  2. In order to make sure the Refs accurately count all your IC posts and award you the due amount of power points, please post with a list of all the threads in which your player character, NPC or sidekick posted IC this month (including the News forum). This topic will automatically close on the seventh day of the following month at Midnight EST. Also list any threads which you are GMing. GM posts count as double and can be assigned to whichever of your characters needs a 'push'. When you make your list, post a link to your first post for the month for each IC thread so we can jump right to it. When you start a thread, make sure IC is the first tag and topic prefix of the In Character thread, and OOC is in the first tag and topic prefix of the Out Of Character thread. It's not required, but additional tags including the major players and locations are viewed as a courtesy. Please list your threads in alphabetical order. Please clearly note any threads in which you are both player and GM/running an NPC. Please list your threads in a timely manner. Extending the deadline one week into the following month is already a grace period. If you've done any "extracurriculars" -- artwork, HellQ, 20 Questions, NPC, vignettes, guidebook pages, etc. -- please be sure to list them along with your active threads. For more information on ways to earn power points, see Character Advancement and Awards in the House Rules section of the Guide. Failure to comply with these guidelines may result in your post counts being postponed or skipped completely. If you missed the deadline, see this thread.
  3. Nicola laughed and tilted her seat back. "We know why they're not, and we know why you're not," she said, flashing a licentious grin at Anna. She settled her chair back on all it's legs and reached out to touch a finger to her girlfriend's lips. "Before you give me that tongue lashing I know you're eager to," she began, "there won't be any spreading beyond our guests." She looked back at Set and Sehkmet, eyebrow raised in question. Then she shrugged and looked back at her girlfriend before she took her finger off Anna's lips. The proximity to Set and Sehkmet, or rather their blood, was starting to affect her and the vampire felt a little flushed.
  4. "Oh, hey, Corinne," Abby said brushing her black hair away from her eyes and, with a deft twist of her wrist, tucking it behind one year. She made one final touch to the piece she had quickly drawn--the common room and it's current occupants, just rendered as cats--before setting the sketchbook and pencils onto a nearby table. "To your first question, yes I am detail oriented," she affirmed. She sighed, gave her squad mate a small smile, and leveraged herself to her feet and went over to take a look at the puzzle. Which also answered question two. "My parents had mixed opinions on the study of history," Abigail quietly offered, eyes sweeping across the puzzle pieces, snapping piece after piece into place in an almost mechanical motion. "It was my father's life," her voice hitched slightly when she mentioned her father. "But in my mother's opinion history was unimportant, superfluous."
  5. The Damage doesn't get past Abigail's impervious. Did you want to include some other effect to test Arcana against?
  6. Abigail Storm was off to the side, as usual, curled up in a chair with her legs tucked under her and a sketchbook in her lap. The young mage was dressed warmly, in jeans and an over-sized sweater, her shoes were off and tucked beside her chair while she drew. She looked up briefly to watch Ashley and Judy enter the common room, tracked their progress for a few moments and then turned her attention back to her book. She had debated with herself since the start of the school year, even talked it over with Veronica, but this sketchbook was going to be the special one. A collaborative chronicle of the Claremont year, or whatever anyone wanted to contribute.
  7. As the frigid blast wave rushed toward Arcana a barrier of arcane energy flared up around the mage. That barrier crackled with power, flaring a brilliant green as it blunted the worst of the Giant Krampus' attack, though some cold seeped through. Arcana cradled one rime covered hand against her chest, like it had been burned, but this hesitation was only for a moment. The embers drifting around her shifted and swirled, becoming crackling electricity that twisted about her form. She saw the dark elves making their way up to her and Masque, and she was going to have none of it. A crown of three flames floating above her head, she stepped toward the roofs edge and raised both hands to the heavens, lightning surging between them. When she brought her hands down there was a snarl of thunder as lighting crashed down the side of the dormitory. It arced, leaped, jumped and snarled itself around the dark elven minions of Giant Krampus before wasting the rest of its power on the ground below, melting the snow and glassing some of the dirt. She looked down at the dark elves, eyes glowing from under her hood. "We say no."
  8. Arcana is going to switch her Arcane Arsenal to Arcane Wave [Shapeable Area]. Gonna zippy zap the Dark Elves heading to the rooftop. Which is a DC25 Toughness save
  9. ABRACADABRA'd by Fox Arcana 7 PP to spend adjusting the Minor Mage. Skills: Sleight of Hand 4 (+6) [1PP] Feats: Equipment 3, Quick Change 1 -> 2 , Eidetic Memory , Fearless [6PP] Equipment: 3R = 15 EP Headquarters [15EP] (Toughness 15 [2EP]), Size: Medium (Huge Inside) [3EP], Features [10EP] (Concealed [DC +10], Dimensional Portal, Dual Size, Laboratory, Library, Living Space, Personnel, Security System [DC 20], Self-Repairing, Workshop
  10. DC25 Reflex Save vs Area Effect: 1d20+6 26. DC22 Toughness Save: 1d20+10 20, for a bruise. And last, DC17 Reflex Save: 1d20+6 26. Well, somehow Arcana is feeling incredibly nimble right now, let's credit Masque. Will consider next actions while at work, and will post when I get back.
  11. Chance nodded and then escorted Rosa out of his office and club, promising he'd be at the address provided within the hour, before returning to his suite to get ready. His outfit, the way he did his hair, and the light touch of cosmetics managed to transform the gambler into someone that looked like he had just a bit more money than sense. His accent shifted to something a bit more New Orleans, and when he arrived at the given address at the appointed hour he was ever bit the image of reckless gambler.

