  1. Yes! Please have the New!Midnighters join in and watch Etain kick the living bejesus out of KC. Anyone magical can come watch! Maybe even make bets. No seriously, I'm down with anyone coming into the Parkhurst thread I have up.
  2. Blake almost smiled as Etain opened the door, but he saw the blind fury in her eyes and the sword in her hand, and he leapt back as its blade came towards him. "Woah holy crap-!" he had time to shout as he instinctively activated his strange mystic powers. Dual flames appeared on his hand- eldritch fire not burning his skin or clothing. "Etain! It's Blake Salazar, Warlock remember? So uh...I got some new powers, and don't try and kill me or anything, but they're kind of not from a totally kosher magic source. But it's totally me, Warlock, and also don't kill me." Taking a few more steps back off the porch in case she lunged at him again, Blake found his fists raised like a boxer preparing to block a punch. "Okay? I understand that I should have called ahead. Nice to see you too." he added with a slight grin. "Now can you put the sword down?
  3. This is the OOC for Something Eldritch This Way Comes. Ignore me!
  4. Monday, February 28th. Parkhurst Hotel. Blake Salazar was approaching the Parkhurst Hotel, a backpack full of mystic books over his shoulder. A gentle breeze stirs his hair, which has grown wild and tangled. He is trudging up the path to the Parkhurst Hotel, his shoes almost getting stuck in the mud. Still, Blake moves on, his heart beating a little faster than usual. Although they were happy to have him be a part of their family back then, he wasn't sure if they would take him back now. Not that it was his fault that he got his powers back, but to show up without prior notice may not have been the smartest choice. Although he did try to call, his cell phone lost reception a long while back. He was wearing a leather jacket, and a plain T-shirt of forest green. He grunted as the heavy backpack thumped against his shoulder blades. It was his intention to give the books to the residents of the Parkhurst as a gift. Inwardly cursing, Blake moved on. Why Blake didn't simply teleport there was a matter of manners. To teleport into the Parkhurst would surely set off an alarm of some sort, and that would hardly be a good way to see his friends again. A short bus ride and about fifteen minutes of walking wasn't a big inconvenience to the eldritch boy wonder. Finally, he rounded a corner and saw the hotel a few yards away. Breathing a sigh of relief, Blake walked a little faster, his sneakers crunching on the grass. He was back with his friends again! He broke into a light jog and was at the front door. Taking just a moment to hesitate, Blake knocked on the door.
  5. Now that sounds like a hell of a thread. I'm totally down for it, Roo. That sounds like a plan as well, KD. We'll need for them to have a man-date promptly. I will be updating KC and Zap's sheets shortly, and KC will be getting a base of his very own.
  6. Janis playfully nudged her date in the ribs. "Hah! Already on my secrets, eh? Well. If you must know, I have a passion bordering an obsession with classic cars. I built one myself from scratch. It's a yellow hot rod...see?" Her phone whipped out of her pocket in a moment and she showed him the background. Sure enough, a picture of a gleaming yellow hot rod was visible on the screen. She clicked her phone shut after he had a good look, and put it into the cleverly designed pocket of her skirt. "I hope I dressed up enough for the double date. You guys'll probably make me look like I showed up to crash the party." Her hands ruffled her hair, and she gave Subito an expression of mock frustration. "But anyway. I'm sure you can guess my superpowers, what from my name, and my teleporting deal and all. What are your powers?"
  7. Hello, friends, Romans and countrymen! I probably won't be on the chat too often, but would anyone be interested in doing a social and/or battle thread with Kid Cthulhu? :D
  8. She shook his hand solemly, then gave her date a big hug. "Very nice to meet you, Subito. As I'm sure you're aware, I'm Vicky's roommate and moral support, Janis." Her head swiftly turned around, looking for the others. "Where are they?" As she waited around for a moment, rocking back and forth in her flip-flops. Cool. I'm not nearly as nervous as I thought I'd be. Which is good. Or is it? Maybe I shouldn't be so open. Or anything like that. Where am I again? Oh right. Ahh! There's my date. She smiled for a moment, taking in the awkwardness of the silence. "So tell me about you."
  9. Janis cocked her head to one side. "Nah. You're good. I'll try my hardest to keep up." Her eyes wandered around the room as her attention went to something else. While she spaced out, she thought. Although she was eager to agree to the double date, she actually was incredibly nervous. On the outside, Janis was incredibly outgoing and hyperactive, she was still a bit apprehensive about meeting new people. Especially if those people were going on a date with her. She laughed nervously a bit, and took another sip of her water. "So tell me a bit more about Subito?"
  10. Janis blushed a little herself, turning her fair skin a distinct shade of red. "Mm, sorry about that. I was just joking around." "And you're right." she said, taking a sip of water. "I do miss my roomie." Janis paused for a moment as her friend described Subito. Hmm, a nerd, huh? But he works out, so he's...a hunk nerd? How can this be?! A sweet smile crossed Janis' face, and she pondered for a moment what this weird fusion of nerd and jock would look like. "Let's do it."
  11. Janis was wearing a purple sleeveless blouse, a modestly-cut skirt, and flip-flops. She didn't want to overdress, exactly, but she didn't want to look like a slob either. As is typical of Janis on any given day, she wore a big smile on her face, and makeup applied with an artist's touch. As she walked out of the school gates, she caught a look at her date. She slammed her back against the wall of the gates, hiding from him. He's cute! Within a moment, she reached into her pocket and pulled out a hand mirror, checking her make-up. Alright, alright. So. He's a foreign exchange student, or is he? Well, he's Puerto Rican. Damn. Relax, Janis. Take a deep breath. Her head peeked around the gate, taking another look. Okay. Let's meet the guy. What would Janis do? Janis snapped her fingers, and in a fraction of a second she had teleported next to Subito. "Hi!"
