Charlie could be a model if she tried. She has narrow features, high cheekbones, full lips and wide piercing eyes set in a heart shaped face. She’s tall but is a little too addicted to ice cream to lose the curves that she’d need to drop for the runway. Her preference for make-up is usually more natural on her cheeks and bold and dark around her eyes. It’s in stark contrast to her hair which is naturally blonde.

It’s kept short and is a three inch wide stripe of blonde hair that runs from her forehead to the back of her neck. The sides are completely shaved and combined with the barbell in her eyebrow, the stud through her tongue and the hoop on her lip, she’s not the type of girl to work your average nine to five. Roughly more than twenty percent of her is covered in tattoos. A half sleeve on her left arm, some on her chest and more on her legs. Among these are a bat, a zombie, a wolf, a bloody flower, stars, a skull with a mohawk, a cute penguin and a tattoo gun.

Tank tops, ripped jeans and combat boots are probably the most worn items in her wardrobe regardless of weather. Well, aside from this frayed sleeveless hoodie number that she thinks she looks pretty awesome in with the hood up. Actually, she’s fond of things with hoods, including the one jacket she will wear in the winter: A leather jacket lined with a built in hoodie. She likes to wear dark and neutral colors to contrast the bright ink on her skin and most of the time her wardrobe is a little subdued.

The closest thing she has to a costume is what she wears under her clothes. A matching pair of shorts and what looks like a skin tight tank top. Both are made of a stretchy black material that can stretch to almost twice its normal size. Actually, upon closer inspection both are made of morphic molecules, an item she managed to acquire with use of the good old internet. Her increased bulk when she transforms tends to rip through her normal clothing, leaving her with little to nothing covering her. This isn't a problem in her transformed state, fur covering all the bits that may raise eyebrows. The problem arises when she needs to change back. The morphic molecules react to her body's chemistry and whatever force causes her to change, adapting and merging with her body. This allows her to change back on the fly if needed without ending up naked on the street.

Power Descriptions:
Charlie’s powers aren’t flashy, at least, not in the sense of it being in the form of energy or shiny lights. Though when angered her eyes can glow and during her transformation they tend to glow a bright and vivid shade of green and maintain a similarly vivid color as long as she is in her alternate form.

Transforming usually only takes a few moments and is normally painless. It starts first with the glowing of her eyes, the elongation of her teeth and nails. Then her limbs and bones shift, face elongating, muscles growing, a fine layer of blonde fur sprouts over her skin, longer on her head shoulders back and chest. She sprouts a tail, claws, and soon her transformation is done.

In her hybrid form she stands only a few inches taller than normal, her limbs having elongated in the transformation. The shape of her head is very wolf like, big pointed ears atop a very lupine face with a snout full of sharp teeth. Between her ears and running down the back of her head is a longer mane like strip of hair that mimics her mohawk. Her chest and shoulders are covered in fluffier longer fur that trails down her spine. Her larger hands are tipped with sharp claws and her physique is much more muscular and dense. Her legs are shaped much more like a wolf than a human, her back feet having turned into paws and now moving on tip toe like a wolf.

Her wolf form is exactly that. Only like her hybrid form, her relative size doesn’t change, meaning that while the form is nearly identical to your average wolf, it is much larger. The only thing that would give it away are those bright green eyes and their tendency to glow.

In both forms her coloring is blonde and white. It starts darker on her back and head and going to white on her stomach and near her hands/feet/paws.
History:
She was born Charlotte Angela Teague in the bathroom of a cheap motel in some Podunk town in Ohio. Charlie’s mother was here on a student visa from Denmark., going to school at Ohio State. Halfway through her sophomore year she fell in with some bad people, started getting in trouble. Failing her classes and slacking off. Her visa got revoked, but she refused to leave and within a year she was pregnant. Charlotte didn’t start school until the she was eight years old because her mother didn’t want her to go. Being illegal in this country, her mother couldn’t get a real job. She had to resort to whatever income she could. She often relied on boyfriends and lovers to pay for the rent and for food.

These relationships never ended well, often requiring the cops to be called and the men, or even sometimes her mother being hauled off to jail. She couldn’t take it, felt like she was suffocating. So finally, when she was sixteen, Charlie dropped out of school and ran away. She never looked back.

Part of her wanted to find her real father, but she was too young to remember him. She only has a name, and the knowledge that he’s the one who named her Charlotte. Maybe that’s why she hates the name so much, why she refuses to use it and goes by ‘Charlie’ instead.

Casting aside the name Charlotte, Charlie set out for heart of Freedom City. A place she was told was safe, guarded and patrolled by heroes, people with extraordinary powers. A place she thought would be better. There was no hero there the day she was mugged, ending up penniless and broke. She was forced to the street, picking up the bad habits that anyone in her situation would be hard pressed to avoid. It was only by luck that Charlie got out of it, caught tagging a building with graffiti not by a cop but by the owner of a local tattoo shop, Jack. She doesn’t know why he took a chance on her, not at first. Didn’t know why he gave her a job sweeping floors and a cot in the garage to keep her off the street. Eventually she found out that he’d been there, on the street, barely remembering who he was let alone where he was going to sleep that night. It’s a scary place to be and Jack saw a chance to help the same way someone else had helped him.

