  1. Yes, doing it the swordsman way certainly works, but is a pretty standard board. It seems like here you can get away with a lot more. The sword would have a version of troubleseeker, so it will be able to get into trouble all by itself. I do agree that buying a minion wielder is a bad idea.
  2. I am thinking of my PL6 character right now, and as usual, I am thinking of something unusual. Right now, I am thinking of having my 'character' be an intelligent weapon of some sort that can boost its possessor's abilities so it can be wielded effectively. I know I can use affects others on my powers to do most of what I want to do, but how about the basic attack and defense (BAB and BDB)? I was wondering it it were possible, with something like Empowerment(UP) or Boost would work? Or just plain buying it with the effects others ability?
  3. Contour smiles, though he is pretty nervous right now, "Well, I doubt that was your building you were busy burning there....... Bellow is not too happy right now and decides to take this confrontation to the next level. He fires a blast of non-lethal fire at Contour that flows at Contour (1d20+8-2=26) and hits him very hard indeed [CRITICAL] and Contour resists (1d20+10=14) badly [unconscious] and Controur falls to the ground, waking up hours later, with the building in utter ruin, the firemen already come and gone and Bellow nowhere in sight. OUCH!!!!!!!
  4. The IC and OOC versions of this thread can be archived any time.
  5. Contour looks up at some of the larger-than-life sculptures and sees how they were made, and the level of the artist who made it. With most he is not too impressed, as artists copy other artists, or just make pedestrian items probably destined to adorn an obscure corner of some park somewhere. He wonders if this city has any great artists or people who are interested in art, especially those with powers, but he just does not know. Might be something to find out...... And he leaves the gallery after a bit longer and heads back home ..... [southpoint]
  6. Heromachine is good. I've used it many time myself.
  7. Contour nods, "That sounds fine. but pretty sure he will see the odd guy again, but not sure what side of the law. He has a feeling this guy Sammy is on whatever side suits him at the moment. He then heads back to the museum to appreciate the real art, sculptures. And to try not to mess or 'improve' any of them. It is a big temptation, but Contour has never really done that.
  8. Contour says, "It is the only name I use npow. I am not who I was before."
  9. Contour, for his part, is not a whole lot interested in Sammy's odd pronouncements. [No roll as he cannot beat a 22] and just lets it slide past. Contour says, "I don't have any of my work in Freedom right now. At least not my public work. I should have some made in a few weeks nad in a gallery a bit after that."
  10. Contour shrugs, "I suppose it is ok, but sculpture is what I do. Do you do any art yourself?"
  11. Nowhere really to go with this. This was intended to be a into post before perhaps moving into another thread with active players. Conversation is good, unless you have some kind of idea..........
  12. Contour is finding it hard to follow this guy's words, *What in the world did 'the one that brought that danger made come looking for you' mean anyway? Was this guy foreign? Contour says aloud, " Nice to meet you. as he shakes hands quickly nad perhaps lets go a bit quickly.
  13. Contour looks at him and obviously bluffs (1d20+0=2) is not interested in answering the question. Probably not for any special reason, but just ignores the question. OOC: Go ahead and place this wherever it will fit.
  14. Bellow sees the possible hero approach and stops blasting the warehouse, instead rising so both he and Contour and Bellow are a good hundred feet above the burning building, and about fifty feet apart. "Bellow? What are you doing?" says Contour, causing Bellow to look at him more carefully, trying unsuccessfully to figure out who this golden hued super is, and where he learned Bellow's name.... and what else. Bellow tries to regain the advantage by a quick dazzle and repositioning. He shoots out a flare of fire, incredibly bright [Dazzle Rank 12 Reflex save DC22 ] but Contour averts his eyes and Dazzle save (1d20+8=27) follows Bellow as he flies incredibly quickly a hundred yards to stop in the top of some trees. Contour smiles grimly as he realizes the game is on. He reaches out, his powers stripping magnetic force form the earth itself and causing ribbons of force to surround and attempt to bind Bellow in place. [snare Rank 10 Reflex DC 20] Bellow sees it coming and tries to get away, but Snare Save (1d20+8=19) it is not quite enough. Not totally caught and not totally free, Bellow demands, "Why are you in my way? That is not a good place to be." To be continued
  15. Nah, that is fine. I'll intro him or someone else later.
  16. Contour says, "You sure do know a lot about art" Contour says, Seeming impressed, "But you are into pointing mostly, it seems. I am more into sculpture myself, as he talks about his art knowledge (1d20+8=14). Contour says, answering his last question, " Not sure why you are so fixated on where I am from, as he looks carefully at him [sense motive] (1d20+1=19) but he does not answer directly. And he seems to be a bit suspicious.
  17. I think that is a pretty broad application of Sense Motive, getting pretty close to mind reading. If Contour were trying to bluff him, then Sense motive would be a fine defense, but if Contour is not answering, I'm not sure he would know why. But I guess I can play it that way.
  18. That was my problem. Was it attacked, or where he lived, or something else. It was not clear.
  19. I really was not sure what he was sensing.
  20. This is a bit of introing Contour by having him fight a vanilla Energy Controller from the basic book. I'll just run it myself, if that is fine. If anyone is interested in the thread, please post here.
  21. After his meeting with Sammy and his tour of the Gallery, Contour heads back to his home on an indirect course, first going due south and then approaching Lonely Point from the south-west. As he does so, he Notices (1d20+5=11) a burst of flame descend from the sky and hit a largish building well off the main roads. Veering over to see what is going on, Contour puts up some of his defenses [Forcefield 10 (impervious 6)] which drops his speed considerably, and covers him in a shimmering golden fields of force. Bellow Notices (1d20+7=14) him come flying in and rises up above the now burning storage building and mobile home and looks at the approaching super, not sure if he is a threat or not, or even who it is. [no Know-Current events] Contour also tries to remember this super and Know-Current events (1d20+4=16) does not remember much, just that he is called Bellow. To be continued
  22. Contour shrugs, "Be ready for waht might happen, not what you think might happen. A lot safer taht way. But if you want to risk it, be my guest." Controur heads for the museum, pulling out a wallet out of his back pocket and paying admission to the museum for both him and Sammy. He pays in cash. Then he looks at Sammy and says, "What kind of art do you favor? Or are you interested in art at all? I can give you a tour if you like.
  23. I guess this char is not going to get approved, so let's just shelve this concept and I will concentrate on Contour.
  24. In the face of Sammy's silence Contour says, "Well, I understand it being a bit off putting. I'm new to the scene myself."
