  2. GM "We should all stick together, Miss Vueriz," Dr. Macedon quickly says, before any of the other students get away from her. She frowns as she looks around. It doesn't look anything like any of the stories that her grandfather had told her about going through the Magic Mesa, or the one time she had gone through it herself. "I'm sorry miss O’Connell, but I've only been through here once before, and we never really found out what happened, but we obviously did it because..." She turns and looks behind them. The cave they came through has closed. "... Yep, it's gone. It should open once we do whatever needs doing. The one time I got through this I got back to the 80'es, this looks a bit more advanced." She pauses and looks around. The park they are in seems eerily empty. They can't see any other people anywhere. "I don't suppose any of you kids got any powers that'd be useful for tracking down the last member of our little crew?" Carmen is as alone as the rest of her group, but she is too far away to see or hear them, even with her advanced senses. It is strange to see a park this empty, even at night, but then again, everything here is very different. The silence is broken by a horn, like an air raid alarm. She barely has time to react before an explosion cuts through the darkness not far from her. Statues like the one of Golden Star that she is standing comes flying through the air, apparently made from a material able to withstand the explosion. One lands right next to her, only barely missing. It is a woman that looks like she is dressed like the Raven. Further away, the rest of the group sees and hears the explosion, even if it is far more faint.
  3. GHOST Carrie stops in her tracks when she hears the voice behind her and then spins around, looking up at the woman that's barely a head taller than her with a questioning look, then looks at her father with a somewhat unsure expression. Casper looks back with a half smile and shrugs, before Carrie turns back to Lynn. "Carrie." She is obviously holding back, sounding reserved. "You're my dad's friend, right?"
  4. The STORMCROW "Don't worry about it, Mike," Charlie reassures him one final time. No reason to keep going at that particular issue. He doesn't comment on Iris' question about whether he's with Callie, Michael colors that just fine, and he has to keep some secrets from people he's only just met. No need to give anyone an idea that could link their secrets IDs too easily. "Yeah, I went to Claremont for a while," of course that under another last name and secret identity, in case Iris tries to look him up, "had to drop out before my last year, but that's how it goes. How about you? How's the school? The headmistress can be a pain, right?" He grins at Callie at the last line. Of course he's just joking.
  5. Spaceman Parker can honestly do without hearing the Deep Ones' songs, but at least he can put the whale carcass down now. He still doesn't like the entire scene, but it is getting better, at least. Michael kind of seems to have a good time, or do better than Parker is, at least. Something is approaching. He looks up in the direction, there's a silver ship approaching. Moving over to Sea Devil, he can hear that Lawrence has already seen it. "That's Atlantean?" he asks. "How are things between Atlanteans and Deep Ones?"
  6. Spaceman Parker honestly had no idea that Lawrence could do something like this, but, they did it. Together, he and Michael held Paradigm for just long enough, even if it had only been seconds, and Lawrence had given them a new ally. Not that it helps a lot now that he's been thrown back and is on his back next to Michael. "Yeah," he responds to Michael's statement about it sucking, but still, he smiles as he stands up. "But we did it." Not that they have any chance to revel in that short lived victory. Michael is already giving orders, which is good. They do need to coordinate, but Paradigm can be put to better use than carrying him around. Parker hopes so, at least. Still glowing with golden energy, Parker breathes in and lets go of his own power, directing it inward instead of out. "You need time, right?" he asks Lawrence, looking between him, Paradigm and Michael. "I'll go and try to distract the bad guy." He probably can't do much, but he'll try anyway. Setting off before anyone has a chance to tell him no, Parker heads straight towards the giant robed figure that is apparently behind all this. He has no illusions about being able to actually hurt them, but he can at least try to draw their attention. With all the force he can muster, he steers straight for the robed figure, only to be blocked by a force field, slamming face first into it Cursing internally, he pulls back and continues trying to strike. "I don't think we've been introduced." He hits it again. "I'm Spaceman. I don't like when people try to hurt my friends." Just keep the robed figure's focus. Do anything to try to distract him and give Lawrence time to do whatever he wants to do.
