  1. Hey VM, do you want to adjust your action or fill Grim full of needles? I think we're waiting on you here EDIT: Whoops, my bad, I forgot that edits don't show up as updates to the thread. So who's actually up next?
  2. I can't use the dice roller while I'm at work, but I can ask a question. Would Grim be able to use her Insubstantial power at the same time as Blending? I'm fairly sure they're both Sustained duration, so I'm not sure how that works.
  3. Grim steps over to join him, peering up at the hatch right above them. "If it is, I'm gonna kick him in the shins when I see him." She looks around the room some more, still far from sure about anything in it. "We should be careful on the ladders, in case he realy wants us to use them. Actually, you know what? Forget the ladders." She marches over to the nearest wall, extends her claws, and starts defiantly scaling the wall, wedging the toes of her soft boots in-between the panels; when she gets to the ceiling, she continues back overhead, the muscles in her slender arms and legs taut with strain. Finally back at the hatch above, she gives Nighrival a nervous upside down smile. "Any last requests before I open it?"
  4. Lynn's initial response to Ren's shaking is to bury her face deep in her pillow, but after a few seconds some muttered words are mumbled and she lifts her head up. Her short hair sticks up in all sorts of random directions (it slowly reverted to its normal length once she fell asleep), and she's only squinting through one eye, but Bedhead Lynn is still pretty darn adorable. "Murshablen." (At least that's what it sounds like.) She continues to squint as she peers about the room, a surprisingly intense level of scrutiny, until she notices the position of her arms, and finally blinks both eyes awake as her face crumples with regret. "Oh god; tell me I didn't hold you prisoner all night long."
  5. Okay, after much delay, I think it's time for the traditional rolling of Initiative, people; of course, I will be shocked if Velocity isn't first :o

    College Visit

In the blink of an eye, Velocity locates her group, the ones who were headed for the dorms; they are whispering among themselves in a side hallway just off one of the main corridors of the dorm the tour had just left. If at all possible, they seem even more agitated than before as they start opening up their backpacks and fumbling around in their contents. One of the boys is still on his cellphone, nodding repeatedly. Blue Blaster is able to spot his group in a similar out-of-the-way corridor in Cole Hall, the science building, also digging around in their backpacks; he can now get a better look at the large boy, who is talking on his cellphone; his brow is heavy and somewhat receded, and his hands and jaw are massive, which makes his cellphone look ridiculously small by comparison. As Kevin leads the rest of his tour group into Baker, he spots one of the trios of young men he saw earlier on the lawn clustered in a short hallway just inside the entrance; as in the cases above, they appear to be nervously digging in their backpacks while one of their number talks on a cellphone. The boy on the phone locks eyes with Kevin and smiles; he's pale and somewhat scrawny, but as he peers over the top of his shades, one can see an unsettling determination in his bloodshot eyes.
  7. Whisper nods her head in agreement. "This plan is acceptable to me; I can enter an area unseen, observe the use of the combination by a human subject, and then move to your position and relay the information to you. There should be no need to end a human life."
  8. Estelle's eyebrows go up at the Viking's suggestion. "Carry me? Well, I...suppose we could go with that option..." The thought is at first mildly offensive to her, a hulking man toting a modern independent young woman around, but then it occurs to her that perhaps it wouldn't be so bad; sometimes it's nice to waited on hand and foot, and the scientist in her is intrigued to get a sense of his level of strength. At last she nods firmly. "Alright, we'll do it your way." To keep her wild mane from blinding the poor man, she twists most of it into a thick braid that will hang down Ullgir's back, but leaves a slender tendril free to point the way, as she's fairly sure she will be holding on to the Viking for dear life. I'm ready when you are."
