  1. The Dreamer The Dreamer struggled to respond to the rapidly evolving situation under the influence of the stranger's spell, barely mustering a confused noise as Blackstaff hefted her from her dream steed. The Carnifex by contrast responded with vigour as the wizard created a wall of ice to cover their escape, leaping upon the man with ferocity and seizing his arms with a vice-like grip. As the pair made their way down the alleyways Christopher would catch glimpses of the white rabbit, each time just before it would dart around the next corner. If The Dreamer noticed this interloper, she gave no indication, instead trying to fight back a slowly rising blush.
  2. Yoof that's a high save. 1d20+10-1 = 18, gonna HP reroll that. 1d20+10-1 (+10) = 24 still a bruise, but I'll live with it.
  3. Sorry for the slow responses. The Carnifex is going to try for an All-Out-Attack Grapple to help Blackstaff get away, 1d20+8 = 26 hits, then opposed Grapple attempt 1d20+21 = 22... truly stellar performance on the Nightmare's part. He fails, but not by much. So he's grappled. At this point I'll wave my magic GM paintbrush and ignore the fight, since it would be a lot of rolling for me to post at myself, and I know how it will most likely go. I'll do an IC post today then we can leave initiative order.
  4. Blue Bolt Vueriz had laughed when Parker had said not to give the bad guy ideas, and has continued cheerfully watching her friends trounce the robots. She wasn't laughing now, watching with horror as the creatures descended upon her class and the police, dark blood staining the road. Her own blood, a mixture of purple and colorless liquid joined theirs as her distraction got her caught too. She hadn't thought it would be like this. Everyone talked about the glamourous stuff, saving lives, winning the day, being a cool superhero. No one mentioned the scary parts. Some part of her railed against that fear, as she looked at the attackers. She had to stop this. Had. To. Her eyes skimmed over the battlefield, she couldn't help the injured right now, and if she attacked the little ones she would risk hitting her friends. Her eyes alighted on the two distant drones, where might they end up? Who might they hurt? They had to try keeping them focused on their group, and take out any that wandered too far. This time she was silent as her particle blades met the 'Communion' as Lawrence put it, before looping back to Parker and the wounded policeman. Hopefully her presence would help distract from the wounded man.
  5. Okay, I'll hit the two to the south before heading over to Spaceman
  6. Blue Bolt Vueriz gave Neko a grateful look as she revealed a tiny disguise, nodding profusely at the offer. She was glad when neither of the strangers seemed to be bothered, apparently being former Claremont students, but after one close call she didn't want to tempt fate. Now disguised, she held her hand up to the strangers to shake. "I'm Vueriz, it's nice to meet you both. Provided it wouldn't interrupt Neko's disguise, I'd be happy to go see the others." She paused briefly as the sounds of chanting began to filter into the room, before sheepishly adding, "And it might be a good idea to not delay the band any further, before they start a riot without us."
  7. Okay, gonna do the same thing as last round with the particle blades. Gonna start with the four around Spaceman, and if I can reach I'd like to get the two around TL2, before either returning to or staying near Spaceman. Edit: Forgot to include any actual numbers, same Power Attack as last time, so 20 to hit, DC21 save.
  8. Blue Bolt Vueriz barely followed Aquaria's spouted words, gathering that she had identified her as an alien and gotten her armour from space, although she barely suppressed a snort at the 'magic portal' comment. She wasn't good at reading people, especially given the differences between Zirtimzara and Humans, no tails thrashing or ears moving, although the blush reflex seemed the same. As such it was a small miracle that she could read Parker's tension, even if she was very wrong on what she thought it was from. As such, her schoolmate probably wasn't particularly reassured when she patted him on the leg and said "Don't worry, we all know magic isn't real." Still, she watched the portal writhed against the reality that rejected it, trying to spot any activation that had caused it. She had to admit, she'd give her right arm to take the trident apart she study the components that let it open a gateway like that. (Of course, she would then build a replacement that used such technology to cement her place as a cool cyborg rebel who could open gateways to other worlds, but the loss of the arm was the important part, not what she would do after.) When the Deep One queried their linguistic capacity she raised her hand pronouncing "My breathing mask contains a Universal Translator. There isn't a language across the stars that I cannot understand!"
