  1. Past hour
  2. Let's see if J'onn knows anything with some Galactic Lore: 22 There's probably still remnants or escapees of some of the older groups that J'onn's grandfather took part in stopping to unify the planet, but there's nothing specific I've decided on. Might even have been old enemies, like Kath'lana points out.
  3. GM The small bear floats over, like it is dancing in the air, until it finds itself in the middle of the group, where it stays, still holding the piece of paper, as the group discuss what to do, the scans necessary, what to do about it. They can all hear a faint murmur. Mumblings, like a distant voice that they can't quite hear. The moment Rex takes the paper, the voice comes through completely clear, like he just established a perfect connection. "Mom?.......Tesla?......Can anyone hear me?" a young woman's voice says, slightly garbled, broken slightly by static. The piece of paper only holds a single word, hastily scrawled down in black marker. HELP Rex looks at it briefly. His expression grows determined. "I won't fault anyone staying behind, but this just became a rescue mission. I'm going in there. Prepare for Z-Space breach."
  4. Rex Atom "No, I don't think it's the same bear... unless you dreamt of that bear?" Rex asks the Dreamer. He had read up on her and everyone else here, and what they can do. She could theoretically do that, but it would be too much of a coincidence. Even more so than the group encountering an anomaly like that before they have even formed. He agrees with both her and Raven, though, and glances over at some of the scanners. "You mind?" he asks the technician, as he looks over the readings. It is kind of what he expected. Close enough, at least. "The bear's absolutely saturated with Z-Space radiation." So, what then? Continue to play it cautious, or actually do something? With a slightly crooked smile on his lips, he returns the other bear to the Dreamer. "How about a leap of faith?" He reaches out for the bear, takes the piece of paper and turns it around to read it.
  5. Today
  6. La Puma Negra It was getting more and more difficult to control herself as she pushed hard into moving, already somewhat panicked from being in the past and a certain person that shared a similar appearance to her. Then there was the invasion of the city itself, the issue of having to see the sheer terror and chaos that was around them as they fought back against the drones. To be here firsthand was different from reading about it in class, and as she bounded over towards Owain and the drone attacking him, Puma was going to make sure that everyone made it back to class in once piece, claws out as she was ready to pounce. "Raawwwrr!!" she let out with a bestial roar, slashing at another drone with a slash of her claws and a furious blow. Part of her had thought this was the intentions and doings of Quirk, but it was too real, far too real here.
  7. Multi-Girl "Well, Summer an' I met my first year after startin' down here, but that was her Senior year. While we got ta know each other that year, we didn' really have any plans fer a band then. But we stayed in touch after she graduated, an' made the decision ta try an' start a band just before the start o' this school year." Bernadette replied to the first question. At Thomas’ other question, the redhead has a sly smile. "Well, I think my family experiences had a bit ta do with it. But I also gravitated ta team sports at an' early age, eventually settlin' on Lacrosse until I came down here fer school. That is very much a sport where you need ta rely on everyone ta do their part. So it just feels natural ta me ta expect the same with the band, where everyone has an important part ta play."
  8. Timeout Lawrence gave Rev a small smirk as she mentioned needing to take it out for a test drive as she did the checkup. "Unless you are thinking some dunes along the shore, it will be a long drive to get to any deserts. And thanks for the offer, but I get by well enough driving, and not really expecting to have to engage in any sort of high maneuver driving someday. I am also mainly use a car to keep up appearances." The blond teen the focused over to Mizuki, smiling as she talked with Rev about what she might want in terms of a custom vehicle. The smile widened as she commented about a two-person submersible. "That does sound lovely." Lawrence grinned as she turned her thoughts to space and how it was like another ocean. "I think I have been saying that for a bit now. If nothing else, think of all the worlds that are almost entirely nothing but water that are out there."
