  1. Reflex save, 1d20+9 = 29 so she passes, and Toughness 1d20+8 = 20 so she eats a bruise which I'll accept.
  2. You'd be able to recognize it as Dream Magic, but if you want more details than that I'll ask for a power check, yeah
  3. Shooting Star and Steel Shade Aaron gives a casual salute as Luke mentions being from Southside, but doesn't comment about either boy's origin, instead following Neko and Owain's explanation of their relationship with several nods, watching Neko's video with mild interest. Alice flicks a small scrunched up piece of paper at Leon for his comment about being on Neko's show (she has a show, who knew?) wincing and taking another drink as she missed miserably and the wad vanished onto the clear blue sky. Aaron meanwhile chuckles at the comment about reviewing the cafeteria food, "I'm sure there are more pleasant ways to die than trying to eat that food. Could never tell which indistinguishable yellow mass was corn bread and which was the supposedly scrambled egg. Best not to risk it in general." He purses his lips slightly at Luke's comment about bring a cool older brother, and Leon's comment about going on a road trip, but doesn't comment as he surveys the five teens. "Well, I think I've taken up enough of your time, I'm sure I can placate the parents as long as Alice is home by tonight and not at an unreasonable hour." He stands before pausing, looking down at his sister, "If you need anything just let me know. I'll just be working on some things for work in the new year." With that he departs, quickly becoming one with the crowd. Alice is silent for a moment before pouring the last of the room rum into her glass and knocking back half of it. "Can we just fforget that happened and get back to having a good time?"
  4. Shooting Star Alice had to admit, she had no clue about the circus. She had seen posters for a circus once as a kid on her way to a checkup, but tickets had been too expensive and so they'd never gone. That disappointment was the sum total of what she knew. Which was apparently about as much as Predator, so she'd taken to flying around places that could have taken a circus tent. She was therefore quite relieved at Doctor Fields' breakthrough. Looking down at the dump now that she had a moment to reflect, she was just glad her brother wasn't involved. She listened as Predator listed her plan, basic as it was and asked for her thoughts. "That sounds good to me. I think we should try spotting the leader that Jeremy mentioned as soon as possible, since that should stop the lady he mentioned." She pauses a moment, fiddling with a piece of bronze that had fallen off her breastplate like it was putty as she thought. "Probably want to keep them from escaping, don't want all that super tech making it's way to the streets. I have an idea to disable the truck which should get their attention if you wanna do an ambush." As she considers what she'd just said, a look of mild concern passes across her face and she activates her radio, "Excuse me Doctor Fields, two questions: What does the caster gun do? I'm tough but I don't have any resistances against being thrown back in time or being deaged or something. Second, what's the range, operating altitude and temperature limits of the radio?"
  5. Blue Bolt Vueriz grinned behind her mask at her classmate's thanks, patting his arm as Mizuki stood, she waved goodbye to her classmate before making her way across the sand to resume work upon her little project. She wanted to get it done before more people left or started falling asleep. It just needed to finish the propulsion mechanism, perhaps a gravitic inverter? No, that would take too much power, something self sustaining would be better... A quantum foam manipulator, yes. She just needed something to kickstart it, some sort of power source... "Hrm, hey can anyone here generate electricity with their powers?"
  6. Blue Bolt Vueriz had missed the drama of Consuelo's little trip into the water, and had been slightly too late to help Baz out, although given it was a test by the other teen she supposed that was fine. Instead she had busied herself with the raft that would contain her ice bath with Lawrence. She barely waited a moment before hopping in, groaning with relief at the temperature. Comfortably warm for her, rather than the awful heat of the island. Hesitating a moment, she cracked an eye to look at Lawrence, mumbling a quiet "Thank you, Lawrence."
  7. Blue Bolt Vueriz was very glad about Parker's interruption of the train of whatever that was. She nodded gratefully at the offer of a campus tour, perhaps some walking would make things make sense. She looks up at Consuelo as the train of questions begins, finding the comment about disintegrating beds rather concerning, but at this point not really discounting anything. "Well how do you disintegrate things? If you're breaking Atomic structures that's very different than if you're reducing the strength of the Nuclear Forces." The questions of biology are something she's much more ready to field, having been expecting such things much more than... whatever had happened for the last few minutes. "I can eat human food, but it is hard on my stomach and I need to supplement my diet with Fluorine to keep in good health. I sleep. Too much if you ask my brother." She jokes, but feels a pang as she is reminded of the cosmic distance between her and her family.
  8. Shadowborne Muirne would be lying if she said she wasn't very curious about whatever Vik pulled Charlie aside for, although she doubted it would be anything as crass as Leon suggested. Still, it wasn’t her business, so she busied herself looking around. Peeking through a few walls, trying to find hidden compartments, trying to work out what the dial under the light switch was for. Maybe it is to activate the defenses. That seems Charlie-like. Aoife suggested. Muirne nodded, inspecting the room again for signs of whatever such defenses could be. Perhaps the lightbulb can flash to blind people? Or the nozzle up there isn't for water for fires, but instead sprays that foam Charlie uses to catch people. Maybe it is to make the speakers deafen people, like Howl's technology? This continued until Charlie and Vik returned, and at no point did they consider that it was too dim the lights. Still Muirne and Aoife out aside their little game of trying to spot all the places their Cowl companion may have hidden defensive measures, to respond to Charlie. "That sounds good to me."
