    Circus Freaks

Gael the Amazing Body-Man started his day like any-other. He took a brief bath, admired his horrible visage in the mirror, put on his loin-cloth and made his way to his tent. That gave him just enough time to get comfortable, and set the stage for his performance of "weird and miraculous marvels". The first couple of shows went fairly well, the audience hooting and hollering at his extra arm, etc... He varied his extra limbs from time to time, just to alter the tedium of performing the same show for the same slack-jawed adults. But he got paid. Which put food in his belly. He was never going to leave. Since he had run away from his parents, he had only had two homes. One was in the sewers, scrounging along side rats and other carrion. And then this one. He was barely over a decade old, but it seemed to him that he had a pretty sweet deal here. And the other freaks treated him with respect. Unlike everyone else. Unlike his bastard parents.

  3. not waiting for Lila to show herself, and quite frankly, a little irritated...R.J. went on. "Dr. Maclean, I was actually the one who posited we came from another dimension, although we all came to the conclusion mutually. My name is R.J., and you seem a very busy man, so I'll be concise: We are not from this dimension, if you wish to use so crude a misnomer. We're actually from a far different iteration or branch of the multiverse. I'm making a wild set of assumptions, but I personally subscribe to the Ellis, Koechner and Stoeger sense. Along that route, I'm going with the Level 3 structure, the Everett Many-worlds interpretation. I'm ignoring a lot of newer science, like Guth's chaotic inflation, but still. We come from the same time in our dimension, but from largely different global-co-ordinates. I don't remember any sort of visible aperture or singularity, but that doesn't mean there wasn't one. Come to think of it, we could all be from different iterations. There would be no way to tell....unless....of course this is comic book land....I don't suppose you have any sort of super-sciency device that can look at the quantum frequency of our sub-atomic strings? That would simplify things greatly, and allow you to prove the veracity of our claim."

  18. "Art is subjective...except when every other person on the planet tells you that your slock is terrible. That seems about as close to an objective assessment of your talent as you are likely to get. And now you have to call in reinforcements...Going to the equivalent of the Musical Duet with someone more talented than you just to boost your own tired musical stick. Perhaps you should call Timberland, Or maybe Pharrell, you hack. You're going to re-educate me? Isn't the old saying, Those who can't, teach. I'm adding a bit. Those who can't teach, call in reinforcements. "