    True Sight

"Egypt sounds nice," Abigail said, casting a long and thoughtful look out of the coffee shops window. "I've never been, myself, but it sounds fascinating." She'd read a bit about Egypt, and seen some artifacts in her father's sanctum that she was certain came from that ancient land. But her guardians never allowed her to travel that far. "I've read about it, and my .. my father had a few objects that I suspect are from there," she confided to Veronica. "Maybe one day I will get to see it, and other places with my own eyes."
  13. Nicola laughed. "I'd like that," she said. "Maybe you can teach me some of those moves." It was only recently that the vampire took an interest in dancing, it tended to satisfy two appetites, though these days she had a partner that more than satisfactory. Prior to leaving Freedom City, which was preceded by hunting the Master across Europe, a convent, prison and homelessness she had no real time or reason to dance. "I just wanted something with a little, you know, energy, to kick this trip off right. We can put on old people music later."
  14. Masque's illusion helped Abigail more than she might realize. Not just concealing the mage from the defensive program, but ever since Abigail found herself 'inside' this construct she found herself semi-paralyzed by the conflict in self-image between her conscious and subconscious self. Now she could focus on what was going on which.. she didn't know. Yet.
  15. Nicola carefully watched the unexpected visitors, especially the exceedingly attractive statuesque one, and Anna could feel the tension in Nicola's thigh as the vampire readied herself for sudden movements. Maybe it was the blood smelling off, or the simple fact that one predator does not take kindly to another entering its territory, it's home, but these two old friend's of Anna's made the vampire nervous. Best not to show it, she thought. Until the sniffing. And the look that followed. Suddenly Nicola wanted to laugh, but instead she just flashed a fanged grin at Sehkmet. "I bid you welcome," the pale brunette said, quite warmly, "Please, enjoy the spread."
  16. Nicola placed her hand in her lap, covering Anna's own and gripping it lightly. She glanced over at her, blushing slightly before the conversation at the table caught her attention and she turned back toward it. "I've spent time there, in Freedom City, before I came here," the vampire pointed out. What she didn't say was that she left Freedom City not because she wanted to help Bedlam, at least not directly, but to bring the towns own burgeoning vampire problem under control at the behest of her king. And to track down the one that created her and kill him. "But she's right," Nicola said, turning her attention to Chromium. "And working in soup kitchens are important, good work that helps people who truly need it." That was the nun in her talking. Former nun. Whatever.
  17. @Gizmo Yeah, going to spend a Hero Point and reroll: Arcane Blast [Hero Point]: 1d20m10+10 29
  18. Abigail flickered out of existence, vanishing from the room she shared with Elizabeth, only to reappear well above the dormitory and her roommate. With a simple gesture her clothing ripped, shredded and ultimately transmuted itself into the regalia of Arcana while her fall to the roof below was brought below bone shattered speeds. Motes of light, like embers or fireflies gathered around the mage, and with an outstretched hand a narrow lance of white hot magical fire erupted forth, weaved past her schoolmates that were engaged in melee with the beast, and slammed into the Giant Krampus. She settled on the rooftop, and though her face was a black silhouette, she glanced at Liz and one glowing green eye winked.
  19. Doing something similar, and making it utterly complicated, for style points. Move Action: Teleport 100 feet straight up above the dorm. Free Action: Quick Change into Arcana costume, reconfigure Cantrip VP: Super-Movement (Slow Fall) Standard Action: All-Out Attack (+5 Attack, -5 Defense) and Power Attack (-5 Attack, +5 Damage) for with Arcane Blast: 1d20+10 17, DC 30 Toughness. Arcana has Precise Shot 2, so shooting into a Melee is no problem, the point of origin for Arcane Blast will originate from Arcana and will carry the descriptor of magical fire.
  20. Knowledge: Arcane: 1d20+11 27 Initative: 1d20+2 14 VP defaulting to her listed Obscure power.
  21. When one can conjure up or transmute one article of clothing into another, it didn't make much sense to own a great many clothes, or to pack a bag for trips. But Abigail did, and she was. It was, probably, the smallest act of rebellion against her own mother, who demanded the young mage did everything with magic, that she could do. She was looking forward to seeing her adoptive family. Kimber lived in the city, and Becky was in town fairly often to visit her wife but it wasn't too often that Daniel made his way south and Abby was beside herself in excitement. She had visibly perked up in attitude as the days marched toward Christmas, doing some damage to her stoic reputation. Abigail glanced out her rooms window at the precise moment the barrier crashed down around the Claremont campus. "Jams."

  24. Nicola is, one could argue, rather young for someone who is counted among the unliving. So, really, she wasn't much different than other twenty-somethings when it came to music. The vampire fished about in her coat for her phone, then paired it to the car radios Bluetooth. "Erica did right by you," she said, flashing a grin at Lucy, as the strains of Pendulum started to come from the cars speakers.
