  1. I'm a noob here so I may have this wrong, but... You have your Strike DC save listed as 27, but since you are only PL10 wouldn't your max only be DC25 without trade offs to your attack value? I didn't notice any trade offs listed... I think I may have noticed this problem with a few other characters as well, so maybe that rule isn't used here.
  2. Hearing the sound of breaking glass, Manbat turns and dives towards the house. He flings the heavy piece of partical board ahead of him, shattering a window and making himself an entrance. A split second before reaching the window, he tucks his arms and wings close to his body. Once through he spreads them back out to either side as wide as he can, slowing himself, knocking over furniture, and making quite the commotion.
  3. Initiative for Thrash the Crackhouse (1d20+4=15)Initiative, not that impressive I'm afraid. It is obviously going to take me a few attempts to figure out his new dice roller and posting format.
  4. So generally how fast does this game move?
  5. Thanks for the heads up. I've PM Nightshyft's player in regards to that. I've even taken liberty to edit my background. If Nightshyft doesn't have a problem with Vigor's employment with his company, then I should be ready for final submission.
  6. A lot of you seem fairly experienced with MnM. So I'd like to know: What is the most unique/interesting power, power mod, power combo, or power use you've ever used/created? Though I've never had a chance to play him, I've had a character in mind named, Kindom. He has Animal Control and Growth (Affect Others, Affect amimals only). He personally was no real threat, but when one could control giant animals, you didn't really need to be very intimidating yourself. I also had a goofy anime teen girl, who had a large spiked club that had the Healing power (with many of the extras and feats). The idea was taken from an anime clip I once saw. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bokusatsu_ ... okuro-chan
  7. Hmm, I'm definately having trouble with getting the character I imagine out of my head and onto paper. Perhaps the suggestion of having an Alternate Form is what I need to look into. Thanks for all your help.
  8. I must have read the rules for Dynamic Powers a dozen times and it still doesn't make ANY sense to me. I do know that the power I'm wanting requires it however. Please see what you can do with this: The heroine is able to "ooze" an insect like carapace, complete with hard chiin armor, dragonfly wings, and bulbous optical enhancers. Dragonfly Symbiote Enhance Ability: Strength 20 Alt. Flight (Power Loss [-1] when wings are bound) Alt. Force Field Alt. Sensory Shield (all) Alt. Enhanced Senses: Bug Eyes (Ultravision, Infravision, Microscopic vision 1, Tracking (Infra) - Radius (all vision)
  9. I personally would vote to give him 1pp just for the well thought out and told background!
  10. Thanks you're the bomb! And for the sake of the others I must diffuse you now. 2 more questions: Apparantly you can only take away a device that is hard to lose if your opponent is helpless, but wouldn't corrosion effectively negate a device (at least until repaired)? How would I create a bio-armor? I want Dragonfly to be able to "ooze" out a hard chitin insect-like armor. Protection is permenant, so how would I mod that?
  11. Surfing the net, it looks as if there is a power called "Matter-eating" quite possibly from the Ultimate Powers book. I've been wanting to make a chacter called Dragonfly for awhile now, and that just so happens to be one of his abilities. I imagine the power is fairly similar to Corrosion. If anyone has the book with this power in it, could you please type it up for me and post it here. Much appreciated!
  12. Since no one seems interested I'll probably just make him a body gaurd for one of Freedom City's millionairs. I'll do some brain-storming. I'm leaning towards DeCosta (because several different plot hooks come to mind).
  13. ManBat took to the air as he did every night. Unable to support himself with a normal job, he was forced to live off of what little money the criminal’s in the area carried on them. Playing vigilante was more of a required occupation than a life choice. Problem was that most thieves stole because they didn’t have much to begin with themselves. So Manbat’s pickings were slim. This night he caught movement on the rooftops, which promised something more interesting than a carjacker or mugger. ManBat circled the skies, his winged form silhouetted against the dark clouds. While his eyesight was good, it was not supernatural. He could barely make out two dark figures dancing from shadow to shadow. His ears on the other hand alerted him to much more…there was a third figure. Intrigued, he listened in on their conversation. It seemed the three were intent on raiding a suspected crack house. They did not sound like cops or Swat. ~I do believe I found myself some of Freedom City’s elusive heroes,~ he thought with a toothy grin. ManBat weighed his options. His appearance led most to believe that he was a monster or at the very least a super villain; so he was reluctant simply to swoop down and introduce himself. The three strangers seemed about ready to jump into action, however. ManBat would have to make his decision on what to do, and quick! He would help if for no other reason than to get some drugs off the streets. His little brother got hooked on drugs, and ManBat couldn’t stand the idea of people profiting off that garbage. ~Besides dealer’s do intent to have a lot of money on ‘em…~ he thought. ~Perhaps I’ll let my actions do the talking…~ He made a wide circle of the area. Atop one roof he plucked a large piece of worn sheet rock from a discarded pile. It would be his “key†to accessing the skylight.
