  1. Shadowborne Aoife made what could be charitably considered an approving noise towards Mette's contribution, her claws sucking in small motes of darkness and growing in size into large, pitch dark cudgels as she readied them against the pig. Leaving very little in the way of her own defence she lashed out, smashing the blunt clubs into her opponent repeatedly. Reaching out over Synapse's telepathic communications, Aoife spoke: The pig is nearly dealt with. It should be defeated in short order.
  2. Shooting Star When Alice had decided to let Paper, Nightscale and Outrider know who she was after fighting Aaron and his new team it was for the purpose of coordinating as heroes and to make them even after she'd seen Nightscale and Outrider's faces. Having a team to call on could be useful, the only other person she'd worked with was Archer, and for all that he was good, he was still one person. Imagine her surprise when Paper- Leon, she reminded herself- called her up and invited her to a party. At first she'd thought it was too go undercover for something, then she thought it was maybe a team building exercise or some kind of code that he just didn't realize she didn't know. She'd asked for details, and as they talked she came to a conclusion: He was actually just inviting her to a party. In a warehouse. After a great deal of thinking and debating with herself, she decided that there couldn't be much harm in it. It'd be like going out for drinks with coworkers or something. Right? So here she was, with three people she didn't know, listening to Leon tell his joke wearing a black Rammstein t-shirt that was closer to a short dress on her (It was a hand me down from Aaron) with a pair of blue jeans that were ripped at the knees and some black flats. The dress her parents saw her leave in was safely stored on The Moon. That is, she was listening until the cadaver hit the pavement. Air hissed between her teeth as she took a half step to interpose herself between the source of the noise and the others. Concrete cracked beneath her feet as her weight settled slightly and she pulled herself up slightly. She didn't really want to reveal her ID to three strangers, but given that the other girl, Neko she thought her name was, just turned into a cat girl she was pretty sure they were heroes too. With a sigh she ripped some metal off of a nearby stop sign and moulded it to cover her face, poking holes for her eyes. Her identity so protected, she spoke up. "I can fly us up, my flight's silent too, although some of you are probably going to be pretty uncomfortable. I don't have anything other than my arms, so if anyone lacks super strength or something else to keep them in place I can hold onto two of you, everyone else would have to just hold on." She wasn't thrilled at the idea of the people hanging onto her, especially when it was potentially the case that they could all be teenage boys, but duty calls.
  3. Shadowborne Muirne was slightly paler than her normal when Luke turned to face her as her mind raced. She's had options, a wealth of abilities that would let her combat any foe she could face. The fact that it was magic didn't matter right? She took a shaky breath before answering his question. "I'll be fine." A flimsy smile graced her lips as she answered him. "Just nervous I guess. This whole talk of zombies is... Slightly concerning." Unbidden the image of Dougal, shambling towards her, his evil eye alight with hate came to mind. She squashed it down and settled her shoulders, although her stomach wasn't so obedient. She could make it through this.
  4. Okay, so firstly I'm going to be saying that each minion taken down by a trap or the like it's just downed, so I don't drown in rolls. Also on the intervening months I've apparently lost my demon stat sheets, but I remember the gist and will be looking for them again. With that, there's three Spinethrowers and two gangsters down, so still an army in the way. The Spinethrower in Group 1 is going to back off since the rest of the group just went down. @RocketLord let me know if this would trigger the last tripwire. Group 3's Spinethrower looks rather unsettled and it's sticking very close to his gangster with a spine in hand. The flying crystalline demons are going to circle down slightly, and little pinpricks of sickly coloured light appear on them. They have prepared an action. The lead demon heads towards the three of you slowly, sniffing the air and holding his axe while the leader follows around 20 feet behind with his rifle at the ready. At this pace the demon will reach where the last near-gangster trap is next turn and will reach where you three are the turn after. IC to follow. (Will probably just edit the previous one)
  5. GM There was a moment of pregnant silence as Luke spun his illusions and the noisemakers began crying for help. The groups started scrambling to catch sight of the sources of noise. Four of their number went down as the traps went off, snaring two demons and two gangsters, while the third group saw through the trap and sent their demons forwards to no effect. The illusions proved less effective, although a single Spinethrower demon did bound off into the distance over the protests of it's gangster. The last standing individual in the first group- A Spinethrower Demon- skittered backwards away from it's roped up fellows, hissing in fear. At the same time it's only fellow still present and standing put itself next to the gangster who commanded it, a spine in hand, rest to be thrown at some unseen assailant. The flying crystals gave less dramatic responses, merely dropping closer to the ground and beginning to glow with tiny little pinpricks of light, like a constellation of sickly stars. As the demons responded a general wave of cursing and bellyaching swept the crowd of gangsters and the lead demon readied his axe, moving towards the location the teens were hiding. The lead gangster scowled, following his demon with rifle in hand.