  12. Janis winked at her roommate when she mentioned them using her room. "Well, good thing my teachers have been so keen on giving homework the past few months. Not that that doesn't sound like a good time, but that does sort of change the whole roommate-privacy agreement. It's not a real agreement, mind you, but...yeah." she said, trailing off. "I'm glad I actually have time to go and hang with you, Vicky." she said, taking a sip of water. "I've been meaning to ask you..." she said, dramatically looking over her shoulder and behind her to see if anyone was listening. "Are there any cute guys at Claremont?"
  13. Janis gave her a big smile. "Well, with the amount of energy I regularly have pent up, I think working out with you would be a good idea. And buffalo wings on pizza? That sounds epic." She drummed her fingers on the table, having another look around. One thing rattled around in the back of her mind, even now. "So how are things with Crow? You and him still "going steady?" Janis asked, pushing her blonde hair out of her eyes. If they're still together, maybe we could all go out for a movie sometime. I needs to start talking to the gorgeous supermen of Claremont.
  14. Janis followed her friend to a booth in the back, a brilliant smile on her face. She felt good, and genuinely happy. Her summer dress flowed behind her- green with a pink floral design. Damn, I'm hungry too. I hope this place has some good grub. Not that Claremont doesn't...but it is good to get out of the dorm for once. She took a moment to look at the restaurant. "So what's good here? My powers have been burning a lot of calories, or so I'd like to believe." As if on cue, her stomach growled like a caged mountain lion. Her hands went to her stomach, and she almost gasped out loud. Oh. My. Gawd. I have a pauch! A pauch!! Janis smiled, pretending like nothing was wrong. She needed to hit the gym sometime. "So, uh, want to be sparring buddies sometime?
  15. Hey guys, I'm sure you're aware I haven't been on as much. I've had whole weeks where I haven't posted at all. I regret to inform you I need a break from the site. I don't have the time to make it here anymore. I will be coming back in a few months, so I'll see you guys then. Go ahead and archive my characters for now, if that's alright.
  16. Janis looked too, for a moment, then her attention snapped back to him. "Sorry, right. Warren. I keep getting in the habit of calling people by their hero names. I guess I get it from training at Claremont on a weekly basis. But that's cool, man." She wished she had his gifts- but she was glad with what she had. "If I wanted to, I bet they could get me a great job working at an electric company...as a power source." She giggled a little and flipped back her hair unconsciously. "I guess I could do mechanics. I always seem to revolve back to that, don't I?" Their waitress brought their food, hot and steaming, to them. Janis nearly died when she smelled the steak. "Oh my gosh. This looks great. It's great to occasionally have food that isn't bought from the cafeteria at Claremont, eh?" She took the steak knife off her plate and took a bite off of the juicy steak. "Lovely."
  17. Blake nodded, with a smile. "Yeah, man. Nothing beats filling out papers! Oh boy, so much fun." he said with a heaping portion of sarcasm. "But thanks, Corbin. I appreciate it, buddy. I'll do better this time around." He saluted to his best friend, and started to walk to the student's common area. From there, he would be able to procrastinate signing the papers for as long as he could, and talk to his old friends he hadn't seen in months. It was good to be back, and Blake had a cheery smile on his face. He turned to Corbin's girlfriend, and gave her a small salute as well. "Quo-Dis...s'up." Corbin was one of Blake's best friends, and he wouldn't say he didn't care for Quo-Dis, but the relationship between them had a dynamic that he figured he had better not ask about.
  18. I'll actually be using one of Geez3r's builds, the Classic Battlesuit. So! I'll award Mad Dog and the King of Suits a Hero Point for the Complication, and the villain will get a surprise round on us. 1d20+8=15. Mad Dog has +5 Defense Flat-Footed, so he makes the save. I'll wait for your OOC post to make an IC one.
  19. Janis smiled, and revved the engine as she brought the car to near light-speed. "Sounds like an excellent idea, Vicky!" They were there in minutes, the combination of Janis' breakneck speed and her incredible ability to handle a car moved them there faster than usual. She suddenly screeching to a stop in front of the restaurant, her tires squealing. With a grin to her best friend, she gracefully parked the car, with the precision and dexterity of an expert. Janis stepped out of the car, and had a look at the brick building. "Well, I'm starved. Let's not waste any more time!" She skipped ahead, her shoes clicking against the concrete. Janis looked back with a smile. It was good to hang out with her best friend, but what she said before resonated with her a bit. Why haven't I gone on any dates yet? I'm cute! The thought puzzled her for a moment, but she tried not to let it show anything was wrong. The two entered the restaurant, and by that time of day, it was practically empty.
  20. Okay...so I think I'll just use an Oddball. I'll return to the idea, or make a new arch-nemesis for Mad Dog and the King later.
  21. You do have a point. I have been going about the idea all wrong. You guys can go ahead and delete this thread- I'll use an Oddball for the villain. I'll return to this idea and make another character sheet at a later time.
  22. Sorry if I'm a bit late, but I'd love to throw Zap into the thread. She needs moar threads. :P
  23. Blake felt his heart thump in his chest, and he nearly rose from his seat proclaiming his joy. However, he realized he must look professional in front of the headmaster of Claremont, so he reserved his reaction to a smile. "Absolutely understood, sir. I'll hit those books like a heavyweight boxer. And sir?" He looked into Mr. Summers' eyes, and tried to give him a look that showed he was a responsible adult. "Thank you. You didn't have to let me back in, what with...my brief leave of absence. But I want you to know that I will do my very best to get my life back on track, sir."
