  1. Fortitude Roll: 1d20+8 = 11 Failed by 4, so -1 on attack, defense, reflex, one standard or move action, and move at half speed. Nasty.
  2. Can I get notice checks from everyone?
  3. GM Sgt. Shark and Sea Devil gracefully dove into the water, with Asad's bellyflop attracting like attention, as they dove down. Thankfully, as Asad pointed out to himself, it was not the Mariana Depths. It was nowhere with an absolutely crushing pressure. The ocean was teeming with life. Fish of all sizes and colors quickly surrounded them, most making sure to stay a safe distance away from the strange trio. A turtle swam by, also making sure to stay clear. Perhaps it was simply that the three were foreigners to these depths, or perhaps the animals sensed Sgt. Shark and Devil Fish for what they were. It wasn't long before the came over a ridge, and up ahead, they could see lights. Light green, light blue. Flashing, turning on and off. Being projected out into the water. They still had some distance before their target, but they were getting closer.
  4. GM Lady Horus The man stared at Lady Horus briefly, not really believing his own eyes. "You're Lady Horus? Can you... can you stop this?" He was waving around some blank papers, quickly holding them out towards her. They were just that, blank papers. He was waving them wildly, seemingly not caring if he fell down on the way. "This is all the taxes! All the work! Everything, all the money trying to keep the city running! And its gone! Just gone!" Mister Strix, Doctor Thorne, Ronin and Wadjet The situation at Snacktastic were rapidly deteriorating. Another car was on fire by the time Doctor Thorne and Ronin arrived, and Snacktastic's security had begun to advance. As far as they could see, the building itself was all but empty. They could occasionally spot a guard looking out of a window, but it was a rare sight. The security forces seemed completely focused on the building riot outside the gates. Going through the front would most likely get them noticed, but any other locations might work better. So far, they were unnoticed, free to plan and act.
  5. Toughness Role: 1d20 + 15 = 34 Boom. Actions and IC post coming tomorrow.
  6. GM The troll stopped at the sight, utterly paralyzed. Its kin, burnt to pieces. So many dead, all at once. It was at a complete stop, simply staring at the sight. It made a confused noise, slowly moving forward. Lament was catching up now. He could probably get past it, if he hurried while it was distracted. Reaching out, it touched the dead bodies... only to have its hand pass through. That pissed it off. It roared loudly, turning to try and catch where Lament had gone. He would have passed it by now, if he had chosen to do so, and the lights were starting to go out behind him. The troll would have to hurry to catch him, but it might be able to, unless he did something!
  7. What will the troll do? 1-2: Fall to its knees in shock. 3-4: Try to touch the mound of bodies. 5-6: Go into a rage at the sight. 1d6 = 4
  8. Kidd was a cowboy cop, alright. Did he think that his life was just a big action movie? He had a point about them being terrorists, but still... they couldn't just kill them. Robin didn't want to kill anyone. That was part of the whole reason for making the Justice Buster non-lethal. It hurt, sure. But non-lethal. "My gun can probably take them out without killing them." she finally admitted to Kidd. We have to stop them, but we gotta at least try to do it without anyone dying. For all we know, they could be using that dynamite to go fishing."[/color] Alright then, time to face the music. She had to get out there and do something, before it was too late. Let Kidd say whatever objection he had to doing it without killing, then she would make her move.
  9. GM The troll hurled forward, sometimes using its long arms to support its run, much like an ape or a gorilla would. There were no trees that could support its weight to swing from, however, and no billy goats or bridges inside, so it simply trampled down the path that the lights were showing. It was a race, indeed: A race for a goal, for a price. A race for the children, it seemed. Then the Void appeared. It was as if the troll could sense it. Maybe a kindred spirit? While running, it turned to look at the oily black being that came hurling towards it. It pushed back against the Void, it would not be stopped so easily, and yet it stumbled, a single step, maybe two. Enough for Lament to get closer.
  10. Will save for the Troll: 1d20+6 = 25 Still, the troll is suitably startled by the visual of the Void, losing a step. You're slowly catching up, but it is faster than Lament. Just running won't be enough!
  11. Robin at least understood that they wanted revenge, and it seemed to be aimed at Blowfish. And Detective Kidd had made it more than clear that he didn't like Blowfish one bit either. She didn't like those dynamite sticks one bit, even if it seemed kind of cartoonish. Did people really use real dynamite sticks like that anymore? Wasn't there some more elaborate bombs or something like that? Deciding not to correct Kidd, since it wouldn't really help with anything, she looked over at him. "So... Dynamite sticks. Really?" It was probably around the time that they should make their presence known in here... even if she didn't like the five vs two odds. Stop this before it actually goes anywhere. "You know more about this sort of thing than me. Is there any chance they'll stop if you tell them they're under arrest? I know they're bad guys, but shooting to kill doesn't sit right with me... if you can even stop the Wall with your gun." Robin's Justice Buster might do the trick, but it wasn't like Detective Kidd really knew about it. She looked around the room. Maybe there was something she could use to try and get an advantage.
  12. GM The beast approached slowly, emerging from the mists. Somehow, Lament just knew: This was a troll. It was gigantic, with long, lanky limbs. From longer distance away, one might think its arm thin and frail, but this close, Lament could see its sinewy muscles. Its skin was light grey, its nose wide. Ears were long, stretching to the sides of its head. It was covered in a dark fur. Beneath its nose were a mouth with a strong underbite, a fang stretching out from the mouth to each side of its nose. Its eyes were small and dark. He could see no emotion in them. A long, hairy tail lashed behind it. Behind him, he could see the lights that would guide him to his quarry were beginning to go out. It was a slow affair. A light disappearing every 20 seconds or so. It would reach him soon, however, and if he lost those lights, then he would surely lose his path. The troll saw the lights as well. It smiled. A cunning smile, a smile devoid of empathy. Then it set into a run, in the same direction that Lament had been heading.