  6. The Dreamer The Dreamer nodded as the boy agreed to her offer of a resupply. "If you get me a list of what you would need to rebuild your machine at your soonest convenience I can replace the lost material. Again, I apologize for my hastiness." Off to the side, The Carnifex seemed quite interested in Bee's talking about bees and of her powers, opening it's mouth to speak before Tesla spoke to the group, interrupting it. It's eyes narrowed at the 'survive the experience' comment, but otherwise it didn't respond as The Dreamer bowed slightly in her chair. "Thank you for the opportunity."
  7. GM Seeing their brethren felled so easily seemed to weaken the Maero's will to fight, or perhaps they wished to warm their leaders of the heroes. Either way, as The Little Mermaid's jet of water cut off the last three stood and fled, leaving the downed Giants to their fate.
  8. Okay, so I talked to Lone Star and El won't be joining the combat for the foreseeable future. To that end I'm going to say that El is helping the civilians evacuate so that the others can fight without worrying about them and still have her nearby. Maybe edit your IC SF, to reflect this, but it's up to you. In light of this, I am giving each player a hero point, since this will be making the combat harder through no one's fault. On that note, it's time for initiative rolls. If anyone wants to sneak in another pre-combat IC go for it. Rolls, Shooting Star: 1d20+2 = 12 Anarchilles: 17 The Card Carrying Villain: 11 The Human Nightlight: 8 On that rousing note, let's see if anyone manages to go last.
  9. Shooting Star Alice heaved a sigh of relief as Brute stopped struggling in her arms, catching her breath and releasing her strange power stunt that she'd pulled, floating free of the concrete as she cradled the unconscious giant in her arms. She took several long moments to calm down as the thought of simply crushing his 'Master' does through her. Nightscale's question shook her out of her reveree, and she floated up out of the hole with Matthew. "It went fine, I just find that holes are terribly comfortable. I think everyone will be living in them in the future." She wasn't as okay as she was presenting, and would probably spend the night in orbit trying to cry out her horror without disturbing anyone, but for now she had to be Shooting Star, the unflappable heroine. She was about to keep quipping when she spotted the burning man. Thinking fast she put Matthew down as gently as she could manage, trying to think of how she could smother the flames. If it was her she'd just fly upwards to deprive the fire it oxygen but that would doubtless harm him. She needed something else, like how you could use sand to... With a spark of inspiration she stripped off her gloves, no sense in burning her costume. Handing them to Nightscale and rolling back her bodysuit's sleeves she picked up a chunk of concrete, crushing it into a powder, doing her best to avoid airborne particles. With a deep breath she reached into the fire, rubbing the powder onto his skin, hoping that it would put him out.
  10. Shadowborne Muirne gave Luke a pat on his shoulder at his question. "You look fine, Luke." She reassured him (again). Hopefully he wouldn't find time to ask it more given how close they were to meeting up with Dee. She took Luke's hand after he offered it, appreciative of the gesture, even if he didn't know the cause of her discomfort. Thankfully it wasn't long before they reached the middle and saw Dee. Muirne wasn't surprised at the informality of her clothes. She'd thought about letting Luke know about her normal standards of dress, but honestly she wasn't sure if he'd have believed her. It didn't exactly sound like what one would expect. Besides, a little bit of formality never hurt anyone when making a good first impression. She was glad at the easy introductions, happy to let Luke get comfortable but there was one thing that she'd been dying to know. "Hey Dee, how is the little one?"
  11. Doktor'd! Got the points to upgrade Shooting Star. She's seventeen now so should be eligible to go up to PL9. 12. Shadowborne Muirne listened in as people talked about the motion sensor. She wasn't sure how those sorts of things worked, and Charlie hadn't responded to her question. After a quick check to make sure her microphone was working she reached out and lightly held onto Luke and Callie's shoulders, pushing her shadows out to wreath first herself and then them, clenching her teeth at the pain. "If it helps, Madame Raven, Nightscale and I are now invisible, and if it's not too heavy I can send the motion sensor to the Schattenwelt."