  9. Paradigm La Puma's attack slashed across the large alien’s chest, causing it to stagger backward before dropping momentarily to its knees and the falling forward to the ground unconscious. Not far away, one of the Justicar’s climbed back to his feet, raising up his weapon and aiming it at La Puma Negra. A blast of energy lanced out towards the teen, but suddenly Star Khan was between her and the attack the blast striking the chest plate of his armor and glancing harmless off. Over where she was still facing off with Sovereign, Paradigm looked up at the larger alien. "You have escaped justice for far too long. Like the old Star Khan, you should have learned from the cooperation that allowed for the defeat of the Communion, instead you went back to trying to take what you wanted by force alone. That stops today." The Praetorian swung a left hook at the large alien. WHAM The blow struck Dovox solidly, twisting his head to the side as he was sent flying backward. But Paradigm flew right after him, her right fist coming down to strike Dovox once again. WHAM A second powerful blow slammed the self-styled Sovereign down into the pavement, smashing a small crater and sending bits of concrete flying in all directions. Paradigm hovered over the small carter, where Dovox lay unconscious. Over where he had just intercepted the blast intended for La Puma Negra, the young Star Khan scowled at the traitor Justicar. Bringing up one of his armored gauntlets, Star Khan fired a powerful energy blast at the Justicar. The attack slammed squarely into the Justicar’s chest, knocking him from his feet as he dropped his force pike and he landed a short distance away, also unconscious. Not far from Predator, the large Boran that she had knocked down managed to climb back up to its feet, although it seemed rather unsteady as it stood back up right, raising its sword. Meanwhile, the Boran that had been fighting Golden Star moved after the teen, raising its large axe over its head. 'AAARRGGHH!" The alien yelled as it brought down the axe at the teen. But then suddenly Paradigm was between him and the alien, easily catching the blade of the axe on her left hand and stopping it mid-swing with ease.
  10. Justicar Har'al will use his move action to get to his feet, then he will fire an energy blast at La Puma. Star Khan will Interpose, with the attack hitting, but glancing off his Impervious. Paradigm will punch Sovereign: hitting with a 28, DC 32 toughness save: 19, which is staggered and dazed), she will fly after him, surge and hit him again: another hit, another DC 32 toughness save: 17 a KO! Star Khan will shot a blast at Justicar Har'al: hitting with a 27, DC 29 toughness save: 13, another KO! The Boran Lt near Predator will get back to his feet (his only action) The other will follow after Golden Star and try to hit him: Paradigm will Interpose: 23 hits her, but bounces off her Impervious. @Spacefurry Praedator is up!
  11. using Inventor to make a tracker device here is a valid use; it's not going to use the exact Inventing rules, instead we're just making a single Craft Electronic or Mechanical roll- which can also have Aid applied so you can work together-, and success means getting better results that will require less calibration and thus less sneaking around in a Dennis Deacon infested town/municipal area. Obviously you could intentionally take the failure to require the maximum amount of calibration and get a HP each instead.
  12. (GM Post) "Interesting..." Shine said, frowning. "So some sort of electronics...that does explain why there have been electrical problems as well; so this really is a multi-pronged epidemic, a physical disease changing from person to person, and some sort of electrical problem. Combined, if it swept across the county, or the state, it could cause severe destabilization. This might be the start of a terrorist or extra-terrestrial attack, at this rate." The Agent muttered, looking between the gathered heroes. "You can take whatever you need from this train to see if you can build some sort of tracker to find the source of this and take it down before it spreads any further. We can stay in contact as well and if you need heavy firepower, we can scramble a jet to bury something in firepower." she looked at a screen, then at the bodies in the containers, and shuddered a little. "We'll be hitting the last stop before Woodbury in a few minutes. If you need to keep looking at these corpses you can, but as soon as you're done I'm going to incinerate them. As soon as you're ready we'll send you out to try and find the source and set it down."
  13. Okay, Bruiser has +4 to hit because the probot is prone, +6 from Bernadette and her duplicate's aid actions. He will full Power Attack -5 ak/+5 Dam, getting a 30 on his attack roll. That is a DC 31 toughness save for the probot: 19, which makes it Disabled and Dazed!