  14. I've been dropping little intro posts around the site. I think I have one more I can post in the IC thread though. When you're part beast, you kind of expect a little prejidice, even from heroes. So the conflict would be no big surprise to me.
  15. Thanks, but weren't you supposed to throw in the word "approved"? I even made sure to alphabatize everything for you ;)
  16. Easy enough: While out on patrol, he heard your whispered plans. Hoping to do his part in cleaning up the streets and wanting to meet some of the locals anyways, he decides to crash the party!
  17. Would you guys be willing to allow ManBat to join in on the fun? I am totally new to this board, and still a bit inexperienced with MnM2e. If not, don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings.
  18. He's too sure of himself to wear Kevlar. As for intercepting bullets...well that is about where he draws the line. Cocky little son-of-a-gun ain't he? While useful to have around, woe to the unfortunate boss that takes him on as a first mate! Is there a way for me to move this thread over to the right place or do I have to wait for a higher up to do so?
  19. TRAIN GRAVEYARD (Manbat's current sanctuary) Aaron Langstrom flew through the night sky. Giant bat wings easily held him aloft; and his dark fur camouflaged him almost perfectly with the inky black clouds above. Below him was a city of lights. He was fairly new to Freedom City and was looking for a place he could call home; or at the very least a place he could spend the daytime hours safely. Near midnight he had started his search in the Lonely Point area. The name of the place struck an ironic cord with the monstrous looking mutant. He flew along the banks of the South River heading further and further west as the night wore on, never content with the few hidey-holes he came across. Being a half man half beast creature was both a curse and a blessing. The curse was that he would never be fully accepted by society; not even one as open minded as Freedom City. He was unlikely to find a regular job, a regular apartment, and it was highly unlikely that he would find a girlfriend. ~I could swing by the asylum and hope to find an emo-chick who is in to bat-faced strangers…~ he thought a bit desperately. With a toothy grin and a shake of his head he flew on. The blessings of being half bat were obvious. First, there was the ability to fly. Aaron loved the freedom of soaring. He highly doubted that he would ever give up such a gift, even if it meant leading a normal human life. His enhanced senses and unique aerial vantage gave him a whole new perspective of the world. Passing over the Boardwalk held a certain beauty at night, especially from the air. Neon signs on nearly every building lit up the casino district with a sci-fi flare. ManBat could only imagine the goings on inside the buildings. Crowds of all types milled about the city streets, drinking, laughing, and sharing in one another’s camaraderie. Despite his height he was able to listen in on various conversations. He shook his head and flew on. He noticed the college to the south and hazy memories rose to his conscience thoughts. He remembered his college days. He was a freshman who just settled into his dorm and was starting to grow comfortable with his hectic class schedule before suddenly being abducted on ill-fated day. He pushed the memories out of his mind before they could continue and sped up his flight. He would go nowhere near the college this night or anytime soon. Over the South River State Penitentiary he started to turn slightly northwards. He spotted old railroad tracks and followed them. It was not long before he came to a train graveyard. Rusted cars of various styles and sizes rested scattered across a weed-covered field. The nearest buildings were nothing more than rusty tin warehouses, used for storing more outdated and forgotten hardware. He circled the area several times making sure that he would not be spotted anytime soon. Convinced that the area was void of sentient life, he dove. He headed directly for an empty red and blue cargo car; with its sliding doors wide open. It looked as if his giant wingspan would clip the sides as he plummeted at an insane speed towards the inside. At the last second he gave a loud leathery flap and kicked his clawed feet upwards to grab onto the upper part of the doorway. With a practice flip he righted himself and landed. He sniffed the air and his tall pointed ears swiveled side to side. “This will work for now,†he said convinced. He slid the door shut with a loud metallic clang.