  7. Time to buy Lawrence some time, then! Gonna drop Parker's stunt and switch Space Movement Array to Flight, then fly straight for the big bad not!Time Trapper, which, as I've been informed on discord, has barrier around that Parker's senses can feel is there. And then I'm gonna punch it. It's stationary, so no attack roll, so gonna do a full Power Attack, for a DC30 Toughness save. 1PP dropped from the Super-Strength boost means I'm at +7.5 Super-Strength ranks, so +7 boost.
  8. Let's see if J'onn knows anything with some Galactic Lore: 22 There's probably still remnants or escapees of some of the older groups that J'onn's grandfather took part in stopping to unify the planet, but there's nothing specific I've decided on. Might even have been old enemies, like Kath'lana points out.
  9. GM The small bear floats over, like it is dancing in the air, until it finds itself in the middle of the group, where it stays, still holding the piece of paper, as the group discuss what to do, the scans necessary, what to do about it. They can all hear a faint murmur. Mumblings, like a distant voice that they can't quite hear. The moment Rex takes the paper, the voice comes through completely clear, like he just established a perfect connection. "Mom?.......Tesla?......Can anyone hear me?" a young woman's voice says, slightly garbled, broken slightly by static. The piece of paper only holds a single word, hastily scrawled down in black marker. HELP Rex looks at it briefly. His expression grows determined. "I won't fault anyone staying behind, but this just became a rescue mission. I'm going in there. Prepare for Z-Space breach."
  10. Rex Atom "No, I don't think it's the same bear... unless you dreamt of that bear?" Rex asks the Dreamer. He had read up on her and everyone else here, and what they can do. She could theoretically do that, but it would be too much of a coincidence. Even more so than the group encountering an anomaly like that before they have even formed. He agrees with both her and Raven, though, and glances over at some of the scanners. "You mind?" he asks the technician, as he looks over the readings. It is kind of what he expected. Close enough, at least. "The bear's absolutely saturated with Z-Space radiation." So, what then? Continue to play it cautious, or actually do something? With a slightly crooked smile on his lips, he returns the other bear to the Dreamer. "How about a leap of faith?" He reaches out for the bear, takes the piece of paper and turns it around to read it.
  11. GM Before they have a chance to go in, the door slides open and a blonde woman dressed in a white lab coat over a black dress shirt and slacks combo walks out, pauses for a moment, then promptly grabs Parker with an arm around his neck and starts playfully messing with his hair with her other hand. "Hey, bro! About time you showed up! You should've been here ages ago!" Her tone is playfully angry, and while Parker could probably get out of the grab, he doesn't. Without letting go, she looks up at the other students, like she is only just noticing them there. "Oh, hey! Welcome to the lab, I'm Tracy. You guys ready to do super science?"
  12. Spaceman "Maybe? Parker offers in response to Michael's question about awakening everyone's third eye or something like that. "I honestly wouldn't put it past Tracy. Some of her ideas are interesting." He leads the group through the building, using a combination of his memory and his enhanced senses. Once they're in an elevator going up, he can't help himself. "This place is probably the reason why I got powers. Tracy pushed some buttons, and my mom was hit by some strange radiation while she was pregnant with me." He doesn't know why he wants to tell that story, but it feels appropriate. "I kinda hope that she's gotten better at all this since then, but then again, she was three." The door opens, and Parker steps out, leading them towards a laboratory.
  13. Forever Boy The Forever Boy stares at Tun for a moment, while Diamondligt makes his choice in game, and Shooting Star decides to fight. "I don't know your audience," Pan says with a shrug of his shoulders. "Tell me about them, Miss Tun. Who are they? Humanity is easy enough, give them excitement and thrills, but something tells me that your audience is a bit more demanding, no?" "But perhaps I should join the lovely women in your area? That sounds kind of interesting."
  14. The STORMCROW "Don't look at me," Charlie says, holding up his hands. "I'm agnostic." Well, maybe no strictly agnostic, but he honestly doesn't know what he believes there. "Our kitchen," Charlie tries to correct Vik. "C'mon, it's not just my place. I really try to make that clear, don't I?" Looking back and forth between Bernie and Vi, he throws his hands up again. "Sure, but I'd like to point out that I'm the only one here that doesn't have some kind of super strength, so, y'know, maybe try to not hit me too hard in the face?" He is grinning anyway. Maybe this'll help lift Bernie's spirit a bit, not that he blames her. Still, he's more used to fighting with his staff than without, so maybe he should just focus on none of them taking his head off?