  14. Diamondlight was carefully winning at poker. He was one of the most skilled gamblers in the entire universe, after all! A robot just trying to figure things out couldn't match up to him, at least not at first. But it was getting better. It was using every hand played, not just by the light manipulator, but every person playing against her, to increase her own skill at the game. "Hrmm, this is very interesting!" she mumbled. She gestured to one of the cameras using a spare hand and it seemed to cut away from Diamondlight's table for a moment. "Alright, let's get you a confessional here, you're getting a bit of ratings buzz, you and uh..." she pulled up an electronic screen momentarily. "I think their name in your tongue is Ziz? One of the Titans Three." she pointed over to a bird like alien at a far table. "So let's get you two set up; if you keep winning maybe we'll get you two on the same table in a few rounds, throw a little trash talk, stuff like that." she says as one of the drones pulls a bit closer to Diamondlight. Through camera tricks and twisting, it reflected a screen back showing Diamondlight at the table, by himself, the spotlight focused on him. "Alright, When the counter hits 0, the camera will swap to you. You're gonna be directly on camera, so talk about what you're here for, any family members or some heartstring tugging, that sort of stuff. Play up the emotion, or the smugness; make them care for you. The better you act, the more people either love or hate you, the more challenge and spotlight I can give you." Meanwhile, the other Tun was handling Mz. Grue, Shooting Star, and Pan. "What the Sprigori care about, hrm?" she thought as she looked at Pan and the other two. "Well. They truly care only about entertainment, but they're quite bad at it. They made AIs like me and my competitors to try and have good entertainment. They live somewhat similar to you humans in family structures, but their entire lives are handled by automated robot helpers powered by the infinite energy of their sun captured in a Dyson Sphere. My unfounded assumption is that the reason they were able to surpass human ingenuity was that they never developed the concept of entertainment; they never relaxed, never paused, until there was truly nothing left to do. And then they needed something to do afterwards. Thus it lead to the creation of me and my 'family'; all their entertainment delivered by AI, for them. If your ratings drop, you start losing viewers, then they start cutting your power. I was born at the end of a dying network, and thanks to Uearth's video games and sports, I've become the highest rated network on the grid. Which means the others are all constantly after me. So I must constantly be better, lest they take over from me and I starve to death." She said all this with her same cheerful, happy tone. Even talking about her possible terminal ending did nothing to stop her positivity, or maybe her insanity. "They do like violence, but they also like stories. They're not very creative, so sometimes you have to do the thinking for them, if you know what I mean; that does mean you can sort of...lead them on, story wise. If you lay the ground work, they'll follow along with it. But you still have to tell a good story. They're not really that different from humans in the macro; you all like the footballs and the gambling, right? They're the same way. They don't want to play, or gamble, but they want to text their friend and be like 'oh I could have done this so much better!', you know what I mean? Even if it's just a poor girl fighting for her family." she grins at Shooting Star. "Or an Alien making her grand debut on the stage." she looks at Mz. Grue. "Or...something else!"
  15. Multi-Girl Iris's mental blast caused the Omegadrone to rear violently back at the sudden pain. Then it dropped out of the sky to crash down onto the pavement below. Bernadette’s duplicate looked up at Bruiser with a small smile if he asked if they were twins. "Somethin' like that." She replied as she quickly brought her legs up and then performed a "kip" back up onto her feet in one quick motion. "Sounds like your boss wants us ta try an' tear this thing apart." She added, before leaping over near the giant robot that was starting to try to push itself up off the ground as the original Bernadette moved over as well. The two identical redheads both were on either side of the robot’s neck, reaching up to grab at the joint of the neck and the torso, managing to dig their fingers in between the metal. Both started pulling as hard as they could, bracing one foot up on the shoulders of the robot to give them more leverage.
  16. Cerebral After seeing her brother and Archer make that massive drone fall, that gave her courage again. If they could do that, then she can stop panicking and help damn it! The young woman would look around before noticing one of the Pikes close to her. She also spotted an Omegadrone flying above them. She would narrow her eyes and take a deep breath rushing out and gripping one of the pikes before spinning around to stare at the drone. She focused on it and an extremely faint purple wave shot out towards it, infecting it's mind with intense pain. A Mind Blast!
  17. That drone fails its toughness save, so it goes down. You can make your IC post if you can now (even if it is slightly out of order). Thanks!
  18. Puma is going to launch herself over to the drone going after Owain and take 10 on her attack (seeing as how her claws are just gonna mark the paint on the big one XD)).
  19. Okay, while we wait for Draco's IC post, Bernadette and her duplicate will go over to the giant robot and make an Aid Action attack (both will accurate attack -2 dam / +2 atk) Duplicate: 21 Multi-Girl: 16 Both succeed, which will give Bruiser a +6 on his attack on the giant robot. (the base +2, with an additional +1 due to Teamwork) @MoonSimply You are up!
  20. As discussed in chat, without the Power Attack feat, you are limited to -2 atk/+2 dam (and you need at least +6 attack anyway to be able to Take 10 to hit it anyway). So, DC 25 toughness save, and it fails! So it goes down!
  21. Starshine Seeing that her previous attack had not affected the giant Omegadrone Rosalind gathered up all the energy she could, to the protest of Bracelet and dimming of her aura to almost nothing. The burst of power was an impressive flash of light, though when the smoke cleared the bot seemed completely unharmed unless it really cared about a few scratches and a ruined paint job. "Well poop!" was all she could think to say.
  22. Alrighty! Kazra Initiative Results 1d20+7: 26 [1d20=19] Kazra Stealth Results 1d20+15: 34 [1d20=19] Esquire Initiative Results 1d20+9: 21 [1d20=12] Esquire Notice Results 1d20+14: 32 [1d20=18] Drones Initiative Results 1d20+5: 13 [1d20=8] Drones Notice Roll: Results 1d20+8: 12 [1d20=4] So Esquire spots everyone except Kazra, while Neko, Daniel, and Lawrence are all hidden from the Drones for now. Neko: 28, 1HP Kazra: 26, Staggered, 2x Bruised, 2x Injured Timeout: 21, 4HP Esquire: 21 Drones: 13, 6 of them Iris: 4 2HP Daniel: 4 @Avenger Assembled it is Neko's turn. You have a rough idea of where Esquire is since he isn't exactly hiding himself, and the Drones aren't hiding either.
