  1. "Canst count on me, Templar," Shadowblade replied. The big man made an EXCELLENT distraction as he opened up with that construct weapon against Unferth. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw Temperance's odd behavior, but she ignored it as she shadowjumped forward. She appeared for bare moments next to the freed park ranger, just long enough to say, "Allow me to aid thee, dear lady," and then Shadowblade and the ranger vanished once more with a slight sound and a puff of shadowy smoke. Shadowblade reappeared several hundred feet from the hilltop, back in the treeline. "Lady, I urge thee to conceal thyself 'til this battle be decided." She gave the woman as reassuring a smile as she could in the circumstances. "I swear I shalt return and render thee further aid."
  2. Shadowblade is going to follow CT's plan for now - teleport up to the park ranger, grab her and continue the jump with Turnabout, and get her as far clear as I can this round with my 400' jump.
  3. Shadowblade stood listening to Dr. Litwack's story with an increasingly incredulous expression on her face. This story just did not fit the historical record, even one when Hitler might have been removed. The USSR hadn't been expansionist during this era, and even at the height of McCarthyism, accusing someone like Centurion of being a Communist agent was incredibly odd. Still, if history truly had been changed... "Thy tale seemeth quite fantastic, good doctor," she said eventually. "I do not accuse thee of knavery or falsehood, but I fail to see how thy actions, however foolhardy and impetuous, could have brought this about." She gave him a very even stare with her odd, amber eyes. "Is there more thou art concealing from us? She turned to look at the other heroes. "And if he doth but speak sooth, how wilt we journey to 1923? Wilt our actions prove as foolhardy as this man's?"
  4. I say sneaky! But then, Shadowblade ALWAYS says sneaky!
  5. Know (History) - 14 I rolled a 2... Yeah, I'm going to go ahead and burn a hero point here to make up for that abysmal roll and get us some info! Rerolled result (with the +10 if less than 10): 30
  6. Shadowblade: >Abductions in the Cold - 2 >Never Did Run Smooth - 6 >Godwin's Law - 9 >New Ventures - 3 >Wiki Article
  7. I figure one of the patrols would have been responding to the sudden noise - intercepting them with a quick area attack from the roof of the right building.
  8. Shadowblade started as the Russian hero began his rather... direct approach to entry. "T'would seem our choice hath been made, friends. I shalt be on the roof, to look inside and to surprise these mercenary guards. Let us enter the fray!" She jumped down to the roof in faint puff of smoke. As the bombastic Russian bellowed his challenges in his native tongue, she moved quickly along the roof to the right side and glanced down to see a patrol of guards hurrying toward the source of the noise. She closed her eyes in concentration, then vanished from the roof. In a blindingly fast flurry of shadow-jumps and strikes with the flat of her blade, she intercepted the patrol and prevented them from interfering with Comrade Frost. With the right side of the building clear for the moment, she paused to see if the Russian had managed to force the door and enter the complex.
  9. Shadowblade frowned as she looked over the elder Dawson's service record. Atomic survivor? Campaigns in England and South America? Obviously, things have changed... she mused. She tapped the picture of the time machine operator to make sure her fellows had seen it as well. "This Leon Litwack might well possess the secrets we seek. I say that we sally forth and honor his home with our presence. Mayhaps we shall find answers." She looked at the other heroes inquiringly. "Unless you gentlemen hath a better plan?"
  10. Sense motive - a whopping 13 Initiative - 17
  11. Shadowblade gave a mental nod - Happanuk Hill seemed a likely fit to her, as well, from the reading she'd done of the area's history. And, what's more, she could picture the hill's location fairly well, thanks to her study of a few maps. "Happily, my friends, I believe that I can guide us hence. The hill in question doth indeed lie beyond the rim of our fair city in the forest of Wharton." She looked at the other heroes gathered about her. "I fear that my teleportation canst be somewhat difficult to track. I alone lack the ability to take wing, save for you, honored Fast Forward, and I know that merely keeping pace wilt present thee with no difficulty." She turned to Cobalt Templar and added, "If thou wouldst be so kind as to assist me once more, I shalt guide us to our destination."
  12. Stealth checks and notice checks as Shadowblade moves about outside the house. She'll be using her concealment in the shadows as much as she can, hide in plain sight when not. Stealth - 19 Notice - 27
  13. Shadowblade nodded and watched as Silver Magus's suit peeled up and away. Lacking any mechanism to allow her gear to look as inconspicuous, she resolved to keep to the shadows as much as she could. "Very, friend Magus. And if thou dost not perceive me at a moment, be sure that I remain nearby." She slipped out the door as silently as she could and took a quick look around - what had happened, after all, to the other people who had been in the house when that flash of time energy had washed over them? She shadowjumped to various vantage points around the house, keeping to the shadows and silent as she moved, looking for any clues or leads about this strange time.
