  1. Thanks, everyone! I think I will stay with my unlimited "shadow-teleport" (perhaps with a drawback) for now as it seems to fit better what I had in mind. (Though, given his appearance, a medium (mirrors) still looks tempting. )
  2. Thanks, everyone! I'll probably invest into a proper HQ now to fit the background which I've have juggled around a bit. (Besides, it gave me the idea to break into the Freedom Hall just to show that their security isn't worth anything - which should be fun. )
  3. "Medium (–1): You require a medium for your teleportation, such as electrical or telephone wires, root structures, waterways, doorways, shadows, flames, mirrors, and so forth. You can only teleport from and to locations where your medium exists." (UP, p. 91) As per the title, where do the limits of this flaw lie? Size of the medium doesn't seem to be an issue (-> telephone wires) nor directly touching the medium (unless you start digging for those wire). So does this mean that I could teleport anywhere (with the medium: shadows flaw) as long as something, no matter how small or big, throws a shadow in the vicinity? [Reason for asking: I wanted to have character who can step out of people's shadows, so I constructed it for now as an ordinary teleport since the medium:shadows way seems a bit too abusive.] Thanks!
  4. Since standard tools don't even cost equipment points (only Masterwork ones cost 1 EP), I think she could afford them just fine. "The Gamemaster can generally assume characters have the right tools for skills requiring themâ€â€at no cost in equipment pointsâ€â€unless circumstances dictate otherwise (such as they’ve been captured and stripped of their equipment by a foe)." (M&M 2E, p. 137)
  5. Okay. Please let know on what you decide.
  6. Great to hear, thanks! Just for completeness: If I were to add, say, a Computer Room as per the feature to the complex (or others from the list), then I would start paying 1 EP each for those, right? And as an afterthought: What about transportation? Gustav usually prefers to travel about by the means of an V-22 Osprey, but the use of such a vehicle (even with its VTOL capacity) is of course limited within Freedom City, so it probably won't ever be used in an adventure here. Pay for it nevertheless?
  7. I'm still a bit wrestling with the whole, I'm afraid. Let's take it to a specific example: Gustav acquired a city block in Wading Way to build a massive complex onto it, the headquarters of his Al Kundi Kombine. (Having the genes of Hitler and Speer doesn't let you think in "small" dimensions.) Also his living quarters. So far it's an ordinary building apart from its size and building style. As per HQ this would be: -Thoughness: 1 EP - Size: 5 EP - Features: Living Quarters 1 EP, Personnel 1 EP Would I have to pay for these 7 EP before I could use the building in my posts?
  8. "Nach Golde drängt, Am Golde hängt Doch alles." (Faust. Der Tragödie erster Teil. Johann Wolfgang von Goethe.) Nothing describes the wretched issue "money" better than this quote from Goethe's Faust. From the Game Rules thread: "Benefit 6+ (Wealth) = Filthy Rich [...] Just assume that your character has access to anything that a "normal" person of your level of wealth could buy through "normal" channels. Players will not be permitted to use their wealth to buy things that are of significance to the game system: equipment, weapons, etc. Use the Equipment feat for that." From the "Wealth feat" thread: "-Filthy Rich: Oprah, Gates, Buffet (Warren not Jimmy)." So what can Warren Buffet (or 40 of him in my character's case ) buy through "normal" channels? For example, where is the line between the appartment/house/skyscraper the lifestyle buys and a HQ (to be bought with Equipment points) ? Thanks!
  9. Yes, the mask always stays through and with every change. It rewrites Chazal's genetic code every time he activates it (thus he loses the genetic abilitites his normal human has) and changes the body around so that it looks like there another person behind the mask every time you meet him.
  10. No it doesn't. 8-) M&M 2E, p. 112: "The bonus granted by Autofire does not count against power level limits."
  11. Oops, forgot that tiny tidbit, did I? The mask is rather distinctive: It's a featureless oval made of a mirroring material and covers the whole face. (Closest thing to it I could find is the faceplate of Marvel's Shockwave.)
  12. My character has the Morph power granted by the mask he wears, but instead of assuming a totally new appearance when he uses the power he keeps the mask itself as constant through all possible changes - making it possible to appear as different man behind the mask every time, no more. Is this the Limited flaw, a drawback or something else? Thanks!
  13. Hey, no fair taking up all the GM spots! Leave some for the newcomers! ;)
  14. :? Good thing the character is already approved then. Nothing to be done in that case. I'll probably discard it completely. (But this should probably go in the Game Rules thread as it deviates from the RAW.) Looks like another thing to go. Okay. . . . What does the rest ... * ducks * I'm pretty stupid, or not? Good point on the linked powers part, I totally forgot that. If it's okay I'd prefer the "trade-off per attack" as I didn't really want (or need) the auto-hit part of perception but saw this as the only solution to reach an higher effect level. Pssst, I'm German, remember? (from our discussion on the merits of the german education system over on ENW) You are overlooking one aspect, probably the most important of all: Propaganda. A name like that would have never gone through Goebbels Ministry of Propaganda as the first thing that would go through the minds of any listeners with that name is "and useless by day". Or the Führer himself. (I recall a discussion he had with some Generals during the invasion of France 1940 whether "negros are better Nachtkämpfer (Night Fighters) per se". In fact, most of the names from "Golden Age" would have been scrapped right away without seeing the light of day or the "Deutsche Wochenschau". I console myself that they are probably allied codenames retroactively applied to the Übermenschen. :P

