  1. Initiative: 1d20+3 = 20. Think Ouroboros takes this one as he has higher Dex Bonus.
  2. Salvo "An actual kill would have given us all a headache. I wouldn't want to deal with Sea Devil's problem now in this place," Salvo replies to Justice, then looks up from the body at the darkness to watch the glowing red eyes all around them. Ouroboros directed their to a figure, canine in form, and Salvo stepped closer to the half-dhampir as he began to dispel the illusion. Salvo waited patiently, watching Ouroboros. A few seconds passed but still nothing happened. Still, the body lying on the floor a few feet away. Still, the oppressive darkness pressing at them from all sides and the ringing silence of a vast, empty temple. The red eyes hiding in the shadows still watched them. Salvo raised her hand and with an angry bang and flash of magic near Ouroboros' head, the scene broke. Energy lanced towards the canine form, searing it with the white hot being of Soulfire. The sudden barrage ended as abruptly as it began, and Salvo lowered her smoking hand to her side. She turned to Ouroboros. "You were taking a while."

  4. Somewhere in Malory Bay Sunday, May 17, 2020 A few minutes later It took some clever maneuvering and a continual screen of fog over Emerald City, but you found a natural embankment in one of the many small islands that dotted Malory Bay. In truth, the island was halfway to just a pile of rocks, but it served as a dry place away from the Alaynah's boat for the two of you and the professor to talk. The rocks crunched underfoot as the professor disembarked from the Red Summer. He turned back to the boat where Alaynah and her crew, along with the professor's belongings, waited on the deck. While the whole area was dark, backlit by the lights of the twin cities and the lightbeam from the nearby Malory Bay Lighthouse, Advay could see the bodyheat from Alaynah and Zach. The twin gargoyles were as cold as stone unsurprisingly. The Red Summer's crew stood on the deck awkwardly, both waiting for a decision and anxious to leave. Then Advay turned back to the middle of the island, to the two people who would have decided his fate. He knew there was no fighting if they both decided to take him, and so with a slump of resignation he plodded towards them. He nodded, putting on a brave face. "So here we are, all together now. I don't suppose you both have questions I could answer?" He chuckles weakly.
  5. Alright, looks like we have a consensus about what'll happen next. You two can continue to post IC, but we'll be skipping forward a bit when I do my next IC post.
  6. Salvo The hulking hero stalks toward the Deep One, and as her sabatons tread forward, a deep and menacing noise rumbles from her armored bulk like some overworked engine. Salvo ignores the Sea Devil's desperate defiance, and she stops an arm's breath away. They are of a height, smooth and alien black armor against her blood-red techno-magical plates, and Sea Devil can see her faceplate reflected on Salvo's own visor. Only when Salvo is close does one realize that she is laughing. "Then count yourself lucky the U.S. justice system holds no jurisdiction in the realm of Vhoka's Temple, Sea Devil, and that you travel with those with enough sense not to take you in." Salvo looks behind her, to Justice and Ouroboros, as if waiting for her companions to speak otherwise. Salvo turns back to Aquaria. "Given other circumstances and more legally-bound heroes, I would not want to guess the results of a stand-off. Speaking as a registered Freedom City meta-human and a member of the Freedom League Auxiliary of course." Salvo would reach for Aquaria's trident to push it aside, then afterwards would stalk past the Sea Devil, towards the corpse to begin her scans. "Now let us find out if you should add manslaughter to your rep sheet, and us as accomplices, were we hypothetically back in Freedom. Perhaps we should listen and destroy the body to hide the evidence after all." Again the laugh like a low, grating engine. The Sea Devil had repeatedly spoken of Vhoka's lies. Yet even guarded, the Deep One was shaken from the Deceiver's tricks. It knew a lot about them or perhaps this was merely unlucky happenstance. In the primeval temple, surrounded by darkness and the baleful eyes of creatures, Salvo knew where the odds lay.
  7. I'm going to roll Sensory Suite Array, Super-Senses 11. There's no Counters Illusion or Obscure, but it does have Analytical so Salvo might find some telltale sign to tell there is and/or pierce the illusion. Roll: 1d20+11 = 31. And it's a Nat 20.