  13. Muirne's gonna switch Schattenwelt Drawing to Alternate Power: [8 + 5 + 4 + 1 = 18PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (Portal, Gateway, Aura, Covering) Concealment 4 (Shadow Covering; All Visual Senses; Extras: Affects Others; Flaws: Passive) [8PP] Dimensional Pocket 1 (Well Storing; Extras: Duration 3 [Continuous, Lasting]; Flaws: Requires Grapple; Feats: Progression 1 [250lbs]) [5PP] Super-movement 1 (Dimensional Movement [Schattenwelt]; Extras: Duration [Continuous]; Linked [Speed (+0)]; Feats: Progression 1 [250lbs]) [4PP] Speed 1 (Extras: Linked [Speed (+0)]) [1PP] And then reach out and make herself, Luke and Callie invisible, assuming they're both in arm's reach. If she can only get one then she will make Luke invisible.
  14. All her bullshit is still running, so it's still +36, so 1d20+36 = 51, she's holding on.
  15. Okay, Aoife is gonna switch back to Shadow Claws in the Shadow Power array (I'm on my phone so I won't bother trying to input it) and attack! She'll be doing the non-feat power attack tradeoff for +2/-2 damage/attack and the non-feat alll-out-attack for +2/-2 attack/defense (I assume you can later them, lemme know if you can't.) going at it, 1d20+8-2+2 = 11! I rolled a three! He's helpless do I'm pretty sure that his even if I'm not allowed to All-out-Attack, but still! DC25 Toughness to resist.
  16. Shadowborne Muirne was dressed in a knee length burgundy tunic with some charcoal grey leggings and some short leather boots that were good for walking for a long time in. She had thought about dressing more formally, but between a desire to not make Luke feel underdressed (She knew he couldn't afford to buy fancier clothes) and the simple fact that she gave them even odds of making it to the embassies without getting attacked by monsters or villains (It happened every other time they went out) she had elected to go more casual. She still had her gear inside of her Schattenwelt portal to allow her to be in costume at a moment's notice, but didn't want to be stuck in a dress or the like while running for her life. She could tell that Luke was nervous, but decided against bringing it up. She wouldn't want him doing so if she went to visit his family, and trusted that if it got too much he would bring it up himself. Instead she returned his hug tightly, attempting to reassure him through the physical contact alone. She was quietly glad that the ride was uneventful, as she had been worried they she would have to message Dee that they would be delayed because they were stopping a time traveling robot from assassinating someone or some other thing that would probably sound like an excuse. Instead they were quickly whisked through the Consulate's Portal, something she still hadn't gotten used to, and were now (probably safely) on the English side. She smiled as Luke thanked the voice, offering her own thanks in her native tongue before leading her boyfriend off to meet Dee. She wasn't sure why but this just made it feel more official. More real. Luke was HERS and this would help prove it. Hey step stuttered at that thought. It was almost certainly Aoife, but it felt like it had come from her. She quickly regained her momentum, quickly moving past her shock. She'd think about it at a later date. Today was theirs.
  17. GM The bickering villains stopped pretty quickly when Paper and Shooting Star spoke up, looking over at the four standing at the entrance, while the glowing woman seemed to lose focus and started to slowly look around. "Well, I guess if I'm not getting payed I can at least get a good fight! Do y'all wanna go one at a time or all at once?" The masked woman gives an exaggerated sigh, "Just punch someone, Anarchilles." "The person you were before rains heavily." The armoured titan looked back at the floating woman, before turning back to the group. "With that noted, do you still wanna fight?" He falls into a clumsy fighting pose, his fists closed and held tensely in front of him, no real skill present. His conversational companion instead draws a deck of trading cards, grinning as she pulls a small handful from it.
  18. Shooting Star Alice took a moment to notice that she wasn't the only one storming the building, recognizing Outrider and Nightscale but not the other guy. "Oh, it's you two, who's your friend?" Not like it super mattered provided that he was here to help. She knew Aaron was here, but none of these guys were people she'd seen before. "If you want a fight, I'm happy to oblige."
