressed for sparring. She had prepared for this the day earlier and went to a sporting store. The people were more than glad to help her pick out what she needed. She settled on some black spandex leggings and a black spandex sports top that left her arms and torso free. She already had a pair of sneakers, not that the salesperson didn't try her darndest to try and get her to buy a pair. Moira wondered if it was for the sale or to keep her around longer. It was a very pleasant experience shopping though. She made plans to go back again. But that was yesterday. Today she was with O'Ren, the man she had known for a week or two. Over those couple of weeks, they had grown more than a working relationship. She knew him as a friend and lover, but today she would know him as trainer. Fully decked out in her training gear she walked out of the locker room just as O'Ren called for her. "Keep your pants on," she grinned at him as she walk towards the ring. When she entered the ring, she sat on the middle rope and let her arms rest on the top one before scooting in and promptly falling on her ass. She looked up to O'Ren, Well, I won't do that again." She reached her ungloved hand up to him.
  20. An alive person, Moira thought, Hey, isn't that the guy who does the show on TV? The one with the crap and pig slop? She found out here assumption was correct when Jack and O'Ren go to see the man. She quickly caught up with the three guys in time to catch the conversation about bringing Roman along. She nodded to each suggestion. Anything to make this quicker.
  21. Duplicates are not limited to the progression rules, are they? If they aren't is there a limit on how many times progression can be taken?
  22. You also forgot that everywhere you walked would be gold too. Bleh, it doesn't sound so fun if you go into real world logic :P
  23. I thought about 4, but is "everything" a broad group?
  24. Transform (everything to gold; Extra: Aura; Flaw: Range: Touch) But how many points per rank would that cost?
  25. Sammy was submitted before the rule change though. Meaning he could change his minon/sidekick, but I doubt it'd be work the hassle since it already looks like a hassle :P