  8. I'm going to use Skill Mastery on Intimidate for a 24 on it. Toughness Save: 1d20+15 = 33. Whew. And she's fine.
  9. Salvo Salvo whipped towards the beast that had leaped among them. Her head strained upward at the mass of savage fur and muscle, bristling with violence in every movement. Savagery made flesh. It towered over them all as its god's avatar and its howl reverberated through Salvo's armor, plates and gears shaking with the primeval magic that poured from the beast beyond werewolves. It was a predator made perfect and unholy. Yet, Salvo-Bellios was not a woman but a weapon, fear excised as the weakness of mortals. Her machine-body powered up and the metallic roar crashed in defiance against the beast. The Sea Devil bellowed as she leapt, spear in hand, and the war cries echoed through the temple in tortured disharmony. "Tear it out yourself, monster." Salvo slammed her arms together as Aquaria was pushed aside. Her voice boomed as fire grew within her, flowing through her armor's Soul into this dimension. "If you are strong enough." She felt it, the breaking point and she could no longer hold it within. "Back, Sea Devil!" A pillar of flame roared, unleased from her palms, and tore through the wet air towards the beast. The stone floor in its path was seared black with the intense heat. It was hellfire and it grew larger and more alive with afterimages of the damned. The fire crashed upon the beast like some hellish parody of storm waves.
  10. Free Action: Turn Weapons Array to: AP: Damage 10 (Flamethrowers; Extras: Area [General, Cone], Vampiric; Feats: Affects Insubstantial 2, Incurable, Penetration 4, Progression 3 [100 Feet per Power Rank]) {40/40} (Additional Descriptors: Infernal Magic) Standard Action: Fire Flamethrowers at the Werewolf. Area Attack.
  11. Initiative: 17 https://orokos.com/roll/861396
  12. Aquaria's warning of lies in her mind, Salvo followed the others deeper into the temple, her sabatons stomping on the stone floor as if to scare away the visions. "And sometimes you could find wonder without any form of horribleness," Salvo growls after Huang. "Yet I doubt primeval magic such as this one cares about any human-made concepts. They do as they do and it turns out horrible more often than not." Salvo looks towards Aquaria, leading them deeper into the tunnel. "Sea Devil might have the specifics for your questions, Justice." She shakes her head. Her snort at the almost-use of her name comes out like a crackle of static. "I'll be glad to leave this place sooner rather than later. I don't know how you tolerate extra-dimensional travel so much. It's all some form of ugly evil and horibleness. Where is the dimension of eternal puppies and when is the next threat that will lead us there, Chosen of Heshem?"
  13. Salvo Before Aquaria could reach the robe, a beam of unstable magic cut between Aquaria and the robe. Salvo's hands sizzled as she shut her weapon down. "Stop!" She stalked forward, the vision playing out in her mind. She glanced at the great stone maw, as if the temple's beast would appear between its jagged teeth any moment. "Careful, Sea Devil, all of you." "I don't need to repeat it, but this place is cursed and so is anything within its walls." The light behind her visor darkened, emitting a low glare on her companions all. "And this temple is malicious and aware of our presence. It wants to inflict on us the same fate as the cultists. I saw it as a vision, except it was us as the actors instead of these idiots. Maybe all that was shown to me were lies but," She waved at the bodies and pieces of bodies littering the floor around them. "Look for yourself how these cultists fared. Ward yourselves against malignant control and influence." Then she looked down at the torn robe, scanning it with her sensory suite. "This is not one of the cultist's dead here. Gaudier and more expensive, maybe it belonged to one of their superiors?" She looked up then, to the great maw and the sickening blackness within. "I think the answer is inside there. Something came from the maw and dragged the robe's owner into the depths of the temple. The cultists sacrificed them to Vhoka even as they killed each other. I saw this too."
  14. Yes, yesss. Cannibalism, not ominous at all. Though if it's a vampire and a Deep One eating a human then each other, it wouldn't really count, would it? Salvo will Take 20 on Notice to see what Aquaria has spotted. Does this also include the robe? What can Salvo notice about the robe too? Take 20 + Notice 10 = 30.
  15. GM "They're us," Salvo sneered as realization hit her. She flew backward and up, hovering on a jets of flames in the air as she took the four statues with her eyesight. Then she descended among her companions as Robin pointed out a way. Salvo followed. Her footsteps thudded through the damp and blood-sprayed temple floor. "What does Vhoka have to do with the concepts of time, Sea Devil?" Salvo's voice was reverbed deeply beneath the metallic rasp of her armor's speakers. "If time flows non-linearly for them, prophecy would let it know about us since at least when this temple was built. How many aeons ago was that? How many years has it had to know about us?" She paused, scanning idly at their surroundings before she continued with a shrug. "Or this temple is a party trick. Statues molded to the intruders' likeness as we passed the first gate in order to play mind games."