  9. Sorry, missed the save request. 1d20+7 = 20 so that's a bruise, 1d20+7 = 14, gonna spend a HP to reroll so 1d20+7 = 18, oof, the worst possible HP reroll.
  10. Shooting Star Alice had flown up to orbit upon Doctor Field's confirmation of the communicators capabilities, using the time that Predator needed to get into position to find a piece of space junk to shield her from reentry. Her costume was damaged enough as it was, she didn't need to disintegrate it via reentry. Once Predator radioed her readiness, Alice positioned the piece of metal she had found below herself and launched herself downwards. Almost immediately the air around her lit up from reentry, normally when performing reentry she let gravity carry her in and used her flight to decelerate as her scavenged shield melted, but this time she pushed herself down faster as the flames roared around her. She blew out a single breath in the silence of hypersonic flight before the world exploded around her, the body of the truck parting before her arrival like water. Even as she pulled herself up so as not to bury herself beneath the earth she felt it heaving as the roar of her passing arrived like the voice of an angry God. She rose free of the crater that had once been the thieves truck, steam rising from her as her breastplate glowed dully and the fabric of her costume bubbled. A corner of her mind noted the costumed man slumped against a wall as the thunder of her arrival continued. Had Predator taken him down? She must work quick. She knew her melting costume and smoldering cape didn't exactly cut the most impressive figure, so she had to capitalize on the shock of her arrival. As the thunder of her reentry slowly tapered away she grinned, smashing her fist into her palm in front of herself, a resounding crack echoing through the dump. "I am ready to accept your surrender."
  11. Okay, so I'm going to Extra Effort to gain the Power Attack Feat and then spend a Hero Point to clear the fatigue. She's finds All-Out-Attack full +5 Attack/-5 Defense and Power Attack for a full +5 Damage/-5 Attack She will then take the Charge (+2 to hit, -2 Defense) action into the truck from orbit. She will then hit the truck. 1d20+7 = 18, and a DC35 Toughness save for the Truck.
  12. Blue Bolt Vueriz had wanted to hang out with the others, but the reality of the situation was that she stood out 'like a sore thumb' (She had been learning human phrases) and with the exception of Baz the rest of them had secret identities to protect. Instead she had talked with Bernadette and had gotten a backstage pass. To pay her teammate back for her kindness she had taken it upon herself to check through the sound system to make sure there would be no issues. She had been pleased to find none, even when she had gone under the stage. So, crawling out she dusted off her lilac crop top and was about to do the same for her ratty jean shorts (they'd been normal when she got them, but she cut them short and left a precise distance from her roommate overnight to get the worn look just right) before she looked up to see two black haired humans she didn't recognize talking to Bernadette, Neko and the band. There was no way they hadn't seen her. She froze for a long moment, except for her tail which writhed like a snake, and a rising purple flush that was slowly creeping above her mask. "Expletive." She was once again censored by her translator, thinking fast. How could she play this to avoid spoiling Bernadette and Neko's identities. Her eyes flicked to the others, before giving off an uncertain laugh. "This isn't a field of corn in the middle of nowhere! Teleporters am I right? What's the point of all those crop circles if it can't even use them to target your arrival properly?" Silently she thanked Consuelo for asking her about the crop circles, even if that had been a really weird conversation.
  13. Blue Bolt Vueriz quickly waved her hand to lower her skyboard which she leapt upon with the grace of long practice, hands and tail finding the control surfaces. With a whirring and a sound not dissimilar to a famous variety of laser sword, her board lit up with beams of blue light along the wings, alpha and beta particles slicing through the air at hypervelocity. The alien tinker whooped as despite her boards assistance she still jolted backwards as she rapidly hit her top speed, an aurora trail following her board. Quickly she approached the first robot, dipping the wing down to clothesline it with the particle beam, the stream of particles sawing through the metal with a flash. The second and third robots fared no better as she twirled through the air like a gigantic shuriken. Unfortunately her showboating spared the last one as to pull off an incredibly harsh barrel roll after the third robot she had to divert particles away from the blade, and instead of slicing through it like butter the particles only scraped and heated the metal before the crescent wing of her board collided with it, setting her spinning away. Still, she quickly recovered into a hover and rudely gestured to the robot below. "You're supposed to send stronger robots in the second wave you stupid expletive."