  19. Shooting Star Alice grit her teeth and kept squeezing down on the Brute, her muscles starting to protest the continual tensing. Still, she wouldn't let go until either she, or Brute went down. She hoped the others weren't having too much trouble. And if they were, hoped that Brute wouldn't take long before he went down.
  20. Shadowborne Muirne nodded as Leon told her to keep going to find Luke, reaching into her portal. Quickly she brought her armour out and sucked her clothes in, almost instantly shifting into her Shadowborne costume. Quickly she dived into her own portal, running through the darkness of the Schattenwelt. She was faster here, running was effortless. Still, it was cold and she knew that the longer she was here, the more likely an attack by a shadowbeast would grow. As she reached around where she knew the villain was, she surfaced, her spear striking out to catch the man, it's tip shrouded in pure darkness. Without even taking a moment to see his reaction she dropped back into the Schattenwelt and kept running.
  21. Muirne's gonna switch her array to Alternate Power: [8 + 5 + 4 + 1 = 18PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (Portal, Gateway, Aura, Covering) Concealment 4 (Shadow Covering; All Visual Senses; Extras: Affects Others; Flaws: Passive) [8PP] Dimensional Pocket 1 (Well Storing; Extras: Duration 3 [Continuous, Lasting]; Flaws: Requires Grapple; Feats: Progression 1 [250lbs]) [5PP] Super-movement 1 (Dimensional Movement [Schattenwelt]; Extras: Duration [Continuous]; Linked [Speed (+0)]; Feats: Progression 1 [250lbs]) [4PP] Speed 1 (Extras: Linked [Speed (+0)]) [1PP] And then Quick Change into her armour from the dimensional pocket. Following Paper's instructions she's gonna go past Villain 4 using her Super-Movement linked Speed which I am just now noticing I messed up the link formatting, but I'll ignore that for the moment. However, Muirne is gonna use her Move-by-Action to stab him with the spear on her way, using it's Extended Reach to avoid his own. Her Shadow Channelling Array will be set to Base Power: [8PP] Additional Descriptor(s): (None) Phased Strike 8 Adds (Extras: Penetrating 8) to Shadowed Weapons [8PP] She's gonna All-Out-Attack +2 to hit, -2 to defence. So 1d20+8+2 = 26 to hit, DC23 toughness to resist stabbing. And then she's gonna leave into the Schattenwelt again and continue on to find Luke.
  22. How dare you! ? Anyway, second verse same as the first, she's gonna keep up the python impression. 'Nother DC28 Toughness save from ol' Brute. And then keep trying to break the ground with herself and Brute. Nice and simple.
  23. GM The trio of teen heroes charged at the same time as Shooting Star arrived, all four charging inside at roughly the same time. Robin, unfortunately was still down the street, puffing hard as she ran. Inside the teens found a trio of villains, and several civilians. One of whom apparently had the guts to correct the group of supervillains. "Um, this isn't a bank, miss. It's a brokerage firm. They are very different things." "Oh, I know. So does Tall, Dark and Steely, but it's fun to get under his skin." "Wait, they are? So Steel Shade isn't going to like, crack open a safe or something right now? How are we getting money here, like, I'm happy to get a good fight, but lots of money would be nice." "We didn't get money from that gaming store." "No, but we saved a killing on booster packs and minis. I don't know about you, but I don't see any of them here." As the pair were apparently doing a comic routine in front of the heroes, the glowing girl looked at the heroes, silently.
  24. Turns out I didn't have this saved to my bookmarks? Which is weird because I had the IC saved and labelled as IC, so I don't know what happened there. Medicine to see if Muirne recognizes or at least has some guesses as to what's happening: Skill Mastery 10+14 = 24. Sense Motive to see if Muirne can tell if the people spreading it are doing so intentionally: Skill Mastery 10+14 = 24. Finally Initiative time! 1d20+9 = 24 She hits the same as El
  25. Shooting Star Alice had been pursuing the group across the city and each time they escaped just as she got there. She couldn't make out why they were going where they were hitting either. It's not like Gaming Stores and Brokering Firms were prime places to rob. She knew Aaron was smarter than this, so why was he hitting these places? Putting the thought out of her mind she started to fly into the sky on a ballistic trajectory to reach Rath and Stromburg with a minimum of collateral damage from her supersonic speeds. She caught her momentum moments before she would've crushed the concrete to powder and landed outside the Plaza. She may not know why they were here, but that didn't mean she wasn't going to stop them.