It would take a few years before Charlie would move beyond just a sketchbook and answering phones at the shop. In time her skills improved, her art got better, and eventually she started to tattoo. She made her rooky mistakes, but let them improve her skills, getting better and better until she could pull her weight around the shop. Some of her old habits never left, expensive ones, but for the most part she kept herself together. She became known for doing tattoos that were both morbid and cute: brightly colored and with splashes of blood or gore.

Things were good until her partying started to get out of control. Too many nights spent doing things she would regret in the morning. It was nearly a year ago that she had a very rude awakening. Charlie flew to Luisiana with a few friends. Four days of Mardi Gras and all the partying she could handle. People lined the streets with drinks in hands. Beads and dancing and colorful masks were everywhere.

Then the night dissolves into nothingness. She woke up alone and naked, huddled at the end of an alley with no memory of the previous night. The last thing she remembered was being in a crowd of people. Everyone was partying and dancing. So was she, with a man. Tall and broad shouldered, he was shirtless and built like he stepped out of a magazine. She couldn’t remember his face. Only the mask he wore. Pointed ears, a long snout, grey fur. It was a wolf.

The image unsettled her and Charlie did what she could to push it out of her mind. She had bigger things to worry about, like where her clothes went and how she was going to get back to the hotel. Thankfully she was able to explain her situation to a police officer and not get arrested. The officer agreed not to arrest her only if she went to the hospital to make sure everything she was alright. She agreed. Arriving at the hospital and explaining the situation. Everything checked out fine and finally Charlie called her very worried friends. No one knew where she had gone. Only remembering her dancing with the mystery man and then…. They both had slipped out of the crowd and disappeared.

That missing night stayed with her, a constant nagging sensation on the edge of her memory. Like she needed to remember, there was something important hiding there. Something that she couldn’t avoid yet always just out of reach. After coming back from Louisiana she settled into her normal life. Tattooing at the shop during the day and partying at night. Only it wasn’t the same. She found herself less…. interested. Sure she wanted to drink and party and have a good time, but something was different. Many of the things that normally kept the party going were unappealing to her, turning her stomach just from looking at them. Like she could feel the damage she’d done to herself over the years all at once.

Part of her wondered if she’d grown past her partying days. Maybe that morning in the alley was enough of a shock to her senses to finally stop her self-destructive behaviors. Except what were those nights that led to her waking up on her balcony? Naked, passed out like she’d spent the night partying only feeling better and more refreshed than she ever remembers feeling. It wasn’t all the time, once every few weeks or so.

She went on like that, unable to remember what happened in New Orleans but needing to keep moving forward. It was hard to ignore, like a shadow looming but she did her best, even getting a little bit of accidental promotion for herself and the shop. Her friend TJ is the drummer in a rock band and Charlie makes a point to go to every show she can. Not only to show her support but because she likes their music, in the same vein as Halestorm or Korn. It was a good show and afterwards she got to go back stage and hang out with the band. A magazine was there, took a few pictures, even asked her a few questions.

They ended up printing an article about the band. Talking about their upcoming CD and how hopes were high that it would go national. They even mentioned her, she got a quote in the article and they mentioned the shop she works at. She saw it as good publicity for the shop. Only a few weeks later this guy started hanging out outside the shop. Tall, muscular, a crop of shaggy dark hair over a handsome face with deep set eyes and a stubbled chin. He’d be attractive to her if he wasn’t give off the biggest creep vibe she’d ever felt. He unsettled her, made her uncomfortable, to the point that she had one of the guys at work start following her home. It didn’t matter. One night after a night with friends, she was unlocking her door when she heard a noise behind here. She turned, to find him there. Close enough to share breath.

When he spoke, it was like a switch was flipped in her mind. It took her back to New Orleans, Mardi Gras, that night she couldn’t remember. It all came rushing back. Leaving the crowd with this man. Heading across town to a place just a packed full of people. All dancing and celebrating and then…. Things got explicably weird. There were fangs and howling and some sort of ritual….

The man’s name was Kade. He wasn’t there to hurt her. Quiet the opposite, he was there to invite her back to the pack. Back where she belonged. That night he’d turned her, made her more than human. Only after it was done she freaked out, and ran faster than any of them could keep up. They lost her and after a year of searching he had found her again. She belonged with him, with the pack. At least, that was what he told her.

