  1. Just to confirm: Blueshift is under her concealment currently. Not sure if it can see her or not, but if the others enter then it may still run away. *sigh* Now I'm going to have to reconfigure my gadgets. Thus making me lose the super senses. Standard Action: Reconfigure  Teleport 1 (Extras: Accurate; PF: Progression 3) Move Action: Teleport herself and others passed the wall. Not really sure what's going to happen AFTER that... but at least that'll be one less wall in our way...
  2. The metallic staples and coils created by his power remained, even as Ferros let his influence drop. He turned his eyes to the sky, seeing the metallic face of the Gorgon, created from the dust of the strange cosmic armor that had encased Willow earlier. He hovered to a place near the others. Hovering just above both Jill and Geckoman, he looked skyward and cleared his throat. "Hey! 'Sister', ya know? I've had about enough of your Armageddon bull crap." He waved his hand, and the metallic dust that formed her lips pulled shut. "So, can it, ya know?" Following her lips sealing up, Ferros began to compress the metallic particles smaller and smaller. Hoping to remove her image from the sky. Well now, can't have her scaring all the people... After a few seconds, the entirety of the Gorgon's face had been compressed down to a small metallic orb. Ferros brought it near the rest of the group. The others could see the particles in a sort of liquid metal, almost Mecurial state, struggling against his influence. But he managed to keep it in check. "Now this," He accepted the orb into an outstretched hand, "Should make an interesting study..."
  3. How about I let Quinn handle the "sure thing!" post? I just posted last...
  4. XKCD was the first place I went when I heard the news.
  5. Sorry! Could have sworn I put this up! Init (1d20+5=10) turds...
  6. just fyi, I'm picturing this, from Resident Evil 5
  7. If it is over the weekend, can you please do me a favor and PM me, because otherwise I'll likely miss it >_>
  8. If this were facebook, I'd "like" that post.
  9. Steve Jobs passed away last night after being officially retired for no less than two days. A moment of silence, the world of technology lost a great man.
  10. That may be a decent place to head to day 2. Or maybe a day skip to 3 entirely so he can read. I'm not sure what you have planned. For days 2, 3, and 4, Jin will again automatically pass his concentration check to go without sleep, so I won't roll. But I might as roll for up to day 5 just in case you want to skip a few days. Roll for day 5; DC 18: Day 5 Concentration DC 18 (1d20+15=24) I pass.
  11. Jin accepted the statuette back from his old Jià oshÄ« just before the man walked slowly away. Jin rolled it over in his hands once or twice looking down upon it as he sat quietly. He knew inside that his Jià oshÄ« was right. There was not going to be any easy way out of this. Sure, he had questions, but the only person that could properly answer them was himself. Guo's last words echoed through his thoughts. He dared not think what lay at the end of his road. Not yet. Jin stood, and placed the statuette back in his bag. Silently, he made his way toward the gate of the temple. He nodded a goodbye to the younger man at the door and made his way to his Motorcycle. Just as he was buckling on his helmet, another young student exited the temple. The one guarding it, pointed at Jin, and the second began making his way toward Jin. The engine of the motorcycle roared to life, and muttered contentedly as he sat upright when the student approached him, "YánjiÅ«shÄ“ng Jin," The boy greeted him over the sound of the motor, "The Jià oshÄ« wanted you to have this. He says it is a gift." The man offered him a small leather bound book. "Xièxiè," Jin said, and accepted the small volume. He read the front of it just before slipping it into his bag. It held a single word, "é“德經" It slid easily into his bag. Jin shut the visor on his helmet, and revved the engine of his motorcycle. Before long, he was moving quickly through the streets of Freedom City...
  12. If you're going to rubber science it away, that's fine. But if it is in fact made of metal, Ferros would know, and furthermore would have some control over it.
  13. Still got room? Covalent would like to attend, it's a good chance to study the strange human meatbags :P
  14. I actually wasn't trying to demand anything or tell you how to run the thread. I had originally suspected that those were the reasons you had. Kind of like "oh good the innocent people are gone! Now for the cut scene that triggers my second form!" But, yea, I totally agree with the judgment. I had just thought it was something worth pointing out. After all, you can't blame a guy for trying Ha! Serves him right! Bruised! Woohoo! The first of many! EDIT: One further question just to satisfy my curiosity, though I doubt it will get me anywhere. Cosmic willow is described as having a "Metallic Sheen" In that last post. With Ferros' super senses, he would actually be able to tell if it was metal or not, and if it was, it would give him an edge! Super-Senses 7 (Detect Metal 2 [Mental], Extras: Accurate, Acute, Extended [100ft Notice Increments], Ranged) [7PP] Does he pick anything up with that power?