  14. Okay, minion rules right? Vueriz is gonna set her board to Base Power: [5 + 3 + 2 + 14 = 24PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (Atomic Particles) Flight 6 (Flaws: Platform; Drawbacks: Doesn't Work Underwater) [5PP] Immovable 3 (Stability Assist [3PP] (Computer) Move Object 2 (Maglock; Flaws: Range [Touch]) [2PP] Damage 4 (Particle Blades; Extras: Targeted Area [Trail]; Feats: Accurate 4, Improved Critical 2) [14PP] She's gonna flyby as many of them as she can and is gonna go for a -2/+2 power attack on the Particle Blades, taking a 10 for a 20 to hit against all enemies within a 40ft. Trail at whichever point has the most. (Using move by action to activate it during the flight.) Assuming that hits, DC21 Toughness save for however many she can get.
  15. Blue Bolt Vueriz had expected to have to fight tooth and nail to get here. Her guardian was alright, but given what she'd heard about the Deep Ones she'd expected him to deny her request. She'd come up with so many arguments as to how it could be useful, why she was interested, why it would all be fine, and then he just looked at her and signed the form. Regardless, she wasn't gonna look a gift horse in the mouth. She inspected the hero's armour intently as she arrived, towering over her. It was quite impressive, and she would love to take it apart and analyse the components, but she was staring, and that was rude. She drew her eyes up to the amphibious face of the heroine. She didn't seem that scary, she had seen scarier aliens on Zirtimzar. Although she supposed with how fragile humans apparently were on average she could see how they could be dangerous. "Hey! I'm Vueriz, from planet Zirtimzar. It is nice to meet you." There, she was a master of the conversation. Just pretend she's an alien, she's seen those before. From a distance. (It'll be fine.)
  16. Well, my plan is that Shooting Star is gonna fly up to space and then do an orbital drop on the truck (this is why I was asking about the Slam rules, and why she asked about the earpieces range. Given the rather confusing rules there I think I'd instead do a normal attack and just fluff it as a slam if that's okay with you? 1d20+2 = 15 for Initiative
  17. Blue Bolt Vueriz nodded along with Baz's conversational stream of consciousness, deferring to his greater familiarity with terrestrial geology. This world was strange, what with its superheroes and time travel, she wasn't taking any knowledge for granted. Sure dihydrogen monoxide wasn't exactly great for her, but if she needed to find it for the others now she knew where to start looking. She reorients as Doctor Macedon explains how to read the map, making sure to memorize which landmarks she pointed to. She may not be able to read the arcane little symbols, but she could at least remember one pile of colorful rocks over another. And so they began walking. And walking... And walking... And walking some more. She had spent the first little while watching Baz's glow reflect off the sand. It was very pretty, but there was only so long that you could stare at your classmate before it got weird. (and she'd probably left it a bit too long as it was.) And so she quickly scrambled for a topic. "So... you listen to any new bands recently?" (Nailed it.)
  18. Initiative, 1d20+13 = 21, not nearly as quick as the first
  19. Shadowborne Aoife growled lowly as their ambush gets spoiled by the man in the visor, dodging just slower than Paper as she struggles to hold onto his hand. She grunts in pain as the pressure wave slams into her, looking up as Paper drew the big guy's attention. She burst from concealment, wreathed in her shadows as she extended her arm up to grab a light post before pulling back, swinging out her legs to swing past Big Horn, couching her spear like a lance to meet the giant's helm, the shadows on her spear sucking at the light, only for the spear to scrape along the side of her helm. She snarled at her foe's resistance before landing on the top of the armoured van. She looked down at the duplicate and the Visored man, shadowy wreath writhing in the light as her eyes glowed green. "Surrender." She growls down at the pair.
