  1. August 6th, Saturday Evening Freedom City, the Boardwalk Opening Night! Sir August Card has great pleasure in announcing The High Steaks Reopening Night August 6th Entrance $500 All inclusive food and drink Complementary $50 Chips for Gambling All night Event Places Limited This is a Card Productions Ltd Event Please refer to rules and regulations etc with regards to High Steaks gambling and conduct Strictly Black Tie Only No Riff-Raff So said the "open" invitation flyer. Of course, not many could afford such a swish event. And besides, the flyers had a habit of being onlcy circulated amongst the rich and powerful of Freedom City. Or, ideally, the rich and powerful. The last words of the flyer were often alluded to with an unspoken emphasis. After all, places were limited, and choices would have to be made. The High Steaks had been closed for a few months, done up, and looked even more resplendent than ever. It had always had an excellent reputation, but now, it seemed, it was gunning for a world class one. Stretch Limos dropped off well dressed couples, or singles (and even a well known playboy with a dame on each arm). The building looked neither completely modern or completely antiquated. Built in the 70s, it kept the best of that era and had styles both before and after bolted on. Perhaps it shouldn't have worked, but the refurbishment had clearly involved some excellent architects, artists, and builders, and it most certainly looked the part, in and out...

    High Steaks

Mulling this over in my head; Ive used the High Steaks in a couple of threads. Its a Freedom City restaurant and gambling joint for those with money, and an exclusive club for the rich and powerful. Its also used to be run by vampires. I'm thinking of running a social thread, as its taken over by new management. By "Social" I don't mean just meet and greet, flash cash, etc. If run, it will be about social conflicts, gossip, networking, antagonism, charm, seduction, and even perhaps some card playing (and/or cheating). I.e. Some clash, but no combat. If you fancy getting membership at the new club, then bring your best clothes and spend money. Plus, be charming, beautiful, and powerful. Or better still, all three... Still mulling this over; I'n not particularly good (or perhaps interested) in regular social threads, but I am always up for experimenting a bit. Plus, I would quite like to try "running" a regular NPC (the new owner), as a non-combat orientated character. For those that know "Wild Cards", I have (vaguely), the "Aces High" restaurant run by Hiram Worcester in mind; although blended with "Casino Royale" Bond, and a little touch of Las Vegas.
  3. GM Sunday, 14th December The High Steaks Casino / Restaurant Early Evening Sasha Shots was dressed to kill. And that was her aim. Not a shot through the heart. At least not the ballistic type. Her target was Geckoman, and she was dressed to make him swoon. It was a simple matter - she had poured herself into a hot little black cocktail dress of high expense, adorned herself with a few choice expensive jewels and jewelry, and applied her face paint. Sasha Shots was a journalist of average capabilities. What did make her valuable was a body to die for and a face to weep over. She was the new "face" of media, sweating pure sex appeal. And the corner of High Steaks, overlooking both the ground floor eating, and the raised area where gambling of all sorts took place, was hers. It was an opera booth of sorts. She checked her watch. Would Geckoman be late? The Daily Herald has publically invited him here today to give his "side" of the story, under the headline "Geckoman? Has he the Geckoballs?" The crowd below were packed, both gamblers and diners (and a large number who were both), all craning their necks to catch a glimpse of the "Rogue Reptile!"
  4. OOC for A social conflict thread for Geckoman, defending his reputation from the Daily Herald.