  9. Blue Bolt Vueriz grumbled slightly at not being allowed to fly, but didn't protest, settling instead on glaring at the map as if giving it the stink-eye would make it give up it's secrets. Macedon's explanation was clear and would probably be helpful, if she could tell any of the details from the mass of lines. Giving up, she got back under her board, lifting it up so that it wouldn't hit one of her classmates, before walking over to stand next to Baz, who she gave a light pat on the arm and made some space under the board for on case he wanted some shade.
  10. Shadowborne Aoife wouldn't admit it but she had also been cheating, turning invisible upon occasion when there was no cover between hiding spots, although Muirne grumbled at the unfairness. She had been lining up a shot on Charlie after he'd ambushed Bernadette, but was still several long seconds away from being confident in her shot when the crash occurred. She sighed slightly, lowering the gun and letting her shadows wash over herself in the way she'd seen Muirne do it, her clothes quickly replaced with armour, and her spear and shield taking the place of her rifle. At a run she quickly arrived at the hole, still coated in shadows that rendered her invisible. Looking at the pair, she figured Vik would be fine, she was a frontliner, same as Luke, they would probably do quite well if all the bad guys responded to Vik's challenge. Leon on the other hand... She made her way over to him, moving as fast as she could. Trying her best not to surprise him as she was still invisible she gently grabbed his shoulders, whispering "Hey, it's me. I have an idea, just go along with it." before enveloping him in darkness and pulling him into her portal. Quickly from there she ran her way to the armoured car that had crashed into the lamp post, sliding behind it and out of sight before ejecting Leon from the gateway. As soon as part of him left she grabbed onto it, turning him invisible like herself. "Okay, sorry about that. Didn't think you wanted to get up close and personal with the bad guys. I'm thinking we pop up and try to catch as many of them as we can, your paper and my shadows, how about it?"
  11. Blue Bolt Vueriz didn't need to be told twice that the timeline was no longer vulnerable to their intervention, having had her Meson Driver trained at the 'mechanical embalmed corpse' (How that worked, or why someone would defile a body like that for no apparent benefit escaped her.) in case the crime against science attacked civilians, or injured Lawrence's mother. As such she had already arrived at a firing solution. With an exhale to reduce any tremors she squeezed the firing button. With a bassy thump and a flash of blue light dozens of mesons screamed across the intervening distance at over ninety-nine percent of the speed of light. With another flash the mesons detonated inside the mummy, highlighting robotic parts below the thick wrap of bandages as the spray of radiation ripped through metal, plastic and chemical structures, weakening the robot's structure. Blue Bolt whooped at the impact, eyes affixed at the light show, "Take that you piece of expletive! Hope whatever hack made you likes putting atomic bonds back together!"
  12. Okay, Aoife's Schattenwelt Drawing is gonna be in this setting: Alternate Power: [12 + 6 + 5 + 2 + 4 = 29PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (Portal, Gateway, Aura, Covering) Concealment 4 (Shadow Covering; All Visual Senses; Extras: Affects Others) [12PP] Dimensional Pocket 1 (Well Storing; Extras: Duration 3 [Continuous, Lasting]; Flaws: Requires Grapple; Feats: Progression 2 [500lbs]) [6PP] Super-movement 1 (Dimensional Movement [Schattenwelt]; Extras: Duration [Continuous]; Linked [Speed (+0)]; Feats: Progression 2 [500lbs]) [5PP] Speed 2 (Extras: Linked [Super-movement (+0)]) [2PP] Super-movement 1 (Dimensional Movement [Schattenwelt]; Extras: Portal [+2]) [4PP] Okay, tried to just describe the whole action as a paragraph and it started to confuse me on rereads so I'll say it as a list. 1. She is maintaining her Concealment Power and will quick change into her armour (she stores it in her Dimensional Pocket) 2. She will Move-by-Action first half to bamf to Leon with her Dimensional Movement-linked-Speed 3. She will spend a Hero Point to stuff Leon into her Dimensional Pocket 4. She will finish her Move-by-Action to get to a new hiding place Skill Mastery 28 on Stealth. 5. She will eject Leon from her Pocket, maintaining contact so her Concealment can Affect Others into him. Jesus that was a list.
  13. The Dreamer and Dryhten Dougal The Dreamer growled lowly at the villains condescension, calling upon the well of fury she pulled forth The Carnifex, the Nightmare towering over the attacker, great curled horns rising from its forehead. It grinned viciously as it swept clawed hands forwards to slash at it's foe, but he merely stepped backwards, avoiding the Dream's attack and interposing it between himself and Blackstaff. "Hah! Is this the best that modern mages can muster? I had thought this would be sporting, but I suppose any entertainment this provides will be comedy borne of incompetence." As the mage spoke, Christopher spots something down a nearby alleyway. A white rabbit in a waistcoat waves to the investigator, beckoning him before checking his pocket watch and hurriedly scampering around a nearby corner.
