  1. Archived Sen and Ronin at Warmonger's request.
  2. I'm just checking around to see of there would be any interest in a game like this. The Long Road Home The Long Road Home is a short adventure for 3 or 4 players, set in a grim-n-gritty world not unlike the WHFRP setting. The players will take on the roles of long-term companions and professional mercenaries/crusaders who have been sent by the Emperor to the distant and back-water city of Far Deep to help subdue an uprising of savage marauders. Most of the adventure revolves around the band’s unfortunate journey back to Far Deep after a long stint in the field. The game will use the M&M2e rules, and the characters will be PL 5 (75 PPs). I will post more about character creation if there is some interest, but potential players should be thinking about creating characters for a dark/grim, low-magic fantasy setting. Non-human races will be allowed (created by buying the appropriate powers and other traits) as will magic items and magical powers, but effects (racial, magical, or otherwise) should be kept low-key, subtle, gritty, and limited . . . but very menacing. Most of the people of Far Deep have never seen a non-human. Though they believe in magic the people of the Empire approach it with an equal mixture of fear and hatred, and rightly so. Magic is as dangerous as it is rare and potent. Character concepts and builds should reflect this. In addition to magical powers and weapons, M&M powers can also be bought to reflect special abilities or character shtick, but these should be limited in nature. Examples: “This is my lucky arrow. It never misses.†- Blast 5 [Extra] â€ÂAAAARRRRRRGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHH!†- Strike 5 [Extras] Get the idea? Questions? Anyone interested? Send me a PM, IM, or email and I'll get you more details. :D
  3. I typically use 3 weeks since the last IC post (or approval date if they've never posted IC) as the cut-off, and many of the 21 characters Heridfel and I archived in the last week or two had been AWOL for a lot longer. If the player in question, however, hasn't logged into the site for a few weeks, I may archive earlier. So far we've never had anyone jump right back and say, "Hey! You archived me!" so I think the system works pretty well. We have had a few come back weeks and months later though . . . and we de-archived them ASAP. That said, I do hope *all* our missing players PM me tonight saying, "Hey! You archived me! Fix it!" :D
  4. Just archived: Synapse Wildcard Watcher Maelstrom Bloodseeker Mongrel Angel The Exile Ironhide . . . due to inactivity. That's a total of 21 characters archived this month. :(
  5. If the players return, they can be restored very quickly. All they have to do is ask. For those who are interested, here's the list of folks on the "chopping block" in a week or so: Format = Name (number of characters) - Last IC post date (Notes). ____________________ Warmonger (2 characters) - July 1 Zero21 - June 10 (but he has made an update post a week ago) Nyrath (2 characters) - June 24 thelazyblank - June 25 Avalon - June 28 Uninverted (2 characters) - Jan 29 (yes January, but two weeks ago he posted trying to join a thread) Ryoga - Never (he was approved June 8, but two weeks ago made an "interest" post in joining a thread) Seren - July 2 VideoGeek - June 29 Cotoloti - July 2 Wildcard - never (he was approved June 19, but looks like he is working on a new character instead) Sigrail - never (He was approved July 1, and made his last off-panel post June 25)
  6. There are about 14 other characters who haven't posted in weeks, but haven't quite made "archive" threshold. I'll probably get them next weekend (if they don't post).
  7. I had some free time (waiting for pizza to bake), so I archived Nightshyft, Neo Knight, The Void, and Cory Devlin due to inactivity. You can scratch them from the list.
  8. Magic items are in the PHB, beginning on page 223.
  9. I have been getting a few SQL errors from the chat, and I have experienced it doing the occasional strange thing (here and on the test site). Most notably, it has been coughing up errors, such as . . . Aside from the occasional hiccup (and a glitch or two in the logs), the errors haven't affected chat usage as far as I know. I think they may be FireFox 3.x related, but I am still trying to track it down. I'll keep you posted
  10. Sorry, guys, but I'm pulling the plug on this. It was an idea that just never really captured anyone's interest but my own. Better to just give it a merciful death. :D
  11. I've poked all I'm going to poke. I wouldn't get my hopes up that Affliction is coming back to this, but you never know. Feel free to wrap it up however you like.