Charlie didn’t agree. It was all too much. There was no way it could be real. No way it was true. She couldn’t be a werewolf? She would know if she was something like that wouldn’t he? Kade didn’t leave at her refusal. That night, he helped her, skeptical as she was, to change for the first time by her own will. It was only later that Charlie realized why she would wake up on the balcony of the night of the full moon. Once changed, her instincts sought what was comforting, familiar. The two of them ran through the park, spending the rest of the night sprinting through the trees and chasing deer. By morning they were back at her place and he tried again to convince her. Only now that she understood, Charlie stood firm. Her place was here, in Freedom City.

Surprisingly Kade left. No argument, no hassle. Leaving only a warning that “In time, you will understand.†It seemed all rather dramatic to her but then again, she’s a freaking werewolf. Nothing is normal for her anymore.

After that night Charlie saw her life from a new perspective. She did her best to clean up her act. Staying away from the hard stuff and seeing this as a change to be something better. She started focusing more on her art and less on where she could go to party. Sure she still goes to concerts and has a good time, but she’s turned the dial down from eleven.

Personality & Motivation:
Werewolves aren’t your typical heroes, more often thought of as the bad guys. The problem with that is that Charlie doesn’t feel evil or bad. In fact, she feels like a better person for it. Sure people are going to ask a ‘monster’ for help, but that won’t stop her from giving it. The way she sees it, the fear is a good thing. The idea of some dirt bag peeing his pants because of her just makes her smile, a big toothy werewolf smile.

On a more personal level she is focusing more on her art now than ever. Working on her technique and trying to become a better tattooer. She still focuses on the creepy but cute side of the world, but she’s broadened her horizons and working on more gothic and realistic pieces as well. Some day she hopes to be able to open her own shop. Make a name for herself.

Powers & Tactics:
Aside from her transformation, she has little in the way of flashy powers. Unfortunately for the other guys Charlie is no stranger to hand to hand combat. She’s been in more than her fair share of barfights and as a single woman in the city, she’s had taken up kickboxing for self defense and fitness. It’s something that has become invaluable when combined with the enhanced strength and claws of her hybrid form.

She usually closes into melee as fast as possible, sometimes even recklessly because of her ability to heal. She’s able to shrug of bruising without care, letting her press on when someone else would have taken a step back. If surrounded or fighting multiple enemies in her wolf form she’s liable to howl, hoping to instill fear and possibly cause her enemies to flee. She is a predator after all, what predator doesn’t enjoy a good chase?

Complications:
Wolf Form: Difficulty Rating 11/10: The hybrid form is one thing, but her wolf form in another. The mindset required is so foreign to her, so strange. It requires letting go in a way that she isn’t comfortable with, nor does she really trust herself while in it. In order to willingly shift into it, Charlie needs to be calm and completely focused. If she fails, the attempt could be wasted or leave her dazed or worse [GM discretion]

WHAT THE HECK IS THAT?: Werewolves are rather scary and changing back into her human form to talk to civilians really isn’t an option. Would you run screaming from a werewolf? Maybe run to the cops and tell them to ‘Shoot the monster?’ Welcome to her day.

Lone Wolf: Having turned down Kade and thus his pack, Charlie is on her own. Werewolves of her kind often seek strength in numbers and the potential for a different pack to try and recruit her is very real. Not to mention the possibility of Kade coming back and next time he might not be so friendly.

OK, couple of comments.

1. I'm letting it slide on the name front. Ordinarily, I'd be all "no name on sheet? Chaaaaaracter building!", but since otherwise it is a fully filled out, realised sheet, I'd instead urge you to fix it ASAP and remember the vague rule of thumb of: costume, codename, powers, pick minimum 2 out of 3. Although admittedly "turning into a big gorram wolf" may count as both costume & powers.

2. There's technically an array within an array here, which isn't really kosher, even if the Speed/Leaping arrays are pretty basic, inoffensive and roughly similar between forms. You could have it within the overall Container, but outwith the array of Hybrid/Quadruped forms, and thus able to apply to both? You could make it simpler to read also, by simply removing all from the array that are the same in both forms, like the Str/Con, Scent, Super-Strength 1, Uncanny Dodge, etc etc. It's also unusual, albeit not utterly worthless, to need more than one kind of Uncanny Dodge.

Okay. A lot to reply to here.

1. I was figuring that her powers and costume did go hand and hand yes. The way I see it in my head, she's almost completely covered in fur so her tattoos aren't visible and the transformation changes her head into a wolf's. There is really no way to recognize charlie within her werewolf form. I realize that it is a part of her powers but it would effectively hide her identity so I figured it should be ok.

2. The reason I did the array was at the recommendation of another ref. I can't remember who it was now, but I put her up in Character Building and they talked to me about it in chat. Gave me a few ideas for streamlining things a bit. I honestly can't remember who it was though. I know Gizmo and TT were both giving me pointers while working on the character so it could have been either one.

Also, with the way Alternate Form works I don't think I can take any powers out of the array and still have it function properly. I have X number of PP per form depending on how many ranks are in it. Plus in my head it seems easier to just look at each form separately. OK Hybrid has this list, and Wolf has this list.