  20. Okay, Aoife is gonna switch the Schattenwelt Drawing Array to Base Power: [10 + 8 + 2 + 3 + 6 = 29PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (Partial Transformation) Elongation 5 (100ft. Extension; Extras: Projection) [10PP] Super-senses 8 (Life Awareness; Descriptor Frequency: Very Common; Sense Type: Mental, Default: None; Extras: Accurate, Acute, Ranged; Feats: Uncanny Dodge [Life Awareness]) [8PP] Super-movement 1 (Swinging; Extras: Linked [Speed (+0)]) [2PP] Speed 3 (Extras: Linked [Super-movement (+0)]) [3PP] Super-movement 3 (Permeate, Wall-Crawling, Trackless) [6PP] and switch Shadow Channeling to Alternate Power: [10PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (Draining, Consumption) Thirsting Strike 10 Adds (Extras: Vampiric 10) to Shadowed Weapons [10PP] And is gonna Super-Movement Swing + Speed around Big Horn, Move-by-Action Attacking him at her full -2/+2 Power Attack do+8 to hit, Damage 12, 1d20+8 = 27 which is within her threat range due to Improved Critical (It's on her spear) which is +5DC I believe? If I'm right that's a DC32 Toughness Save! She will then land on top of the Armoured Van that Visor opened. IC to follow!
  21. Blue Bolt Vueriz looked around her friends, not entirely sure why everyone had decided to take turns describing their schoolmates, or who 'Marty McFly is, but she decided to join in. "There's Bernadette, uh, Multi-Girl. She's slightly taller than you, has black hair and green eyes, face spots and is wearing black jeans and a grey hoodie. She duplicates herself, so if she's looking for us she should be easiest to find since she'd be everywhere." She pauses for a minute, before adding, "Assuming the anomaly that split us deposited us in this time didn't separate us from them in more than just space." She debates theorizing that perhaps the timeline divergence was caused by their classmates, but decides against it. Such a theory wouldn't really help them at that moment. Instead she leans over to Baz, whispering, "Who's Marty Mcfly?"
  22. Shadowborne Aoife wiped helplessly at her tears as the others left. She didn't like this, the strange pain as the liquid forced itself from her eyes. She hadn't experienced this before, and Muirne was similarly indisposed as Luke wiped at her tears. Choking back a sob she threw her arms around his neck, burying her face in his shoulder, unable to hold back from softly sobbing. "I- I want to go home." She said softly. "Please Fýrdraca, can we go?"
  23. Shadowborne 3+2+2(+4+ = 11 (2PP) The Young Guardians Returns! 3 Meanwhile, at the Guardians Mansion! 2 Dance Beneath the Stars 2 Shooting Star 3+3 = 6 (1PP) Friends in the Fens 3 Battles Under the Big Top 3 The Dreamer 2 (1PP) A Dream of Christmas 2 Blue Bolt 2+4+3+4+3 = 16 (2PP) Bolt from the Blue 2 Tropical Getaway 4 Tropical Getaway: A Blanket of Stars 3 Never Was 4 Survival Class: Survival in the Hereafter 3 GM 2(1+1) = 4 to Shadowborne A Dream of Christmas 1 Foes from the Fens 1 Please apply the GM posts to Shadowborne (Totals noted in post)
  24. Shooting Star Alice sighed as Owain spoke. She didn't like the growing distance between her and Aaron, but how was she supposed to stomach spending time with him when he was a supervillain? When every time she looked at him she could see the scar that she gave him? A million problems rattled around her head, reasons she should cut ties, bring him in, something. But he was her brother, and it would destroy her to do it, and she'd have to look her parents in the eyes as the person who sent him to jail. Instead of giving voice to these concerns, maybe asking the others for help, she chose the cowards way out and just slurred that "It's complicated. Sorry."
  25. GM Evening, Friday the 1st of March The sun was mostly hidden by the horizon, painting the skyline of Freedom with the fading colours of the last dregs of sunlight, when both Luke and Leon's evenings were interrupted by a message. <NUMBER_BLOCKED> Come to the abandoned warehouse on #### near Kissinger. Wear costumes. Probably not the most ominous or strange message the pair had received, but certainly one which raised questions. Perhaps one of their teammates had found something and was calling them for backup. Or perhaps something more sinister was occurring... The only question is how the two heroes would respond.
