    The job OOC

Feel free to narrate us taking off, I dunno where we're going.

    The job

/Definitely/ too squeamish. This will likely be a problem later. For now... "Very well. You of course realize that obtaining and going to his home address is the obvious first move for some of our competitors. We will need to move with dispatch. Should our target not be there, I will need approximately ten to fifteen minutes in his house, without raising any alarm. This will be notably more difficult if there are... disputes... at the site in question. Shall we go?" ... a man too squeamish to finish off inconvenient competition is also one very unlikely to drop me from a height. Satori steps up to Heavy, holding out his hand, visibly inviting Heavy to pick him up and fly to his 'place not too far from here'.

    The job

"Address. If he is home, well and good. If not, I have an idea. So, since we will be working together at least for the immediate future, I am called Satori. And you are...?" Wrecking Ball, still unconscious, moans very faintly. Satori looks down at him and back up at Heavy, puzzled. Somebody who seems a bit squeamish.

You've got radar, that would reasonably pick Satori up even in a successful Stealth roll unless he knew about it (which he /does/ now, or at least, has enough info to reasonably guess) and would thus know that shadows aren't enough, he's got to stay behind hard cover and/or lots of ground clutter. Or at least, its good enough for rp purposes right now, rules-legal or not. So, ball's in your court. :)

    The job

It would appear that our power-armored acquaintance has some form of motion-tracking, given how easily I was picked up. So. Fight, flee, or compromise? ... compromise, for now. The other two decisions are irreversible once made. The third is not. Satori, without apparent hesitation, smoothly replies to Heavy's offer. "Yes, I did hear what you need to know. Mmmm... for now, you are welcome to travel with me while I am about fulfilling the contract. Should I require your aid at any step in the process, I will welcome it, and compensate you accordingly." Satori paused, and continued thoughtfully. "Actually, your first opportunity to provide aid will not require any waiting on your part. Do you happen to know exactly where the target lives? Our patron's two... representatives... only gave us an approximate location."

Well, I just took advantage of the room being empty save for the two MCs to just sign my name (and show off my stealth a little), now that Satori's objection re: revealing myself is made moot by the clearing of the room. Now I'm leaving by the roof exit, so we can run into each other if you wish. :)

    The job

The idea is still offensive in its banality, but... with the room clear, I still reveal myself to none of my competition. And they seem adamantly determined to set things up so that no one who does not sign their silly paper can be paid. Ah well. A name is nothing. Give it away a thousand times and it remains a name. Meanwhile, as the din of onset sounded outside, Satori stepped out of the shadows directly behind the big man and the twitchy little man, inside the storefront. Wordlessly, he reached out over the big man's shoulder, ignoring the two mens' start of surprise as Satori calmly picked up the sign-up sheet, wrote his supervillain /nom de guerre/ on the bottom of the list, and placed it back on the table. Ignoring their reactions, Satori calmly walked back up the stairs towards the roof exit as the sounds of the brawl began to end...

    The job

Ah. The armored man seems reasonably intelligent and also able to reject triviality when it demands to dictate one's path. That is good. And he will have a slight delay in obtaining the necessary information, while I am in position to hear it firsthand. This is also good. However, the contractor's representative seems to hint at a kill, not a theft. While this is more in line with my skills, it is much less possible to 'sell elsewhere', as it were. Then again, a reputation can also be made from simply being able to eliminate the target before this many competitiors could, without it being even known that I was in the running at all. Perhaps a reputation could also be made about some things that can be done about clients who refuse to pay up for foolish reasons. Or not. Satori remained relaxed and confident, waiting to see what his future will bring...