  15. Jin was silent all the while his Jià oshÄ« sat and basked. Jin sighed when Chao's judgment flowed over him. "事實上,教師。" Ferros moved aside the flap on his bag and withdrew the statuette. "我在我的ç¡çœ 。我一直自豪我的平衡自己。我看到雙方的爭論。我接å—別人的觀點和æ„見,與盡å¯èƒ½å¤šçš„ä¿¡ä»°ï¼Œå› ç‚ºæˆ‘ç›¸ä¿¡æ‚¨çš„æ•™èª¨ã€‚æˆ‘ç¡è¦ºæ™‚,一切都是安éœï¼Œä¸è¨˜å¾—夢想å•å¿ƒç„¡æ„§ã€‚" Ferros leaned back, and composed his thoughts as his Jià oshÄ« studied the statuette, "但ç¾åœ¨é€™äº›å¤¢æƒ³æ˜¯æ‰æ›²çš„å’Œæš—çš„ã€‚ä»–å€‘ç”Ÿå‹•ï¼Œå¦‚å¤ªé™½å’Œè •è®Šç™½å¤©ä»–å€‘åˆ°æˆ‘çš„æƒ³æ³•ã€‚" Ferros looked back up at the man that had influenced the course his life had taken drastically. Hoping he held some answers, Ferros asked, "告訴我,è€å¸«ï¼Œä»€éº¼æ€Žéº¼è¾¦ï¼Ÿ" The translated Version: Phonetics:
  16. Noted. The subtle is actually a layover from the power as it's standard in his sheet. And as a power feat he can choose to use it, or not as he sees fit. Clearly at this moment he's not. An example of a subtle version of this power is "Ferros molds the metalic floor around the edges of his opponent's feet very slowly so as to avoid detection, effectively binding him in place." Which one is that, exactly? who is it attacking? As he received an HP from helping those people, he should have 2HP total. Hoo boy! Thanks for that. Any chance that's worth an HP to us? I mean, the heroes did what we were supposed to do in protecting and saving innocent people. But doing so only made this fight harder for us. Now we have more enemies and threats to deal with just because we performed our hero duties? That seems a lot like a set back to me...
  17. Blueshift Invisible Horizons Push / Blueshift / Ooze Ferros Gorgon Covalent GM/NPC Labeled "[GM]" for the epic post counting machine of epicness.
  18. Ferros' head snapped backward. Narrowly avoiding whiplash, he slowly leveled his head again. The steely eyes of his mask narrowed. A small rivulet of blood trickled out from under his mask and down his neck. "Huh. I think you just broke my nose. Way to go." Ferros all but ignored the two combatants in front of him. Instead of fighting, he raised his arms to the side, and turned up his palms. Every bit of unattended metal in the area from lamp posts, to street signs to the metal that used to reinforce the concrete of the now demolished buildings slowly began to melt. "Willow! Enough of this! You're hurting people, ya know? It's time to stop!" He clapped his hands together in front of him. The metal in the area leaped to life, propelled by his power. Many of the smaller pieces soared into the are to tie up the two simulacrums in front of him. Others attempted to tie up Geckoman and the combatants on the ground. A few of the larger pieces acted like giant staples, attempting to bind some of the giant tentacles to the pavement. One last snaky lamp post leaped to life, still fastened to the ground, the end of it coiled around Willow's legs, all the way up to her arms and midsection. Ferros wiped some of the blood from the area under his mask. The mask itself, conformed to the nose beneath it, instead of providing it's usually featureless facade. The nose of the mask moved suddenly and there was a 'crack' as the bones in his nose became properly set. Briefly the eyes winced. Then the entire mask returned to it's normal featureless appearance. "Yea... MMmm... That smarts, ya know? Please don't keep doing this. Please don't make us keep doing this. I won't ask again!" He extended one of his hands, and clenched it into a fist. The metal ensnaring their enemies cinched tight enough to threaten cutting off circulation. The one binding Geckoman did tighten, but not by very much. Ferros was clearly not trying to damage his teammate very much.