  20. Players Name: Justin S. Power Level: 6 (94pp) Hero Points: 4 Characters Name: Danny Aukman Alternate Identity: Vigor Height: 6’0†Weight: 228lbs Hair: Blond Eyes: Blue Description: Danny was blessed with good looks and a fit form. He is well muscled and very athletic. He has spiky blond hair and a matching patch of hair on his chin. When working he will wear anything from a nicely fitted suit to a flashy red and gold costume. While he tries to remain professional, he has a very smart-ass mouth that often gets him into trouble. Boredom is a constant problem for a man who never sleeps, so he does his best to keep life interesting. History: Danny was born with his powers. He grew up in Australia; raised by two parents who quickly recognized his uniqueness, but lovingly accepted him. Luckily, his powers were subtle enough to hide. In the long run they even gave him quite the advantage growing up. He never tired and never got sick. He did well in school, charmed the ladies, and excelled at sports. His life was too good to be true. Then things got weird. His fiancé turned out to be a demon and his best friend, a shape shifter. Aliens attacked his hometown killing many including several members of his family. A magician transported him to Africa to find clues that would lead to the defeat of the invaders. It was as if the world had transformed him into a weirdness magnet. He tried to escape by hiding in the wilds of Africa but to no avail. Eventually, Danny simply accepted his destiny. He became a bodyguard to both Supers and Norms alike. If he couldn’t control events he would do his best to make sure innocent people didn’t get hurt by them. Upon first coming to Freedom City Danny took many various jobs. His longest lasting one was with Decosta Contruction. He made enough money to buy his own place and start to make himself at home. He also befriended Frank and his family. Never content to stay doing the same thing for long, Danny found himself employed elsewhere. He was hired on as a member of Knight Errant. As the fates would have it, he soon became a full time bodygaurd for Mr. Frank Decosta. And while it has been long rumored that Decosta has secret ties to the mafia, so far Vigor hasn't perceived anything that would lead to that conclusion. If such an accusation were proven true, Vigor would leave. Until then, he remains both happily and loyally employed. 21. Just got approved for my first character and I'm looking for an adventure thread to jump into. It would be cool if it had some sort of dark or horror theme. Perhaps a young wizards accidently summoned some mischevious gargoyles/gremlins that need to be captured. Perhaps vampire hunters come to town and mistake ManBat and some of the other night-themed heroes as vampires. Go ahead and reply to this thread if you are willing to GM something. That way we can also draw the attention of a few other PCs. Or if you just have a game already going that I'll be a match for let me know. :D

**An article entitled “A Monster Stole My Sandwich†in the rag known as Super-Vision** Citizens claim monsters are appearing in South Freedom. Some claim it is a vampire, others a werewolf. Is this some new super villain? Or are occult legends now making an appearance in our extraordinary world as well? Sam Macky, a high school student and his friends recount their run in with the creature: “Like…this thing was huge. Like…ten feet at least! Ok…so…like, my friends and I were just coming out of Super Heroes Sub shop right. I had just purchased this six-foot Spicy Italian special right. We were headed to my car when this dude stuck a gun in my face. I was like ‘Whoa Dude!’ He told us to hand over our wallets and my keys. So I’m thinkin’ ‘Not my keys, man! I just bought his car like two months ago you know?’ So I’m all freakin’. My padres are yellin’ for me to just fork’em over right? Cause they’re all like chicken and stuff. Anyways, before I can even get my hand out of my pocket this…thing comes running out of the ally on all fours. It was all furry and stuff right. It leapt right over us, spread these giant wings, and snatched the perp right up into the air. It disappeared right over the Kinko’s. It was like some pterodactyl or something man! I bet it ate the guy. Seriously! My friends and I are all buggin’ right and we run to the car. After we calmed down a bit I asked ‘Dudes, where’s the sandwich?’ Cindy, this girl friend of mine, not my girlfriend mind you, said she saw the werewolf pterodactyl thing take it along with the mugger dude. We were totally bummed, but at least I still have my car right?†Unfortunately, the teens later tested positive for marijuana usage, so their accounts are questionable to say the least. Other occurrences however support the theory of a strange creature roaming the night. Amy Lauder, a casino dealer, reported a sighting last Saturday as she attempted to make a withdrawal from a local ATM. She claimed that she had the feeling she was being watched, and was obviously nervous since she was alone. She remembers having fumbled for her pepper spray before attempting to use the machine. As she readily grasped for her money, there was a piercing scream that made her jump. Turning she saw a shadowy figure move up the side of a building and disappear onto the roof. Nothing else happened that night to her relief. In next issue we will have an interview with Dr. Angus Brennan, a well-respected crytozoologist. We will get his professional opinion in regards to possible monsters among us. Until then, keep your hamburgers close and your silver crosses closer.
  23. I get that question everytime I make a hero with this power! No, he is just a hero with a supernatural physiology. I know the power is usually possessed by robots or the undead, but that is not a requirement.
  24. Powers now alphabetical. Thanks! I LIVE!
  25. While I wait to have my first character approved (ManBat PL10), I've started thinking about a second. He is a PL6 hero who would make an excellent sidekick or bodygaurd to either a superhuman, or even a non-powered one. If any one has any ideas I'm willing to discuss them. I'm hoping to flesh out his background more before submitting him for approval. Vigor is basically a smart bodygaurd type. His powers are Immunity: Fortitude effects and Comprehend Languages.