  14. Okay, hearing that the timeline is already altered, Blue Bolt is gonna fire the Meson Driver at the mummy, 1d20+8 = 16. Gonna hero point reroll that, 1d20+8(+10) = 20. If that hits its DC18 Fortitude vs Affects Objects Toughness Drain.
  15. Shadowborne Aoife rocked back on her heels as the psychic scream ran through her, looking to her friends as Chump ran with her captor. She wanted to go after him, hunt Cas down like the animal he was, she wasn't feeling as... merciful as the Zombie Queen. Merciful did not feel like the right word, but Aoife didn't know English well enough to come up with an alternate word. Huffing an amused breath at the odd direction of her thoughts she stumbled over to where Leon lay to slump down and lay on her back, relieved tears beginning to flow as she tasted freedom after a year of servitude. "Thank you." She rasped, as the tears cut hot lines from her eyes to get temples. "I- Thank you all."
  16. Shooting Star and Steel Shade Alice had continued to try merging her forehead with the table as her brother spoke to the trio, although she did groan when he asked if he needed to give a shovel talk. Aaron" meanwhile smiled amiably as Owain assured him of his sister's virtue, before greeting Neko warmly. "Aaron Armstrong, Alice's brother. So you kids went to Riverview High? Man when I went there I hoped every day that some pyrokinetic would burn that place down. So, you lot Fens kids or Southsiders?" At Leons comment about her stubborn morals, Aaron chuckles while Alice rejoined the land of those who aren’t becoming one with the table, snatching the bottle of rum from in front of her brother, and pouring herself another hefty glass before offering it to the others. Her brother shakes his head as Luke pipes in. "Our parents asked me to find her after age vanished in us." He pauses for a moment, looking at Alice, "Speaking of which, I know you're an independent High school graduate and all, but if you're going out, let Mom and Dad know. You know how worried they get." Alice grumbled to herself, taking an unadvisably large drink of her glass. "I just wantedti hang out with my friends. I'm not sick anymore." She said bitterly, her intoxicating adding the harsh tone.
  17. Blue Bolt Vueriz had been positioning her skyboard above herself as a shield from the sun while Dr. Macedon tossed Carmen the compass and Baz took the map. Given the pair's rather uninspiring reactions she figured she'd take a look, first trying to peek under Baz's arm, then jumping, both to no avail. Instead she clambered into her board to look over the boy's shoulder, and then being squarely reminded that she had yet to figure out how to read English. So she was left looking at a flat piece of processed plant fiber with absolutely no way of telling what anything meant, from the weird squiggly lines to any of the words in the part she assumed was a map key. "Ah." She uttered, eloquently as always. "Maybe I could fly up with someone to get a better view."
  18. Shadowborne Aoife joins Charlie in his cry, primal and triumphant as she swept her arms back, drawing the shadows that were linking the two realms together back to herself, severing the two worlds from each other once more. As the tear seals itself shut once more she takes a ragged breath to steady herself, her disused voice box sore from the exertion it had suffered this night. She wraps her shadows around herself again, the partial transformation comforting, and soothing as her throat vanishes into unfeeling shadows. "Is it over?" She croaks at the same time Muirne asks the question in her head. Unseen beneath the swathe of darkness she smiles as she looks at the others, her friends, united once again.
  19. With the Conqueror Worm in the other side, Aoife is gonna close the portal!
  20. Vueriz is gonna ready an action to shoot the big mummy with her Meson Driver if it either starts going after civilians, goes after their group or Velocity gets hit. Do you want an IC for that, or wait until her action goes off?
  21. 1d20+9 = 19, literally the most normal roll ever
  22. I'm afraid he makes his save, if only just. The Dreamer is gonna try to save against Paralyze, 1d20+5 = 18, she is still slowed. She's his switch her Summon Array to summon The Carnifex, who is gonna take a swing at Dougal, 1d20+4 = 14. That's a miss. Now, I'll admit when I picked Dougal's abilities for this thread, I wasn't expecting to roll quite so well. I'm going to have him miss a turn to gloat and give both Blackstaff and The Dreamer a Hero Point.
  23. Blue Bolt Vueriz had learned from her trip to Fiji, making sure to clarify the sort of temperature she'd be dealing with beforehand. As such she was wearing her latest creation, a super awesome climate controlled jacket! Now she could wear her superhero costume without worrying (as much) about overheating (again, as much). She still wanted to crawl under the van and never come out again, but that wouldn't be very cool of her. Still she tried to match Baz' enthusiasm, striking a pose next to him (He was, after all her fellow cool rebel teen). "And I'm Blue Bolt! Gadgeteer extraordinaire!" She paused, having not expected the rhyme in English, but deciding to roll with it. "My homeworld is much colder than Earth, so I'm sure I'll be fine at night, but I am sure there will be other challenges for us along the way."
  24. 1d20+10 = 11, hah she knows nothing. Makes sense, her family is broke so she's probably never been to the circus.
  25. 1d20+13 = 33 First roll for Vueriz is a nat 20!