  14. Looks like KD has it figured out with his awesome roll, but just in case, I'll drop one for Shadowblade, too. History check: 24
  15. Shadowblade had kept silent so far, letting the others take the lead in questioning the surprisingly helpful Hraesvelgr, but her knuckles were white as she gripper the hilt of her rapier. Her face beneath her mask and hood was stony, her amber eyes hard with barely suppressed anger. The way these... people were using their powers to destroy the innocent made her blood boil. But she kept her voice cold and dispassionate as she murmured, "Certain I am that Medea maneuvers for her own advantage, if her past be any guide." She also wondered how Saknussem's murder fit into all of this - did he know something and had to be silenced? She looked up at the trapped giant and followed up Stronghold's question by adding, "If thou wouldst be free of these sorcerers summoning thee up to serve as their lackey, Spirit, I entreat thee to help us find them."
  16. Shadowblade shook off the momentary disorientation as she took in the suddenly transformed living room. What on earth... she thought to herself as she took in the middle-aged man and his modest home. Then she looked at the TV and took in its droning message about the Genetic Purity League. Her mind raced furiously - they had, after all, been chasing a man from a working time lab... and Hronos had said something about the house blocking his chronal senses... "God's blood," she swore softly. She turned to the other two heroes and murmured, not wanting to wake the sleeping man, "Methinks we are not when we once were. Canst thou detect if we hath been transported into the past?" she asked Hronos hopefully.
  17. Shadowblade started in surprise at the hollow boom as the door unexpectedly slammed itself closed. That was... odd, to say the least, and more than a little sinister and intriguing. Her sharp ears picked up on Hronos's comment about the house being shielded from his esoteric senses and felt a slight twinge of trepidation ripple through her. If she'd had any doubts, they were gone now - this was definitely more than a simple car-jacking gone wrong. She gingerly tried the door, but it offered a surprising amount of resistance; clearly, she could not move it alone, and she let out a little frustrated sound. She turned and called back over her shoulder to the other heroes as she beckoned them forward. "Methinks the door wilt give way before our combined might, though I canst but barely affect it. We might also assay a more destructive approach, if you will."
  18. Shadowblade turned to the red-eyed Russian man and the other man in the slightly sinister armor and gave them both a sharp, welcoming nod - their appearance alone would be unsettling, particularly in a surprise assault like the Russian hero suggested. "Sooth, sirrah, though I confess that I but chanced to cross the path of the lady here," she said in answer to the man in armor. She turned then to Comrade Frost. "A workable plan, methinks, if thou art willing, my friend," she added as she shot Graft a quick glance. She turned back to the edge of roof and looked out over the compound again, her amber eyes bright in the darkness under her dark mask and hood. "But which door didst thou have in mind? Seemeth we art spoiled for choice."
  19. Shadowblade sketched a quick bow to the other heroes. "Tis good to meet thee all. I am called Shadowblade. The Templar here hath acquainted me with the particulars, and I shalt offer my aid in any small way that I can." She turned to the young woman Cobalt Templar had called Stronghold. "I admire thy bravery, milady, but mayhap thy plan risks too much unless no other recourse is left to us. I say we examine other options, ere we assay it." She sighed heavily. "Unfortunately, I fear I have no better suggestion to put to it; the hour of desperate action may well be nigh."
  20. Shadowblade had traced the rumors and whispers back to this facility, a compound of worn warehouses and prefabricated modules. She kept to the shadows as she approached and then began a wary circuit of the compound. She took careful note of the guards posted at the entrances to the alleyways, as well as the patrolling groups; she kept her distance as she scouted the perimeter and planned out the best way to infiltrate the site. Then, near the end of her circuit, she spotted a lone figure on a nearby rooftop, a figured garbed and hooded in dark blue. Something about her clothes and stance made it clear to Shadowblade that this was no member of the site's security force. The other figure looked to be surveying the complex she had just circled - perhaps someone else who had heard the rumors or whispers about this place? She shadow-jumped to the top of the building, careful to appear in the figure's line of sight - better safe than sorry, in her opinion. "Hail and well met, friend," she murmured quietly as she approached the other woman. "Thou art seeking knowledge of what passes here? If thou wilt, I would happily join thee in the doing." She sketched a quick bow, "Canst call me Shadowblade, milady."
  21. Figured I'd drop a stealth and notice check as Shadowblade moves toward the creepy abandoned-looking building. Stealth check: 35 (darn, what a place to drop a 20) Notice check: 13... what a cruel contradiction, Orokos...
  22. Shadowblade looked over at Silver Magus. "Bravely done in sooth, friend," she murmured. "Now, allow me but a moment, and I shalt reconnoiter forward. Or, if thou dost not believe such caution warranted, let us sally forth and press the thief with our pursuit." With that, Shadowblade stalked forward towards the open door, moving with all the stealth of a predator on the prowl. She vanished into the shadows as she approached the door and listened carefully for any sounds of movement or life inside the decrepit building.
  23. Shadowblade moved over to the Silver Magus and clapped him on his armored shoulder. "Bravely done, friend Magus, bravely done indeed!" She turned back to Hronos and asked, "As the honorable Vardalos remaineth in conference with his absent superiors, I propose that we give chase to this villain and then return as speedily as we may." She looked at the silver-armored man once more. "I observed that thou hath the ability to fly. I fear that I cannot, but if thou should but fly low, I shall follow thy course with all the speed I possess."