  19. Well, first off, any chance I can get an HP for spending last turn saving those precious lives? In advance, I'm writing the rest of the post at his current HP total, not his potential one. Sorry, I just saw this when I got into work today. I'll try to keep up better in the future. DC 30? Yeouch. Just barely breaks through his Impervious 10 too Toughness DC 30 (1d20+10=16) Yea, no. Let's re-roll that. (Brings him down to 2HP) HP Reroll: DC 30 Toughness (1d20+10=27) Fail by 3. I'm satisfied with that. At the start of, or just before, or whatever, I'll use an HP to clear that fatigue, yes. To be clear, there's two 'goons' on Ferros right now. They're entirely organic / wood, so he can't directly affect them with his powers, I'm assuming. Hmmm.... Ferros Free Action: Spend HP to clear Fatigue (Down to 1HP) Free Action(s): Maintain powers and stuff Free Action: Extra Effort: Gain an HP on his array: Full Round Action: Use Powers... I've been assuming that Ferros has been hovering at a pretty central location. If not, this won't work; In which case I would drop the regenerating extra and the full action and I would use a move action to get into optimal position etc. etc. In the interests of time, I'm going ahead with it. Assuming that's kosher, I'll then spend a full action tying down every simulacrum/willowette, Willow herself, any tentacles that are still above ground, and Geckoman (hey, it's better than taking a beating from Jack). Descriptors are him melting, transferring and then hardening any metal in the area. He's drawing from lamp posts, street signs, water manes (the already broken ones), any steel that used to be reinforcing buildings, etc. For the simulacrums, he's going to wrap them up spider-man style. Geckoman as well. For the tentacles, he's going to create giant staples and bolt them to the street. For Willow herself, he'll use one of said lamp posts, snake it up to where she's flying, and tie her up with a giant metal corkscrew. Is that cool? Any questions? I'm going to make the IC post now... I can always edit it.
  20. For once, Blueshift was at a loss, "Actually," She stared dumbly for only the slightest moment at the ship, "Hadn't thought that far ahead. To focused on other things. Had to catch it first. Then, well, lava." She shrugged. "Really though. Not an issue." She opened up a panel on one of the devices strapped to her left wrist. "Just hold tight a little longer. Hailing Supercape. He'll know what he wants done with it. Hooray! Non-issue!" She said, with mixed excitement and sarcasm. I really didn't think that far ahead. Come on, Blue, you're slipping!
  21. "Hop to it you two!" Blueshift radioed to her companions. She was busy adjusting the viewfinder on her visor. She quickly flashed through multiple different views and finally found what she was looking for. "There. Got a bead." She quickly drew a few small devices from her belt. She tossed them upward and three small electronics stuck to the walls with a sticky goop. The devices quickly spouted three lasers which triangulated and targeted the thing's position. It was a strange form of invisibility. Not reflecting light, but not bending it either. Instead it seemed to simply not be there. The light from the lasers disappeared in mid air, and reappeared exactly on the other side of whatever it was they were fighting. Although it didn't have exactly the desired effect, it still achieved the desired effect; Her friends could now see where it was if not what it was. Now they had a fighting chance. "That should do it. Invisibility nixed. Who's next?"
  22. That works just as well for my purposes, frankly. It's exactly the type of descriptive help I was looking for, really. :)
  23. Jin thanked him before he ran off. He spent the next few moments wandering the garden. The sights at the temple took him back. He'd helped plant many of the flowers that the monks were tending to. He didn't have much of a green thumb, but it had been enough. Things like daily chores and rote tasks always relaxed him. He missed the temple, but he knew that his life was moving in a bigger direction. He couldn't give up protecting people for a life of relaxation. He had a gift, and it was his responsibility to use it. As he wandered the garden, the metal statue in his satchel seemed to grow heavier...
  24. You kidding? I'm making this up as I go along as much as you are! LOL Though I love this method of storytelling where we both collaborate to construct the setting. I expect I should be okay with most of what you put. But if there is anything I'm really uncomfortable with having as part of his 'living backstory' if you will, I'll let you know. EDIT: Please note I edited my previous post because I'd forgotten to include the bit about the translation. Fortune cookie style! Wee!