  23. As the group settled on branches, prepared for a battle, the drones swept up and around, beeping and chirping. They flashed an alert when they happened to find Iris, starting to circle around her. Meanwhile, from a few dozen yards away, there was the sound of a bolt being pulled back. "Tech-No. The hangers-on are here. Hotshot, get back around here. And release TOG 1 and TOG 2, we're gonna need the big guns here." He kept the same stiff upper lip British accent, even as he prepared for combat; ready to go. Whatever was being sent back to him wasn't heard, since it was an ear worn communicator. But there was no reason to doubt it was happening.
  24. (Golden Star Post) "Yeah...Isn't that the truth." Michael agreed. "It's not a big deal that she's leaving, but the fact she just heads off on her own without telling anyone and sometimes doesn't come back in time for class is concerning. She's...well she deserves better than that. And I want to help her but maybe you're right that I'm just pressuring her too much, instead I should just let her handle it her way...I've actually been pretty lucky finding great friends like you two, and I think she's struggling a lot more." he said, smiling at both of them genuinely. "And...yeah. We've been...arguing lately. We used to only pick at each other but we've had actual arguments. When we got back from 'Vacation' we had a yelling fight; she was mad she didn't get to go, I was exhausted from the fact I had to help hold down Paradigm, among all the other things that happened, and her complaining that she 'didn't get to go' made me angry for a moment. I shouldn't have lashed out at her. I apologized for it, but I still feel bad for lashing out. She just wanted to be involved." He noted, frowning. "Plus, I don't think she's getting along with her squad, the other three are excluding her apparently." He shook his head. "Sorry, I'm dumping garbage on you two that isn't even mine to share. I just feel bad about it." he stomped his foot. "Honestly, I could go for a fly or a swim myself. Maybe we should all head down to the pier? Might be nice to do some night flying or night swimming, respectively."
  25. He's a real talker, thought Ashley critically. She didn't really care for big talkers. She remembered her first real boyfriend and how charismatic he had seemed, before he'd started talking about how she needed to put her career on pause so they could make some beautiful Asian babies together. (Tyler had been white himself.) It had been her first hint that if a boy was interested in her, it was maybe a sign she should feel him about about things first. Well that's probably not going to happen here, she thought before making a note to make up the thought to Carmen later. "Better to keep it to codenames," she agreed, unhesitatingly backing Carmen's play the same she'd backed hers. "You never know who might be listening, or watching. Glad you like her. I think pretty highly of La Puma Negra myself," she said with a smile, before saying "Well then - our public awaits." Traveling with the Patriot was something Carmen was used to by now, though not usually with so many people. Once everyone had their costumes or lack thereof on, with a little touch-up help from the Patriot's team, it was time to meet the new mayor, the general managers of both teams, and a little boy named Destin who had won a contest so he could shake hands with the Patriot. The Patriot played along with all of them, even arm-wrestling with the very excited Destin, who from his homemade costume was obviously a huge fan. La Puma Negra and Golden Star got introductions, Michael obviously being introduced as La Puma's +1, and there were many of the usual questions for both of them, many of them about their romantic life. Ashley watched the teens, keeping her face as cool and professional as she had in a Secret Service uniform, ready to jump in conversationally rather than physically before anyone said anything awkward. It wouldn't be much longer before the kids would be in their seats and she'd be ready to throw out that first pitch. She lied to the face of the journalist who asked her who was rooting for, telling them with a smile that the Patriot doesn't take sides. (This was a lie, of course she was rooting for the Nat.)
  26. GM The shockwave sent the soldier-goons flying, ears ringing, weapons firing chaotically (sometimes blasting each other). Scientists held onto their thick glasses as they slammed into the concrete, white coats flapping wildly, occasionally tearing. Lights cracked, sending glass tinkling to the floor. Predictably, as befitted the base of General Sparks, they sent sparks to the floor. A few hit the overturned tables and the scattered papers, lighting small fires. All in all, Golden Star had completely cleaned out the bottom floor! And the tower? The tower was groaning. Cracks appeared in the concrete. And above, Cerebral could feel the tower wobble...
  27. Thats fine - it will clear out the ground floor! Cerebral - UNharmed 3 HP Cerebellum - Unharmed Golden Star - 1 HP