    Autofire

Or so. Tiny correction: Third level of Autofire increases maximum bonus to +10 or the attack’s normal bonus, whichever is less.

    Autofire

Not sure, I'm understanding correctly what exactly you are asking for. Do you mean the mechanical differences between the Autofire extra applied one, two or three times?

    New Referee

I, for one, welcome our new fake-german Overlords! Congratulations, Doc!
  18. Hi, Dr Archeville, and zanks for lookink at ze character! Oh, I'm not denying that might have a definite impact if this particular circumstance comes up, but how often does that actually happen? (In your own words: "If it's once in a blue moon, it's a Drawback, not a full Flaw.") So, if we get down to analyzing the extent of this flaw, it seems to basically come down to this: "Not being able to hold things when stunned." (I'm disregarding unconscious because I see no way to use standard (continuous) Enhanced Strength while unsconscious and I know of other state/condition that lets you take only reaction-type actions. Is this really the whole extent of the flaw or am I overlooking something? I'll have to admit that I'm having some trouble with this reasoning, especially as a sustained duration of Comprehend is explicitly addressed under the Flaws section of the Comprehend in UP, P. 34. Caught the reaction yourself, so there's nothing more for me to add. I solved the "problem" in the meantime by going the old-fashioned way: Enhanced Intelligence, AP: Enhanced Charisma. As I said above my reason for putting it that way was: "The whole thing is basically the Schattenwelt part of his mask reaching out to protect him (on its own terms) when he doesn't use [override] it to teleport." It seems I got a no (Barnum) and a yes (you) so far. What does the rest of the "GM council" think? Here's the reason from my post above: "It's not so much about avoiding the attack roll, but more about upping the PL. As an ordinary touch attack it'd be limited by his standard "down-traded" PL of 6 for the save effect - as an auto-hitting Perception attack it's only limited by the normal PL of 10. But since he doesn't throw the blades (not at suitable for that at all) or grows super-long arms I felt it best to limited it to standard melee range. (As indicated by the full-round and distracting flaws, it is not exactly intended as an in-combat attack - though it could be used that way - but as an "anti-material" attack since the blades can eventually cut through nearly every material.)" I can toss the Extended Range PF, of course, but kept previously so that all of his "melee attacks" have the same range since he always uses the same weapons - his blades. Yup, I know. Not as spooky as his name, though. "Nacht-Krieger" !?

    Avatars

Probably. 8-) I'm still on my first avatar but that will change once my PC gets accepted.
  20. And now in German: Zum Geburtstag viel Glück, Zum Geburtstag viel Glück, Zum Geburtstag alles Gute, Lieber EF, viel Glück!!! :D
  21. Nacht-Krieger is a villain from the Freedom City sourcebook and one of the few remaining Nazi supers - though he is less Nazi and decidedly more crazy these days. He is essentially a living shadow and draws his powers from the Schattenwelt (Shadow-world) dimension, the same source my PC Chazal (unwittingly) accesses for some of his powers. (It's also an extremely stupid name, but that is an entirely different matter. )
  22. Might I ask where the difference to Enhanced Strength is then? Not being able to use one's improved strength while Stunned or KO seems to fill the same niche to me.
  23. I'm wonderin if you'd accept a donations of a new pinball machine instead (or two or three)? Once I finally get my application PC Chazal approved I had planned on having him visit Claremont anyway (though not exactly to repair pinball machines ) plus he'd investigate Keira sooner or later due to her shadow powers (as he will want to establish if she's "related" to Nacht-Krieger), so perhaps they'll have met before when he does so, though both will probably be unaware of that.