  9. BTW, I hope no one has a problem with Gossamer's little chair-making stunt; next month, I think I'm going to add Create Object to her Prehensile Hair, but I figured this to be a bit of a non-combat Power Stunt that would be forgivable under the circumstances. And besides, if she gets a little winded, she's already sitting down, right? ;)
  10. Sorry to let this drag so bad, guys; I'm gonna bite the bullet and post here tonight or first thing tomorrow, and hope I find my confidence as I go along :D
  11. Look for posting here late tonight/tomorrow, the two jobs thing is killing me!
  12. Grim stands with her hands on her hips, squinting up at the numbers. Wait, are you sure? Math was never my strongest subject, but it doesn't quite add up. We've got 1, another 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 13 and 21. One plus one is two, two plus three is five, but after that it doesn't fit. Five plus seven is twelve, seven plus thirteen is twenty even, and only then does thirteen plus twenty-one get you thirty-four." She rubs her chin thoughtfully. "The actual progression would have to be 1, 1, 2, 3, 5, then 8, 13, 21, but we've got a 7 instead of an 8; that's gotta mean somethin', right?"
  13. Dude, I went on Google and did a search with both terms, and unless it's the distance between da Vinci Airport and the tower of Pisa...unlikely, nothing is screaming out at me numerically, so maybe I will just research them individually and look for a connection there.
  14. Oh crap! Well, this is one of the dangers of being a nigh-invisible superheroine; Grim had no way of knowing what sort of attack Nano was going to use, and focused as he was on consuming the car he may well have lost track of her. I forget if Nano has a way to see her or not when she's invisible, but otherwise I'll take the hit and pray for a good Reflex save, because she would go for the nearest drones Oh, this can't be good; do I have a fresh hero point for this thread, and have I spent it yet? I forgot to add the +2 for cover, so technically it's a 14, I guess.
  15. Gossamer turns to the miniature hero in surprise; she has so much to learn about superhero culture, so many names and faces to remember. At first she doesn't know what to make of him; is he always like that? Is he happy or bitter? Does it drive him crazy when women tell him he's cute (because she's sure they do), or does he bask in it? Finally she decides to stop analyzing things so much and just talk to him; she walks over and offers her index finger to be shaken, hoping not to insult the man. "Hi Rusty. I'm sorry to say that I don't you by reputation, but I'm still very new to being heroic, as it were, so please don't take offense." Estelle sighs and moves to take a 'seat' nearby, crossing her long legs and using some of her hair to prop herself up like a crude chair. She turns back to Rusty and smiles sympathetically. "So I'm going to ask you one of the three questions you're asked every time someone meets you; are you always small, or do you have control over it?"
  16. Hey, I'm trying to realistically play a girl with a 9th grade education here! I was also hoping to motivate a brainflash of some kind in NR, the way sidekicks do.
  17. Yipe! Well either we wrap this one up, which I think might be for the best, or we cut to the next morning; up to you, bro.
  18. I'm more than happy to wait for your return :)
  19. Whisper looks vaguely at the drinks offered, her silver pupils tracking each like a lifeless camera lens; finally she looks at Letta with her dead eyes and answers in her standard monotone. "I will have water." The new arrival stares at the drawing for a few moments, then swivels her gaze between the room's other occupents. "I have moved through the space and was not seen; where is the money you wish to steal?"
  20. Senor, I am just trying to help! :D
  21. It's all good. Us North Americans might see you in the chat more, which will be nice :)
  22. By the way, here's my first attempt as Gos' costume - just imagine a lot more hair floating about her like she's underwater.
  23. I am tempted to let you just because you're avatar is so freakin' cool! I personally don't mind, but let's see what everyone else thinks.
  24. Mmm, I still think it needs fixing , Dr A, unless you're trying to lead CW and Velo inside. (Italics added for emphasis.)
  25. After warmly introducing herself ("But you can call me Grim; everyone does."), Grim becomes uncharacteristically quiet as her boss rattles out the details of the plan, the whole time thinking about the new ability she's developed...and hasn't told him about yet. She hasn't told anyone about the goo, partly because it's so weird, and partly out of guilt; she didn't discover she could pass through tight spaces until after her and Nightrival's terrible ordeal at the hands of Warden. If only it had manifested sooner, she could have saved them so much suffering... There's no time for moping right now. You've got your orders, now go follow them like the good soldier you are. Maybe you'll get your chance to show him tonight, right? The slightly-built heroine fades into nothingness once more and quietly makes her way around the back, searching for any available opening no matter how small, but still keeping her eyes open for doors on general principal.