  13. Wow. How did someone like Kidd ever make detective? Robin just stared at Kidd in disbelief. This guy was just too much. First the Gas Man, now this? Why couldn't she ever team up with someone that was actually heroic and not just looking into causing trouble or stopping someone for their own weird reasons? "Way he looks, he could probably take a hit from your shotgun and keep going." Robin commented, looking over at the Wall. She had something better, at least. "Any idea what they're talking about?" It could be a lead. Jumping them like this here might not be the best choice. Five against two weren't great odds, and who knew how many others were there?
  14. GM The path through the fog was long, but at least the lights illuminated the path. The silence had lifted, just a bit. There were animals about now, as Lament was led towards a small forest. He heard a rustle, a stick that snapped. Something was coming closer. Something was near him now. Another snapped stick, to the left. He could make out a massive shape in the darkness, one that approached him slowly. How would he react? Another challenge on his way to Lament's quarry, perhaps?
  15. A Notice roll along the way, if you leave the Bog Wife. Feel free to post, however you follow the lights.
  16. GM The bog wife smiled. She stopped her brewing, even if just for a moment. A path started to clear through the fog. "I see. Perhaps you will do, bard. Perhaps you will do." The fog began to clear, just a little bit. But what was more important, and interesting to Lament, at least, were the lights that had begun to appear. Shining, light blue, stretching into the fog, farther than his vision would allow. "Follow the ghost lights. Do not stray from their path. It will do you no good." She resumed brewing, whirling the ladle in the cauldron. "But beware, bard. Your path might be short, but your ordeals are far from over. Be true, and you might succeed." She stopped, tasting whatever was in her cauldron. "Actually, no. Do not just be true. Be great. Be awesome. Then, you will succeed! And beware. There are other things in the Commons, far worse than me."
  17. I'm in! I'll decide on which character when I'm a bit more awake, depending on what you're looking for. Depending on reasons and such, Forever Boy might be a good fit for the adventure, or Dust Devil for the Magic Mesa sending him!
  18. GM The A.E.G.I.S. commander seemed unsure of what to respond to Asad. He seemed like he wanted to say something, before he just moved to the door and exited the room. A voice came a loudspeaker in the room. "Gonna open the doors now, boys an' girl! Get ready for a big drop!" It was obviously not the commander. Maybe the pilot. A door unlocked, and it was clear that the flight had moved lower. Opening the door would reveal that they were about 20 meters above the water surface, with the vessel simply hovering. Not a short fall, by any means, but nothing that either of the three heroes should have any trouble with. "Good luck, heroes. It's go time." The same voice as before. A much friendlier tone than the commander.
  19. "It's English. And I don't speak Spanish either!" Robin whispered back. No, she was not going to let that go, even if they had to be stealthy. If they had only be talking in some programming language or something like that, then she could have listened in. So, they were close now. Five people, one of them in a luchador mask. Should she take the first shot? Robin didn't like shooting without first giving a warning. It just felt wrong. She didn't want do do something like that, and not just because she didn't entirely trust Detective Kidd. Still, she gripped the Justice Buster close, and peeked up at the giant man. Looking over at Detective Kidd, she whispered her quick question. She wanted to be sure about this, before taking a chance. "Big guy's the Wall, right?"
  20. GM She chuckled again. There was something not quite human about the laugh. "You are a witty one, are you not, bard? Perhaps you will do." She stirred the giant ladle. She was slowing down. The fog was lifting. "I know who took the children. And I know why, though it is not my place to tell." Another stir. "Your wit appear to be true. You might be able to handle the challenge to come." Yet another stir. "But how far are you willing to go? Will you risk more than just your reputation? More than just your life?" Yet another stir. Lament was beginning to see something in the fog. Or rather, of the fog. Faces in the white fog. They were twisted, in pain and agony. "How about your eternal soul? Will you risk that, to save the children of people you will never know?"
  21. Wow, Kidd expected a lot from her, didn't he? First stealth field, now a zip line? What's next? A big honking instant cover wall? That might actually be an idea to implement for later... "No..." Robin's tone was a bit defeated. They had made it this far, but she really didn't want to get into too much trouble before they had a chance. "Just to make it clear: I got a suit that protects me, and I got a gun that shoots a kinetic blast. That's about it, right now. I'm working on a lot of things, but just because they aren't ready, that doesn't mean I should just let people like Blowfish, the Wall and Jackson do what they want, right?" That should hopefully clear up some of the capabilities, at least. So, down the shaft... or down the stairs, where they might bump into someone. Looking quickly over the shaft, she turned back and shook her head. "No way we'll be able to make it down there. Let's head for the stairs." Bringing out her phone, Robin made sure to mute the Justice Driver, before she entered the code to transform. No reason to announce their being here to everyone. In a moment, her red and gold suit had unfolded. Maybe not the most stealthy thing, but she could take hits better with it on. "I'll take point." Drawing out the Justice Buster, she moved towards the stairs, slowly starting to descend. Anyone showed up, she would be ready.
  22. GM The bog wife chuckled, as she stirred her cauldron. "Oh, was he now? I suppose that you would know, would you not?" At least, it did not seem that Lament being pleased with himself did anything to harm his stance with the woman of the bog. She seemed to contemplate his words for a moment. "Is that so, bard? Did someone steal the children that watched your performance?" She seemed to ponder her words carefully, even as she stirred her cauldron. A never ending motion, moving on and on, almost hypnotic. Only almost. "Do you fear for you reputation, if the mortals believed you to steal the children, now? Is that your purpose here, hmm?"