  16. 3HP, Blackstaff - Unharmed 1HP, The Dreamer - Bruised, Injured, Fatigued Alaynah - Bruised, Injured. Zach - Unharmed Mixnus - Unharmed Nixnus - Unharmed Advay - Bruised, Injured
  17. Salvo: 1 posts + 2 GM posts = 3 posts = 1PP Tail of Gold (1) GM: 1 posts = 2 GM posts (to Salvo) Fate of the Serpent (1)
  18. GM Alaynah clambered up the stairway to the main deck after regaining enough of her senses to stand without collapsing to the floor. Her ship swayed as only a ship could in the stormiest seas but she had seen the waters of Malory Bay retreating as The Red Summer was lifted in the air. She'd seen the sailors of the two Coast Guard cutters stare up in awe before they were quickly swallowed by fog, the golden-tinted waters too turning murky beneath them. The hero left in the deck did this like no storm could. What had that idiot Zach done? Her feet set down solidly on the deck and she swept her gaze across her boat, seeing The Dreamer strewn, legs splayed, across the floor and Blackstaff sitting beside her. Her mage with the obnoxious floral Hawaiian shirt he insisted on on every job saw her and clambered up from his prone position. Then a great flap of whooshing air cast a shadow across the whole deck. She looked up, only for her mouth to fall agape at the enormous monster that bore her ship in its claws. With trembling her hands, she grasped for her gun and raised it to The Dreamer. The girl caused this, far more powerful than Alaynah had imagined, but it could all stop if only... "No, no, no! Stop Alaynah!" Zach blocked her view, his hands waving in desperation. "She'll drop us all if we hurt her. Look how high up we are." Behind her, she heard the heavy footfalls of the twin gargoyles. They emerged from below decks, flanking her like pillars of stone. The professor was right behind them, holding a towel to his temple and chattering some obvious nonsense about how everything had turned dreadful. Alaynah ignored him and lowered her revolver cautiously. Revolver clutched in hand, she moved to the railing and leaned over the side. Wind whipped at her hair and not just from the enormous monster's flapping wings. Though the mist obscured some of her view, there was no mistaking the blinking lights of the city beneath them or the towers of steel and glass that emerged from the mist to greet them. They were flying through the city, faster than a bird flew and more massive by several magnitudes. She whirled to Mixnus and Nixnus and waved them away. "Gather the professors' equipment! Nixnus, the cash!" As to the professor himself, her one good eye swiveled to the small man as he stepped forward, clearly nervous as he called out to Blackstaff. "I s-s-say, my good man. This isn't part of your plan is it?" He chuckled, like a schoolboy on his first day of class. "Quite a roundabout way of going about the escape wouldn't you say? I'd hate to stumble on Air Clan in their domain."
  19. I'll roll for Salvo's Knowledge (Arcane Lore) to see if she knows the figures. 1d20+14 = 18
  20. I'm gonna trust you on that cause I'm at work right now without the PDF haha. Go ahead and post in the IC whenever you can.
  21. Yeah, based the boat on the PT Boat from Black Lagoon, which is actually a WWII boat. Okay, but are you okay with using up an Extra Effort for just one round? Mind, the River/Sea clan guys won't be able to chase you in the air and if you're moving them to the Forest Clan clearing, it'll take some minutes (or more than 1 Round) to get there even moving at 100MPH in the air.
  22. Salvo "So a beast did them in," Salvo replies at Aquaria's observations. "Then it's a good thing most of us are armored. There's no soft flesh to bite through. Even you're tougher than your pretty boy looks would get at, Ouroboros, and that's without your force field." Salvo followed Aquaria through the eternal waterfall, hovering as the Deep One jumped. Her fiery jets burned a way through the water and sent blood red steam clouds in her wake. Once past, she descended beside Aquaria. Her sabatons thudded heavily on the stone floor and she looked up at the four stone statues flanking the temple entrance. She knew enough to be on guard for hidden traps or statues ready to be animated. "Think they're important? What do you represent?" Salvo asked, bounding up with a roar in front of one of the armored forms. She reached an armored gauntlet out, weapons system ready to be fired at a moments notice. It did not answer her questions and she called to the others. "Whatever ancients built this place did so with intent in all their creations. But the entrance is there and it looks unguarded but be wary of traps and guardians!"
  23. Well, the PT-109 wiki page, which is how I imagined it looks, says it's 56 long tons. And since I'm at work and don't have the pdf, does Move Object allow you to lift it telekinetically or are you throwing the boat 250 feet in the air? >_> Blackstaff - No injuries Sure. I'll put up a summary sheet of the characters later.
